WIP Word Game
tagged by @pixiedurango for this interesting little game!
I was given Knives and Poison (classic Crow~) and have to provide a sentence that starts with each letter, which should be Fun if nothing else :3c
"Keep her away from me and I will be.” She bit the words off sharply, teeth grinding. “I'll explain later.”
"Not this rabid dog that has overtaken my cousin.” And then he was leering forward towards her. “And we don’t need the yapping stray from House de Riva mucking up another job. Every time you are involved, things get worse. Maybe it’d be better if you stayed away from Treviso, too.”
It broke her heart into so many pieces she feared they’d never quite slot back into place.
Varric was on the mend. If she left the dagger, it would be his problem. Not hers. She would be free.
Each brush of a dagger against her bare skin had her heart racing faster and faster. If she leaned into his blades, how deep would he cut? How much was he willing to hurt her like this? His every strike was quick, calculated. Precise.
Spite flinging their head back to crack painfully against her nose wasn't helping either and she let out a strangled choke as blood gushed down her face. She was so tired of blood.
"Prove it.”
"Oh, don’t bother. ‘You're never supposed to ask a Crow how they came to be,’ right, Rook?”
It was simply bloody and miserable and full of pain. And here he was, willing to pry open the wounds himself and present the bloody mess inside just to prove a point.
She grit her teeth, simmering for a moment before she sank to her knees. With the adrenaline wearing off, everything hurt. She slowly pulled Lucanis’ limp form to lay flat on his back before looking up at Emmrich.
One step into the glowing hall had the hairs on the back of her neck stand up, an electric hum of danger shooting through her. She wasn't alone. Her dagger was in her hand before she could think to summon it, spinning on her heel to confront whoever thought they could sneak up on her. The motion ended in an awkward teeter as she found Lucanis leaning against the wall next to the entryway, a book in hand.
"No attachments, I was going to be sent away. Friends, family, a sense of home, none of that was for me. Your own daughter. You should have knifed me in the crib. It would have been less cowardly.”
I tried to find stuff I haven't shared before in snippets so hopefully it's all new! If you'd like to play along, feel free to tag me as the source! I love the little previews and teasers~
Your words shall be: Shadow and Vicious
#you would not believe how many of the K results were just tagging Mage Killer#it was 90% of them lmao that was Such a hard letter to find a sentence for#Varric and Viago fighting for that V spotlight tho it was a close fight#literally anyone can play along I'm just very tired#this was fun!!! once I figured out how to make it only find capitalized letters anyways lmao#also yes I Had to use a Spite sentence for one of the S options#I had many to pick from but I like him getting to be violent as a treat (esp against Renn)#anyways! thank you!! Petra had been pacing in front of the house for twenty minutes now, ignoring the annoyed sighs coming from her best friend. She was dreading going to the party, having been content with celebrating by herself with a bottle of wine in hand and Netflix playing in the background. But Nifa insisted she couldn`t celebrate finishing their first year of med school in such a sad way. It wasn`t that Petra hated parties, quite the opposite. People always told Petra that she`s a ray of light. But HE was going to be there.
Levi Ackerman. Her rival. Her archnemesis. And unfortunately for Petra, the smartest and most handsome man she had ever seen. Petra couldn`t help herself but roll her eyes at her luck. For as pretty as he was, Levi was equally annoying. Her smug face annoyed Petra, making her want to punch him and kiss him at the same time. His careless attitude and the low effort he put into studying while also being among the best people in her year made Petra dislike him. She was pretty sure he felt the same way about her, as they constantly bickered every time they had the chance to interact. Petra groaned again at the thought of running into Levi, and she was sure she was getting called "pipsqueak" again.
"Petra, as nice as this sidewalk is, it forgot to offer me a drink."
Petra turned towards Nifa, with a spiteful look on her face- "You heard him yourself! He told Hange he would be at the party." She couldn`t believe her best friend was so insensitive as to ignore her suffering.
