Please do spill the tea about how certain people are wrong about Xion's sacrifice no longer mattering after she was brought back
(Hi anon I'm so sorry it took me forever to answer this ask! I was trying to find that one interview from Nomura, couldn't find it, and then forgot about this ask đ
)
Thank you anon for giving me the opportunity to talk about Xion my beloved
I don't see what the issue is with Xion (plus Nami and Roxas) returning. I don't think I've ever seen anyone claim that the wayfinders shouldn't have come back, so why can't that extend to RNX? I explained in a previous post why it is so important for them to be considered their own people separate from Sora and Kairi. And this is far from the first time we've had a character sacrifice themself only for them to be brought back later
Goofy died Sora stabbed himself to free Kairi's heart from his but five minutes later he's returned to life because of the power of his dear friend:
Sora: "I was lost in the darkness. I couldn't find my way. As I stumbled through the dark, I started forgetting thingsâmy friends, who I was. The darkness almost swallowed me. But then I heard a voiceâyour voice. You brought me back."
And in KH3:
Sora: "It's all right! You can stop now! It's all right . . ."
Roxas: "Xion."
Both Sora and Xion were lost, but Kairi and Roxas called them back. Sora's sacrifice happened in the very first game. This isn't just fan wish fulfillment giving us beloved characters back. KH1 set the precedent: when we lose ourselves, our bonds with our friends can help us find the way again.
As for the memory loss: why are Xion, Roxas, and NaminĂŠ even characters anyway? Because Sora's sacrifice had consequences that were explored for several games. This wasn't just an immediate reversal where Sora dying was never brought up again. And similarly Xion's death isn't the only possible way a sacrifice can be explored, and Xion's return doesn't negate the fact that there were still consequences from her death.
The consequences from Xion's sacrifice have mostly been explored inâguess whatâRe:Coded! The game everyone claimed was skippable before KH3 came out! Data Sora may not be regular Sora but we get to see how all these other hearts inside his are influencing the pain he feels. It's not a perfect exploration of Xion's pain and I wish that we could have had Xion actually appear and talk to Data Sora like Data Roxas did. DDD later showed glimpses of Xion and Sora again feeling hers and Roxas's pain. A character being returned to life doesn't just automatically erase the pain of that sacrifice. The parts of Recoded and DDD that show us her pain don't just become irrelevant now that Xion is back. (Just replay the KH2 prologue with the ending scene from Days in mind. Hurts so much more)
I think what some people don't like about Xion's return is that she's remembered, everything's been wrapped up neatly, it's like there are no consequences anymore. Once her name is said and her hood is off, Axel remembers her pretty instantly, and Roxas doesn't seem to have any memory issues when he shows up. Unfortunately KH3 had so many things to cover and not enough time to fully explore everything that Xion's return does feel a bit easy. And for future games, there so many other characters that are more connected to The Larger Plot that Xion's story might be pushed to the side right now. So while yes, the story absolutely could give more focus on the long term effects of being forgotten, there is rightful criticism to say that Xion's return happened too quickly at the very end of KH3 when everyone else also needed to return at the same time, which is just going to make everything feel rushed.
There is so much potential to explore and we've only had a brief bit of MOM and part of Remind that shows us what is happening after KH3. There is still opportunities to show how the consequences are still affecting Xion even after her return. Do Axel and Roxas remember her perfectly now? How does Xion feel about the natural memory loss that just happens with life? I think the reason why people say her sacrifice didn't matter is because so far the games released after KH3 have been prequels/midquels that fill in backstory before BBS and those questions haven't been answered (yet, hopefully)
But to say her sacrifice didn't matter isn't understanding that KH is a story where people get second chances. People who are lost can be found again.
(And its not like every single character ever gets returned to life. Repliku is probably not returning and Vanitas's fate is still up in the air imo (though personally I would not mind if they both returned). DR and UX also have loads of characters who died brutal deaths and probably aren't coming back if you want that angst. I understand that what makes Xion in particular so compelling is how much time is spent developing her character compared to DRUX's dead characters. But its something)
(and to anyone about to say "but that Nomura interview where he said he changed his mind about RNX returning" please link to the interview and I will be happy to discuss it)
(also I recognize kh3's flaws but this is NOT an invitation for anyone to rant on my post about how bad you think the game may be)
#ask#anon#xion#there are definitely ways the consequences of her sacrifice could have been explored better#but it's not like the games after days completely ignored her#her pain is relevant to the story and returning her to life still makes it matter#i think what honestly confuses me is that nomura interview where he said he wasn't sure if he was going to bring them back#dude this has been foreshadowed since BLANK POINTS what are you talking about??#kh is not a grimdark everybody dies story#you want a large fairytale inspired story with young people fighting monsters of darkness that has main characters permanently die but#is ultimately hopeful? i recommend watching rwby

Yâall this is a long soriku rant that include me talking about Sora and Riku on their own as well, so forgive me.
.
âAt the start of your test, when you struck out from that tiny island, you saw me there dressed in a robe.â
Time for the whole âyouâre so in love that you turned into a DE on instinct for Sora,â spiel. I love it.
âImmediately you knew something was wrong, so without even knowing it, you dove into Soraâs dream. And you became exactly what that sigil on your back represents. A dream eater to protect Sora from nightmares.â
âMe? Iâm a dream eater?â
âCorrect. But you failed to protect him.â Donât you dare start this-
âAfter all your efforts to command the darkness and protect those you cherish, it is a shame you locked that power away in the end.â
And then he used it to protect Sora in the keyblade graveyardâŚâŚ
âExceptâŚitâs not over.â YESSS MY BOY!!! âI can still save Sora.â
He then talks to Ansem (and address him as Xehanort) about how he fell to darkness and how it stole the keyblade from him (from Xehanort), and then he says, âDonât you see? Thatâs half of the reason Iâm even on this journey.â He did all of this to prove to himself that he is still worthy of the Keyblade and that he can do it. He can prove it to himself and to others. He trust and believe in himself again.
âMy journey begins here, and now. Iâm going back to the real world, and then to Soraâs side.â
âSo, that is your answer?â
âYes, I know the way. Consume the darkness, return it to light.â
YESSS MY BOYYYY!!! Gosh this scene is SO good. Making Riku know he is a DE and SORAâs DE. He learns he did it on pure instinct and it makes him realize things about himself. Or at least, I like to headcannon it does. He realizes that he was willing to do all this for Sora, and it helps him realize more about his feelings. In my opinion, his whole side is about him going through an emotional journey, learning more about himself, and finally being able to accept himself. He learns how deep his bond and feelings for Sora are, he learns that he is still worthy of the keyblade, he realizes how truly strong he is, and heâs fully confident in Sora and his ability. His whole trip is about making him realize he is still worthy, which is why he wanted to do this test!!
Soraâs side is full of him helping others, learning more about the people, and being led into confusing areas. He was led on by the Organization, tricked, and pushed into a dark sleep, one that he wasnât supposed to wake up from. But then Riku almost did. His voice almost made him wake from a nightmare, but he was trapped again. Heâs been used, trapped, and almost became a Xehanort vessel (if Iâm remembering correctly from the last time I played this). I believe this is one of the key moments that led Sora fo doubting himself.
He was tricked so easily and because of his want to see his friends, he fell into their trap without knowing it. His power was stripped (I believe KH 3 happens right after DDD? I could be wrong.) and I believe this is when Yen Sid loses some faith in him? Sorta?? Or that may just be my memory from fics talking. But still this moment probably really hurt his confidence in himself and made him believe he wasnât a hero anymore.
Gosh DDD is so soriku but also so sad for each characterđ. Or at least in my eyes it is.

Essay Part 2: The Deepest Relationship
Now that I have explained how Riku is a strong character with is OWN development and his OWN personanity, I can talk about his relationship with Sora. Sora is also a developed character, even if his evolution is less spectacular than Riku's. I'm not here to talk about Sora so I'll probably give you links to wonderful analysis I've read.
If I mention that, it's because I want to point at something which is very important in terms of writing. To write a relationship between two characters (or more, but here it's two), the two characters involved must be developed. That's important to understand the dynamics between them, why they like each other, why their relationship exists and why it works. And this rule applies to all kinds of relationships.
Indeed, those conditions are filled with Sora and Riku's relationship.
Actually, the producer himself admits that their relationship is the very heart of the series:
"The fact is that the main focus of the series is Sora and Riku; how their friendship develops, but also how they grow up."
Now, let's see how their relationship works. Because it works. Whether you see it as friendly or romantic doesn't matter, it works the same.
The two of them were childhood friends. It is told in BBS and KH: they used to spend all their time together, inventing stories and dreaming about adventures. They kind of promised to protect each other at the really early age of 4 and 5.
Aqua: Sora, do you like Riku?
Sora: Of course I like him, he's my best friend!
Aqua: Good. So then, if something happens, and Riku is about to get lost--or say, he starts wandering down a dark path alone--you make sure to stay with him and keep him safe. That's your job, Sora, and I'm counting on you to do it, okay?
*Sora nods*
As they grew up, a distance has settled between them. I have already talked about what caused that distance. KH is not the best moment of their friendship but, believe it or not, it is essential to its development. Both guilt and love pushed Riku to seek to make amends with Sora, to protect him:
Sora, on his side, wasn't resentful against Riku at all -all he wanted was to find his friend back and make things the way they were before.
But it soon became clear to them that such a thing was impossible. Too many things had changed due to Riku's actions and the hardships they had to face. They had to stick the pieces back, and tried their best to do so. Sora tried to find back Riku during CoM and KH2.
Sora (beginning of KH2): Well, I'm gonna go look for Riku. Then he and I can go back to the islands together.
Riku tried to help Sora recover his memories and he watched his friend during his sleep.
