So like, lets not get it twisted here. The Gods are sentient beings who escaped a devestation of their home world and are refugees of Exandria. They experienced unimaginable horrors. They have suffered imensly. But they are also cosmic beings of insane power who can flatten mortals with a single breath.
Two things can be true. And i think a discussion could have been be had about how to handle the innate imbalance of power between the Gods and mortals. And i think its a bad argument to say that the Gods are just like mortals, because they demonstrably are NOT. To equate them to humans is kind of horrific, actually.
But of all the mortals on the face of Exandria, id say Ludinus is most like the Gods. And he took ANY possibility of there being a discussion about the Gods' place in Exandria and just blew it the fuck up like he did Molaesmyr.
Lets not get it twisted here. Ludinus would have sent Aeor crashing and burning into the ice plains of Eisselcross if he had uncovered a plot that stood against his machinations. The Gods warred with eachother through the Calamity. Ludinus started a war between empires to get what he needed. The Primes allied with the Betrayers to destroy the Factorum Malleus. Ludinus has allied with beings of terrible intent (the Weavemind) to complete his goals. Ludinus claims the Gods siphon power from mortals to feed their own kingdoms in the sky, while he has consumed the essence of fey beings to extend his own life and powers.
The Gods are not like mortals. But Ludinus is just like them.
#critical role#bells hells#ludinus da'leth#cr spoilers#the only meaningful difference between them right now is that the Gods distanced themselves behind the divine gate#while Ludinus roams freely on Exandra to do whatever he pleases#also. historically. when has a vanguard revolution ever worked out favorably for the proletariat? the answer may shock you
