Some studies I did of the British at Monmouth this past June, featuring soldiers and musicians from the 22nd, 33rd, and 71st regiments of foot, inspired by William Barns Wollen’s 1911 sketchbook. Fantastic event and I can’t wait to do it again.

Zutara Week 2020 - Day 2 “Counterpart”
Thought I would take this a different route (and barely made it to post before the day is over in my time! pls forgive any errors lol). My first modern/college AU for Zutara.
You can also read this on AO3 :)
Rating: G
Zuko shifted his stool forward, and adjusted the easel his canvas was on. Blank white stared back at him. Today, they would be having new live models coming in to start their final project for the quarter - and the best ones would be displayed at the university student art show. They were working on portraits, different styles of painting one, and would have to submit a piece in their own style. Whatever Zuko lacked in expressing emotion verbally, he always did his best to show it in his art.
One of the things that did challenge him about portraits specifically was working with other people and being responsible to get their feeling across. Not one to back down from a challenge, Zuko had definitely worked hard and took extra practice to get a bit more comfortable.
He was feeling pretty confident to start this painting. And then the new models walked in.
One lanky young man with wild hair strolled languidly to the side of the classroom as the curious whispers of the class continued on. Zuko noted his eyebrows were in a shape he had never seen before, and it would probably be interesting to get them just right. Next, a girl with chin-length brown hair and a pretty smile walked in talking to the last model.
If that first girl was pretty to Zuko, this last girl was stunning. She had beautiful chestnut hair in gentle waves, golden skin, and surprisingly blue eyes to die for. Zuko cleared his throat and scooted again to hide his face, an unexpected shyness hitting him.
Katara noticed him with the cough and shuffle behind the canvas. She caught a golden eye surrounded by light pink peering at her before ducking back to start prep on what materials to use. Gold? She had never seen such a hue before. Curiosity flit through her mind as she slipped her bag off and prepped to sit for this session.
Suki had told her about a way to get some extra credit for their shared class, and she had sat for a few photographers in the past so she didn’t mind helping out. She hardly knew the guy with them, Jet, but he was nice enough. He was definitely a smooth talker and had tried to kiss her once when they went out with Suki and other mutual friends, but he was only a fun distraction.
Bad boys were definitely a type she’s had, but Katara couldn’t help but wonder about the shy guy shielding himself from her.
Some time had passed and the professor went up to Zuko, regarding his art with an amused expression Katara could see. “Zuko, you realize there are three people modeling, correct?”
Zuko’s face heated up and he took a moment to still himself and make his voice as steady as possible. “Yeah, I’m just starting off with her since she’s closest to me.” Zuko wanted the ground to swallow him whole, as quickly and inconspicuously as possible. He looked up to the models once more and found the blue-eyed girl watching him, a small smile on her lips.
Zuko. Katara had never heard that name before and despite that, she thought it would feel nice on her tongue. She felt a bit self-conscious for a moment after realizing he was focused on her, and so she straightened up and shifted her shawl down a touch to show a little more bare shoulder. She was flattered at his attention and Katara had always been a kind person. She figured she could do a small kindness to be an interesting model, and help Zuko get a good grade. The skill was all up to him but in a way, she felt like his partner in this project.
The class was coming to and end and she replaced the tank top strap back where it should be, and skirt over the workout shorts she had on for the class. Zuko was completely hidden while gathering his own things and Katara was going to say hi to him until Suki grabbed her by the elbow.
“Sokka, Aang, and Toph are at White Lotus for happy hour! They have shots waiting for us.”
“I think I-.”
“Uh-uh, I don’t wanna hear it, Katara. We deserve it!” Suki shot her a toothy grin which Katara always had a hard time being stern with. She shot one last glance at Zuko who had his back to them, before letting herself get dragged out with a laugh.
Behind her retreating form, Zuko was packing his things when he heard her name. A secret smile formed on his lips and he chuckled. “Katara, huh?” Beautiful.
