my suncat and guard fan OCs based on @jumalanpelko's world! info about them under the cut; CW for animal death/death due to childbirth!

(both use she/they) Guard in her younger moons was a bright and determined cat, with only her duties and older sister in her mind. Influenced by her parents and those around her, she quickly took to her purpose like a fish does to water. Her older sister, who had a bright orange coat (though didn't turn out to be the next suncat), was heavily pushed to have kittens due to this. While nervous, she felt as if she could do it and bring a Suncat. After all, she knew that her sister could potentially be the one to serve and protect Her, and that soothed her. Both of the sisters enthusiasm drew attention to them quickly, and soon enough the sisters were quite popular! Guard couldn't have asked for anything more, really. With her sister alongside her and her colony, she was thrilled as the suneve drew near. However, once the Suneve hit, disaster struck. The labor had been too much for her sister, and she had died during childbirth, leaving behind one small orange kitten, who would become the next suncat. In a horrible twist of fate, Guard had gotten what she wanted- but at the cost of her sisters life. It didn't seem like anybody else felt the grief that she did- instead praising her sister for her sacrifice. What once was the colony that she had loved so much felt almost suffocating and lifeless without her sister- but she had to take care of Suncat. However, even worse, Suncat nearly looked identical to her beloved sister. Her grief from having to take care of Suncat turned her bitter, and her bitterness made her quite unpleasant to be around. Because of this, her popularity dwindled quite fast, leaving her isolated- aside from the senior guards and Suncat. Guard tends to be overprotective of Suncat, due to her looking like her sister. Though, she passes it off as being protective of Her. She had complicated feelings with her god- after all, she was prepared to serve Her for the rest of her life- until she ripped her sister away from her. And, now, she's going to take away her sisters only kitten, too. Suncat, on the other hand, is oblivious to Guards turmoil brought on by her birth and fate. While she knows that once Suneve hits she will pass, she doesn't seem to grasp that she will be gone forever. It feels like a hundred years away for Suncat, and she wants to spend her life having fun and helping Her instead of moping. Instead of seeing God as a god she feels more like a friend to Suncat. Sometimes, she can be caught talking to Her quietly as one would talk to their best friend. Other unrelated notes: -Guard's lineage, before joining the cult, could be traced back to purebred housecats! Though, they had joined the cult a very long time ago, so Guard wouldn't know this. -The sister would've had Suncat around 20-22 years old in human years! Guard would be around 16 once Suncat arrived. They are from different litters! -There was a very large chance that the sisters plan wouldn't have worked in the first place; but it did! Though, Guard wouldn't call it a miracle anymore. -The Guards fur tends to be unkept, while Suncats is kept a little more scruffy than the average cat due to playing alot. -Suncat talks with a bit of a lisp due to her teeth!

-if this were to be a comic or form of media, it would be exploring Guards personal feelings about her sisters passing and nephew- with her coming to realize the bad aspects of the cult. There would most likely be a bittersweet ending!

-Extending off of this, I would explore or unravel the unhealthy aspects of the colony/clan within the comic. Her sisters dream to only have kittens at the end would not be viewed as a positive thing in the end, due to how it wasn’t truly *her* dream to begin with, but rather the colonies.
