Thinking about the parallels and differences between Marie Levesque's relationship with Pluto and Maria di Angelo's relationship with Hades
In both flashbacks, we see Hades/Pluto trying to convince them to stay/go somewhere for their and their children's protection and both women refuse his request, but where those scenes differ is in how they respond to him
Maria is so patient and loving towards Hades. She never raises her voice, she repeatedly calls him my love, and yet is firm about not raising their children in the underworld. She only sees the good in Hades - calls him kind, generous, insists the other gods wouldn't be afraid of him if they saw him the way she does. She has unwavering faith that he will protect her, and won't allow any harm to come to Nico and Bianca. There is actual love there, and we get the sense that they did have a good relationship despite him being a god
Queen Marie, on the other hand, deeply resents Pluto. She's angry to the point of throwing and breaking things around her home, and blames him for all of their misfortune. It's Pluto's fault that Hazel is cursed, it's Pluto's fault that people around them are dying, it's Pluto's fault that the police thinks she's a murderer and her clients think she's a witch. Unlike Maria, Queen Marie doesn't believe that Pluto has ever protected them, nor does she want him to, not after how much he has ruined her and Hazel's life. There's little love there like with Maria and Hades, little trust - just bitter angry resentment.
And it makes sense that they would react so differently! We don't get the sense that Hades's godhood has affected Nico or Bianca in any tangible way (at this point, anyway). They're playing together when Hades visits Maria and seem happy. They're not cursed the way Hazel is. They don't have dangerous and harmful powers that they can't control (that we know of). Of course Queen Marie would resent Pluto in ways that Maria doesn't; the wish Pluto granted Queen Marie has actively made their life worse. The di Angelos were fine. The di Angelos were thriving. They had nothing to worry about until the Great Prophecy was issued, and Maria had no reason to believe that Hades couldn't protect them from Zeus when he had protected them thus far. He hadn't done anything to hurt her the way that Queen Marie believed Pluto hurt them.
But here's the thing though: Queen Marie was being manipulated by Gaia. Both she and Pluto tell Hazel that The Voice turned her against him. Just before Queen Marie and Pluto speak to each other in the first flashback, we see her push back against Gaia's request to go to Alaska precisely because Pluto told her it wasn't safe and that he wouldn't be able to protect her and Hazel there. Gaia was the one who convinced her that it was Pluto's fault that Hazel was cursed; after all, it's much easier to blame him than to admit to herself that it was her wish and her greed for "all the riches in the world" that lead to Hazel's predicament.
Gaia preyed on Queen Marie's frustration with herself and with Pluto to manipulate her into bringing Hazel to Alaska to raise her son from the earth. It was this manipulation that lead her to blowing up at Pluto when he tries to convince her to stay in New Orleans. Maria didn't hate Hades because the gods didn't torment her the way Gaia tormented Queen Marie.
Which raises the question: if Gaia hadn't messed with her head, would Queen Marie have loved and trusted Pluto the way Maria loved and trusted Hades? Could Pluto and the Levesques have played happy families the way the di Angelos did with Hades? It's more complicated because Gaia's absence would not have fixed Hazel's curse so it's entirely possible she still would have resented him, but I have to wonder:
Was there ever a world where the Levesques could have been happy?

Why Hanzo is a Scorpio.
Tumblr media
Mysterious, Charming, and Confident
Scorpio are probably the most mysterious of all the zodiac signs. The reason for this is that they are very secretive. Added to that is their famous (or infamous) all-penetrating gaze that can make almost anyone feel naked.
While a Scorpio male can read most people like an open book, he is one person you can never read completely. He is so deep that it may take a lifetime for you to understand him. He is also sometimes referred to as the James Bond of the zodiac. This is because of the mysterious and confident aura he emits around him, which draws the opposite sex to him.
Passionate and Intense
No other sign in the zodiac compares when it comes to being passionate. They are considered the most passionate and the best lovers you can find. Unfortunately, most people limit their thoughts of passion to sex and romance. But a Scorpio male is passionate not only in the department of love but in everything he does.
If he is doing something he really loves, he will put his heart and soul into it, which is immediately evident to all those around him. If you see a man talk very passionately about something he cares about, he may be a Scorpio. But his passion can be a double-edged sword—he loves passionately, and he hates passionately. There is no middle ground.
Tough But Soft
Scorpio men have a very tough outer shell but are very soft inside. His emotions run quite deep, and he knows that. This is probably why he puts up a tough facade—he doesn't want to get hurt.
This tough, yet calm face is also the reason why people don’t easily approach him. This, coupled with his non-trusting nature, is the reason why he has so few friends in his inner circle. It is indeed very tough to get into his inner circle, but if you are lucky enough to make it there, he is one guy who is willing to sacrifice himself for you.
