Hello hello! Hope you're doing well!

I'm here to tell you that i finally read Beartown – finished it last week and I'm still reeling?? It's one of the books you had recommended to me a WHILE ago, I remembered the book but unfortunately I forgot your warnings🥹 i went into it thinking 'yeah yeah the hockey book, alright' holy shittttttt hafsa! I don't think I've cried multiple times for the same book recently?? It was....like getting hit by a meteorite without warning (and i had warnings😂)

I'm glad we can't reach into books and kill the characters because I was ready to do it to like, half the cast.

But the characters I loved I will carry in my heart forever – Maya, Ana, Benji, Amat - even Bobo for god's sake?? Kira and Peter too. For real, this might be my favorite Backman I've ever read (so far), but at the same time I don't think I'll reread beartown ever? I'm glad there are two more books in the series but I'm not picking them up any time soon – I am drained lmao, my phone barely escaped a wall-smashing with this one 💀

In fact, my library hold for Us against you came through today and I postponed it to next month haha. thank you for the book rec!! 🩷

mia!!! oh beartown is a life changer for sure, i don't usually cry at books but beartown got me bad :((( i'm completely there with you about not ever rereading, i love rereading & especially when i first read beartown would reread ALL the time but i only ever reread it once to read the sequel when it came out, & i've never reread the sequels (the third book i read most recently & it absolutely destroyed me). it stays with you regardless, i still remember everything i felt reading even though it's been years :(( i also read it not knowing what was going to happen 😭 it hits you so hard. i'm so glad you liked it!!! it's such a powerful book <3

Alright, here's a few!

• Ness sings/hums a lot, especially when doing tasks. Mostly random tunes or made up lyrics that relate to the task he's doing, but he will also get popular songs stuck in his brain from the Diner.

• Aside from the Diner job, he also has a true crime podcast where he will talk about his own theories.

• He also sometimes Babysits Abby. They're friendship bracelet buddies, they rope in Mike (and eventually Vanessa, when she wakes up)

• Speaking of Vanessa, I like to think she was somewhat of a regular at Sparky's. So Her & Ness are somewhat friendly or at least acquaintances. She'd try to make him stop being so curious about Freddy's, but it'd backfire into him being even more interested.

• He's a clothes Thief, even if mike's clothes fit a bit awkwardly.

• Ness is also the big spoon, and is just touchy-feely in general.

• He has random bits and pieces of old Freddy's merch, including some rare collectables.

• I think when/if he & Mike were to get married, he'd a wear a suit like Shane madej's, embroidered n decorated all pretty n colorful instead of a plain suit (reference: https://www.tumblr.com/ostensiblynone/735786663030210560/rosecutclothing-caf%C3%A9-brauer-floral-suit-for)

• Like his real Life counterpart and also Me because I love projecting™, He has arachnophobia :)

• He's a weird Food & Food combos enjoyer. Hawaiian Pizza, Fries & Ice cream, Peanut Butter and Bacon, that sorta stuff.

I absolutely love the true crime podcast and him babysitting Abbie, it's cute to me that these have basically become fanon lol.

Also the thing about Vanessa trying to shut it down is so funny to me. She'd try to get him off the trail and he'd call her "Afton" so she knows its already far to late for that/hj

Him being the big spoon is so real too, I feel like he'd just initiate things a lot more than Mike does in general. He was definitely the first to ask about dating, I think I've said somewhere before that I feel like he'd say "I love you" a lot more than Mike does. I hc Mike would be more inclined to giving gifts/trinkets then going out of his way to complement Ness or cuddle him. He's the "I saw this cool looking scrap of metal on the side walk and thought of you" type, if Ness borrowed his clothes a lot I think regardless of how often he himself wore it he'd let Ness keep it.

Also im definitely of the believe that most of the things Ness eats are weird combos. He'll regularly encourage Mike and Abbie to eat full healthy meals and even cook for them, but when it comes to feeding himself he's running on one and a half lukewarm redbulls he found in his car and like a hand full of pretzels also found in his car. He's too busy pretending to be Fox Mulder to feed himself/hj

Zhanghao: Tzu Chi - this is self explanatory. HAO IS SO KOKO KOKO PIK?!*]^{ he’s definitely that one super smart senior that every girls had a crush on at one point, pulang sekolah dia makan di area pik bareng circle elite dan ganteng dia itu🤭

Hanbin: UPH - Guys…..hanbin in uph uniform….😍 he’s definitely a sociable and a super nice guy that everyone wants to be friends with, so any schools would fit him ngl, but just like jiwoong, if i think of hanbin, the first uniform i see him using is uph’s uniform🥰

Matthew: JIS - from what i’ve seen in my friends who attends jis, he’d blend in just well😁 everyone wants to be friends with him!!! he looks like a guy who could be a little hard to approach but he’d genuinely be so kind. he’s definitely apart of the popular circles in jis lmao

Taerae: BINUS School - based of the Binus I attended, they really focus on building student’s hobbies and character aside from only focusing on the academic skills, so I could definitely see taerae doing band practice every 3 days a week for school assemblies/events😋

Ricky: JIS - this is also self explanatory. he’d be in the same circle with matthew💯 he’d also look super intimidating, probably the most intimidating in the circle, but is the most soft hearted person in the whole school🥹 he’s definitely in the basketball team and EVERY GIRLS WANT HIM.