The project continued on, as each class was only an hour long. Zuko wasn’t so taken aback anymore and was able to keep his wits about him each time he saw Katara. She always sat closest to him and it got to the point where she would give a smile to greet him, and he would return a small nod in return. Katara was appreciative of the fact Zuko finally let himself show his whole face from behind the canvas. It would have been a shame if she never had a chance to really see it — a light pink scar running on one side of his face and despite that he was still one of the most beautiful men she had ever seen.
On this day Katara’s ears piqued as the professor neared Zuko’s form. Zuko had taken to standing up, and was close to the canvas, brush moving slowly. The professor hummed and Zuko only turned to acknowledge him for a moment. “Zuko this piece…there’s more feeling behind it than I’ve seen so far this quarter.”
Blue met gold for a split second and Zuko straightened up. “Well, I guess you could say I was inspired.”
Ever the curious girl, those words triggered an even bigger desire to see this Zuko’s work. That’s it, I’m talking to him today. No matter what Suki has planned!
And so Katara didn’t even wait to be fully dressed in her street clothes before going up to Zuko, zipping up her light jacket. He startled when she greeted him. “Hey! Uh, how’s it going?”
How’s it going? Really, Katara? You have more game than that. She resisted the urge to roll her eyes. But then again, I really don’t even know him as much as I know the back of his easel.
“Oh uh, hey,” Zuko scooted the easel to face the wall and neared her one a few short movements. He shot her a lopsided smile. Katara noted the brightness of his eyes. “It’s going pretty good. What about you?” His movements didn’t go unnoticed and she aimed a pointed look at his easel before returning her eyes to him.
“Good,” she replied with a smile, tucking her hair behind her ears before offering her hand in a handshake. “I’m Katara, the girl - or I guess - one of the girls you’ve been painting.”
Zuko took her hand and Katara noticed how warm his was. It was also much more smooth than she thought it would be. A little calloused and dry paint to the touch, but smooth. “Hah yeah, nice to meet you. I’m Zuko.” He ran his other hand through his hair absentmindedly and got a spot of blue in his locks. Katara giggled and pointed it out.
“You got a little…” His eyes widened, then he looked down at his hand and rolled his eyes.
“Thanks,” he mumbled, grabbing a cloth to wipe himself, small blush on his face. “You would think I would be used to it by now after painting for so long.”
“Well don’t worry, I think blue actually kinda suits you,” Katara quipped. The ghost of another smile passed over his lips before she continued on. “From what your professor said it sounds like your painting’s going well! I’ve been so curious to see it…”
Katara took a step towards the easel, and Zuko stepped in front of her with his hands up, sheepish grin on his face. “Sorry, it’s practically done but I kinda have this thing about my subjects seeing a work in progress…”
“Oh, like bad luck or something?” she asked, lifting an eyebrow and crossing her arms, smirking up at him. Boy, he was definitely taller than her. And she couldn’t place the scent, but he smelled good even with a paint apron on. Zuko thought a moment and shook his head, deliberately picking each word to answer.
“I want to keep my subject’s emotions as genuine and authentic as possible. I’m still learning all this too, but in the past when I’ve had to practice, sometimes a person starts to think they should sit a certain way or have their face be a certain way. But the thing I’m really starting to like about portraits is capturing who they really are in those moments, the small moments they let their guard down and let me into their world. It’s my job to interpret that onto canvas.” Zuko paused as Katara remained silent and laughed. “That’s the first time I’ve said that out loud before. Seems a little more weird than it sounded it my head.”
Katara shook her head. “No, I don’t think it’s weird at all. When you put it like that, it does make sense. Every artist has their way of doing things, right? So this is your thing. I can respect that.” She gave him a smile, softer this time, before turning away. “I guess I just wish I could see it somehow when it’s done.”
