As someone who received their first seasons of shadowhunter shipment already I wanted to put together this post as an unofficial guide of what to expect since a lot of you have questions. Please help spread this around if you can!!

Will I get an email to tell me my order has shipped?

Yes. You will receive an email from “Seasons of Shadowhunters” once your order ships. It will contain a tracking number and a link to an article that will explain more about international shipping.

What can I expect from the package?

The package is small, the size of the book and should fit comfortably in most mail / P.O. Boxes. (I know personally the mail person will not leave a package at my door. If it doesn’t fit in the mailbox, they won’t deliver it!) It is black with white runes. I was informed courtesy of @thephonyqueenofengland that the eye catching package may make it more susceptible to theft in some areas so please be aware.

I haven’t received an email yet. Should I be concerned?

Nope! Mailing these out appears to be a slow process and I have heard from many people who haven’t heard anything yet. It’s normal! Very few people have received their shipment. Just keep an eye on your email (and spam folder), and if the time comes where this does start to become a concern, shoot an email to kshelp@cassandraclare.com

What all am I getting again?

The first shipment contains the book “Secrets of Blackthorn Hall” with full color endpapers and a ribbon book mark. Also included are bonus items “So Your House is Cursed” pamphlet, 3(?) stickers (originally it was announced to be 4, but I only received 3, as did others to my understanding), and the Polaroid pictures from the night of Kraig’s retirement party. Those who backed the project in the first 48 hours will also receive a booklet containing the twp sneak peak.

how to make a tumblr post (and get notes!)

Have never seen any post discuss these exact things, so i'm sharing my insights with y'all*

Use images. They don't have to be good or spectacular like this extremely coherent thing I just made. They just need to catch the eye break up dashboard monotony.

The gif search feature is an unreliable wild card at best and a NSFW eye gouge at worst, but it gives credit to the op of the gif

If you're an artist your whole post is your images, so skip to the links and tags section of this post because the rest won't help much.

When making a post that contains images, hover over an image and click the meatballs icon in the lower right corner of the image. Click "update description" to add a description. It isn't always necessary, but it is very courteous for a variety of accessibility reasons.

Break up your text. Run-on sentences are standard here, lack of punctuation too, you can really do whatever you want, but avoid massive blocks of text. unless you've got a really incendiary opening line and the entire center of that granite chunk of text is actually comedy gold, hard-hitting tumblr journalism, or one of those zany confessional posts that can be followed up by the drive thru meme

and go light on the ALL CAPS. save it for emphasis or when you're feeling very unhinged or saRcAStiC y'know how that goes, i don't need to explain it. this site has a very dry tone to its posts so caps are rare. also periods

Bullet points and numbered posts are good and fine. The "Chat" post option is used less often these days, but different groups found uses for it so it sticks around.

Titles Matter

they help break up text and put people at ease. they are best for informative, mature posts but can make you look like a square in more relaxed conversations. sometimes they are also great for emphasis in a comedic sh*tpost (censorship is entirely up to you, btw. you don't have to censor much on tumblr except titties and genitals).

Tumblr automatically shortens long posts now, but etiquette asks that you tag #long post if you want to avoid clogging up someone's dash. It don't matter too much though, this is the "color of the sky" site, so get used to posts being too long

That being said "READ MORE" is a fantastic feature. Use it when you want some level of privacy like "hey, only click below if you want to hear about my problems" or "click below to read my 18+ fanfic." Read more is also great in case you want to delete something forever. If a reblogged post has a read more, but op deleted the og post, that content is gone (readmore has to be on the og post at time of posting for this to work, btw; edits to og post do not span all reblogs)

the other bells and whistles like colored font or italics are helpful in improving text, but we don't really rely on them. every mode of looking at this site alters those aspects somehow so we often ignore them

Hint: People don't want to click links. We don't know where they're taking us. Most of us are on our phone and don't want to open another tab or leave the app to go on the browser. We're cozy here on Tumblr and do not wish to be whisked away (unless it's a rickroll)

Don't leave the link thumbnail to do all the work, like so

add a little sneak peak info, maybe your favorite line from the article or a reason why it's important for people to know the info on the other side of that link. Sell it!

When you're adding a link into a list, i.e. no large thumbnail just a line of text leading you to another site, try not to copy/paste the link as is

"https://......"

No one wants to click on that it's gross and scary. It's screams "meh, i'll click later if i feel like it." If the build up to the link is too good to resist ("if you want to save the orphaned puppies here's the link") then that http mess is sufficient.