Nifa grinned, amused by her best friend`s attempt to hide the massive crush she had on the "bad boy" of their year. Levi was quite the player, switching dates almost weekly. Nifa never told Petra, but she noticed their trips to get ice cream and wine in the middle of the night were related to a girl posting Levi on their Instagram story.
"Oh, yes, the mean hottie. Who knows, maybe bad boy came alone tonight"- Nifa said while winking at Petra.
Petra gasped, faking being offended at the thought of being Levi`s date. She would never admit to Nifa that she found the most annoying man she knew extremely attractive- "He`s not even pretty, Nifa!"
Nifa grinned, amused by the act Petra tried to keep up. She got a smirk on her face at her next thought- "Then you won`t mind seeing his arm around a pretty blonde tonight, right?
Petra couldn`t help the annoyed look on her face, and when Nifa burst into laughter at her reaction, she made up her mind. She was going to prove to both Nifa and Levi that he was irrelevant to her. She gathered the courage and made her way to the door- "Are you ready to go, or do you want to ask the sidewalk out for a date?"
When she made her way into the house, the first thing Petra was met by was Levi`s beautiful, stupid, smug face. She cursed under her breath, and Levi got amused at the reaction his mere presence got out of her. He didn`t dislike Petra, no, quite the opposite. She was beautiful and smart, and he genuinely enjoyed being in her presence. But getting her riled up over the smallest things was amusing. He raised his drink towards her, and Petra just rolled her eyes and turned her back towards him.
"The nerve on that guy! I haven`t been here for one minute, and he already ruined my night."
Nifa merely laughed at Petra`s antics and pulled her by the hand- "I think Miss Grumpy over here needs a drink in her hand."
Levi blocked out Hange`s monologue about the latest articles she read, letting Erwin handle his girlfriend, and he let his sight rest on the petite ginger. His eyes hungrily went up and down her alluring figure, and they stopped to admire the way her tight dress hugged her wide hips and her behind. It wasn`t often that he got to admire her this way, as the loose white coat she wore in class didn`t do Petra`s body any justice. Hange obnoxious voice pulled Levi out of his fantasies- "Earth to Shorty, do you copy?"
Levi slapped their hand away from his shoulder, annoyed at the interruption. "Tsk, don`t put your germs on me, Four-Eyes."
Erwin chuckled, amused at the banter between his best friend and his girlfriend, which was proving to become a daily habit- "That`s not a nice way to refer to my girlfriend, Levi."
Levi shrugged and finished his drink in one go- "Alright, Brows, I`m going to get another drink."
Petra was taking a sip of her beer when she felt a warm breath on her ear- "I`m surprised they let a pipsqueak in here. Isn`t it past your bedtime already?"- Levi whispered in her ear, and Petra was sure he had a smirk on his stupid face. Petra closed her eyes, trying to form a sentence, but her mind was fuzzy from the closeness. She tried to pull her sleeve lower to hide the goosebumps forming on her skin.
"Are you sure you`re not a student at the clown academy, Ackerman?"
Levi chuckled, happy Petra was feeling feisty tonight. Teasing her was becoming one of his favorite day-to-day activities. "Good one, Ral." He took her empty beer bottle from her hands and passed another one to her- "Congratulations, by the way."
Petra raised her eyebrow, not used to hearing words of praise out of his mouth. She expected an insult following this, and was surprised when Levi merely took a sip of his beer- "Are you ironic?"
"Relax, Shrimp. I meant it."
Petra could feel her cheeks get red from anger, and she tried to keep herself from shouting- "Okay, Levi, you`re only a few centimeters taller than me. You`re the last person who should call me short."
Levi leaned in again, to whisper in her ear- "And yet I still get a reaction out of you every time."
Petra gulped, intoxicated by his scent invading her nostrils. She could feel herself growing agitated by his proximity, and she needed to get away from him.
"I need to use the restroom."