And it didn't mattered to them that one year has passed, their goal never changed. When Sora woke up, Riku kept on protecting him, Sora kept on searching for him. Both of them wanted to recover something that mattered to them - that is to say, their best friend. Is it forced? No. It follow the events of KH. It is the consequence of what happened before.
When they finally find each other during the events of KH2, the feelings expressed by Sora (happiness, relief) and by Riku (shame, doubt) underline how much they care about each other.
Sora: Why didn't you let me know you were okay?
That's not like Sora's and Kairi's reunions, where all we can see is a promise - something that Sora and Riku also share - and mere relief, joy. I don't say Sora is not happy to be reunited with Kairi and vice-versa. It's just that when they do, the poor development Kairi is given prevents these scenes from being as powerful as Sora's and Riku's reunion(s).
Indeed, when they found each other in KH2, after a rough fight with Xemnas, what is the first thing that happens between them?
A heart-to-heart conversation.
That is sweet, and illustrates that, yes, they share a special bond. But what I like the most with this scene in the Dark Margin, is that it's the undeniable proof of what I've said before.
Those boys are trying to line the scattered pieces of their frienship up - and the way they do it is simple, touching. They are just being honest with each other while talking about their past feelings for each other - and also the one they experience in the present moment:
Riku: What I said back there...about thinking I was better at stuff than you... To tell you the truth, Sora... I was jealous of you.
Sora: What for?
Riku: I wished I could live life the way you do. Just following my heart.
Sora: Yeah, well, I've got my share of problems, too.
Riku: Like what?
Sora: Like...wanting to be like you.
Riku: Well, there is one advantage to being me... Something you could never imitate.
Sora: Really? What's that?
Riku: Having you for a friend.
Sora: Then I guess...I'm okay the way I am. I've got something you could never imitate too.
That is so sincere that I don't get why people keep on saying that their relation is forced.
Their story, however, is not over yet. Dream Drop Distance is the the highlight for the writing of their common story. I have already written a post about their bonds in KH3D, so I'll resume what I said, and add new elements. DDD is pretty smart because it depicts the link between Sora and Riku even though they're separated during almost the whole game.
At the beginning of the game, Riku and Sora are at Master Yen Sid's Tower, and he says that they have to pass the Mark of Mastery Exam. It is really important to Riku, but for Sora, it is quite useless. Still, Sora decides to pass the exam with Riku in order to motivate and support him.
Sora: But that's a formality, right? I already proved myself. Me and the king, and Riku--we can take on anything. Right, Riku?
Riku: I don't know. I think that in my heart, darkness still has a hold. Walking that path changed me. I'm not sure if I'm ready to wield a Keyblade. Maybe I do need to be tested.
Sora: Riku... Then count me in. Put me through the test! Just watch--me and Riku will pass with flying colors!
This element shows that the two of them trust each other. Which is the proof that their conversation on that dark beach has definitely recovered their bonds - their trust in each other, the fact that they can rely on each other no matter what.
That is an evolution, not just a "return to the way it was before". Because the dynamic between them has changed. Sora is the one Riku rely on. Sora is the one "in advance". Sora is the one confident and cool. (at least in Riku's eyes). But Riku is not jealous anymore. That's different.
The game has also a lot of interesting scenes. In Traverse Town, for instance, we """learn""" (in case it wasn't clear until that moment...) that Sora is Riku's most important person.
Beat: I just...wanna protect the one person who matters.
Riku: I know the feeling.
On Sora's side, by his own words, they are always together, even when they are separated:
Sora: Don't worry. He's with me--even when it might seem like he's not.
In La CitĂŠ des Cloches, the Quasimodo/Riku parallel shows that Riku his still holding back stuff inside of him.
Quasimodo: Master Frollo--he made me live inside the bell tower, but the real walls were the ones I built around my heart. You helped me see that, Riku.
Riku: I was...speaking from...personal experience.
Given the context, it is clear that it is a reference to Riku's feelings for Sora, especially if we take a look at Quasimodo's feelings for Esmeralda, and Esmeralda's and PhĹbus words.
In Monstro, Riku says that Sora is his conscience, and even talks about "his stupid grin", what's.. extremely tender?!
Jiminy: You must have somebody--a friend you can talk to?
Riku: Yeah...actually, I do. That stupid grin he's always wearing--he's the best teacher I could ever have.
The Symphony Of Sorcery is also full of elements, like the fact that Sora considers that Riku is always there for him...
Sora: Don't worry. I've got a friend out there who will help. He's always picking up the slack for me.
...which was actually proved in game:
So yeah, the game does not only say that Riku is here for Sora, it actually shows that. And the fact that they share a "heart song" is purposely here to illustrate how strong their relationship is.
Mickey: It's like each of you is holding on to a little part of the other. Your hearts are always in tune, so they're free to sing.
Mickey even says that, when they're together, their heart are "free to sing". And it is true: they can be their true selves together, they know they can trust each other, they are comfortable with each other.
Riku being Sora's Dream Eater is a major point in his character but ALSO another proof that he cares really much about Sora and that it is instinctive, natural - he doesn't even realize it until someone points out this """detail""".
Another scene that, for me, is important to proove that their relationship is NOT forced is the moment when Riku is named Master. Sora is not upset, he's sincerely happy for Riku:
Sora: I knew you were gonna pass with flying colors. This is just so awesome!
Watching his reactions, it's easy to see that he knew how important it was to Riku:
And finally, KH3 is the consequence of this development. Riku and Sora have achieved a balance together, between trust in each other and independence. In this game, Sora wants to protect Riku, Riku wants to protect Sora - and he actually found the strenght to do it. Riku cheers Sora up, believes in him, the same way Sora did for him before:
In the end, Riku is, once again, the one who's saving Sora. In fact, I would say they constantly save each other - sometimes save and being saved is the same thing.
So, yeah, I don't know if it was clear... but what I meant is that every single KH game where those boys are present - that is to say the large majority of them - shows how they both evolve individualy but also how their relationship evolves to become something better, something greater. The way it is written follows a perfect logic, a dynamic that corresponds to the state of the two characters and the context in which the action takes place.
Once again, regarding the care that is taken to tell their story, it is unfair to say that their relationship is forced. ESPECIALLY if it is compared to Sora's relation to Kairi. It is simply incomparable.

Sora and Xehanort: The True King vs. The Pretender to the Throne
Sora fighting Xehanort in Scala ad Caelum was kind of like watching a king reclaim his throne from a pretender who caused nothing but havoc in ruin in the kingâs absence. Credit to @rapis-razuriâ for first making the connection and then telling me about it.
Letâs back up a bit first, though. Verum Rex, the video game featured in Toy Box, means True King in Latin.
And while yes, this is no doubt a reference to Versus XIII, I also want to consider the idea of true kings in the context of KH3.Â
Sora has his first confrontation with Xehanort in Toy Box (albeit Young Xehanort). The true king (Sora) goes up against the pretender (Xehanort), and Sora doesnât even hesitate to attack him in a sequence that shows that no, Sora is not over what Xehanort tried to do to him in DDD...
...but unfortunately Xehanort manages to grab him...
...and casts him out/banishes him, i.e. throws him into the video game where the gigas are.Â
Fourth wall? What fourth wall?
But Sora fights his way out and makes his way back to his friends... much like how later in the game, he is cast out of the realm of the living...Â
...and then fights his way back to his friends and rescues them.
In San Fransokyo, Sora meets Xehanort again after he finds all his friendsâ hearts... except Kairiâs.
Look how hostile he is right off the bat towards him:
He just glares at him even while Xehanort... tells the truth for once and warns him whatâs going to happen to him?
Soraâs not having it though and is sure to sass him:
And Xehanortâs parting words are chilling:
And then Sora goes back to the Keyblade Graveyard and... well, we all know how things went from there.
Xehanort wants power, no matter what the cost... and heâll sacrifice whatever it takes to get it. Including Kairi.
And by the time we get to Scala ad Caelum... thereâs a marked change in Soraâs interactions with him. No more sass. No more discussion. Sora doesnât take Xehanortâs BS at all.
Seriously, almost every time he looks at Xehanort, heâs glaring at him or regarding him with the contempt and disgust he deserves. This is the man who killed the girl he loves enough to become a Heartless for - and later on in this very game actually died for! - and it hits Sora where it hurts. Like a king losing his queen when the pretender tries to take over his throne, Kairiâs loss wounds Sora deeply.
And, of course... the game of chess isnât over if the queenâs gone - the king must be captured for that to happen - but all the same, the kingâs left a lot more vulnerable without her.
But, queen at his side or not, he still has to win and beat the guy who made his friendsâ lives hell and has made his life hell, too.
His eyebrows are furrowed and he has his hand on his Keyblade, ready to fight:
Xehanort is dressed in goat/ram armor for one of the battles, and goats... well, theyâre associated with the devil, among other things, so the parallel is very fitting here. Sora probably felt like he was fighting Satan at this point.
Shoutout to Donald for being equally disgusted/angry with him:
The sky starting to go dark reflects Soraâs mood pretty well here:
Sora just looks at him with utter loathing and disgust, which is such a huge change from his usual friendly/cheerful demeanor:
Even when heâs looking up at him itâs with his head pulled back to make himself look as big/tall as possible. In other words, he isnât giving Xehanort any sort of deference because he never in a million years deserves it.
Donald and Goofy are equally pissed and it really shows:
Even when Soraâs surprised/unsure about whatâs going on heâs still glaring and gritting his teeth:
And when Xehanort took Soraâs light, Iâm pretty sure I gasped. Not just because I really liked Rage Form in this game and love any sort of exploration of Soraâs darkness, but because...
