#fanfiction#fanfic#danny phantom#dp#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#imo#opinion#a good angsty fic is a dream#but sometimes the phandom overdoes it#just looking at prompts here on tumblr#the prompt offers potential for a good crackfic taken seriously#and they STILL add angst to it#it ruins it imo#also the amount of times jack and maddie are depicted as absolutely horrible#I acknowledge they are neglectful and need to reconsider their priorities#but they don’t come off as intentionally abusive#also the assumption that they would automatically dissect Danny or give him up to the GIW#they’ve accepted Danny in canon#even if you don’t want to believe PP exists#I’m with you on that#Reality Trip still exists#there is angst in Danny’s parents having to come to grips with Danny being dead#there’s angst in them realizing they indirectly killed their son#there’s angst in knowing they’ve hunted him#and there’s angst in them having a crisis over something they’ve never considered#even if they believe ghosts to be ectoplasmic imprints of the dead#and not actually just the dead continuing into the afterlife#would they really look at the echoes of their dead children and see ecto-scum?#or would seeing all that’s left of their dead children who they love very much make they take a good look at their lives’ work?