Petra almost ran up to the bathroom, ignoring the frown on Levi`s face or the look of concern on Nifa`s. She splashed her face with water and closed her eyes. Petra cursed at herself and her inability to stay away from Levi. She couldn`t lie to herself anymore: she liked him. Petra was trying to gather her thoughts when she heard the bathroom door open, and she gasped when the last person she wanted to see at that moment walked into the room. In her nervousness, she forgot to lock the door behind her, and she groaned at her luck. Levi seemed too preoccupied with drinking his beer to check his surroundings, and Petra waited for him to notice her presence.
Levi just stared at her with a curious look on his face, and Petra put her hands on her hips, annoyed at the apology that wasn`t coming out of his mouth.
"What the hell do you think you are doing? I could have been on the toilet!"
Levi shrugged, not showing any kind of remorse for his mistake- "Right. I didn`t see you."
Petra gasped at the nonchalance in his voice and tried to calm herself down. She wasn`t going to let him ruin her night. But when Levi was content with just staring at her, Petra was starting to get impatient. She pointed at the door- "Well, get out?"
Levi nodded, and Petra frowned when she heard the doorknob turn, followed by a series of curses leaving his mouth. Levi hit the door in his attempt to get it open, and Petra plopped down on the toilet seat, not believing the turn her night was taking. Levi hit the door again before turning to Petra- "It`s jammed."
Petra rolled her eyes, feeling on edge from being stuck in a room with the object of her desires- "I got that, thank you." Levi ignored her comment and sat down on the floor, and when he noticed the curious look on Petra`s face, he patted on the spot next to him.
Petra felt her cheeks go red at his invitation to sit so close to him, feeling tempted to give in to her desires and make a move on him. Her fear of being rejected got the better of her, and she tried to remain as rational as possible.
"Can`t you call Hange or Erwin to get us out of here?"
Levi looked through his pockets before cursing under his breath- "I don`t have my phone with me."
Petra groaned, the response being the one she dreaded the most - "Me neither, my bag is with Nifa."
Levi took another sip of his drink and pointed the bottle to her. She shook her head no, trying to resist the urge to put her lips where his had been mere seconds ago.
"I guess you`re stuck with me until someone comes around."
They stayed in silence, with Levi focusing on his drink while Petra analyzed every detail of her surroundings. She did everything she could to keep her eyes away from him, but a few minutes into it, she gave in. Petra let her eyes roam, admiring his neatly cut raven black hair that she wished she could run her fingers through, his grey eyes that she always found a blue tint in, resting her sight on his muscular arms. Despite his short stature, Petra knew he was well built from the nights she spent stalking his social media and thirsting over his beach photos.
Levi pretended not to notice her staring, but when he saw her biting her lip, he couldn`t contain the smirk forming on his face.
"I prefer blondes."
Petra could feel herself growing red, embarrassed at being caught, so the only option she could think of was to try to deny it. The room was starting to get hotter, and she could feel Levi`s eyes on her. She gulped, trying to think of anything to get her out of the situation- "As if I would ever look at you."
Levi`s smirk grew larger, and when he got up from his spot to make his way to her, Petra`s eyes widened. It was hard enough to think of a good excuse without him being close to her.
"Oh, but you do."
Petra gasped, not expecting Levi to be this direct, and she could swear her face had never been redder in her entire life.
"You think I don`t notice the way you look at me?" Levi crouched down on her level, and Petra gulped when his face was so close to hers he could feel his breath on her lips. Petra`s sight drifted to his lips, and Levi didn`t miss her gesture.
"The way you bite your lip when you think I`m not looking at you?"- he told her while he ran his thumb over it. Petra merely stared back at him, too caught up in his spell to formulate any words. At the sight of her flushed cheeks, her parted lips, and dilated pupils, Levi couldn`t help himself anymore and captured her lips in a messy kiss. Petra closed her eyes and rested her hands on his shoulder, pulling him closer to her.
Levi pulled her down on the floor with him and wrapped his arms around her, running one of his hands up and down the small of her back. Petra moaned into the kiss, opening her mouth to let his tongue in, and he wasted no time. Levi devoured her mouth until they were both out of breath, and when they pulled away from one another, Petra opened her eyes to be met by a smug smile painted on his face.
