getting introduced to a ship through the fandom first and then engaging in the source material and going "ahh theyre nothing like this at all. i guess man" feels kind of strange because now i have my own specific view of the ship and not jiving with any of the really popular content just leads to me getting bored or not enjoying it at all
#calling it yaoi slop doesnt feel entirely fair it's just... not my tastes#it feels like it pushes/ignores aspects of their character that you simply “have” to throw away to make certain things and dynamics work#like their original portrayal WAS entertaining it WAS fun but then when you break them down into flats and faces it just feels .. off#also yeah this is about shadowpeaches 🙏 dog bless#i should look into what “yaoi slop” really qualifies for actually#tooth thoughts
