#kgprambling#anyways i rewatched the scene of seto n kano in ep 11 bc i was curious what japanese term they used in seto's sentence#where he says [we're brothers] <- english translation#bc most siblings terms in japanese comes with a connotation of whether the person youre referring to is older or younger than u#like 姉/ane is older sister and 妹/imouto is younger sister#and i didnt know what the more neutral term the mekatrio would use between each other was#but now that ive watched it the term seto used towards kano was 兄弟/kyoudai#which according to the internet can be used as a plural form (brothers) or just to mean 'siblings' without any age indicator#but it still indicates gender; 兄弟/kyoudai is masculine#while the female equivalent is 姉妹/shimai#and i believe that 姉妹/shimai would be the term that kano uses in manga chapter 40 when asked what kido is to kano#the sentence he says is translated to in english as 'shes my sister'#yeah 👍 unless theres some other term i dont know abt which is also possible#bc trying to find the manga pages in japanese online is a pain#also theres seto characterization things i can say abt that ep11 scene as well but like.....#im way too depressed to comment on it lol. way too depressed to do much of anything really