"Forget it. You fucking suck."
Levi chuckled and merely pulled her in for another kiss. When he bit her lip, Petra whimpered at the pleasure he was making her feel, and she eagerly let her tongue explore his mouth. She gasped when Levi pulled her to sit on his lap, and she moaned at the feeling of his erection against her core. She ground herself on him in an attempt to get some relief and let one of her hands roam around his erection. Her eyes widened when her hand stumbled upon a phone in his pocket, and Levi could feel her smile against his lips.
She pulled back to look at him with a smile on her face and kissed his ear lobe before whispering- "There`s nothing wrong with the door, is there?"

i have basically covered the material in this post several times on my twitter. but this is, in my opinion, the only s*xy t*mes with w*ngxian take you need.
(cw transphobia, transphobic slurs, antiblack racism, mentions of csa and bestiality in fiction)
edit 6/10/21: hi! i’m realizing people are still reading this! this was written in response to aja romano’s vox article on the fic that was published in late february of this year. i had been frustrated with how their article seemed to miss the point in many ways, because they never talked about the substance of the fic. which, i mean, fair. i wouldn’t want to read a 1million word fic either.
but i already had, so i thought i’d write about some things that i believed needed to be part of the conversation. namely, that its author wasn’t a harmless troll, but a person i genuinely disliked who i believed should be deplatformed.
i think virtual1979 is a bad person.
i think a lot of people mainly know about sexy times the phenomenon more than they do sexy times the fic itself. i have the dubious honor of being one of the few people who has actually read large portions of the million word fic, and that’s why i wanted to write this meanspirited hit piece.
the fic is down right now and the author’s notes and comments have both been deleted, which is why i cannot provide screenshots. however, these are all quotes i have saved from when the fic was online, and i’m happy to talk with anyone if you feel any of these quotes are mischaracterizations of the fic.
i also want to be clear this is not a “callout post” and i’m not trying to “cancel” them or whatever. i am just explaining why i don’t like them, why i don’t feel bad they’re being harassed, and why i do not find them sympathetic at all, and perhaps why you should also adopt these stances.
let’s start with transphobia.
sexy times with wangxian is transphobic. this much is apparent from the tags. virtual1979 tagged the following: F*tanari, d*ckgirl, Sh*male. they use this language in the chapters that include a character with both a vagina and a penis.
they refer to this character (wei wuxian) with the pronouns “he-she.” the following excerpt is a fair representation of how this wei wuxian is referred to in the chapters where wei wuxian has a vagina and a penis.
[Lan Zhan] would never be turned on by a female, and he would actually be turned off by a drag queen - but this… this Wei Ying, it’s Wei Ying, and he-she looks [...]
i know these words are common in porn categories, but they are also slurs. virtual1979 also uses hermaphrodite to refer to this set of anatomy, which is not strictly a slur, but definitely a stigmatizing choice of language.
they have repeatedly made clear they are not open to criticism. they have also since removed the comment section. making an intersex character for the express purpose of using transmisogynistic language towards them in your million word porn fic isn’t annoying the way their tags are, it’s actively fucked up.
fanfiction has a transphobia problem, and if we’re talking about sexy times with wangxian in any capacity, we must be clear: sexy times with wangxian is part of that problem too.
secondly, virtual1979 is also complicit in ao3’s racism problem.
i think the way they write about chinese characters and settings is annoying and racist, but they are a malaysian chinese person, so i do have some sympathy for them. i am committed to having some patience for people who are annoying if they themselves are working through the prejudice they have faced.
they’ve commented as much:
Not gonna lie, this fic has been a steep learning curve for me despite my roots being Chinese as well, but I have absolutely zero knowledge in some of these aspects!
and i’m happy on some level they can get in touch with their roots. who among us has not been cringe and diaspora. any criticisms i have of their portrayal of chinese people will stay private and be made to other people of color.
i’m going to be clear here i don’t think the actual comment they made makes them super evil or anything. but this essay IS clearly in response to That Article, which did mention racism in fandom. so.