Otherwise, dress your links up a little by including the title or a description of what the link goes to:

Or, if it's an informal post where you're just popping info in to back up whatever insane thing you just said, just write something like "link here" or "(x)" and hyperlink it.

artists, writers, and other creators: leave a tag on your creative content that makes it easy for blog visitors to see it all at once. e.g. "My work" and we click on that while on your blog and see only your works

You can have up to thirty tags on any post. All will make your post show up in searches and followed tags (it used to be only the first five tags that got you traction). However,

Everyone here hates that

No one is going to check all those tags ever. Someone might search one five years from now and accidentally find your post hanging out in the ether and they'll still ignore it.

Your imagination is wicked tiny because I guarantee the perfect tag is going to be something indecipherable and seemingly niche.

Follow popular tags (or at least be aware of them)

If yours is an off-the-cuff post and you don't have time to find out what a niche group is into then wing it, sure, idc. this is also the shitposting site do whatever you want

Don't put your hate in the fan tags. This is the unapologetically-like-dumb-things site and your negativity is not wanted. You can still complain, just avoid tagging to get the attention of the fans of whatever you're complaining about. That enables pvp and even nonfans will know you deserve the backlash

clickable by nature because we all love noise and moving images so there's no special way to share posts like this. just post them with good tags and maybe a one-liner, and they'll sell themselves

Tip: it's nice to add descriptions to these too but it isn't common

Protip: if the audio is the best part of the video (e.g. a baby burps REALLY loudly and it's hilarious) please caption or tag "Unmute!"

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: 5.16 The Body

tw Death of a major character, grief, dealing with the death of a parent

Buffy, Dawn, and their friends deal with the aftermath of Joyce's death.

The purposeful removal of music for the whole episode, the grief portrayed, the portrayals of people with varying amounts of interaction with death. It hits so hard.

This episode killed me. I have never watched anything that has fully encompassed the feeling of loss and what it's like to experience death close to you than The Body. It is an absolute gut punch in the best way. I actually had to take a week off of watching Buffy to recover because I was so destroyed. 12/10 I don't think I will ever be able to watch this episode of TV ever again

One of the greatest depictions of grief and bereavement of all time. Both formally inventive and unique in its cinematography, sound design, editing etc. while also being an incredible personally affecting emotional experience.

There’s another buffy episode that probably deserves the title more, but I did have to give this one some recognition. For a whacky silly show about vampires, this episode is maybe the realest portrayal of death and grief I’ve ever seen. It’s not just a sad episode that makes audiences cry - I mean it is that - but it’s also this incredible examination of what it’s like to lose someone, and how the world shifts on its axis when that happens. The lack of any non diegetic music is an amazing touch to give this episode a sense of distance from all others. It’s real in a way that’s hard to watch but also unforgettable. Certain scenes and lines will always stay with me and will forever shape my feelings on life and loss.

Diverse Stardew Valley 4.0 Sneak Peak!

Hey everyone! DSV 4.0 is getting close to being done, so I thought I’d show off some of the cool stuff that’s gonna be included! 😊 I’ve also been sharing little snippets in the DSV Discord server recently, so if you’re not already a member, check our website for the link.

It’s pretty long and has a lot of images, so click through to see them!

The big news is that DSV 4.0 will move back to an all-in-one download (and will also be hosted on Nexus again) with a SMAPI component, DSV Core, which will consolidate all of the config options for more convenience. DSV Core is the hard work of KediDili from a concept originally by Nuztalgia!

It’ll also mean that other mods will be able to read your DSV config choices, which opens up a lot of potential for compatibility! Platonic Partners and Friendships users may be familiar with how this works, since PPAF has a similar feature and DSV is able to automatically provide compat depending on your PPAF config.

Options will be divided into different pages so that it’s not an overwhelming list of choices, and DSV Core will also automatically disable compatibility options for other mods if you don’t have that mod installed, so it’ll reduce some of the option clutter. We’ve also future-proofed the config so that you also won’t need to redo your config settings when we add more options in the future and added a function to automatically fix common typos in manually-edited config.jsons!

As you can see in the screenshot above, 4.0 will also add dialogue for many characters related to DSV’s variants! This feature has been much requested and a lot of people have contributed dialogue, so thank you to everyone who wrote some lines for us 💖 If you’re interested in helping out with dialogue as well, feel free to join the DSV server and chat to us about it!