Zuko hesitated as she began to talk to Suki, who had been talking to his classmate Ty Lee. He just finally spoken to Katara and is that how he was going to leave it? She was almost out of the classroom when he called out to her.
“Katara!”
The sound of a new voice calling her name made her turn quicker, to see Zuko making his way over to her and Suki. Her friend shot her a look and actually took the cue to give her a little bit of space — though still listening intently.
“Thursday is the last day we’ll be doing this project, and after that we’ll be submitting to a panel. If my work does get picked, how about we go to the art show together so I can tell you all about it.” Katara noted it was as if Zuko had decided on something in the few moments between their conversation and now. Even the last words he said weren’t really a question, more so a request. She felt a flutter in her chest as she nodded.
“Yeah, that sounds like a plan.” And Zuko’s smile widened.
A little over a week later, she arrived at the show to meet Zuko, who had been there early to set up. Suki had bombarded her with questions about that black haired hottie after she made sure they exchanged numbers. During the last session, Katara did her best to keep in mind what Zuko had said. She just let herself be and stopped worrying. She even exchanged a few smiles with the boy behind the canvas, a few jokes after class.
Not long after she sent the “I’m here” text, she heard him call her name. I could get really get used to that. “Hey, I’m glad you made it!”
“Of course, I wasn’t going to miss this!” She really meant it and he gave her a lopsided grin, guiding her along with a hand barely brushing her back. “I’ve been way too curious.”
“I’m sure you have been,” he replied, nervous once more. He had never revealed his art to someone like this before and he wasn’t sure how it was going to go. He brought her to a wall set up with the light focusing on the singular canvas displayed in this section. “Here it is.”
Katara’s lips parted as her mouth dropped. Suki and Jet were painted on the right and left sides of the canvas, respectively, and there she was in the middle and larger than the other two. They were all full body in the frame but her’s was definitely the center. Brilliant blues of all different shades surrounded all of them and it was almost as if they were windswept, or perhaps underwater would be the best way to describe it with how her hair floated around her. She looked ethereal, she was glowing, she was happy, she was…Katara didn’t even know she could look like this.
Zuko stood next to her, waiting with bated breath. Katara looked up at him almost speechless. “How did you…get all of that from me just sitting there?”
Zuko shrugged and looked up at his painting. “I guess…that’s just how I saw you. That’s how you looked in my eyes.”
“Zuko, it’s…it’s beautiful. It’s really lovely, and I don’t know much about art but everyone is so well done,” she managed to get out, finally coming down from her surprise. Zuko looked down at her at his side and smirked.
“I couldn’t have done it without you to inspire me.” Katara and blushed and mumbled something of gratitude and Zuko couldn’t help but think about how adorable she looked. “So, what questions do you have?”
Thank you for reading!

Survey #307
“you lie so much, you believe yourself”
How long has it been since you kissed someone? Like, two years or so. What level are you on Farmville? Never played it. What are you looking forward to in the next year? I hope Covid just withers away, dammit. I truly, truly hope this vaccine is effective. And that people start wearing their GODDAMN masks. Do you use a lot of emoticons? Not really nowadays. Would you ever climb a mountain? No. Even if my legs were capable of handling that, I'd be too afraid of an avalanche. Colons or equal signs for your smiley face’s eyes? Colons. When was the last time you swam in a lake? A looooong time ago. If you could have anything right now, what would you want? It'd be great to chill at Sara's house honestly, I miss that. What’s your relationship status? Single and I think finally starting to truly accept I need to be right now. I wouldn't want to date myself in my current position, so I shouldn't expect anyone else to. When was the last time someone asked you your age? On my birthday when I mentioned in group therapy that I was trying to make it an especially good day about myself. When was the last time you danced? Very, very poorly with Sara years ago lmao. Has anyone ever tried to physically fight you? Someone snatched my arm and yanked me down to look her in the eyes in HS because she