i think we have all seen the infamous karen comment they made, in which they compared people who criticized their tagging with “Karens,” equating antiblack state violence to... mean comments on ao3? and “SJWs,” which, eye roll. no ageism but you’re 41 why the hell are you complaining about sjws
anyway. i am deeply frustrated by the co-option of the word karen. a stand-in for a particular type of racist violence white women specifically can and do inflict has become fused with that reddit-type mommy issue “can i speak to the manager” internecine white resentment.
so their trivialization of antiblack racism is another reason i don’t like them. again i KNOW it’s petty to point this out here, but this to me shows that virtual is afflicted with the same kind of fandom brainrot that aja is, where everything comes back to that same sort of self-centered bullshit.
sorry for that jab. julian told me that aja thought that cql was about callout culture and all i could think was “wow! just like virtual thinking that--” because i also have spent too much time on twitter this week.
this is just like. part of this ongoing pattern i’ve noticed with virtual, where they’re aware enough of real problems to acknowledge they exist (police violence, accessibility issues caused by their tagging) but are determined to double down on their minor relative persecution as king, shittily drawing parallels between like... real problems and fandom problems. equating the two or allowing the second to take priority over the former is like... par for the course for this type of person!
third, this is just another clarification on more parallels between ao3 discourse and sexy times that went completely unremarked on by That Article.
i would rather DIE than get into discourse. but why did they write this sentence:
Lan Zhan’s rational mind finally broke with a tsunami of pedophilic lusts [...]
by the way that is the start of a 430 word sentence. and yes this fic does contain hundreds of thousands of words of aged down wei wuxian. make of that what you will.
also why would you make wei wuxian teach baby chickens how to sexually pleasure him. do you hate these characters. what’s going on. i think mxtx should be able to sue virtual for that one.
there’s a very obvious connection between mainstream ao3 discourse and sexy times that went completely unremarked on in That Article. sexy times contains multitudes and some of those multitudes are bestiality and explicit childfucking.
this is not unrelated to fannish culture, they are not unfamiliar with fannish norms, blah blah blah. this is just normal fandom. they’re not subverting shit, they’re just a normal fan who unlike 99% of fanfiction writers on twitter, spends more time writing than posting. this has taken their fannish tendencies to cartoonish heights.
finally, they don’t care about mdzs or wangxian. they’re literally just horny and spiteful that’s it. this isn’t a question of like... “ohh they were a good faith participant in fandom until they went joker mode” and the REAL villain is society/ao3. like no they wanted to write shitty porn, and when they found out they were annoying people, they decided to double down because they could be the main character of the mdzs ao3 tag every time they found a spare hour to write.
here are some select receipts on that topic:
they do not care about canon:
MDZS has quite a complicated and expansive plot and history, and enough content that one can choose to tune out certain parts and still get to the end of the story in one piece. Also, because of its source, some fans may not fully realize the nuances, cultural aspects (ooh, cultural appropriation is another triggering topic) or the full breadth and depth of the source material, such as a person like me, who is half-baked in terms of knowing what the canon universe is all about. So I end up playing with characters and settings technically borrowed from the story, and make them do things that would otherwise run counter to the original source material - and that draws quite some flak from those opinionated people I mentioned just now. It's part of what makes the fandom toxic. It's like they're the self-appointed guardians of the source material and they act like they own the rights to question such questionble fanworks, and dare I say, try to take down those that cross certain lines too.
they are just horny:
After that giddines of extra drunken Lan Wang Ji scenes at the beginning, I'm blessed with Lan Wang Ji (Wang Yibo's, actually) fuzzy nips! Bless Bless Bless, and Amen! muahs the nips on the screen
anyway they did get nuked over wishing covid on people.
so yeah. i want to be really clear. this is my thesis: i do not feel bad for them. you should not either. i do not like them. you should not either. that’s ALL!!!!

Regina does her end of year goals check list but notices one item is still unchecked: 1) confess feelings to one Miss Swan, daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, mother of her Little Prince, pain in her own royal butt.
