Inktober 07/2024 “Unliving”
You can create your own interpretation of what is happening but I’ll put my au details as well
I’m sure this looks like dark shadow deciding to possess Tokoyami’s corpse but I can’t imagine they would choose to continue living without him. Instead the true story is much worse.
Introducing the “Came Back Wrong” AU. Tokoyami and dark shadow were always in mutual agreement that dying wasn’t that bad because they would get to be together still and go to Valhalla or whatever. But when dark shadow is watching tokoyami actively bleed out in front of them, they suddenly change their mind. They make an impulsive decision and decide to sacrifice themself by infuse all of their dark energy with Tokoyami’s cells (this is a form of quirk evolution). It’s bad enough that dark shadow didnt survive, but unfortunately, tokoyami doesn’t seem to make it through the process entirely either.
This new creature inhabiting their body has both of their memories and a mixture of their personalities, but it’s also something entirely new. They don’t breathe and their heart doesn’t beat, they are only sustained by dark energy now. Their body can shift between a shadow and human form. They end up going by Tsukuyomi because that is familiar to both of their halves. They often come off as creepy with their unusual and shifting mannerisms.
Tsuku is probably the most perturbed by their new existence. They are grieving themself, and constantly lonely. But also happy to be so close to their other half; it’s confusing especially when their memories and feelings differ on certain subjects.
Worst of all is their friends having to mourn them too while watching this person ferrying around the living corpse of their friends. I think they would get along well with kurogiri.

Meta about healing!
@thrspidcr // send me a topic to write a meta about my muse on
Tumblr media
OBVIOUSLY, Peter has accelerated healing as one of his abilities. It’s something that really helps him out most of the time, as it allows him to heal from injuries MUCH quicker than a normal human, which is how he can take a lot of damage during fights, and be completely fine at least the next morning and at most a few days later ( in most cases ). However, there are some IMPORTANT things to note about his healing.
The first, and probably the most significant one is that different injuries take different amounts of time to heal. It isn’t INSTANT healing or regeneration-- it’s essentially how humans naturally heal, just sped up. Small cuts and bruises, little injuries like that, are what takes the least amount of time to heal. It can take from a few hours up to a night, but they’re always gone by the next morning, this goes for things like black eyes as well. BROKEN BONES, however, take a little longer-- it really depends on the bone/severity of the break as well, but it’s usually a few days, and wouldn’t ever go longer than a week ( a part of me thought this seemed a bit too long, but honestly nothing’s confirmed so i do what i want, and considering humans take like 2 months, i feel like ranging over a few days is fine? besides, even if it’s not completely healed peter will still be able to go about his day, just with some extra pain ). With injuries WORSE than that, such as deep cuts ( stab wounds, gashes, etc ), bad internal damage, gunshot wounds, or anything that’s just Really Not Good, it’ll again take longer to heal. It really depends, but the point is for bigger wounds, the healing is NOT immediate.
Another important factor about it is because Peter HAS accelerated healing, he tends not to worry about some injuries because he figures his healing will take care of it. He’s fixed himself up plenty of times before, but he also tends to brush off a lot of wounds and believe he’ll be fine, which can lead to those wounds healing WRONG. They could possibly get infected, or most notably, if he doesn’t try and fix broken bones. They’ll HEAL fast without Peter setting the bone, which means if this does happen, he has to re-break it ( which isn’t fun, he tries to learn his lesson there ).
Sometimes, he can feel it happening as well. He can literally feel it as his cells practically stitch themselves back together. It isn’t usually much of an issue, but sometimes it’ll ache, and of course, for the bad injuries the healing process is way more annoying to him-- he’s restless and wants to do things again, but it hurts. During infinity war, you can almost SEE a bit of this at work. You can visibly see the pieces of his body hold themselves together as Peter starts to fall apart, his hand is breaking apart for a long amount of time, or at least much longer compared to the others who faded away in a few seconds each. The accelerated healing fighting against the inevitable death is visible.
Finally, healing brings up a pretty big PROBLEM when it comes to hospitals. Peter can’t go to them at all due to his odd healing and his strange dna from the bite, he either needs to fix his injuries up himself or find a doctor that understands. This only existed when the AVENGERS COMPOUND was still intact. He sometimes had to go there for medical emergencies during the time between homecoming and infinity war, where they also had medication that worked on superheroes like Peter. After endgame, Peter has to handle mostly every injury himself, still unable to go to hospitals.