Well, Xehanort already took Soraâs light from him. Kairi. Kairiâs his light. This moment really drives that point home. Soraâs still feeling rage and fury and grief over her death, over losing her, and that comes out all at once and boy was it satisfying to wail on Xehanort like this:
Fight darkness with darkness!
Even when heâs desperate and about to die, heâs still just furious at Xehanort and thatâs reflected in his demeanor:
And finally, FINALLY, he wins. Xehanort is no longer towering over him. Theyâre on equal footing now. Sora has dragged him off his high horse and defeated him. Not only that, heâs actually managed to get him to collapse to the ground when before Sora had collapsed to the ground over his grief at losing his friends and then his grief at Kairiâs death. But not here. Heâs the one standing over Xehanort for once.Â
And heâs so tired and so done with him at this point and it was so satisfying to see someone call Xehanort out on his BS and for Xehanort to finally have to listen:
Sora demands to know whatâs going to happen because he doesnât want to hear any more lies, half-truths, or beating around the bush:
Side note: foreshadowing?Â
Sora, in a way, is the Worldâs hope, and he is likewise lost at the end of the game, and the camera very deliberately chooses to focus on him here...
But anyway, as the scene continues, you can still really just see his contempt and disgust with Xehanort. This is the part where he basically tells Xehanort heâs not cut out to be a true leader because he thinks he can control destiny, and his contempt for Xehanort just oozes off the screen. Bonus points for them having a discussion about destiny vs. free will, where Xehanort blathers on about dictating peopleâs fates for them while Sora comes down hard on the side of giving people free will even if no one can really control their own destiny:
I love Soraâs line here: âA real leader knows that destiny is beyond his control... and accepts that.â
He tells it like it is, not at all afraid to mince words. Because yeah, Xehanort doesnât deserve to rule one single bit. And in doing so Sora proves he is the one who truly deserves to rule. What do you bet he will become the eventual ruler of... something, eventually. Kingdom Hearts, maybe?Â
This moment is like when the true king tells the pretender to get off his throne, an idea @rapis-razuriâ first proposed:
Yep, Iâm definitely getting a âGet out of my kingdom and leave my people aloneâ vibe from this scene, even if Sora doesnât know his true destiny yet. Foreshadowing? Especially when his shotlock in Second Form was called King of Hearts?
Probably. After Xehanort banished him and caused endless destruction and ruin, heâs casting Xehanort out and heâs going to make things right.
Goofy gets a moment to look disgusted, too:
And Xehanort tries to make a big show about how heâs handing over the Ď-Blade because Sora did so well, blah blah blah, which... at least he acknowledges that Sora is the one who truly deserves this power?
Sora takes the Ď-Blade from him:
And to Soraâs infinite credit, even though he has such a powerful weapon at his disposal, even though he could use it to summon the door and open Kingdom Hearts for himself and take full power of whatever lies beyond and be reborn as something greater than human and remake the World how he desires, if Xehanortâs reports in BBS are to be believed...
He doesnât do that. He doesnât want that power, and by doing so, shows he is truly worthy of it in a way that Xehanort never was or will be.
But Sora doesnât take it for himself. He doesnât because he despises the Ď-Blade and what it represents, despises the fact that Xehanort murdered Kairi to create it, despises the fact that it was completed with her death and created by so much pain and suffering.
He could remake the World however he wishes and he chooses not to. He wants the old world back, flawed as it might be, because he wants to give people a chance. Wants to give them a choice.
And instead of trying to go it alone like Xehanort did, he calls on his friends to help him close whatever realm Xehanort opened up:
Then lifts the Ď-Blade in the air...
And we get this shot. My friends are my power, indeed:
âGood riddance, Iâm destroying this awful thing that represents everything I hate about what happened to Kairi plus all the crap Xehanort put my friends through, and Iâm gonna do it with my bare hands.â
Mustâve been so satisfying for Sora to finally see that thing gone. In the next scene the worlds are safe, the Ď-Blade is gone, and Kingdom Hearts has been sealed once more.
But even though he fought all night and it is now morning, the king isnât through with his mission. Thereâs one last person he still has to save. His queen. And in sharp contrast to how he felt like he was worthless without his friends before, here he feels worthy enough to go after her alone. And he pulls it off and saves her, too.
And for my game, at least, I got this image of Sora sitting on a throne at the end.Â
Sora won. He might not be king yet, but he stopped Xehanort from becoming king and restored the worlds and rescued his friends and saved Kairi, and thatâs whatâs important for now. The rest can happen later. Nomura does like to play the long game, after all, and heâs been drawing Sora slouching around on thrones since... KH1 days?
And... until the next KH game... weâll just have to wait and see how this theme will be further developed...

A SophBotâs Thoughts: Kingdom Hearts III -Â Why Yen Sid is Human Trash
Ah, weâve been here before.Â
But yes, as of kH3, Iâve grown to dislike this asshat. Hereâs why! :D
So, how do we stop Xehanort? DO EXACTLY AS HE SAYS!
Now, this one isnât as bothersome to me - though I do question it. I could be wrong and it might have been stated somewhere why exactly the heroes had to form the Seven Keyblade Wielders of Light to begin with, but none that I could recall - but if there is, feel free to correct me. Iâm just going off what I know and remember.
Why did they have to be formed with that specific number? Why in story did they have to go as that group against that group? Itâs doing exactly what Xehanort wants them to, and sure enough, how does everyone react when doing as he was wanting them to means he only needs one key left to forge the X-blade?
Who thought that was a good idea!? There were other ways of dealing with Xehanort, at least at the time. Why not go after one at a time? Why not have some people (LEA) use non-Keyblade weapons so that the âfated clashâ doesnât occur?Â
Granted, Xehanort being Xehanort, likely would and could have ended up turning the tides so that there was no other choice but to fight him under those circumstances. But when he hasnât done that yet, why make it easier for him to complete his plans?
Technically this could have went for all of the main heroes, but Iâm looking at Yen Sid specifically for this because heâs meant to be the one guiding them. He should know that doing this has a high risk, if not an 100% chance of helping Xehanortâs plans!Â
Thanks for the reminder! Not like he went through it...oh WAIT.
Now, I could discuss quite heavily whether or not Sora should have been failed for his Mark of Mastery, and thereâs arguments for both sides. So thatâll be a discussion for another day. But my issue doesnât lie there, even though holding something so important like a Mark of Mastery with a separate conflict while not making sure there wasnât outer factors kicking in is sketchy to me, but again, I donât know how it all works so I canât say for sure he had a way of knowing.
My issue lies with how Yen Sid speaks to Sora about the events of DDD.
Take this one here, as I'm gonna tear it apart.
âYour Mark of Mastery exam was conducted in the hopes you would acquire the power to wake them. However, the darkness nearly took control of you, and your grasp of your new abilities leaves much to be desired. Furthermore, Xehanort nearly made you his vessel, and in the process stripped you of most of the power you had gained by then. I suspect you have already noticed this, correct?â
Sora already knows all of this. Iâd get telling somebody like Kairi this, as she wasnât there for the exam and wouldnât have known about it until someone told her about it.
Of course heâs noticed this! It would be impossible for him not to. So why the hell would you reinforce it, itâs like rubbing salt in a wound thatâs still open.
And I get telling new players about this - but one...why would a new player start with whatâs labelled as at least the third game? Especially since the PS4 (which a majority of players are likely to have) has a game that offers the first game, Chain of Memories, whatâs basically a cutscene compilation of 385/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts II, Birth by Sleep, whatâs basically a cutscene compilation of Re:coded, and the same console also has 2.8, which offers Dream Drop Distance, A Fragmentary Passage and a movie of X Back Cover. Itâs not that difficult to figure out what happened last time, especially when KH3â˛s been hyped enough to be the grand finale of the Dark Seekers arc.Â
But, that aside, why does Yen Sid have to remind someone who went through the traumatic experience about what he went through and how itâs impacted him as if heâs an outsider who had little involvement with it? Story-wise, how in godâs name is that remotely helpful!?
Speaking of not being too helpful...
Did Yen Sid get amnesia about who Terra was?
Like, I donât want to offend anyone whoâs a fan of Lea. I really donât. I like the guy too! Heâs funny, heâs cool, heâs got some great lines, Iâm fond of his friendship with Kairi in the game, his interactions with Isa in this game are also wonderful. Butttt...I feel he was sort of forced into this role that he wasnât really made for to begin with. Something tells me between DDD and III they swapped some roles about...namely because of this line that I mentioned before.
Those three missing friends being, as I've said, Ven, Aqua and Terra. And yet...most people just kinda ignore the latter exists in this game, and as someone whoâs actually quite fond of him, itâs quite sad. Heâs namely spoken of by Aqua and Ventus when they come back, and Sora for a brief moment. If Mickey does, I canât remember when.
But to an extent, I can sort of understand, Lea being around and having a Keyblade as well as the help heâs offered so far, heâs an easier option to have at the time of the gameâs events. I just feel Terra would have fitted better thematically - what a better way to conclude his character arc by having him return to the side of the light to help fight against the man who hurt so many and wronged him so much? Alas, we donât get to see...well, much of any of that. I know thatâs more of a general writing problem, but I thought I'd note it here as very few in this game seem to really care about the guy anymore, Yen Sid included, especially since itâs not the first time he does something like that, and the fact that he didnât really bother to state outright that Xehanort could be up to something suspicious (all he says is that he may be linked to the Unversed, and in that case, you could say Ven is too, say what you mean!) And as for not caring about him in general, see the scene in Birth by Sleep when Aqua is in the Mysterious Tower after Venâs heart shatters and Terra disappears.
