This is a very good question because on the one hand most of them aren't expected to live past puberty, tied up with how Grace Field has this underlying oppressive air to it alongside rigid routines that can be applied to the clothing they wear like Kei Toda puts forth in chapter three of her book (one that I know you don't favor but for the sake of discussion):
And Grace Field might potentially be limited in what books it offers on the subject, either explicitly discussed in nonfiction texts or as an aspect of fictional stories.
(TPN Light Novel 1: A Letter from Norman - βThe Day Emma Criedβ)
But on the other hand, it couldn't hurt?
One of the main policies of Grace Field is the children living healthy lives and experiencing rich emotions, so to explicitly curtail and punish exploration of gender seems unnecessarily antagonistic and counterproductive. While Moms might not actively direct attention to it with how the farm system prioritizes their biological capabilities (obligatory "gross"), if a child brings it up on their own, it seems more beneficial to let the them explore how they feel during their blissful time at Grace Field than to tell them to squash it down and bottle it up.
So I have a headcanon that Christy is transfem. It literally started from a joke because I've seen "Chris" and "Christy" both. But it grew on me. I imagine her playing a lot with Yvette and other young girls and eventually realize she likes Christy better than Chris. (Though I eventually call her Cherise). She doesn't understand what it means until reaching the human world. It's so cute.
I LOVE THAT WHAT. christy is absolutely one of my favorite (s)he is just s o utterly precious to me, i cant even put it into words omlπππππ
that would be such a fun thing to explore tho. like. would any of them even know that concept exists? how would she realize what she was feeling was dysphoria? and most importantly- what Adorable ass outfits would anna and gilda (and nat) dress her inππππππ
