【Art and Love】
Presentation during the study tour program.
The charm of art is boundless, as even young children can deeply appreciate the profound meaning art brings.
Respected teachers, parents, and dear fellow students:
Good morning, everyone! I’m Victor from Class One, Grade Two, and I’m honored to be the student representative for this art-focused study abroad program, delivering a presentation here by the beautiful Seine River. Today, the topic of my speech is 《Art and Love》.
Ever since childhood, my parents often say “I love you” (我爱你) to me, and I interpreted the meaning of these three words as an expression of familial affection, because it seems that only those close to us would use these words to express their love. Apart from that, my understanding of the meaning of love was quite vague. After all, there is no definition of love in textbooks, nor are there any measurable standards.
However, after visiting various art schools and museums, my understanding of love has become more enriched. Love is more than just the simple yet profound three words. Love can be seen in Renoir’s 《Dance in the Country 》, where the couple gracefully dances underneath the sunlight. Love can be expressed through the free-style romantic classical music that conveys emotions–– love can be seen, and it can be felt.
We have never heard or witnessed the love shared by our past generations, but through the works of art they left behind, we can feel the unique love they experienced in different times and settings. When I stood before《Liberty Leading the People》, I could feel Delacroix’s love for his country and nation. As I admired 《Woman with a Parasol 》, I could feel Monet’s love for Camille. Art has the power to convey and evoke emotions of love, whether it’s within the canvas or beyond.
Therefore, I believe that art is a force of love. It can inspire future generations to express and pursue love passionately. And perhaps, this is what makes art worthy of the greatest admiration.
Finally, may everyone find delight in art and experience the joy of both loving and being loved.
This concludes my presentation. Thank you, everyone.