Another major content update will be DSV’s swimsuits! We’ve updated all of the swimsuits to have fresh new designs, and there’ll be a new option for every character with a beach swimsuit in the vanilla game to use either the vanilla design (with some minor tweaks to clean up art issues & match DSV’s bases) or the DSV design.

gotham coalesced to a mass of utter disaster by the vampires, any ritzy of the city gone and longed with languid, and there was not one thing you could do about it, batman’s dead and so was the rest of your family; but nightwing emblazoned quite well his act of innocence with zero suspicion gained from you all on his below the surface.

you somehow survived, or richard allowed your breathing, far from delighted at his generous grace of kingship — you presume it’s his twisted way of making you suffer, knowing he was the grim reaper of your siblings and bruce, fooled them and betrayed them far worse than any enemy, and there’s nothing you can do about it, or at least knowing selina’s short lease keeps you tight far enough.

abrasive you suppose, but selina onuses herself for you when she’s farthest from being required to do so, and you hope your gratitude for selina beams brightly, maybe her reasoning for clothing, feeding you, guarding you from the despair of gotham and whatever else was some profoundly sense of duty of debt to bruce; you truly don’t know why selina took you in but you’re thankful regardless. you’re jaunty of selina, and in ways you know she retracts the same from the fact of her allowance of you sneaking in her room every night to seep comfort.

any buoyant of such is bleary tonight though, her reaction nulled to hearing your presence entering the living room, the large area purging somber and murk more than usual, and from the raised peaks of your top, colder too. the ambience blatantly indignant, perched perfectly cat-like on the stem in the nook under the window overlooking, her face scowled in anger.

“where’s harley?” you ask quietly and padding towards the nearby wooden table next to selina,   genuinely curious, as well as wanting to spark a conversation, maybe also seeking some attention from her.

her gaze intakes yours with her attention  focusing on you now, features algid and spleen, and for a second you think her brise fire is aimed at you, the mere thought almost has you bawling hot tears with a deep pout. her features softens from your flash of expression, her brows creasing a frown, albeit towards an approach.

“she left us, a stupid dream of escape out of gotham.” selina rolls her eyes and turns back to the darken green outside the glass, the angst of her mien side forge; induce flawed compared to her other acts of facades that it almost infuriated with the weak ink ticking at her nerves to put better effort, until she reminds herself you’re the naïve ever trusting human of hers, probably the only bat that ever trusted her. the thought of her being asinine about harley’s self demise is funny enough to take strength for selina not to laugh, with harley out of the picture you’re in the free ground of her complete taking. sparing a side glance to your reaction, deferring a hiss from the glimpse of excitement and hope in your eyes.

a burning rage engages in her chest, her gums throbbing in an effort of withholding her fangs, seemingly it goes unnoticed by you, probably endeavoring cloud your senses and  surroundings with all sorts of rebellion and hopes to reunite with what remains of the justice league; she couldn’t —wouldn’t— allow you to have any dreams or chance for any of those thoughts and ideas swimming in your head. she’ll break you down and crush any batman form of sense and value in you, hallow you out to be perfect as minutes before, or even better than before.

“why didn’t you tell me? why didn’t she take me with her?” you ramble out frantically, vexation snapping your tone, why wouldn’t selina tell you harley found a way out of gotham? she’s privy to everything you could accomplish if your foot touches outside of the city. pinning on your heel impatiently for a reasoning, facing her and becoming taken aback at selina’s anger pointed at you, her jaw strained and lips stretched in a snarl. you  swallow some and shake your head, in another state of mind you would probably be crying from selina staring at you with her expression but with any chance of being able to leave gotham has your full heed.” if i leave now i can maybe catch up to her.”

“no!” you stumble back in haggard afeard steps, selina’s hand gearing your head towards her now exposed fangs wide in a hissing, her eyes bright with scarlet instead of green, torrid acid strips your throat to your stomach; that quite literally feels like it dropped to the stone floor with your heart rapidly beating to the point for a good solid second you think it’s actually out of your chest with the intense drubbing. shock startles under all the nerves connected within, fear and a jolt of seething betrayal following suit. selina’s features still clinched with her fangs retracing barely some, her grip remaining sturdy.”greedy little brat, i clothe you; i feed you and you wanna leave me?”