Amateur Hour
Onto something in a similar vein - why send two Keyblade warriors in when they have all the time in the world to train and become powerful, and when theyâre clearly not ready and one of them has next to no serious battle experience? Xehanortâs relying on the heroes to fall into the seven lights category, so why not get everyone as powerful as possible? That way even if the X-blade ends up forged, everyone will be equipped to send Xehanort packing and destroy the X-blade again. Hell, at least give the pair of them some battle experience so that when a true threat pops up, Kairi doesnât freeze up. Itâs not her fault - sheâs only fought Shadows before, sheâs not been in a situation like that before.
Her first proper battle with a Keyblade...is the final battle. Who thought that was a good idea!?
And what happens? As youâll have seen - Leaâs Keyblade gets broken, and Kairi gets kidnapped...again, and later killed.
That plan turned out great. And now, my biggest issue with this guy...
The Power of Waking
Thereâs a reason why I left this to last. Namely because itâs probably the worst thing this guyâs done - all through inaction.Â
I think this is something youâve all noticed - throughout the game, Yen Sid is constantly pounding in that Sora has to get the Power of Waking, over and over again. What is one thing he doesnât do?
MENTION OVERUSE OF THE DAMN THING COULD KILL HIM.
And thereâs not even any physical side effects from what Iâve seen, so the only thing Sora had that told him there was danger in the Power of Waking was Young Xehanort telling him about it. That guy he literally has no reason to trust! Yet he tells you more about the dangers than Yen Sid does.
Combined with literally falling into Xehanortâs plans, sending out someone who was still learning into the final battle (as her first battle as well) and pushing for this power to be found without explaining the responsibilities of it, all of this is why I blame him a lot for what happens to Sora at the end. They still could have had this ending without changing too much. Thereâs an awesome video by SirSkyward on YouTube called Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Written that shows a way you can do it, which actually addresses quite a few of these problems of mine. But thatâs alas not what happened in canon. Not only does this lead to Sora getting caught up in another of Xehanortâs traps, AGAIN, not only does him sending in Kairi too early lead to her not being ready and getting killed to âmotivateâ Sora (Iâll get to that shitshow when I talk about her, donât you worry-) thus causing the boy to sacrifice himself just to save her life.
Thanks for that, Yen Sid.Â

Ultimania Updates-SRT
Gathered in one place, hereâs the updates from the new Ultimania (and maybe some other tidbits) added to the Sleeping Realm Theory (SRT) doc so far. The sections these updates are found in are bolded so you can find them within the doc and read the surrounding context:
1. The Theory Itself
Time travel at KG to save everyoneâs hearts has been confirmed by Nomura! Look, see, where we said the second timeline went Save Everyone > Time Travel / Rewind > Xehanort Gay Dies After Decades Long Marriage Dispute, thatâs been confirmed!
Q: When we leave the Final World, we are back to the point just before Sora and his friends were defeated. Why is that?
Nomura: âThe power of awakening is essentially "the power to put sleeping hearts back the way they were." But the impact of forcing his friends' fading hearts back the way they were rewrote reality, and created a singularity. The rewrite caused the chronology in which they were destroyed to have "never happened." Source
2. Dive to the Heart
Now that the main interview with Nomura has been translated, itâs confirmed a very important thing for this theory.
âQ: The Final World, a place very important to the story, appeared in the game, but what kind of world is it?
A: It is a place where those just a step from death arrive, connected to the Station of Waking. Up until now, the Station of Waking was always a dark place where the floor was made of stained glass, where the condition of the inside of one's heart could be shown, but in this case I made The Final World a place where I could show [that] more concretely, a place similar to a portal to [people's] respective hearts. Within the game, it's said that sleep and death are intimately linked, so if one's heart were in a state of sleep and they found themselves in the Station of Waking, the idea is that if they moved on from there, they would find themselves in The Final World.â - Nomura, KH3 Ultimania.
What this says basically, is to arrive in The Final World during Dive to the Heart in the first place, your heart should already be âin a state of sleepâ. Nomura has confirmed, before the first DTTH we see, at the very start of the game we play, Sora is already in a state of sleep.
3. KHII.9(Context: This update is placed in the translation section talking about Rikuâs growth from saying his wish is to have âstrength protect the things that matterâ- âDaiji na monoâ- in BBS to âstrength to protect my cherished personâ in KH3-Â âTaisetsu na hitoâ)
The Ultimania actually goes out of its way to explicitly state this growth on Rikuâs character page: ââI want to become strong enough to protect the things that matter.â Roughly 10 years later, after many twists and turns, he has finally obtained the strength to protect the person who matters.â
4. KH3 for realsies this time
(Context: This one is in regards to the âlogo conspiracyâ, just to show that this sort of obscure hinting is not beyond something Nomura would do)
In an interview with Nomura in 2016, he revealed that he hid secret clues in the cover art for 1.5, 2.5, and 2.8. Because of course he did, I guess!
âNomura: There are actually two secrets about the illustrations from [KH1.5] until [KH2.8]. Extremely attentive KH fans might have already discovered them, but one is that Sora's movements change from sitting, to standing, to walking. One more is that when you line up the three illustrations, you'll notice that they show the flow of time with changes in the sky. [KH1.5] is sunset becoming night, [KH2.5] is the middle of the night, and [KH2.8] is night breaking into dawn. Those three illustrations have a message regarding the final chapter, [KHIII].â
Ultimania Update: Oh boy did you think Nomura was done? Cause he wasnât!
These party people were confirmed by Nomura in the Ultimania to actually be robed figures, sneakily placed to look apart of the building, people hidden in plain sight. Whatâs silly is that people had been wondering this exact thing when the box art had been revealed, and that too got shot down on the same premise of âreading too much into itâ.
5. The Paopu Fruit
In the Ultimania, Irino (Soraâs VA) stated that they recorded two versions of the paopu scene:
Irino: âWe recorded both a sharing scenario and a not sharing scenario. During the editing, it wasnât decided which [Nomura] would go with, but it seems in the end he went with the sharing scenario.â - KH3 Ultimania VA Interview
In an unseen timeline (the waking/real world) a litany of things could go differently, and while this tidbit could be nothing, itâs at least an interesting note and a fun little fact.
6. Flowmotion and Attraction Flow
Thereâs a section showing concept art and planning for Attraction Flows. (thanks to @gummiphoned for the discovery and photos!)
In the bottom corner, thereâs an in game concept example.Â
With Sora in his DDD outfit.
Set in DDDâs Traverse Town.Â
7. Reality Shift
Thereâs a section that elaborates a little on the Combined Keyblade, confirming it to be the very same one we see in DDD.
Top Text: "During the special event in the realm of darkness, when Sora and Riku deal the finishing blow against the Demon Tower, the two of them used their fusion keyblade. That keyblade is the same as the one that appeared in 3D."
Bottom Text: "In 3D this fusion keyblade appeared in The World That Never Was when using Reality Shift."
8. Promotional Materials
Later, official sources started to use a simple but unrelated, specific hashtag.
夢ăăăŞă (yume shika nai) translated to âONLY DREAMâ or just âThere is only a dreamâ. The first time itâs used was the 6 days to go countdown
It was then used moving forward in all promotional tweets including release day (PlayStation japan was also using the tag). The last time they used this was the secret movie announcement tweet.
9. The Secret Ending
This has actually been confirmed by Nomura to take place after KH3 and that when Sora disappears in the ending he arrives here. More or less exactly as we thought.
âQ: I see. Then, continuing on, I'd like to ask about the secret movie; is the location connected to the ending? A: Yes. After disappearing in the ending, Sora arrives in the world shown in the secret movie.â - Nomura, KH3 Ultimania.
10. Shibuya, Baby!
Nomura also made note that this Shibuya isnât the original in universe TWEWY world Shibuya. Itâs Shibuya, but ~Shibuya~. As in, some kind of alternate version.
âQ: Is the place Sora is in the same world as the one in The World Ends With You?
A: It looks that way. However, rather than saying Sora has gone to the TWEWY world, the meaning is that it's not exactly Shibuya, but ~Shibuya~ (note: this is hard to explain in English, but instead of it being written in kanji, the name for "Shibuya" is written in katakana here. This basically means it's not the same Shibuya as in TWEWY or in the real world.) Also, although Sora promised Neku and his friends that they would meet again in Shibuya, this video is not connected to that.â - Nomura, KH3 Ultimania
11. Rage Form
From the Dengeki Playstation interview:
--There's a form that appears called "Rage Form," which reminds us of the "Anti Form" from KH2. What is the setup behind that?
Nomura: The forms in this title are very different from that of KH2, so we decided to change all the names. Rage does indeed have characteristics that are reminiscent of Anti, but it's basically a separate thing setup wise. Anti is based on Sora getting completely stained in darkness, but Rage doesn't go quite that far. It's based on him going into a rampage state, controlled by feelings of anger.
12. Namine
Nomura has since elaborated a little bit on what happens with Namine tho it still doesnât really answer the biggest question. Itâs said that when Kairi took the blow from Xehanort, this set her free (even if we donât see a heart whatsoever). Nomura plans on explaining it more down the road, apparently.
13. Xion
Nomura has since stated in an interview that upcoming DLC will go into Xion and how sheâs here so, hooray!

I was SO MAD when Nomura said he didn't know how Saix got his scar! The answer is obvious when you put the pieces together, but he refuses to do so
There are several Organisation members whose original names are still unknown. Will we have a chance to learn them someday, or to find out about the scar on Isaâs face?
Nomura: If there is a sequel, then that chance may come. But in my heart right now my desire is a blank page.
Ugh, I felt the same way. I was SO mad. After 10 years of looking forward to the resolution of this subplot⌠that is the only explanation we are going to get apparently. I couldnât help but laugh and roll my eyes, though. Because, like you said, itâs so obvious what Saixâs deal was, if you put the pieces together. I was just thinking, âGee, I wonder why you have no interest in explaining Isaâs scar, Nomura? Maybe because you gave Isaâs backstory to Skuld?â
Even if Nomura does give us another explanation for the scar in a hypothetical sequel, I still wonât care because it wonât feel authentic. Iâll know deep down itâs not the real reason. Plus, with the precedents set already, itâll most likely be something stupid. Like, âIsa gave himself the scar to never forget Subject Xâ. Ugh, better not jinx it.
