state country: Spain. I'm half English on my mum's side but I've never actually lived in the UK. I was born in Málaga, lived in Dublin for a bit and now I live in Barcelona.

pets: none right now, although I call my work bestie my Tamagotchi and she says she's my pet human, I keep snacks in my drawer cos she gets hungry often <3 Back when I was a kid we had a belgian shepherd and later on a samoyed, both the sweetest things ever. I miss them, dogs should live as long as humans :(

hobbies: reading (mostly I'm into fantasy and good omens fanfics right now but it changes every now and then), lyrical dance, aerial silks, pole dance and recently I'm getting into writing (inspired by GO)

Personality: I'm an extroverted introvert, I love spending time with people I like and I love getting to know new people I vibe with, but I need a lot of alone time, my social battery is limited and social interaction can feel very draining if I don't get alone time to recharge. I can be quite socially awkward and shy if I don't know people too well but once I'm comfortable around someone I get very giggly and silly. I'm an INFJ according to a test thingy someone sent me to fill in.

Favourite holiday: Hallowe'en. Big spooky fan, me. Mostly because it means autumn has arrived, it's my favourite season. Also love costume parties and roasted chestnuts (in the Catalunya region of Spain, where I live, it's tradition to have roasted chestnuts on the 31st).

Favourite food: hmm hard to choose. (Vegan) lasagna, mushroom risotto, curries, avocado toast, regular toast with margarine or olive oil, bread in general, i love bread!

What ages are we talking about for high school? Here in the UK we have primary school and secondary school, with secondary school starting at age 11 (up to 17/18 if you stay on for 6th form). What I listened to at 11 was vastly different to what I listened to by the time I was 15, and that changed further the closer I got to 17 (I didn't turn 18 until after I left school).

At 11 I was still recovering from Spice Girls. Still liked Take That even though they had split up & then Robbie Williams' solo stuff. Other than that I hated the vast majority of pop music being released.

I spent a year just not really listening to anything much other than one album due to just hating everything else. But still absolutely convinced that I hated "loud shouty raaaaaahhhhh" kind of music.

Year 9 I discovered Sum41 & a friend gave me a CD with System of a Down's Steal This Album plus some other tracks from other albums burned on it until it ran out of space. Also the year that in English class another friend was supposed to recite a poem they liked and so they read out the lyrics of Her Ghost In The Fog by Cradle of Filth. They got me to listen to the song whilst reading the lyrics when we were on the train to school to help decide if they should cut out the bit where the woman gets raped by the clergy given we went to a church school. I think I encouraged them to leave it in. Lol Anyway I thought I didn't like it but got the tune stuck in my head & so said friend ended up recording me a copy of that album (Midian) and later another couple of Cradle of Filth's albums/EPs onto cassette tape because I still used my walkman & they didn't have a PC at home to burn a CD for me.

So it was mostly Cradle of Filth for a few years.

In 6th form (so age 16-17) my taste were widened thanks to the mix-minidisc another friend made me featuring a variety of metal/heavy rock bands from Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper & Iron Maiden to Nightwish, Children of Bodom & PowerQuest (and many more!). She also made me copies of some Sonata Arctica albums and so those years I mostly listened to Nightwish & Sonata Arctica.

On my own I added HIM and bit of a Guilty Pleasure was The Rasmus. And mustn't forget LORDI (this was before their Eurovision win) I also found the website metalstorm.ee (now metalstorm.net) which has metal bands sorted in so many different ways. My fave thing was you could look at a band & it would, based on user votes, list other bands which were similar which you might also like. You coukd search by genre & country and all sorts. Fantastic place to discover new music. Its where I learned that I am particularly fond of Finnish metal bands. Even today I will randomly check the list of Finnish metal bands and find that one of my latest faves that Spotify has recommended to me is actually a Finnish band & I'm like "oh of course they are".

So by final year I think the top 5 most listened would have to be Sonata Arctica, Children of Bodom (particularly good for walking fast to avoid missing the train, it would take me the first 3 songs of Hatebreeder to walk from home to the train station, the 4th would be starting as I got there), Nightwish, Cradle of Filth, and HIM. My method of listening was primarily to listen to one album on repeat for weeks/months for maximum dopamine extraction. Then it became time of day dependent.