was a jealous bitch back then telling lies, but idk if her intention was to actually try to start a physical fight. Are you avoiding someone? No. What’s your favorite primary color? Red. What do you have pierced? Just my ears and bottom lip now. :/ I want morrrreeee. I'm forever tilted that so many of my piercings closed when I was hospitalized. What is your favorite dog breed? I find pugs to be very cute, but I do not support their breeding whatsoever so would never buy one. Besides them, I have a definite bias towards beagles. In your honest opinion, what is the scariest sea creature you know? Fucking Christ, giant squids. Terrifying. Do you believe there is just one love for everyone, or…? No. There are way, way, WAY too many people on this planet for that. What natural disaster scares you the most? Tornados. What outrageous career could you see yourself wanting to do? Define an "outrageous" career... but I can't visualize myself doing anything very unordinary. In what way would you want to help change the world? I truly hope I can make some considerable amount of contributions to natural conservation and animal education. When driving down the road looking for an address do you turn the radio low? I don't drive, but I know I would, considering I can't concentrate on driving if the radio is on anyway. What do you think of when you look at the stars? How little I and my problems really are. It gives me perspective. If you could say ONE THING to the president, what would it be? Well, Biden just got into office, so I can't really say yet. We'll see what he does. What Disney princess are you most like? Personality wise, I mean. Uh. I'unno. Maybe Snow White because animals? haha Do you believe in astrology? Not in the slightest. Do you look into people’s eyes when you talk to them? I try to, anyway, but I tend to find it very uncomfortable, and I never know if I'm offering too little or too much. So I have trouble maintaining it, especially with people I don't know. You can have one of the following two things: trust or love. Pick one. Trust. What do you think is the most important thing in this life is? Hm, that's a deep one. Perhaps the understanding that you are just as important as the next person and that we should work as one to make this one life that we know of worthwhile. Make the world better than when you entered it. What is your favorite shade of blue? Pastel blue. I just like pastels in general. When's the last time you bought something just because? I don't buy things "just because." If I actually have money to spend, I use it with motivation behind it. What Ozzy lyric describes you best? WHOA NOW HUNNY you are asking the WRONG person because I can just about name his entire discography so there are waaaay too many song lyrics to dig through and pick one for myself. Probably something from "Dreamer," after a short moment's consideration. When was the last time you went for a walk without a specific destination in mind? Not since Sara and I walked down the path near her house. We didn't plan on when we would turn around to go back. Do you daydream? Only all the time. What was your last daydream about? Ha, thanks to that other question, visiting Sara again. It'd be nice, but yeah, financial limitations and corona. Ever won the lottery? Bitch I wish. What was the most important decision you made that screwed up your life the most? Ugh... I'd say putting all my self-worth, happiness, and source of peace into one person was pretty big but also fucking stupid. What is love really about? Don't ask a romantic this and expect a non-essay, haha. But to keep it as short as possible, it's about mutual care, the desire to grow together, trust, openness, the peace to be vulnerable with the other... It's about a lot. It's such a deep, beautiful feeling. What's the most you ever made in a year? lol Do you have an online diary? Only through surveys, really. What's the biggest pot you've won in poker? I haven't played poker since I was a kiddo, so idr. What Metallica lyric most describes your life? Who wrote this and knows my favorite bands????? Like damn. There's a good handful of the sadder songs I relate to; I did some brief digging through ones I know I relate to, and perhaps the one I feel closest is within "The Unforgiven II": "The door is locked now, but it's open if you're true. If you can understand the me, then I can understand the you." Aaaand now I'm gonna go binge Metallica 'cuz it's been too long, thanks. How many concerts have you been to? Just one. :/ Which one was your favorite? I've only seen Alice Cooper, and it was great. What's the most illegal thing