Emotional and Intelligent
Scorpios are often notorious for making decisions with their hearts. However, this is not always true. It is true that they are passionate and make decisions that appeal to their emotions, however, they are masters of both emotion and logic. As much as they tend to make an emotional decision, he is also very good at looking at the entire situation in a logical and analytical way, and if he feels it's right, no one can stop him from making that decision.
Wise and Mature
It is also said that Scorpios, in general, are wise beyond their age. This is true. A Scorpio guy may not be a math or economics wiz or a rocket scientist, but he is one of the most intelligent and wise people you will find. It is difficult to understand why this is so. I think of it this way—what most people have to learn through years of experience, he already knows.
Ambitious
Scorpio men are also highly ambitious. He may never tell you exactly what his goals in life are (remember his ever-present aura of mystery), but he certainly has them, and he wants to achieve them at any cost. However, though Scorpios love to lead a good life surrounded by luxuries, their end goals are not necessarily money oriented. They are generally more oriented towards achieving something that gives them emotional—and more importantly, spiritual—satisfaction. They also tend to have high standards for themselves and those around them.
Powerful
A Scorpio easily attracts and is attracted to power, but this does not necessarily mean that he wants to be in the limelight. In fact, unlike certain other zodiac signs who like to be in the limelight while wielding power, a Scorpio man rarely craves a position at the forefront. His sign is ruled by Pluto (or Hades), lord of the underworld. As such, he prefers to avoid the limelight. Rather than take center stage, he likes being in the wings while he pulls the strings.
Focused
Once a Scorpio man has a goal set in mind, it's extremely difficult to diverge him from that path. This is a double-edged sword! While this hyper-focus can be a very positive trait, it can easily cross the line and verge on obsession.
Honest
While Scorpio men are well known for being guarded and secretive, don't confuse those traits with dishonesty. They rarely pretend and are very bad at telling lies (and hate when others do so). They may tell occasional white lies, but they can never truly pretend or fake, which means they often come off as overly blunt. So please refrain from asking an honest opinion from a Scorpio man if you aren't ready to hear an honest answer.
Vindictive and Unable to Forgive
There's a reason the quote "Hell hath no fury like a Scorpio scorned" is so common in astrological articles. This is the negative trait Scorpio men are most famous for. But before describing it, here is a clarification—Scorpio men are very warm and friendly people, as long as you do not cross them. If you prove your trustworthiness, a Scorpio will be willing to give his life for you. However, never make the mistake of getting on his bad side.
Unlike his female counterpart, who may forgive you for your foolishness of crossing her, a male Scorpio rarely forgives, and even if he does, he will never forget your offense. At best, you may never be able to regain his trust. At worst, he may go to any extent to have his revenge. As the cliché goes, he can be your best friend or your worst enemy.
Short-Tempered and Excessively Jealous
This is another very common trait of this sign, especially in romantic relationships. If a Scorpio man doesn't feel like he's getting your undivided attention or he thinks someone else is pursuing you, things will get ugly. While he is very thoughtful and rational most of the time, these are instances where he simply cannot access his rational side. In extreme cases, his jealousy might lead to acts of vengeance and manipulation, so take care not to trip this "jealousy switch" if at all possible.
They experience love very deeply, so any hint of betrayal hits us harder than it might for another sign. The positive side of this trait is that it shows just how committed Scorpio men are once they decide to enter into a romantic relationship.
Overly Secretive
Scorpio men are the ones who are most commonly accused of being highly secretive (at least I get it all the time from people around me). They do not open up easily to people around them since they don’t trust people easily.
A Scorpio man may know you for a lifetime but still won’t reveal all his secrets to you. Even the most socially active and talkative Scorpio man has his secrets and will never talk about them. He would rather die for his secrets than reveal them, even to those closest to him. Giving up his secret is like taking out a part of his body.
The positive side of this trait is that he'll be just as guarded with your secrets, so he makes a great confidant.
Moody
Let me explain this. Scorpios are deep thinkers. When a Scorpio man is dealing with a challenge or facing issues, he tends to withdraw into his shell, unlike others who voice their problems. Once he withdraws into his shell, he tries solving problems in his own way in a focused manner. He doesn't like anyone interrupting in any way when he is thinking deeply, so when someone tries to interfere with his problem-solving process, he tends to get agitated and irritated.
When his problem-solving cap is not on, however, he is generally a warm and a happy person. This frequent change in his behavior is generally perceived as a mood swing.
Prone to Melancholy
Due to their rich inner life and proneness to periods of deep reflection, Scorpios also tend to be quite emotional. Unfortunately, this can often lead to melancholy and moodiness. In part, this may be due to the fact that their secretive nature means that no one truly knows who they are (a feeling that can lead to profound loneliness), but their tendency toward melancholy might also be more generally linked to their deeper understanding of the dark and sinister aspects of the world.