-narrowseyes at prompt, checks her back-
Well, this isn’t TOO bad. I’m cackling at the full title of Emma though Xd
On withthis one. Let’s hope I make something worthwhile… Or just something xd
“Regina? You said you wanted to show me somethingbefore the party?”
Standing from the chair she had been seated at eversince she had found the slightly wrinkled paper written in a haste, Regina tooka few steps closer to Emma, noticing the way the blonde’s breath hitched for asecond, her magic circling her eyes and giving them a glint of dirty white thatseeped through the blonde’s cheeks, crackling.
“I wanted to tell you something.” She began, hands infront of her, pressed against her own stomach as she wondered why, why she wasletting a year-old list haunt her enough for her to actually try something shehad already lost any remaining hope she could have ever had had. Lowering hereyes and glancing at the floor of the office, she almost smiled at the thoughtof a similar scene, many years ago, when she had remained seated on that chair, eyeing Emma with every bit of anger and hate she had thought to be the onlypossible feeling she would ever feel about the blonde. Digging her fingersfurther down her stomach, she glanced up again, at Emma’s worried face in wheremagic was already dispersing; green eyes scanning her, boring into her, as theblonde’s throat quivered.
Because there must be something on her voice, Reginathought, something that Emma should have caught. As much as she liked to callthe other woman an “idiot” Emma truly wasn’t that. And she knew, far far toowell, Regina’s mercuric moods.
“We are going to be late to the party.” She muttered, andRegina wanted to snort at that, at the quiet reminder of how they were otherswaiting for them, expecting them. She half-wondered how many times she had usedthat very same excuse on herself, that very idea of how there were othersbeyond the bubble they both managed to create whenever they let themselves tobe. Lowering her hands at her sides, she looked briefly at the coffee table infront of the chair she had been seated at, the simple-looking piece of paperthere glaring back as Emma followed her eyes, head tilting but not movingeither, rooted on the spot.
“Can you give me a few minutes?” Regina could hear thestrain on her voice, the quiver and she traitorously let her eyes wander backat Emma’s, at where the blonde’s glove-covered fingers rested, half-poking fromthe far too constricting pockets of her old red leather jacket. The one thatwas definetely not fitted for Maine’s cold. She knew, she had seen themalready, hundreds of times without the ring she had memorized so long ago. Hadeven been there when Emma had signed the divorce and yet she needed to refrainherself to ask Emma to show them to her, to see for herself the last monthsafter the merging of the realms hadn’t been a dream. A beautiful dream.
“Regina.” Emma’s voice was tentative, shaky even, butit still lowered slightly at her first syllable, so quiet even that it seemedlike the blonde wasn’t even pronouncing it at all.
Shaking her head, Regina rose one single hand, aflurry of purple sparkles rising from the movement, crackling like electricity downher arm as she lowered it again, flat against her side.
“It will only be a few moments. Then we can go.”
It was probably that last line, the implicit promiseof how they were going together to whatever party Snow was already throwing, what made Emma hum and glance again at the list sitting at the desk’s surface. It occurred to Regina far too late that the blonde had probably recognized herhandwriting, even from the slight distance she was standing from the table, butshe truly didn’t want to stop to ponder if the younger woman was actually ableto read it.
Closing her eyes for a moment, she pondered if shecouldn’t simply let it go. No one but her knew about the contents of the listafter all. The fact that Emma wasn’t married anymore shouldn’t… couldn’t…
But it mattered, it mattered to her and that otherRegina who had probably written that last entry out of spite. Maybe even drunkif the sloppiness on the “E” and “S” was anything to go by. It mattered in somekind of ludicrous idea because every time Regina tried to pinpoint when it hadbecome so important to her to actually be able to tell Emma how she felt shecame with examples upon examples of “almost” moments in where neither of themhad been able to neither voice or admit what they thoughts were.