Gyuvin: BSJ - gyuvin is just so bsj coded. unlike jis, bsj has uniforms, and for some reason gyuvin is just such a uniform guy to me..does that make sense?😃 he’s practically friends with everybody in the school, he’s loud, but like not annoying loud, YKWIM??? he’s the mood maker in class that is actually and genuinely funny🤓

Gunwook: ACS - acs is a smart kid school. basically the crazy smart friends i had in middle school all moved to acs for highschool, so it just makes the most sense that gunwook goes there😍 although i do agree that gunwook gives of penabur vibes..but i also heard from my friends that goes to acs that a lot of the students there are korean guys who loves playing soccer, so gunwook definitely has a friend group🔥

Yujin: Mentari School - the uniform would look so cute on yujin🥲 he’s probably that one new kid that spawned out of nowhere and then all the girls has a crush on him while all the boys wanna be friends with him because he’s funny, cute, and TALENTED. I also considered on putting yujin in Binus, but i think mentari just fits him slightly better😵

AHHHHH. oh man also POOR MAI!!!!! so a crazy thing that happened is about ten or so chapters ago i got the crazy idea that what if ozai and mai got married? because i thought it was going to be azula and zhao initially but then i wasn’t sure that’s where that was heading. and then i was like, well, mai and ozai would make sense in the world of the fic and would be soul-destroying… so maybe…? and then kind of dismissed it bc it felt too far-fetched and like you were going the azula marrying someone route. let me tell you. I have never felt worse in my life about being right about something 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

but ajdksk AHHH. I’m never going to get over how you write all these characters!! I LOVE sokka and zuko, as always, especially them touching foreheads right in the middle of the camp 😭 and i LOVE how katara and zuko interact, holy shit. that convo they had in the last chapter?? i LOST IT. Also I’m OBSESSED with the potential future interactions of toph and zuko. I’m really excited for them to interact more!!!!!!!!!! And maybe bond over being visually impaired/Blind and maybe working on using bending as an accessibility aid together?? 👀👀👀👀👀👀 also IROH AND AZULA. AZULA AND KAZUMA. theres such a big jump with the days from ch 10 to ch 11 already… i’m getting worried 😭 being at 191 days… wasn’t karina getting deathly ill when she had less than 100 days left? the picture has also gotten really dull. i want things to get better for yn cause she deserves better than how mina is treating her rn (not to mention haerin!! what’s even gonna happen to her if yn d words.. i feel like she’s gonna be so devastated oh my god) but also i’m lowkey a heavy angst enjoyer and i want to see a version where yn hollows out and passes away and mina is left to live the rest of her life carrying the guilt that she was doomed to lose her soulmate anyway the second she chose her own selfishness.

gonna be 100% honest with you babe, i don’t think i could be of much help to you. creative writing is just very different to writing a statement of purpose haha 🥺 “your purpose” is something that you’ll need to figure out yourself, and those will stem from your personal ambitions, goals, passions, and things that motivate you. find a way to “sell yourself”, be in tune with yourself, ask yourself; what made you want to apply to universities overseas instead of your homeland? was it for greater education? different environment? how do you see yourself as a student in this university if you do get in? how are you gonna spend the next 4-6 years studying in this university? how do you expect yourself to be once you’ve graduated from this university? those questions will determine your goals, and your dedication to reaching those goals will be your purpose. best of luck <33 you can do it

hellooo, this ask was deep in my inbox so i’m not sure if you’re still here 😭 sorry for the late reply. it’s scary at first, and i’m not gonna lie, depending on your career, 90% of the time you’ll be drained. i’m extremely overworked and now i’m transitioning to a different department that has no correlation to writing at all. am i happy about it? no. i’m actually crying about it for the past few weeks. but i wanted to pursue my promotion bc it’s career growth (and they’re gonna double my salary 😹). so i guess what i’m trying to say is, there are pros and cons for us working in the corporate world. it’s tough, it’s hectic, it’s competitive—but that’s just how it is everywhere. you’ll be able to manage it once you’re there. and somehow, no matter how busy or how extremely exhausted i am, i naturally crave writing so that’s why i try to spend my extra time writing 1-2k words even if i’d end up having only 3 hours of sleep on a weekday. it depends how passionate you are for writing, because even when i started working, i never lost the passion. i do go through writing slumps here and there, but i find a way to get over it. so don’t be scared! as long as you’re able to keep a healthy balance between your career and personal life, everything will be okay. you can just use writing as an avenue to release stress! or you can even write on weekends! :)

Oklahoma, let me say it it' not like California for sure.lol. The city where I live is pretty small and definitely fits my imagination about where a serial killer lives or an injured superhero who hides here. lol.