Terra: Strength for what?
Riku: To protect the things that matter. You know, like my friends.
Going into KH3, there were many things I was excited about. But there were three things I was looking forward to the most. One of them was seeing Terra, Aqua, and Ven get saved. This was a given. There was no way it was NOT going to happen. I was disappointed in how it happened.
I would have preferred to see the characters actually use the power of waking instead of just talking about it. These segments actually could have provided much-needed closure to the charactersâ emotional journeys. I would have preferred to see Ventus dive into Terraâs heart to wake him up, instead of Sora just nonchalantly freeing him with a flick of his Keyblade. But, at least they got savedâŚI guess.
Another one had to do with Riku and Terra. I havenât had the chance to talk much about this, but I guess now is as good a time as any. This was also was a HUGE disappointment for me. I LOVE Riku and Terra. This actually ties into my disappointment with Lea and Isaâs story. I was looking forward to Riku and Terraâs subplot for years. I was justâŚspeechless when I learned that it would all amount to nothing.
In âKHIâ, the robed man, Ansem the Wiseâs apprentice Xehanortâs Heartless (the body of Xehanortâs Heartless before he inhabited Rikuâs body), appeared on the Destiny Islands. Is this because it was Master Xehanortâs homeworld?Nomura: That may be one reason, but if he somehow had some of Terraâs memories, we can consider that it might be because he had laid eyes on Riku previously. In terms of the elements of Terra and Master Xehanort, I think the questions of how their power is related and divided, as well as who has whose memories and heart, will become a key to the story after this one.
Rikuâs period of absence was something that Nomura wanted to cover in BBS Volume 2. We see KH1 Riku in the Blank Points secret ending. It looks like that would have been the game where we would see a LOT more from his perspective over the course of the entire series, filling that âblankâ period.
Is that to say that thereâs a possibility that within Xehanortâs Heartless, the darkness that sleeps in Rikuâs heart, there might remain something of TerraâŚ?Nomura: Thatâs also a riddle connected to the next story, so everyone please use your imagination.
This connection between Rikuâs darkness and Terra was supposed to be followed up in the ânext storyâ. Of course, that is the game that got cancelled. During Blank Points, we also saw Riku watching Roxas and Xion. This was the time period where he struggled with the darkness inside of him. I was SO looking forward to learning about this.
Lingering Sentiment: âAquaâŚVen⌠A Keyblade? Who are you? I know you. Weâve met before, way back when. No, that wasnât you. Youâre not the one I chose. Where is he? XeâŚhaâŚnort⌠Is that you? XehaâŚnort⌠Xehanort!â
To Terra, Riku was his last chance for help. He was the boy heâd chosen to carry on his legacy. Riku gave him hope when he thought his friendships were beyond repair. He inspired him to listen to his heart. During his time in the darkness, Terra must have been thinking, âRiku will save me.â As the Lingering Sentiment, he clearly had Riku on his mind.
When each world is completely debugged, a scene is shown that was not seen in Kingdom Hearts I. Did those scenes occur at the same point in time as Kingdom Hearts I?
Nomura: Yes, they were memories deep in the data of the worlds recorded in Jiminyâs Journal, however as a result of Data Riku searching after the worlds were debugged, they were tangible to the King and company.
And that strange unexplained cutscene in Re:coded appeared to show that Terra was indeed searching for Riku. And Riku showed signs that he recognized Terra. Something about that darkness was familiar somehow. He smiled at the robed figure, like it was an old friend he hadnât seen in a long time.Â
Then the darkness immediately engulfs him. In DDD, the bad guys are able to travel to the sleeping Destiny Islands because a version of Xehanort physically existed there. So it is safe to say that Riku was already possessed even at the very beginning of KH1.
I always thought Rikuâs personality in KH1 was strange. In BBS, heâs a really pure-hearted kid who wants nothing more than to protect his friends. His powerful light is what drew Terra to Destiny Islands to begin with. In all the later games, heâs a very devoted friend who is wiling to do anything to protect the people that matter.Â
How could he have become Maleficentâs pawn and agree to turn on Sora so easily? It made total sense that Rikuâs openness to Xehanortâs Heartless was more about his connection to Terra than some innate disposition to he had to darkness.
Riku: Iâve got something you need to see.
Sora: Oh yeah?
Riku: A hidden truth that isnât part of your memories. I want you to see it. And, I want you to feel it.
Sora: Well, okay. I know you wouldnât ask if it wasnât important.
Riku: Thanks, Sora. Close your eyes.
In Re:coded, we also saw a new scene of Riku in Neverland, reaching out to the moon. Data Riku felt it was very important to show Sora. In that scene, Riku was behaving more like Xehanort than himself. The way he reaches for the moon is so similar to how Xemnas reaches for Kingdom Hearts.Â
Riku: Darkness had taken ahold of my heart, and Kairi had lost hers completely. But at the end of your journey, Sora, you would have saved us. Now, what did me and Kairi have in common? When you watchedâwhat did you feel?
Sora: UmmâŚ
Riku: It was âhurt.â We had both lost ourselves, and we were hurting. So what would you have done?
I think this is because Riku already had a piece of Xehanortâs heart implanted inside of him, and he was gradually being swallowed by it. Rikuâs possessiveness toward Kairi and his decision to turn on Sora was really Ansem Seeker of Darkness and his desire to find the last princess, manifesting through Riku. He was Xehanortâs vessel in KH1. Just like with Lea and Isa, I donât think Riku got to truly heal his âhurtâ, either.
âStop it, Sora!â he shouted desperately, managing to block the Keyblade. âDonât you recognize me?!â
âYeah, I do. I can see exactly what youâve become!â
âAugh!â Another blow from the Keyblade knocked Riku down. He couldnât see that giant shadow anymoreâdid that mean it really was himself?
âHow can the light hurt you? Have you really become a creature of the dark? Youâre not Riku anymoreâjust a pawn of the darkness.â Full of regret, Sora kept the Keyblade pointed at him. âItâs time for you to face the light!â
This is a scene from the Chain of Memories novel. Itâs when Zexion is trying to mess with Rikuâs mind. Itâs one of my favorite scenes in the series. Riku constantly refers to himself as a âcreature of the darkâ in the novels. He feels so ashamed of himself. His biggest fear is that Sora will realize what he âreallyâ is, and destroy him.
A fierce glow radiated from Sora. Just like a shock wave of darkness, it had a terrible power that bowled Riku over and pressed in on him.
âIâm fading⌠Fading awayâŚinto the lightâŚ?â
If he was a creature of darknessâif he couldnât fight the darkness with his own strengthâthen there was no other way but for Sora to destroy him, Riku thought hazily.
And if someone had to destroy himâŚhe would much rather that Sora do it than anyone else.
Riku accepts this fate as something he deserves.
Young Xehanort: It was yours first, wasnât it? But you succumbed to the darkness  you could not control, and your prizeâthe Keybladeâpassed onto Sora instead. Your mistakes always end up being other peopleâs problems.
Young Xehanort uses the same tactic Zexion did. He tries to manipulate Riku, using his guilt. They want him to fall to darkness so that he can become a vessel yet again. It doesnât work. But even in KH3D, Riku still blames himself for the problems that Xehanort caused.
âThat was my⌠my dark side. I gave into the darkness once, and ever since, itâs chased be around in one form or another. The seeker of darkness who stole my body, a puppet replica of the shadows in my heart, and now, Iâm facing me.â
This subplot explaining Rikuâs darkness most likely would have explained why he saw a dark version of himself in Monstro in KH3D. This other Riku is trying to kidnap Pinocchio, but heâs wearing an Organization cloak, which KH1 Riku was not. It seems like Riku saw a past version of himself from an alternate timelineâone who wonât get saved by Sora.
This Riku meets Young Xehanort and gets a black robe. Eventually, his heart will get totally swallowed by Xehanort. He will become a full-fledged vessel, and join and the Real Organization XIII. Then they will transport his whole body through time, like they did with all the other versions of Xehanort, including Terranort. I donât believe that Riku Replica had anything to do with this subplot originally. They didnât NEED replicas. They had time travel. Thatâs what Young Xehanortâs Keybalde was for. Thatâs why they left Vexen and only took Isa with them.
Riku: After allowing darkness into my heart, am I still fit to wield the Keyblade? Even after locking you away, here you are, haunting me again. So I get it now. Thereâs no point in trying to hold the darkness back.
Ansem: At last, you see clearly.
Riku: You knowâŚwhen I look at youâŚthereâs this memory that flashes back. A secret I said Iâd keep when I was little. The main reason I kept dreaming about seeing the outside worldâŚwas âcause of him.
Riku could clearly recognize Terra yet again during the ending. The darkness that hounded him constantly was not a manifestation of Rikuâs true nature. It was actually a friend in need reaching out for help. But Riku never learns this. How can he truly forgive himself if he never learns that he was not to blame for succumbing to âhisâ darkness?Â
That it wasnât his fault that the Destiny Islands fell to darkness, simply for wanting to see the outside world? That he is worthy to wield the Keyblade? That heâs not and never was a âcreature of the darkâ? Xehanort is the source of all the bad things that happened. Not him. He was being used as a vessel, like Terra. He was a victim.
When do Riku and Terra meet again?
Nomura: In Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Terra made a promise to Riku, âanyway, when you reach me, letâs teach the world the power to protect the ones we love, and the truly spacious world we live inâ, in case he should ever succeed him. It appears Riku has remembered this promise, but when will the two ever meet again?
