i was absolutely appalled by how boring the robots where. they where LION ROBOTS they should have been cool but they were so freaking forgettable and useless(maybe Red and Green had somewhat of a distinct personality but maybe it's just and illusion created by the fact that i liked their pilots). At the end they could have sacrificed themselves instead of Allura, it would have symbolized the fact that they are sentient and have gained some sort of attachment to their pilots and that even machines can become empathic enough to give up their ''lives'' to save human beings and their universe. After Allura died, they left either way, it was the most boring shit ever. It should have been some really sad moment but I couldn't care less.

The person who i'm rebloging this from mentioned srmthfg and i can't stress enough how this silly show that had an almost non-existing buget managed to make me care more about a mech that looks as plain as this:

than freaking voltron, robot made out of robotic animals that was an instant eye-catch design-wise for me. Nieli managed to show this robot being sentient in so many different and eerie ways that just...made it absolutely obvious to me that he was really passionate about the subject and theme, while voltron directors where ex-lok ones just trying to regurgitate avatar the last airbender/legend of korra but in space.
