okay i posted photos already but i wanna talk about the weekend so here is a summary: (this is a long post bc am on mobile i am so sorry)

1. FUCK showmasters. money-grabbing, delusional, godawful cunts. i'm glad he only had a 2-event contract with them, but i hope it doesn't put him off future UK cons

FUCK. showmasters. they deliberately oversold jq and didn't honour refunds, autographs were either included in diamond passes or bought on the day for £75 IN CASH??? and one of my new friends was the only one left when they cut for time from photo ops, she asked if she could just get one, JOE SAID YES BUT THE STAFF SAID NO. we had one staff member talking to us DIRECTLY about what time jq was paid to stay until, said "but it would be nice if he chooses to stay longer" and then started talking about how last year's summer event was so unfairly criticised?? and was like "even joe said he wasn't stressed" ofc he isn't gonna talk shit about a company he was still legally under contract for??? and one tried to tell us not to sit on the floor, 30ft away from the first aid room door, bc there was NO OTHER SEATING, saying that it's our own fault if we got mauled by a stretcher in an emergency. there was no emergency.

12. i have practically bankrupt myself at artist booths and i'm tempted to do it all again in liverpool in a few weeks lmfao

Couple of things in response to your anon queries over the last few days:

- Joe’s playing a prominent recurring character in Fargo. He’s Gator Tillman, the son of the main character, corrupt sheriff Roy Tillman (John Hamm). You’ll be getting more than one episode, don’t worry about that! Also - and I’m sorry if you already know this, but just to clarify- it’s not set in 2019, not the old west. I think people got the cowboy idea because Noah Hawley wrote an (excellent) article for The Atlantic called “It’s High Noon in America,” which was both a political commentary, and a reflection on how entertainment contributes to issues like distrust of authority by creating heroes who go against the system etc. In it, he shared a sample of S5 dialogue between Roy and Gator, which mentioned “high noon”:

Gator: “I swear to God, him versus me, man to man, and I'd wipe the floor with him.”

Roy: “What, like high noon? That only happens in the movies, son. In real life they slit your throat waiting for the light to change.”

I mean, Joe might still be playing a cowboy-ish type character if he works on a ranch I suppose? But as far as I know, there’s nothing to suggest that’s the case.

- Joe is well positioned to have a great career after ST ends. I’m a bit puzzled as to why anyone’s concerned for him to be honest! Free Guy was very well received and many reviews specifically mentioned Joe’s charm and his lovely chemistry with Jodie. One critic even said - and I quote - “Joe Keery proves he’s going to be just fine when Stranger Things ends.” Add to that, although Spree was controversial, it was still received more positive reviews than less glowing ones (thanks, tomatometer), and even negative reviews of the film praised Joe’s performance.

So that’s recent history. Looking at his current work, he has two films in the can, is currently filming Fargo, then starts Cold Storage, and then in 2024 goes back to filming ST. The guy is as busy as an actor could hope for. Going forward, even if none of the films make an impact (and that’s a big ‘if’, because I suspect Cold Storage at least is going to do very well), Fargo will raise his profile even higher than it already is.

Oh, and then there’s his music. We all know he’s genuinely talented in that regard, and so do the critics. But he’s deliberately flown under the radar with it, and so many people are missing out. Djo doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page for crying out loud. Maya Hawke, who has less than a third of the Spotify listeners Djo has, has a wiki page for each album! No hate for Maya - her stuff’s not my thing but it’s cool. I just think Joe’s music manager (who’s different to his acting one) is sleeping on that front.

Sorry for the Joe Keery essay. I’m just a huge supporter because he’s so talented, and is also genuinely lovely. People who’ve worked with him want to do it again, in large part because of his personality. We know the combination of those traits is what changed the trajectory of his character in ST, which was a remarkable thing in of itself. David Harbour, Brett Gelman, and Kevin Pollack have all pointed out how unusual it was, and praised both Joe and the Duffer Bros for it. It’s kind of refreshing to see someone in Hollywood getting rewarded for being a decent person, in addition to having acting abilities.

Joe deserves every success. Long may it continue!

The first time Steve saw you, you were cracking up at a dumb joke Robin had told you. Laughing so hard you were snorting and banging your hand down on the countertop at Family Video.

As soon as you left the store, rentals tucked under your arm, he peppered Robin with every question he could think of. He thought you were perfect.

"Well, she's super sweet, and funny. No big ego or anything, which is a shame for you, dingus. Maybe there's a chance though, with the whole "opposites attract" thing," she laughed, popping her gum to get under her best friend's skin. He just rolled his eyes.

In the few months since then, you and Steve had grown quite close, and spent almost every day together. You quickly became the third member of Steve and Robin's friendship, and Robin grew to love you as a sister. Steve, on the other hand, was starting to love you as, well as a lover. He got so flustered around you that he could barely form a sentence if you guys didn't have someone else to talk to. It was usually Robin, but she had recently been busy with Vicky.