I'm still adjusting with such changes actually. Sometimes I'm bored here, sometimes I love the quite.. The weather is like a bipolar bitch that can give you a hot humid burning slap in the face or a cold shoulder. hahaha. My allergies are worse here. Pollen are everywhere but I love the house that I live now. It's smaller but more hommie (Not sure the right way to spell it but im sure you know what you meant.)

I posted new series called Half Love, also a mini series called Ten Days. I posted ch, 63 of Lost in Assistance, this chapter is how I test the water on writing dark fic. I have been dying to write dark wanda or dark nat fic. So i practiced writing it through this ch. 63 as I wrote it dark-ish. I dont know if you read the fics I just mentioned..so curious what you think about them.

And about the period talk, please I'm jealous that you tend to get horny during your periods. All my periods bring with themselves is tons of tears and screams and the unnecessary need to pop in a painkiller bc the pain is too unbearable for me. Hiii new anon here, I want to say one or two things about skz seventeen interview (which was a chaotic mess as its finest but I'm happy that they were enjoying thsemselves in that interview)

- I think seungmin's loud answer about "What Hyun loves" was actually the safest answer they could go with. It was funny, it was witty, it shows how close they are together and and how tight their friendship is. I always see seungmin as one of Skz member that actually holding so many 'teas' about the members, he would always be the one skz members go to when they want to talk about something deep and personal (bin and hyun i think mentioned about that in their 2kr). So, at that, seumgmin who knew what the people wanted to hear, just said that and threw everyone under the bus 😂 (which was so funny to watch). (Well.. I also noticed that the first one who filled the blank of 'What Hyun loves' was actually changbin who shouted 'Stays' but he was unheard by them because of Min's answer, well... that was for another story 😌)

- I also take note at how bangchan was trying to say something about felix (I can't remember which part, I might need to watch that interview again), but then it was cut... or because he took to long to answer, the members just jumped to another member who could answer faster (is it that 'felix always' question??? Idk, i'm old and forgetful yall 🤠). (On a serious note, that 'felix always...' question was also iconic because chan just blatantly said 'lose... in game' and poor man was so lost when he said that, sorry chan but felix didn't deserve the slander 😔🤚🏽)

- the last one, is for changjin (because I'm also into them these days). I also see at the end of the interview that Changbin was trying to say something, and hyunjin pointing his hand at him to signal that changbin wants to say a thing, but then he didn't say anything (i think it was cut?? Yeah, i think it was cut). (Also, honorary mention for the first part of that interview where hj felt cb's body up hahahahaha... ahh, much to think about, much to think about)

i am actually fairly new to anime. like i've always been aware of it, i was (still am) a huge geek in public school, so i had heard about naruto and sailor moon back in the early 2010s, but i had no way of watching it myself. my partner is also really into anime, so i've been in the same room when they've watched things, but i didn't personally get into it until a little over a year ago! it was with boku no hero, so that's probably more cliche than death note at this point😂😭

The question for this week is a little more involved, you probably need time to think, so I'm definitely not expecting an answer any time soon. i'd rather you take your time and really think about it if you need to since this will probably heavily influence what i make for you and i want to make sure that you've picked something you really like

oh i’m glad to hear the ynm anime is really similar to the manga! i was debating whether to read it first but i might start out watching the anime and then see how it goes. and right!! otabek is such a sweetheart, i love how at first he seems so stoic and closed off but he has a whole other side of him as well 🥺

oooh bnha is a great starter anime tho! it's one of the first ones i watched as well! same here tho, i've always been sort of aware of anime i just didn't get into it until fairly recently. aww that's sweet that your partner is into anime too! it's like a whole different world at first i think, so it definitely helps when someone you know is also really into it so you can navigate it together lol, so it's nice you can both share that! 💕

A little spark of electricity runs up his spine and buzz the back of his neck when their eyes meet. His lips part slightly to let out a quiet gasp of admiration at how pretty her eyes sparkle up at him. That buzzy feeling in his nape intensifies when he catches the pink in her cheeks. ‘So pretty’ he thinks.

“This week then? I’m also free for a good couple of days. Trained with the new guys all last week, remember? I don’t have to go back in for a bit so I got some time to go hiking.” He says with a grin, also excited to go on adventure with her and have her show him the world from her eyes. It was amazing from the preview she just showed him, and he wanted to see more. Spending some quality time with just her is also something he’s looking forward to.

“Oh? I don’t mind that. What would you like me to make to go along with your curry, my dear?” He pouts just a little when she stands up and leave his side but perks up when she offers her hand. He slips his large hands into her smaller ones and gives it a squeeze before standing up and following her to the kitchen; the buzzy feeling in his nape still giving him good shivers.

“hmm… i was gonna suggest rice but that doesn’t leave you much to do” she giggles softly as she thinks.

“you could always help me chop veg as well?” she suggests as she grabs various bits of equipment and they get started on the prep, occasionally glancing over and admiring him as he is concentrating on the task.

She is so lucky to be able to spend time with him like this.