Terra and Riku donât even speak in KH3. I. Was. So. Mad. LOL.Â
Then of course, there was Lea and Isaâs story. The one other thing I was really excited to see the resolution to.
So not only the members up to number VI were living in Radiant Garden, but Lea and Isa as well?
Nomura: Yes thatâs right. But at this time they were just two innocent boys who liked to play with a frisbee.
Yes, exactly. Thatâs what I found so interesting about them in BBS. They were just a couple of nice, normal kids who werenât harming anyone. Whatâs the point of going out of your way to show how innocent they are, unless you plan on showing what made them change? This all seemed like it was foreshadowing a very dramatic revelation.
By the way, Braigâs dealings with Master Xehanort in Birth by Sleep make sense, he was to become a vessel.
Nomura: There is a certain reason for Braig to proudly exclaim, âAs for me, Iâm already half Xehanort.â Isa (Saix) is included too. I think youâll understand the details about their circumstances eventually.
To me, it was so obvious, I never even questioned it. Two innocent kids are trying to sneak into a castle while shady human experiments are going on. They wind up in Organization XIII. Axel absolutely delights in assassinating its members, and he has a plan to overthrow Xemnas. And Saix is on on it, too.
Saix is pathetically miserable. He desperately longs for a heart, more than anyone. He has a big-ass scar of death on his face, orange eyes, pointy ears, and his personality did a total 180 after the events of BBS. He changed from someone who Lea loved spending time withâŚto someone exactly like Xehanort.Â
What else could they possibly have been trying to imply with all of this context? And I thought the idea of them being research specimens was fascinating. It totally explained Axelâs complex personality, and it also added an additional layer of tragedy to his whole story. Axel was NOT in the Organization by choice. He was a victim. And Isa was basically Terra 2.0. Though unlike with Terra, Isaâs closest friend doesnât even know heâs a vessel.Â
That he is also suffering. Axel just thinks Isaâs forgotten about him. I really wanted to see them heal each otherâs âhurtâ. I wanted to see Isa get saved just as much as Terra, Aqua, and Ven. He was a victim. Riku, Lea, and Isa were all victims whose pain never got acknowledged by the story. So they never get to confront it and heal. Even though healing pain was the main theme of KH3.
Even though Axel had been eliminated in Kingdom Hearts II, since that time, had you considered having him appear again in his human form Lea?
Nomura: I thought a lot about that. Should I leave him as he was or should I bring him back again? However, when I considered the people that Lea wants to bring back, his existence plays a big role. I think Lea has successively become a key character.
Yes, Lea is a key character. According to Nomura, his pain was special. Heâs the only one who doesnât say Soraâs name out loud in the Blank Points ending. Because heâs planning to fix his own pain. He doesnât have to sit around and wait for Sora to do it. Thatâs why he sought out Mickey and Yen Sid in the first place.
Too Precious to Lose
Axel and I talked for a while about the things we canât bear to lose. Axel thinks that for Nobodies, itâs our pasts, because thatâs all we have to remember the pain of losing something.âRoxas
Axelâs whole relationship with Saix was to demonstrate that Lea has something important that heâs lost. Something that he wishes to recover. And he has the power to do this now. His Keyblade is called Flame Liberator. The Phoenix represents, âthe freeing of the spirit from the bounds of the physical.â It represents the point when a person recognizes their true nature and is liberated from suffering. Itâs the bird of resurrection and immortality. He finally has the strength to âprotect what mattersâ.Â
Roxas: What is it that youâre so afraid of?
Riku: Huh? Hmm⌠Losing something thatâs important.
Riku learned that you need to acknowledge the pain of losing someone you care about. That is the key to awaken someone whoâs lost in the Realm of Sleep. Because it shows how much you love them. This love gives the other person the strength to face their own pain, and return to reality again. Unconditional love is even more important than having the strength to protect what matters. Thatâs what Riku learned. Thatâs what Lea and Isa needed, too.
Yet in KH3, all of these lovely themes get tossed aside. Now Iâm supposed to just accept that Lea doesnât really need to save Isa. Heâs not really a victim. Heâs not really suffering. The mind control experiments and Isaâs scar werenât really that important to the plot. I. Was. So. Mad.
As bad as the long wait was, I could handle waiting a very long time to get proper closure. I am pretty patient when I have to be. But with these things, Iâll never get closure. The story will forever remain unresolved. And that just sucks. Two of the things I wanted to see the most. Things Nomura explicitly told us weâd learn more aboutâŚjust thrown in the trash. It was a total slap in the face as a fan.
And yet, I truly believe Nomura is deeply unhappy with KH3â˛s story, as well.
Hmm if I had to choose a favorite character, I would say Sora, and Noctis. Why them? Of course Sora, Iâve been together with him for more than ten years now, this is the first time Iâve been with a character for such a long time, so heâs very very special for me and heâs been adopted by Disney also, so heâs a very very good boy. More like a good son actually. âJul 2013
Around late 2013-2014, he was taken off of the FFXV project and it was drastically changed from his original vision. And Birth By Sleep Volume 2 was also cancelled around this same time. This interview was done before either of those things happened. Back then, he clearly had a lot of respect for what Soraâs character represented, and he was a lot more positive in his interviews overall.
âIf I had to pick, I am a person more on the dark side like Xehanort and co. I harness the burning anger in my heart into what I create. Kingdom Hearts IIIâs current development explodes very much in this sense. Each time, itâs a battle with Sora and co. who are the exact opposite of myself, itâs been over 10 years and yet we havenât reached a conclusion.â Â âOct 2014
Something drastically changed his outlook over that year. He said he was filled with âburning anger,â and started to distance himself from Soraâs character.
âI actually donât sympathize or empathize with Sora at all,â Nomura says. Instead, he relates to the gameâs mysterious villains, Xehanort or likely Ansem, anyone whoâs fallen prey to their dark natures. âI think Iâm closer to those characters, so Sora is like my enemy,â he says. âHow I always think of him is I would unleash my attacks on him, and then I draw him in a way that I think he will be able to make a comeback at me. In that sense, I really think that Sora is just like an opposite personality character to who I am.ââJune 2018
By the end of KH3â˛s development, he seemed to actively dislike Sora.
âThe Kingdom Hearts series has become a huge title nowadays and back then it was more like I was making it secretively in the corner, but now that a lot more people are involved I do feel that itâs not my title anymore, itâs everyoneâs title. And just talking about all this ⌠It actually kind of makes me really sad.ââJune 2018
ThisâŚdeeply saddened me, too. Because it explained so much about KH3â˛s story. To me, it didnât feel like Nomuraâs true vision. It just didnât feel like the same Kingdom Hearts I grew up with. The story was massively watered-down and the character arcs werenât resolved in a satisfying manner. At all.
It felt like the higher-ups wouldnât give Nomura full creative control because they needed to make the game as mainstream as possible. And that doesnât work with a story that has a decadeâs worth of side stories to resolve. So they canceled BBS Volume 2 and pushed for KH3â˛s story to be greatly simplified. And KH3â˛s entire story line got butchered in the process. And I think thatâs the real reason why Nomura wants to distance himself from the Xehanort arc, and also why he doesnât want to explain Isaâs scar. Heâs very depressed with how everything turned out and he wants to start over with a blank slate.

This is my final response to the toxic waste of space that is intotheventures, aka the KH2-hating anon troll who is literally insane over the fact that KH2 is the most beloved game in the franchise. I didnât want to pollute the KH Trinity blog with more of his nonsensical bullshit.
(BTW the REAL trinity is Birth By Sleep + 1 + Chain of Memories).
That makes no sense whatsoever, because that leaves a blatantly incomplete story.
What is natural about Sora falling to his knees for Riku? Nothing.Â
He wasnât doing to âfor Rikuâ. He did it because he thought Riku was dead, all the evidence he was getting pointed to Riku having died, and he was overcome with relief that Riku, his best friend, was actually still alive after all. It was not an intentionally-written yaoi bait scene, no matter how fans took it.
What did the added AkuRoku scenes in Final Mix add to the story? Nothing.Â
Iâm not talking about Final Mix, Iâm talking about the original KH2.
But yeah, that scene had no purpose being there.
Also âhe made me feel like I had a heartâ is cringy.
âCringeâ is the new, ill-defined buzzword this clod throws around to bash KH2.
And how is it cringy? It is quite literally saying what Roxas did for Axel.
Have you looked at a single reaction command? Sora chopping a building in half isnât a shallow âbadassâ presentation? Itâs all style, no substance, itâs more blatant than anything in any other KH game.
Except in KH3 where you get Keyblades that transform into new weapons of ultimate power, can summon fucking Disney World rides to inflict massive damage upon your foes, has Sora running up walls and even jumping on falling boulders, new reaction commands that feature more flashy âbadassâ moves, shotlocks where there are even MORE âbadassâ moves to be pulled off (something that was also in BBS), Flowmotion where youâre flying all over the place...literally everything about KH3 is more âall style, no substanceâ than KH2. Itâs right there in front of everyoneâs eyes, and youâre only denying it because you are a hypocritical, intellectually dishonest freak.
Sora became more idiotic (he wasnât this dumb in DDD, contrary to popular belief, he was just blissfully unaware and let his guard down) and hostile, constantly taunting and insulting his opponents for little to no reason (contrary to popular belief, he was not like this in the other games)
âContrary to popular beliefâ, and then you donât back up your claims. Yes, Sora WAS that dumb - no, much dumber -in DDD, and even in KH3 there were more âlol, Soraâs stupid!â moments than in KH2, with his friends constantly mocking him about it. He was also just as hostile toward opponents in KH and COM, including to the point of killing them, and thatâs not even factoring in Roxas combining with him at the start of KH2. There is nothing remotely OOC about Sora in KH2, youâre just whining about him not being the pure, positive soul you want him to be
Kairi became a shallow love interest
And yet she had a shit-ton more mitigating qualities than in KH3, which you deny.
