I don’t think Dazai is sorry. for what happened to Akutagawa#that’s his whole thing. he’s empty. he doesn’t think it was good or bad. simply that it was.#even though now he lives by oda’s credo (more or less)#you would think he’d be retroactively guilty. but I’m not getting that impression in general.#urgh this is a hard conversation to write. because atsushi is very forgiving but how can we ignore the direct parallels here????#if he thought of Akutagawa as nothing but a wild animal that needs to be collared then what about Atsushi?!#….#also.