you've done? Pirated stuff, oops. Ever get busted by the cops? What for? No. How many pairs of rollerblades do/did you own? I doubt I have any anymore. Ever wear out a CD? What was it? Ahaha... There is some scratching on my mom's copy of Ozzmosis thanks to me playing it so much on my old CD player. Ever have a tornado in your town? Well my city is pretty damn big, so yes, in some spots. I don't think my immediate proximity has ever seen one, though. If you HAD to pick ONE song to listen to for the rest of your life, and that would be the only song you ever heard, what would it be? I would absolutely need something motivating if that was the case, so most likely "Life Won't Wait" by Ozzy Osbourne. That song touches me so deeply and gives me the courage to do what I can to tackle life and try not to waste it. I know, I'm doing a great job at that. Ever heard of Shinedown? Hell yeah; I was actually listening to them in the car earlier. What does your lawn furniture consist of? We have nothing out there. Ever live off of canned soup and ramen noodles for weeks at a time? Er, no. But when I got my tongue pierced, I had to survive off of popsicles and... I somehow forgot the main thing I ate???? How?????? But anyway it was something that didn't involve much or any chewing, either. I actually lost a little bit of weight in that week or so because eating solids was impossible, and I didn't enjoy "eating" liquids either. That piercing (snake eyes, btw) was soooo so cute tho. I really wish it hadn't started to damage my teeth, or else I'd still have it. What musical group/artist do you love, but hide from other people? I used to be kinda embarrassed by artists like Melanie Martinez when you compare her music to my adoration of metal, but at my age now, I don't give a damn. I like what I like and won't hide it. What is the first meal you remember eating? ... Does anyone actually remember this??? What's in your keepsake box/scrapbook? Good God, a lot. I haven't looked in it in a very, very long time though. It brings a usually painful nostalgia. What did you score on your SATs? I don't even remember if I took them. I THINK I took the ACT instead? I don't even know the difference. When was the last time you saw a rainbow? Hm. Been a while. It's not like I'm out of the house a lot, especially nowadays with quarantine. What colors is your lava lamp? I wish I had a lava lamp, they're rad and really relaxing. What's the strangest thing you've ever hung on the wall? Nothing, really. Can you name every place you've ever had sex? I mean I can but I'm not going to. What's the most important thing you ever lost and never found again? My favorite childhood cat Charcoal. He was an outdoor and intact male, so it was very normal for him to eventually vanish to rove. Please keep your cats indoors. What forms of birth control have you used? The pill and, uh, having "barriers." How many webpages have you created, and can you still find them all? I made Wetpaint sites for my two RP mobs back in the day, but the site has since been completely revised, so no, they don't exist anymore. I checked outta curiosity I think last year. How many people are in your family portrait? We don't even have a proper family portrait. Ever punched a wall? No. When's the last time you really lost your temper? In some argument with Mom I don't remember. Ever thought you (or a girlfriend) were pregnant, but it was a false alarm? I had massive anxiety over it once, but it was irrational and even I knew that. Not that anxiety cares. If 97 is yes, were you glad or sad? I was very glad when my period came lmao. What was the last conversation you had with someone before they died? When I saw my grandma for the last time, I just let her know that I loved her and that she was so, so strong, and she was. No one could believe how long she warded death off when she finally stopped chemo. What do your drinking glasses look like? We have some more unique cups and mugs, but the majority of them are just plain, slightly angular glasses, some short, some tall. How many bottles/containers are in your medicine cabinet? Oh wow, a lot. We're covered for most potential problems. How many funerals have you been to? Uhhh I think one. Maybe even none, just wakes. What was the last bug you killed and what did you use? An ant, I think? I just used my fingers. How many computers in your household? There are three laptops, but no desktop computers. Ever help to solve a crime? There was one occasion years ago when our neighbor's window was busted overnight and cops came to us to ask for any evidence we might have had, but we didn't have any. Idk