Super not sorry that they aren't popular mainstream bands, but popular mainstream bands started sucking majorly in the late 90s and never recovered. From what little I've ended up hearing when someone else has mainstream radio on. I grew up as a young child on stuff from 60s, 70s & 80s, my Mum particularly loved Northern Soul & Motown so that to me was good music, we lost a lot of that in the 90s. Most modern mainstream music is so lacking in instrumentation and soul behind the music. It feels cookie cutter & meant to appeal to the kind of people who think a blank white rectangle with a logo is a fashion statement instead of soul sucking capitalist greed. But I digress...

what are your favorite score/musical moments of s1?

omg a fabulous question. i listen to the gg soundtrack all the time, and have a whole long playlist dedicated to my faves from the soundtrack and other songs that i think would be on gg if it were still on lol.

the best one has to be with me by sum41 in 1x07 during chair’s iconic limo scene. an epic song for an epic moment. it complements that moment so perfectly. it’s such a standout song in the s1 soundtrack, blaring and surprising just like s1 chair. the way it builds up to the loud chorus just as that big kiss hits is beautiful, it feels like watching freedom be found and walls breaking down and glass shattering. the kiss is meant to be A Big Moment and this song accentuates that. bonus points for having lyrics that foreshadow chair’s whole journey.

close second is the very beginning with young folks by peter bjorn and john. anyone who has seen gossip girl knows that this is THE gossip girl song. forever seared into my memory, i’ll never be able to disassociate this song from the show. it’s so iconic and if i had to pick only one song that summed up the show or reminded me of the show, it’d be this one. those first 20 seconds always make my heart ache with gg love.

the ice is getting thinner by death cab for cutie during lily and bart’s wedding reception in 1x18 is a good one. it’s soft and subtle, mellow and dark, and a nice choice for the scene, especially considering the content of dan and serena’s scene.

secret by the pierces in 1x10 because i also love pretty little liars and stan this little crossover. 

believe by the bravery in 1x02 is so dramatic, so quintessentially gossip girl.

stripper by sohodolls in 1x07 - self-explanatory, just a really cool, appropriate pick for the scene.

that everytime you walk away song by lincoln hawk. i love the rufus x lily feels (everybody’s true otp, lbr). 

campus by vampire weekend in 1x15 - a super inconsequential scene for me, i just love gg using vampire weekend songs.

2. Have you been to any festivals?Yes I have! I went to Bamboozle a few times back in college and something a few summers ago in London. Wireless, I wanna say? There are so many festivals in Hyde Park, I can’t remember which one I actually attended.

4. First concert you went to?I think it was the Monkees back when I was three years old. Either the Monkees or Ronnie Milsap (an old country singer who gets a shoutout in the Deadpool movie). I saw them both the same year but can’t remember which was first (for obvious reasons!). My first concert without my parents, however, was *NSYNC. It was a sign of things to come for sure.

7. Which artists/bands would you love to see live?ONE DIRECTION AGAIN OBVI!!! But besides them, there are other obvious answers like Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, Adele, a reunited *NSYNC, etc. and less obvious answers of Everclear and Stormzy. 

9. Best opening act?I have a lot of respect for opening acts because they give their all every time even though almost no one listens to them. The best I ever saw was a guy called Butch Walker. He wasn’t technically an opening act (it was one of those tours that has like a dozen artists that each play for 20 minutes), but he wasn’t the headliner so I think it counts. Butch should teach a class in performance and every single frontman should have to attend. He is the single most charismatic performer I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, and a darn lovely gent as well.Honorable mention goes to OK Go, Charlotte Martin and Boys Like Girls. I fell in love with all of them after they played.

15. Worst concert you’ve been to?Daughters. Without question. I only went because a guy I liked mentioned he was going. Not only did he not show up, but he turned out to be gay, so I sat through that horrible nightmare for less than nothing.

23. Favorite concert venue?Ooooo tough one! I have to say, I kind of weirdly love the basement at Webster Hall. It’s kind of shitty and terrible but also amazing. Bowery Ballroom is always a winner as well. I used to practically live at Irving Plaza, so that’s a fave, too. Also the Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, because it’s right down the street from my house- very beautiful and very convenient. And Warsaw, because the only thing better than seeing a concert is seeing a concert with a pierogi in your hand.

 52. Favorite song you’ve heard live?Thank you so much for asking this one!! I have had two truly beautiful music moments, and this was one of them- “Modern Nature” by Sondre Lerche. He split the crowd into sections and had us sing the chorus in a round. I wasn’t familiar with the song, so I just stood, surrounded by all of these voices, creating something incredible. It was transcendent and a perfect example of how music can take you somewhere else.

65. Have you seen any artists in concerts that you don’t like anymore?Ooooo, you know, I don’t think so. There are certainly some I’m not as big of a fan of anymore, but not any that I straight up don’t like. The closest you could come is maybe Sum41, as I have no interest in anything new they put out, but, like, Fat Lip is still a jam.