Riku was more sullen
Because behaving exactly like the cocky asshole he was before wouldâve indicated that he had no remorse for anything he did and had learned nothing, had suffered no consequences. You say âsullenâ, I say âhumanâ.
Namine only appeared for brief scenes and had little personality
How is that a problem? KH2 was never meant to be a big Namine-focused game.
Roxasâ angst was really overdone.
Again, no explanation as to how/why.
Personally, I think his angst over being completely fucked over was proportionate.
Too often he just magically solved the problems of various Disney characters, like Simba.
Yes, which he also does in the other games, including KH3. By this logic, he was a Gary-Stu in the original game because he trapped Jafar in the lamp and not Aladdin.
Heâs not a Gary-Stu in DDD because he ended up failing the exam after Xehanort rigged it, and his idiocy cost him greater than in KH2.
Iâll give you that one. Riku was the Gary-Stu of 3D, not Sora.
KH3 connects all of the worlds and is better at not having filler.
Again, how/why? You cite no examples, and canât defend against the MANY examples of people in their reviews of KH3, both text and video, saying how the Disney worlds are probably the biggest case of them being filler yet, as Sora has literally no reason to be messing around in any of them, and what the Organization gets out of them is incredibly nebulous and ultimately doesnât really matter either.Â
A lot of things are just brought up and either resolved too quickly (like the âI canât use the Keyblade!â scene or just dropped (âWhile youâre there, the nature of that world may tempt you to do something dark. You must resist that temptation at all costs!â).
Again, just like almost every other KH game, including/especially KH3.
None of the rest of the cast really contribute anything, most are just plot devices to pad out the character count. Kairi didnât do anything better than she did in 1, Rikuâs screentime was mostly spent lamenting about his very existence, HPO did nothing anyone else couldnât have done, same with Namine, their roles are mostly interchangeable and obligatory. Plus KH2 had a much larger cast of OCs than KH1 + CoM so itâs a much more glaring flaw.
Kairi, Riku, HPO, Namine, etc. all do things that Sora absolutely could not do and would have failed in his quest without. You are confusing âscreentimeâ with âcontributionsâ - none of them have the screentime Sora does (because heâs the fucking main character), but they all play the roles they are supposed to for the story. Again, not that different from most other games, including KH3 where thereâs an even LARGER cast of OCs, and yet youâre constantly defending that game despite it doing the exact same things you perpetually cry about KH2 doing, and usually doing them worse.
Submit your own character: The Organization.
How the fuck are the villains a case of âSubmit your own characterâ?
Sex scene: Obviously none, but Kairiâs panties are close enough. In no other game was she used for fanservice/sex appeal.
The panties werenât an actually thing you were supposed to see in-game, and if you think she wasnât used for fanservice/sex appeal with her equally titillating short-skirt design in KH3, youâre fooling yourself.Â
âThat was undeniable proof that we totally owned you lamers!â (This sounded outdated in 2006)
Heâs part of a computer simulation run by an old man. This is how said old man thinks that teenagers actually talk. Itâs actually pretty brilliant.
âSorry, âMommyâ, your poopsies are toast!â (Cringe)
How?
âHmph, maybe you should have kept some to yourself.â (This maybe fits Riku, but NOT Sora!)
Again, how?Â
âYou gonna cry?!â (OOC, and doesnât make sense in context. Frustrated Jacob even made fun of this line.) âI guess you think you can psych me out by saying really random stuff!â (Like the above, FJ made fun of it.) âTough talk for someone who stood on the sidelines while his Nobody flunkies did all the fighting!â (WTF)
Basically âWaaah, Soraâs a meanie-head to the poor Nobodies!â Gag me.
â[Maleficent]âs toast.â (Cringe, doesnât sound cool in the least.)
So âbadass presentationâ is bad, yet you hate a line if it doesnât sound âcoolâ. Got it.
âLowlife.â (OOC)
HOW? DEFINE your goddamn TERMS, you utter twat!
âI bet you canât even fight!â (OOC, just sounds like a prick)
âJust give it a rest! Youâre Nobodies! You donât even exist! Youâre not sad about anything!â (He says this after meeting Axel, Roxas, and Namine. Plot hole + OOC)
âThen stop moping and DO something!â (later) âWhy stick around if heâs not even gonna try?â (later) âCâmon, Goofy.â (This is too OOC to be Sora.)
Again, you want Sora to be perfect and nice to everyone. Got it.
In short, your ranting and raving means nothing. Not to me, not to anyone. You can keep up your insipid KH2-hate posts on your fringe blog, you can keep spamming the same messages in peopleâs ask boxes when they dare criticize other KH games over KH2, but KH2 is always going to be the most beloved entry in the franchise, KH, COM and KH2 are always going to be the real KH Trinity, and you arenât changing peopleâs minds on that. Ever.
And now, to quote the great Ansem the Wise:
Weâve said enough! FAREWELL!

THE MUN PLAYS KH3
Here are my notes/comments I made while playing through KH3. The thoughts that went through my head.
***SPOILERS FOR EVERYTHING POSSIBLE. SPOILERS. SPOILERS.***
Tuesday, Jan 29th. 5:00 pm.
-Finally home and ready to play. Colored lights on, fluffy pants on, favorite blanket nearby, cats fed, pizza in oven, cold water in fridge, juice smoothie drink standing by. Waiting on my pizza to finish so I can eat dinner while listening to the title screen music. Have not put game on yet. (Just so happened to get my Marluxia keychain the other day too! Got my game today.)
-Here we goooooOOOOOO.
-OATH ORCHESTRAL IS SO PRETTY. Also expected recap. I bet there will be a lot of flashbacks in the game (update: not at all).
-Cable town seems a precarious place to live- also a pain to get around. Pretty. thereâs a LOT of islands. (Update: homeworld of Keyblade wielders? Or base)
-Eraqus playing dumb? Â Messing with Xehanort? Or is he actually just like that and doesnât know.
-Queue intro. Music feels off slightly but that could just be because I saw the trailer one first. Also new Marluxia content, gonna need a gif of that little clip jumping over the scythe.
-Darkside, of course. Nostalgia reasons. Would have been more interesting if they changed up the fight with him, I think. Heâs always been a pretty lame fight.
HERCULES WORLD
-Cutscenes feel much more natural (first reaction). Also Donald getting shit on, always fun. (Update: the amount of shitting on each other in this game is unreal)
-Herculesâ new voice⌠Is it new? IDK, but I find it unnerving.
-The Instagram loading screens are weird? Not a big deal.
-Maleficentâs much needed glow up.
-The graphics are odd because some things look super good and then some things look kinda weird sometimes. IDK I just started. Generally very pretty.
-SORA, DONALD, GOOFY. Is this going to be a thing again? (Update: yes, it is)
-Guess Phil isnât going to talk at all? Sort of weird (Update: speaking of NOT SPEAKING. Aeleus and Dilan. Not a single peep. Wow.)
-Xigbarâs voice is changing into Xehanortâs now. Someone help him.
-Holy shit an NPC. WTF was that scene??? I think thatâs all that needs to be said here. Just, what? How did that even work? No idea where the girl was/how far? Didnât see any fire? Too slow? Yeeted into the universe. Little girl saved???
-Jumping around when you get hit with fire is annoying.
-Fighting those Titans was a shirt storm. It was soooo janky for me. (update: the combat in this game is incredibly aerial based)
-âMay your hear-- ?â Unsure if game bugged or not. (Update: I get it now. Thanks, epilogue.)
-So Axel DOES get an outfit, wonder if weâll ever see him wear it. (Update: AT THE VERY END
-Phone call. Is it my boy IENZO??? Oh, nope. D: WAIT, there he is.- -MOODY AELEUS??? What does he have against Roxas? Just because he left the Organization? Yeah, like Axel. Stop the bias against the other Org members.
-GODDAMMIT they did it again with the title card.
TWILIGHT TOWN
-Seifer and gang left for a âheroâs journeyâ.
-IENZO SPYING? IENZO CHUCKLE. Ienzo didnât know= that makes sense. Heâs soâŚhappy (Update: he really is chipper in this game) -KIDNAPPED EVEN? -Just get Even to make him a body. -I too could go for some hot wings, little girl -Talking about Sora. I figured, but I hoped.
-Darn you Axel for being attractive -DILAN
ITâS MARLUXIA TIME. MARLUXIA TIME. MARLUXIA TIME
-What a lovely world; everyoneâs having a nice time⌠It sure would be a shame, if someoneâŚ.ruined it.
-Mar you creep. PINK EYES?
-FAVOR? Oh. :I Balance, eh? Do you believe that Mar? Also would rather forget? Himself, or does he mean Sora?
-Marluxia does indeed dislike nicknames.
-Is Marluxia really out to protect the light/Rapunzel for balance? If it were anyone else itâd be easy to write off. (Update. Like Larx for this story itâs just about making sure they have the PoH backups)
-Time for Mar to be an ass. Lol. Sounded like he wasnât even trying.  He likes it when they run. Also I guess Mar tied Flynn up in this version? -HEâS SO PRETTY -SLEEP BOY! AlsoâŚMar? New power? Lol. How handy, wish I could do that to myself. (Also the comment about him being good at sleeping or something? Guess he knows that from DDD? When they were all there at the end. Or upon learning he was in a pod for a year.)
-The bosses thus far have been huge and really annoying to hit/air battles.
-On Marluxia, still looks like theyâre just using him for Nort fodder at this point. Even though it still makes no sense at all.
