ok long text. it's about Enif. oh and Charles
SO!!! i have a lot of thoughts. Enif story has a lot of potential and i have so many ideas for her but it is kind of stressful trying to put it all into words AND not make it sound like an endless string of nonsense. but i hope this helps a little (also yes if you want to help me out with suggestions/criticism please do!)
after Enif fought Liz during that Last Ceremony, Enif ran away (obviously). although I always envisioned the ceremony to take place the night before the Nile’s Comet incident so that Enif would not have too much time to worry about Liz going around looking for her (bc she would be already dead) and go straight to processing the events and dealing(?) with trauma, it needs more explaining! so: i think Enif could have a childhood best friend (or even ex-boyfriend that ended up on good terms) who very conveniently is a cop by then (disclaimer: yeah i don’t really like cops, but this is for convenience so hear me out).
Enif goes to this childhood friend and asks for help. she’s in complete distress but still knows that she has to be very careful about what she says. she tells her friend that she discovered Liz had a cult she knew nothing about and they tried to drug and hurt her (explaining why she’s shaking and crying and covered in blood). this is true, Enif IS the victim on the whole thing, but she knows it’ll be tricky to continue with this narrative if they eventually discover her role in the cult (she hurt people, she was trained for it. one step wrong and she goes straight to jail for what she did. even if she was never willingly participating). she still urges her friend to go look at the scene. once they get there, the place is completely empty. the entire cult ran away. they even took the bodies of the members Enif killed as she fought her way out. this is both great and terrible: there’s no crime she’s tied to, BUT now she’s lacking evidence AND realizes Liz is on the run, out there, looking for her. still, the cop believes Enif. after all, a big element of Enif’s character is that she’s very lowkey when not in cult-mode, and since she only does heavy things when she’s under some influence, nobody ever suspects her of doing bad things, not even herself lmao. she stays with her friend. she doesn’t sleep that night. the following day she’s incredibly paranoid and she barely eats. this is the first time she’s dealing with knowing the truth, and all that information makes her very sick. the night comes and the Nile’s Comet thing happens. Liz Bane is found dead. Enif’s friend is sent to go look at the scene and help with the investigation. Enif wants to cooperate and see Liz’s body to convince herself that she’s dead. soon evidence proves that Liz was linked to the cult Enif talked about. still, a lot of evidence is either hidden (Liz was always prepared for any situation) or destroyed, but the cop confirms that Enif was indeed a victim of a cult, and that suffices for him to help her change her last name, cover up the case and keep it hidden from the press, and omit it from her record so that she’s not linked to the cult in the future (yaaay convenience!)
just as they are getting started with the paperwork of the incident that very same night, the klokateers appear at the police station (we know that in canon Dethklok has their own police force so i’m exploiting that). Enif is there too, they are done interrogating her and she’s resting in a room nearby. enter Charles Foster Offdensen. he doesn’t see Enif and Enif doesn’t see him, but she hears him clearly. this is their first unofficial encounter, yippee. Charles starts asking questions about the case and demands all the files to be given to him. Dethklok was directly involved so the case automatically becomes their jurisdiction and the cops can’t do shit about it lol. Enif’s friend tries hiding her file and her testimony but fails. Charles is given everything, but he assures the cops that the case will not go out to the press. it’s unnecessary and kind of embarrassing for management to realize that Pickles the Drummer was involved directly with a death cult that nearly killed the entire band and nobody noticed, so he gives his word on keeping this a secret. in the other room, Enif doesn’t know if she should feel relieved that this is going to be kept a secret or if she should be terrified of this man, Charles, who is essentially going to know and own her darkest secrets. the latter proves to be the stronger feeling, as she develops from that day a deep fear of Dethklok’s manager. she sometimes has nightmares of him hunting her down and making her confess all the horrible stuff she had to do in the cult. only time proves that she and Charles are bound to cross paths repeatedly during their lives. as allies, friends, and enemies. (i would add "lovers" too, but like in a tension-only way. they never act on it lmao)
so in summary yeah i’m adding a very convenient best-friend-who-is-a-cop to the story. he will also help explain why Enif has never faced consequences for being suspiciously involved in the death of the ex-members who have gone looking for her. yes i know this is shameless plot armor, but she essentially has a small degree of legal immunity bc she has a friend that knows a portion of what happened to her and feels sorry for her. i hope that’s not too much. and i really hope i will keep these conveniences very brief. that's all ty for reading i'm going insane!
#now i gotta think of a name for this guy#he's not going to appear more times or have a lore of his own or anything but i don't want to call him just “the friend”#also yes Charles and Enif got history !!! yippee#mtl oc#enif cordero#long text sorry#clade oc#metalocalypse oc