what came of it. Ever get pulled over by the cops and get away without a ticket? I've never been pulled over. What was your first legal alcoholic drink? I think it was a margarita, but possibly a daquiri. Ever get published by one of those poetry groups? I fucking wish. I've tried, but to no avail. What's the furthest distance you've moved? Not very far at all. Just to the neighboring town. How many friends from high school/college do you still talk to? Only a few now and then. Girt is the only one I have real conversations with, though. What's the most expensive things your parents ever bought you? Probably the laptop I have right now, but idk. I've never asked how much things they've bought me cost, it seems rude somehow. What's the most expensive thing you've bought? The upcoming revamp of my tattoo. Deposit was $100, and then it's probably going to be another $300-400. I can't afford it all myself; as my birthday gift, Mom is helping me pay for it, but I've got most of it covered thanks to Christmas and birthday money. How many times did you intentionally start to commit suicide? Start to do it? Well, I was trying to run for sharp objects to do it twice, but on each occasion, someone held me back 'cuz they knew I was about to do something rash, so I didn't get very far, thankfully. The only time I fully went through with an attempt was my OD. Ever spent the night in the "loony bin?" How fucking disrespectful to call it that, but whatever. If you put all the instances together, I've been in psych hospitals for around a couple months, maybe more. What is your favorite cover song? Disturbed's cover of "Sound of Silence" is absolutely unbeatable. I'd just about call it a cold hard fact. What's your inspiration? Other's success stories, music, art in general, etc. What's the longest relationship you've been in? Over 3 1/2 years. Did you ever drop out of school? I dropped out of college three times, yikes. Three times is enough; even if I think I want to, I'm never going back. That is just way too much money to keep throwing down the drain, and there's clearly a pattern. Ever raise a child that wasn't your own for more than 3 months? I've never raised a kid period. Strangest medical procedure ever performed on you? Look up what a pilonidal cyst is and know I had one surgically removed. Pretty strange and uncomf. Song that has changed your attitude recently? None, really. What's something that you say a lot to be mean? ... Why would I try to be mean??? Who told you they loved you last? Me mum. Ever had a pet frog? Not technically, no, but as kids, my sister, neighbor, and I saved hundreds, maybe thousands of tadpole eggs from a ditch that was inevitably going to dry out. We transferred them all to a kiddie pool and let them grow naturally, hopping out and into the world whenever they were ready. I wouldn't call them "pets." Your worst enemy? IT'S NO SURPRIIIISE TO MEEEE I AAAAMMM MY OWN WORST ENEMYYYYY Do you believe in karma? No, but I wish it was a thing. What was the last hurtful thing you said to someone? I'm not sure. I certainly try to avoid doing so. Do you love someone enough you'd die for them? There's multiple people. The last song you listened to? I wasn't joking when I said I was gonna go on a Metallica spree, haha. "Of Wolf and Man" is on rn. Your most favorite memory as a kid? Too many, man. If you had the choice to work or not, would you work? Yes. I need something to do that benefits others in one way or another. Ever TRULY wanted to kill someone? I can't say for sure, if I'm being totally transparent. When I found out about Jason's gf after me, I can say with certainty I wanted her dead beyond dead, but I don't know if I wanted to kill her, per se. Just to clarify, no, I don't wish any negativity upon her now. I was certifiably insane before and certainly don't think I am anymore, so... Marvel or DC? I don't care. Do you watch anime subbed or dubbed? Both. I prefer dubbed, BUT only if the voice acting isn't insufferable. I like dubbed just because for me, it's very distracting to have to keep looking down at subtitles. How often do you exercise? I don't... I'm still waiting for Mom to move into her actual room versus the living room couch so I can do WiiFit with some privacy. I'm too uncomfortable to exercise in front of anyone. What is your favorite book series? Warriors will forever have a very special place in my heart. What is your favorite OTP? I will probably ship Rhett and Link for my entire life. Their friendship is truly incredible and so so SOOOOOOO cute. Who is your favorite Harry Potter character? I've never seen the series, actually.

