(i am still alive, BTW!! Just wanted to make that known!!! I know I've been extremely quiet lately but I'm on serious babysitting duty and so I just barely have time to do anything other than taking care of kids. I'll be done with that after wednesday of this upcoming week so hopefully I can get back to writing/posting/etc soon enough!)

(in order to keep this post On Brand, i actually did watch the mario movie with my two nieces (they are 4 and 6) yesterday and the younger one pronounces Luigi's name very earnestly as "Wa-Weegie" and it's the funniest, sweetest thing ever, i laugh every time)

#i have always known that L sounds are hard for young children but experiencing it in real life WILL catch you offguard in the best way lolol #my nieces had seen the movie once before but they were REALLY exited to watch again. they said it's one of their favorites :)#also the 6 year old during the sewer scenes coming in with some RUTHLESS mario criticism which caught me offguard lol #her: 'why did mario bring luigi down here? this is dangerous! he's older and luigi's younger. he shouldn't do that.'#me: well they always do everything together!#her (unmoved): it's not safe. i don't like that.#me internally: dang. harsh and a little bit fair #i additionally got told a riveting story by her about someone in her class who is in LOVE with mario (the man)#and pretends to be peach on the regular because of it when they play #and y'know what? relatable. live your truth little friend of my niece's