-And Iâm sure thatâs all Iâm gonna get this game for Marluxia.
-ALSO, Â Reapers baby. CALLED IT.
-Get Even to make one! Well Goofyâs right, Ienzo might be able to do it. OH MY GOD I CALLED IT. Good job Riku for being smart.
-*Sidenote: If you havenât seen Tangled some things might seem disconnected to you as a player. (Update: this goes for most of the Disney worlds actually.)
TOY STORY
-Final Fantasy??!?!?! LOL Riku and Noctis fusion
-WTF. Shot by YMX into Square Enix? Oh nope, Gigas.
-OOO Woody burn. No one loves you Xehanort.
-Should have been ,âThereâs a snake in my bootâ
-ANOTHER Woody burn.
-I feel like Young Xehanort learned something they already knew???
-OH YEP. Need Even. I wonder if Aeleus and Dilan will talk in this game (Update: nope)
-OOOO Evil meeting. Everyone yell so you can hear each other. DAMN IT VEXEN, you mad science man. At least itâs a believable reason for Vexen. Unlike Marluxia, which is total bullshit
-Gummi flying takes forever.
FROZEN. Ready to see my girl Larxene
-This is literally the my friends are my power game with the way the combat is set up (Update: Very Aerial and AOE oriented gameplay)
-Also enemies have a lot of HP
-Lol. Oh yeah, memory loss. They filled her in.
- Using the electricity to move the blocks and trap them⌠I can be like, ok Iâll buy that. But this is a complex-ass labyrinth
Along with Marluxiaâs sleep thing and now this,⌠Headcanon that itâs due to Xehanort influence possibly?
-Larxene Nobodies! They look like ninjas. YEP. Just checked. Called Ninjas.
-Giant Larxene knife symbols on wall. Classy.
-Did Larxene just show Elsa up with that labyrinth btw?
-LET IT GO. LET IT GO. âI donât know what I just sawâ. lol
-What is with all this Larx ice using? I dun like it >.<
-Again boss is up so high the fight is really floaty and crazy
-What girl??? Who??? Namine? Kairi? Streli? Not Larxene . Must be Kairi. (Update: STILL DONâT KNOW THE GIRL. Future game plot point)
-KARATE Aqua
-Oh god, not Pooh Bear. Please be optional.
-Ienzo has an Instagram.
MONSTERS INC
-Alright Vani where you at?
-LMAO Sully just grabs him and throws him in a door xD That is a GOLDEN moment
-Ienzoâs gonna be the one who saves Xion Roxas and Ventus. Nice.
-This is âshit on each other the gameâ isnât it?
-Oooo evil meeting. Â MY PALS. Marluxia is WOKE as fuck., heâs like nah he just wants our empty husk bodies as vessels. Â Larxene ainât having it, yep, thatâs what I thought. You? Canon âMarlyâ Omg Benched, I believe it. REBEL GROUP. REBEL GROUP. Â (Update: I chanted this in my head a lot)
WHAT??? Another purpose? Luxord in. Â TELL US THE PURPOSE? All four of them? Wow. Demyx and Luxord in Union X confirmed. :/ Not a fan of this. Too many keyblades.
Ugh I want more plot Dx Gotta do Pirates.
*So it does seem like the four of them donât want to be in the Org? But again they arenât doing anything about it so???
So the reason they let them back (Mar and Lar even though traitors) is because they want their ancient keyblade powers. (Update: This is never mentioned again. Like, why does it matter to Xehanort? Did Xehanort pull them out of time? More questions)
PIRATES
- Vexen and Lux. Oooo Vexen not obeying. Luxooooord. REBEL GROUP. REBEL GROUP. -Pausing air fight to feed cats. Not enjoying this flying oof. Thank goodness it isnât all shooting -Who needs air? -Wow nice ship and sails Luxord -Whatever you want eh Luxord? -Gonna honor the rules Lux? Did he lose on purpose? -Hope eh? -LOL No Parley. OOF breath on his face, into the ocean. Luxord just got burned. First Vanitas now Luxord - Dramatic walk scene? Â Awwww
-GDI Axel change your clothes -Was thinking this at the first scene but GDI I know people are going to ship these two
-Here comes darkqua? -A tale of two Ansems. Feeling Namine guilt? -Hayner bout to get FUCKED. WHAT GIRL? -WHAT THE FUCK? Nobodies? Who doing this??? -FUCK itâs Vexen. Good Vexen? What? :o Is he lying??? FUCK CLIFFHANGER. I appreciate all the diff character interactions in this game though. Does Vexen secretly have a heart of gold and is in on the REBEL GROUP?
BIG HERO 6
- Data Riku or Repliku? Going with Repliku. But the enemy is very codedesque. Also Data Riku is just Data, no body. Could also be timetravel bs - Replica confirmed. Not sure if itâs the same âReplikuâ - Hoping actual Repliku will come back. Riku did mention his other me after all
ALL PLOT FROM HERE ON OUT FINALLY
-Darkqua music was great
-Aaand sheâs gone. Again. OR NOT
-Finally these two: Vexen and Demyx. DUNCE. LMAO their fighting. REBEL VEXEN. Whatâs in it for you, Demyx??? UHHH Not becoming Xehanort. (Demyx continues to be a douche character). Marluxia? Maybe. DEMYX TIME. Oh my god. Was that intentional??? LMAO Demyx is so âuselessâ no one expects him to do anything. Nice FAMILY REUNION
VEXEN YOU LEGEND. I always liked him. Now itâs up to you Marluxia >:Y I think Vexen may have been talking about Ansem the Wise. Also may not still completely trust him because it says he went back willingly. Unless he changed his mind when learning about Ansem the Wise. (Update: Nope, Vexen really is a legend. I love him).
CASTLE OBLIVION -Vani fight, nice. Great music -HE UP. Go visit your old friend Mar.
-Ventus gets to meet both Axel and Marluxia as adults. How odd.
-Sudden Saix. So casual. WHAT GIRL? WHAT GIRL???? Is it Strelitzia? Skuld? New character? (Update: Again, future plot point.)
-Repliku with Riku.? YEP. DOPE. Save Namine? (Update: Yep. To protect Namine).
BATTLE TIME
-Enter Terranort. Shock for Ven to see. -Axel got fucked. -SHIT AN F5. - Everyone died. The end -STARS???? More pieces???? WAHHHT PAST? Union X Club??? Streli?! Dâx
The Final World :O
-DEAD.
MARLUXIA? NO, VENTUS. YEP Ventus. AwâŚ
-Chirithy is great.
-Vexen gonna save the day with a replica? And Demyx  lol. They both got benched. What a team up. (Update: And we never heard from them again. They literally just dipped from the Org and none of the Norts did anything. (Update: No idea what happened to Demyx. He dropped off the replica and was outie).
-DĂJĂ VU. Oof.
-EPHEMERA! THE KEEEEEYS. All the dead people
-UNION LEADERS KEYS. Also all the others, but I believe I saw five? What Iâm saying is those four-five Starlights= Dandelion Union Leaders.
-??????? YEN SID DID SOMETHING HOLY SHIT
-Is Vexen with the coat guys up there??? -Also Demyx??? -Do they have a PLAN??? (Update: Nope, they literally just dipped).
-MARLUXIA THEME I HEAR IT
-MY CHILDREN WHY R U WITH XEHANORT???
-Thank you, Luxord awww.  Such a cool guyâŚ(Update: Sora still has the Wild Card)
AWww Larx. Heart tank? NO THANKS. Â Along for the ride- With?? (Marluxia?)
MY BOOOOOY Dx
*MEMORIES BACK???? Real laugh. A smile. He DID forget. Always about âpurpose for being with Marâ. How did I predict that? (Update: Marluxia amnesia confirmed? Also why the heck didnât /he/ rebel. Makes no sense. I blame Nomura. He also gave no reason for why he was following Xehanort. Again, itâs pretty BS. NO EXPLANATION.)
Riku down. Very interested in what Xigbar will have to say⌠Repliku repossession! NOOOO. Repliku stay! Roxas, of course.
PROTECT NAMINE. Dâ:
He just wanted that keyblade bro. What?????? Why the backwards drama D: (Update: Nope. Xigbar just playing the role, or should I say Luxu).
Fucking Axel. That smart mouth.
Saix would have let him die; also I knew it was Xion from trailers.
:O XION. He knew.
And Roxas is in. The music has been SO GOOD.
Vexen  Zexion Ansem Demyx. LUL GET FUCKED Xemnas.
WHO IS THE HER>>>>
Vanitas sounds higher pitched in this game.
GUARDIAN??? This is weird.
I donât believe in perma dead Kairi.
WHENâS THE BOX? ALSO Luxordâs Wild Card!
*Btw guess Vexen and Demyx just left so the other Norts replaced them instead of doing anything about it
Awww, Saix. Or rather, Isa.
Didnât shed any tears, but the part that got me feeling the most was with Xehanort and Eraqus tuff at the end, surprisingly
I KNEW IT WOULD END WITH A BEACH PARTY. Again, awwww, Saix.
*** WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO DEMYX? What did he even do to help besides delivering the replica LMAO??
WHY DIDNâT I GET TO SEE MY BOY IN THE ENDING? Maybe secret ending. âš (Update: Nah)
Oh yeah, Sora vanished btw.
*Xehanorts VA could have had a better performance.
-Wow. Xigbar really was the MoM? Union leaders alive?  OH, nvm heâs Luxu. Guess he picked up on MoMâs behavior and mannerisms. Also been through many bodies I see⌠No Ava.
WHATâS IN THE BOX GDI.
UH OH. New game board. 7 evils. Five being leaders and Xig, 2 Unkowns. Please donât put Mar through more of that, IE make him be in another Org/group.
They never opened the box, did they.