My Names Richie I’m a huge fan have been ever since I saw you for my first time on July 31st 2009(my 19th Birthday) in Boston MA back when you opened for Keith Urban, this August I’ll be attending the Reputation show in Atlanta Night 2 Saturday the 11th, this will be my 14th time seeing you in Concert. I wish I could attend more then one show this tour unfortunately with this tour being stadiums only the closest show to me is Atlanta which is still a 6 hour drive from where I live in Conway SC. You have know idea how excited I am to go, I’m bringing my boyfriend of 4 years with me to his first ever concert(not counting House of Blues shows) I just cant wait to see his eyes when the show starts and how amazing it is to see that many fans screaming and singing along with you. He doesn’t get my love for you but he will after I’m sure.
August 27th 2010 was the best day of my life, at the time I lived in NH only about and hour drive from where you filmed the music video for Mine, I don’t remember where I heard that you were in town doing something but I decided that day to go to Kennebunkport ME and see what was going on, when I arrived in the town I saw girls driving around blasting your songs with window paint all over there cars so I could tell I wasn’t alone, I later found out that something was going down at the church over looking the ocean after a few hours of waiting we all got invited to be apart of the release of the video on CMT, still the coolest thing ive ever been a part of. i always think and plan ahead so I had one of your albums and a Sharpie on me just incase I was to run into you, I jokingly said to my friends that if I could get you to sign my arm i’d get it tattooed over lol wouldn’t that be funny, After everything was over you being you, asked if it was okay if you brought your band out and played a few songs for us. While performing Love Story you came down off the stage and across the front row to sing and hug fans as you headed my way I got ready when you got to me I threw my arm out and asked you to sign it handing you my sharpie with the screaming/pushing I’m not sure how you heard me over the other fans, but I felt the sharpie leave my hand and then I felt a swipe across my arm, not even sure how I got the marker back but somehow I did, I pulled my arm back to see your signature on my arm, now this wasn’t a joke I was dead serious about getting this tattooed before it rubbed off in a few days. I think I only had to go a day and a half un-showered before I could get a tattoo artist to come in on his day off and get it done for me. Now to this day anytime I’m upset or my minds in a bad place I simply look down and I see it, that’s when I smile and remember the happiest day of my life. So thank you for that. i year after having it tattooed i added the lyrics from mine “you are the best thing thats ever been Mine” above it.
I’ll never forget sitting in Art class back in 2008 when the teacher told us we had to draw self portraits, after learning how to do it I went home that night and drew my first portrait of you which took 8 hours, I brought it to school the next day and the teacher was blown away she hung it in the school for a month before I finally begged for it back. That was when I really fell in love with art. Now 10 years later I’ve drawn around 20 pictures of you all different mediums teaching myself new things over the years. In 2015 Simon and Schuster the book company announced a project they had been working on a book for you from the fans. They had a contest for the book cover so of course I made one and entered, I also sent all the pictures on my art, after months of not hearing anything and forgetting about the project I got a random email from the person putting it together regarding the book, he informed me that all though I wasn’t the winner of the contest he really wanted to put a couple of my pictures in the book, I lost my mind, of course I said yes he explained what I had to do and everything, in 2016 I got a letter from them and my own copy of the book thanking me for my part, now let me tell you I’m a strong person and it takes a lot to make me cry but when I got my book and opened it and saw my art I cried like a baby I was so happy to be a part of this project. my mom ordered 10 copies from the book store giving them out and showing it off to everyone she was so proud, If you happen to get a copy of it my pictures are on pages 28(black and white, Pen and ink took me 55 hours because of the size) & 95 (took about 8 hours painted with acrylic paint) this book means a lot to me I wish I had a bigger part but its okay. Still can’t believe what a day in Art Class turned out to be. With less personal time in my life I don’t get to draw/paint as much as I want too but ill never give it up. I see you post pictures you’ve painted and I just dream of the day we can paint together who knows maybe one day.
Really hoping i can finally meet you on this tour @taylorswift @taylornation
