watching the mdzs donghua and it’s really good, I think I might even like it better than the live action. I just wish the adaptations could stick to the split timeline. I understand it can be confusing but I really do think it adds so much tension to the narrative, the audience seeing wei wuxians relationships with everyone in the present contrasted with the past, seeing the type of person he was and wondering how he could have turned out so “evil” and why everyone he was close with in his youth are his enemies in the present day. I don’t even think it would be that confusing to switch timelines in the show, if it’s possible for book readers to be able to follow along im sure it would be even easier to understand in a visual medium
