18. What was their worst injury?: That time when he was impaled by a massive Sangheili Honour Guardsman’s energy stave. Losing part of his left leg was bad enough, sure, but the stave damn near killed him.... And his dear Jeanette was less than impressed by his antics— while also grateful that he’d drawn the Elite’s attention onto him, instead.

43. What do they think is their worst quality? What is their actual worst quality?: I don’t know if Hunter has ever considered the possibility of even having a “worst quality”, so to speak. He experiences feelings of inadequacy, and feels insecure, from time to time, but would he say it’s his worst quality? Possibly?

As for his actual worst quality. Hm. I guess his intelligence? Not that he isn’t smart, because of course he is. But Hunter is also dumb as a box of rocks sometimes. As @infinityactual said of Captain Lasky on discord one time — and I find it fits Hunter and a few other characters to a fuckin T — “he’s a subspecies of himbo: not a true himbo, only stupid under really specific circumstances”.

Being dumb isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s. Well, it can get Hunter into trouble.

🤔 what are some of your oc's quirks/mannerisms?:

Has a tendency to rush headlong into danger, especially if it’s to protect someone he cares about ( double bonus points if they have gear that can’t tank as many hits like his can )

Threads words or phrases in Sangheili or even Jiralhanae into his every day speech

Likes to take the hard path down mountain sides / other rough terrain, which has subsequently earned him the nickname “mountain goat”

Rather than fighting with conventional weapons ( i.e.: guns ), chooses to utilize a modified Gravity Hammer as his go-to. That’s not to say he won’t use a gun, or a combat knife, or anything like that; he simply has a preference for and proficiency with Skullcrusher ( if anyone’s curious, the modifications are a black and red energy bayonet, replacing the metal blade that runs along the hammer’s head, the ability to forcibly attract individuals — much like Tartarus’ Fist of Rukt — and deals more damage than the standard hammer )

😥 is your oc prone to getting stressed out, or is it easy for them to keep their cool?: Goooooood fuckin’ question. I don’t really know; I can’t say I’ve put much thought into something like that. I think he’s probably one of the more level-headed of my idjits, but sldkfjhsldjkfs you never know; they can surprise you

1. found family

is this a surprise? the reason i’m so into star wars and atla and agents of shield/marvel overall. like i’m always here for romance but i need found family. (and when there’s both?? that’s it for me.)

2. enemies to lovers/friends to lovers

i’m putting these together because i love them both, but enemies to lovers has to be done right (read: helene/harper in an ember in the ashes and matthias/nina in six of crows). <<two of my favorites and also two different examples of how enemies to lovers can go (a. same side overall but one or both sided hatred for some reason. b. completely opposite sides but one of them gets a redemption arc and learns how they were wrong).

3. redemption arc

just!!!!!!! absolutely perfect, *chef’s kiss.* i’m always that person that thinks they’ll hate the character in question for all eternity and then gets proven wrong every time. and i love it. catra from she-ra and zuko from atla and (again) helene from aeita and matthias from soc. love them all.

4. mutual pining

it’s about the pining, okay. mutual pining=me completely invested in a relationship. zoyalai. (is this post just me shamelessly plugging books/ships i like? yes yes it is). i’ve gotta be careful with pining though because it tends to annoy me when there’s some stupid reason they can’t be together like the guy wAntS tO pRoTeCt tHe GiRl in a stupid way. but when there’s a good reason oooooh. or they’re just unwilling to admit it even better!!

5. (is this a trope) hurt/comfort

character goes through upsetting event but then person they care about helps them through the aftermath. AH. because i’m here for the angst but i also need a light at the end of the tunnel! this is basically all of my favorite sw oneshots because wow these characters need some support man. i love this one because it can be romantic or platonic and i’ll still go crazy for it, it helps you understand the characters better and oftentimes the themes feel very relevant to real life, even if the character’s specific problem is not.