On the same note, you were also starting to get feelings for Steve. You were so wrapped up in your own feelings for him, that you didn't even notice he had been acting weird around you. The worry that you would slip up and say something wrong, look too long, or hug him too tight kept your mind too occupied to think about any of his reactions to you.

Tonight you, Nancy, and Robin were getting ready in your bedroom while Steve, Jonathan, and Eddie got ready in the living room to go out to The Hideout. Eddie wasn't playing tonight, as it was Friday, but he was always down to have a good time. Vicky would be there anytime soon to pick you up and be the designated driver for the evening.

"Vicky's here!" Jonathan yelled as she pulled up in her mom's van. Nancy and Robin both ran outside with Jonathan and Eddie as you put the finishing touches on your makeup.

Steve walked to your door, knocking softly on the frame. "I know you heard him, gorgeous," he smiled, but when you turned to face him he was breathless.

"I know, Stevie," you grabbed your purse and went to walk by him, but he was unable to move. He was stuck with an arm resting on your doorframe, the other ghosting over your hip as you looked up at him. He moved his head towards yours, taking a deep breath, looking intently into your eyes. His scent was so comforting and exhilarating at the same time. You took a deep breath as he did, gently biting your lip as he leaned in. The two of you could feel the heat radiating off each other as your lips brushed against each other. This was it, you were finally going to kiss Steve-then Vicky honked her horn.

The Hideout was packed full of people. Luckily, Jonathan had somehow found a booth big enough to accommodate all seven of you, with you in between Nancy and Robin. Safety Dance started to play over the speakers as you took your third shot of the night, glancing at Robin before dragging her and Nancy out to the dance floor, the three of you giggling and squealing with glee as you finally let the stress of the week go.

Steve and the guys sat at the booth, laughing at the three of you while drinking their beers, your purse snug in his lap.

"Dude, you gotta say something to her," Eddie nudged him as he watched the way your hips swayed in your dress, sending suggestive glances his way as you danced. "She obviously has feelings for you. I bet if you asked Robin, she'd tell you," he said as he finished his beer, getting up from the table. "I'll get us another round."

Jonathan was quick to jump on Steve's case as soon as Eddie got up.

"Dude, I know it's kinda scary putting yourself out like that, but man...if I hadn't taken that chance with Nancy, there's no way we'd have ever gotten together. It's worth the risk," he patted Steve's shoulder.

"I know, I'm gonna tell her...but I need more liquid courage," he smiled as Eddie slouched at the bar, trying to flirt with a cute goth girl.

"No, now. Go dance with her," Jonathan gently pushed Steve out of the booth and onto the dance floor, earning a small huff from Steve as he accepted his fate. Entering the sea of people, he found the three of you quickly (of which he was very thankful).

semi-hiatus?

hi friends! i'll be starting classes again on september 26th (happy outbreak day to me lol) so i won't be as present on here as i would like.

i'll definitely have some downtime (ie weekends, days with no homework, etc) but i just wanted to let y'all know!

also, i don't really like using a queue so when i'm here, you'll see me. when i'm not, you won't lol

Apparently, I’ve had this blog for one year as of the 22nd of January!

I’ve been RPing Queen Momma Tenel Ka Djo (and Jacen Solo hahah) for so long but this has been my first experience with RPing on tumblr and it’s been a great one thanks to you all! ( ˘ ³˘)♥

To all the people who were here before me and guided me: You guys have been extremely welcoming and helpful -- especially since I came here in an attempt to drive away a multi-year writer’s block. I didn’t have a lot of hope to break it ( or confidence in myself that I could write and/or interact at all ) and within a couple months I was working on a whole ton of stories ( original and fanfiction ) thanks to the inspiration I got from multiple threads I had with a number of you! ♡

Special thanks to @sexyroguejedi, @aburningbrandtoyourenemies and @forcethroned -- you guys gathered my derpiness into your open arms and put up with me getting used to everything and I thank you so much for that. ;-;

And special, special thanks to @solo-knighterrant, my darling light side twinhalf. XD We originally started talking a long time ago due to our shared love for Jacen/Tenel Ka and the ridiculous amounts of headcanons and fic we produced because of it -- but we hadn’t talked a lot for a while until we found each other again here thanks to this TK journal! That one will have a number of shoutouts to the people I’ve run into here & there for the past year!) and am honored that you all have found something in this royal trash can of a blog that made you want to follow it. Whether you knew who Tenel Ka was beforehand or not!

I was worried when I made this journal that there would be no interaction for her anywhere since she was originally from the Expanded Universe that was canned when Disney took over ( and she wasn’t a main character in the EU to begin with, either ) but I have been so pleasantly surprised and excited for the number of people who have reached out to plot threads, talk about her character in general or commiserated w/ me over the loss of the Expanded Universe ( or what happened to her in the EU ).

Making new friends -- especially ones who will EU chatter with me, hahahah -- is one of my favorite things to do and even though I am an awkward bean of the human type, please don’t hesitate to reach out to plot or chat! I have enjoyed my year here with you talented crowd and look forward to more!