Because if Emma always knew when she was lying Reginaalso knew how to read Emma’s face; had known for a long time. And so, feelingher magic spiking slightly on her chest, she snapped her fingers and let thepaper travel from the table to Emma’s hands, forcing the blonde to take itbetween her fingers, her usual paleness swapped by the smallest rosiness on hercheeks.
“Your year goals?” And there was some kind ofaloofness there, a mix of surprise and just the barest glint of confusion and disappointmentand Regina could only chuckle at that, at the way she saw Emma’s shoulders shagever so slightly, corded muscles relaxing and light disappearing from her eyes.
She wondered why she didn’t question Emma why; why shewas the one in need to admit feelings they both knew the other shared. She alsoknew the answer to that: Fear. And for that she merely pointed at the list, urging Emma to read the single item on the list that hadn’t been checked.
“I don’t remember when I made them exactly.” She letout, her voice less hoarse and tense but still terse and soft, still worried.Nibbling on her bottom lip she chastised herself inwardly as she felt her magicbiting her insides, running through her lungs in the form of spikes that madeher wince. “But I did. And I would want to check them all out.”
To be entirely honest if Regina would have let herselfdream of something like this she wouldn’t have come up with the implausiblescenario of giving that list to Emma, but she wanted to give Emma an actualoption of feigning confusion instead than being forced to answer a questionRegina had already felt on the way the blonde carried herself from a long time.
She had almost acted upon it that day in New York;back into an apartment that had only given her memories with Emma so close, soeager, she had felt the warmth of her magic -the one that was supposedlytrapped outside Storybrooke and yet not at all- running through her, making herstumble, almost admit a word, a feeling, she now felt hitting the back of herteeth. Wishing to escape her lips.
She watched as Emma read the list, a shadow of a smileappearing from time to time whenever the easy, stupid, small wishes made its appearance. The ones regarding a healthier life-style, the one asking for a bettersleep-pattern, the one who asked more time with Henry, grown up as he was now.Until, of course, green eyes latched onto that last item at the end of thelist, her own name staring back at her.
“Confessfeelings to one Miss Swan, daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, motherof my Little Prince, pain in my own royal butt.”
Letting out a nervous chuckle, Emma rose her gaze tohers, teeth firmly biting on her bottom lip now.
“I’m still a pain in your butt?” She asked, and therewas the same tentative tone, veiled with something else Regina wished thatcould only be hope. That same hope she had learnt to hate, to discard, time andtime again. “I thought we were already past that.”
Rolling her eyes, a little, feeling less nervous butstill on the edge, Regina took another step towards Emma, and then another asthe blonde didn’t budge, her hands falling to her chest, still holding thepaper against it.
“You will always be a pain in my ass.”
It was definetely the use of “ass” what made Emmalaugh a little freer and Regina wanted to chuckle at that but felt herselfunable to.
“So.” She began, and Emma’s magic sparkled, openingpaths on her uncovered skin Regina’s eyes were quick to follow, half wishing tobe able to touch them. “I…”
She licked her lips and halted herself, almost takinga step backwards as Emma closed the distance between them with an unusualenergic step, unusual at least for the woman who was slowly finding herselfafter so many years of doing the bidding of the ones who told her how to be,how to behave. Craning her neck, wondering momentarily why she wasn’t wearingher usual high-heels, Regina felt herself staring at Emma’s eyes, the greendarkened and covered in thousands of dirty-white specs of magic that made hertremble.
“Regina.” The blonde’s voice was rougher, devoid ofthe gentle reminder from earlier, hazy and quick on the way air came out of hermouth. “If you don’t kiss me right…”
Emma never needed to finish her sentence as Reginarose her hands and, tearing the list from the blonde’s hands, pulled her closerso roughly they both almost fell, her mouth searching Emma’s in an attempt toshow her that, yes, god yes, she wanted to kiss her. Right now.
Panting just slightly as she felt Emma’s lipsfollowing suit, Regina closed her eyes and cupped Emma’s cheek, skillfullyletting her hand go further, pulling the blonde’s locks on her hand and quicklypulling that into a fist, sinking herself further into Emma’s embrace.
Finally.