“get the fuck off me!” you scream as your thrusts of your arms glosses-over, your attempt evidently occurred to her already at her lack of faze other than brief annoyance.”i fucking hate you, you’re one of them, a filthy leech.”

flaming skin presses against yours, strangling a choked high pitched whine with your head coming into contact towards the desk, selina fully towering over you with your back spread across the hard oak; the sharp of her slight abjured fangs now gleaning in full effort of their beauty. throwing your head to the side, screwing your eyes closed to escape your view, selina being a vampire slamming a jack hammer into the same wound of the realization of dick’s true self, maybe even more with your newly blossomed feelings since she’d taken you in.

her lips gliding back into a growl,”you’re mine honey, my darling human slave,” you keep your eye sight closed, wishing to close off her words as well, especially with the unwanted aroused pulling at your stomach. her nostrils twitch some before inhaling deeply, a smirk calming down the storm on her face”does my little bat likes being addressed as my slave?.”

you draw out a whine that quickly results into a hitch, selina’s nails engraving into your flesh as you feel a butterfly’s jitter against your senses, her lips barely brushing yours has you letting out a meekly moan unconsciously.

“i can smell you little bat, begging to be devoured extra tonight,” you opted still with silence, ignoring her words and the waving flood of embarrassment of unknown, your mind flashing of each time you were titillate by her throughout the months.”i’ll fuck you tonight, finally make you a woman, something bruce never had the chance to do..” you squeezed your already closed eyes, your legs following along as far as they can with selina being slot between them, her words painfully having an effect as she takes another deep inhale.

“open your eyes,” her demand that quickly gets dismissed from your lack of operating and sealing your eyes shut, bursting a gasp when selina’s hand coaxing one out of you, grasping your throat to it feels like your windpipe is crushing on itself, with you clawing at her hands serving no justice.”open your eyes sweetheart.”

unable to breathe you fly open your eyes and mewt her darken green ones, her lips craving into a smirk again, grip lighting but leaving her hand in place without the strength.” you look so darling like this,” she coo’s gently, composure smooth without any wrinkles from past seconds of behavior before, her fingers nimbly jutting downwards to the exposed opening of your sundress, ghosting along the lace lining of your panties. pulling and letting them snap back to your hips with a sting, exhaling a breathy whine out of you, enduring any sense stored in you from whatever twisted arousal you’re feeling.”stop.” you faintly whisper that goes undermined.

“if only bruce could see you now, sprawled out so pretty for me,” her words weighting down your guilt evermore, the heat from the confusing swirl of anger and lust directed at selina, she seems perfectly occupied with other matters with her hand gripping inch and inch your thigh under your dress, this time roughly pulling down your panties that you’re sure you heard a ripple, until you’re confirmed so when shreds of the material comes in your eyesight.”all mine.” she purrs happily in a possessively manner, nuzzling her nose up and down across the base of your throat.

her thumb pressing down on your clit while  ravishing in your meek response of delight or complaint, you, yourself couldn’t separate the borderlines, she assumes it’s the first with your pitched whine when her lips attach in the dip of your  shoulder blade and neck and kissing along, suddenly sinking her fingers inside you and earning a high breathy moan out of you with a jarring of your back going upwards, feeling her lips  stretching into a smirk against your skin. open palm brushing your nerves as she set a steady trusting, clear that she’s not merciful in the path with her rhythm harsh and no warm-up, tears burning the back of your eyelids from the rush ample stretch of selina’s digits, the pain twisting itself in pleasure.

Today was my birthday, so I'm going to do a rare thing and treat myself by posting a bit of a teaser for a fic that I've been working on for about a year and a half (at least April of 2023). The story is very close to being finished (I'm on the last chapter!) but it's going to take a lot of editing, so I don't know when it will be ready to start posting it properly on AO3. Overall, the fic will run twenty chapters (about 100k words by the time it's ready to post).

The story is called Salt for Salt. It's a Janus-focused supernatural AU about friendship, family, and finding home (and also sea monsters).

Janus's father had been a con artist and a thief who—in his son's expert opinion—never failed to ruin everything he touched, Janus's life included. When the handling of his father's will revealed that his identity had been built upon forged documents, Janus had watched the life he had worked to build for himself fall disastrously apart. Expelled from university, burdened with debt, and barred from most employment, Janus was left almost aimless in the aftermath, with only the support of his closest friends to keep him afloat. Years later, stuck in a rut and with little left to lose, Janus decided to take a gamble. Following the trail of one of his father's old stories, Janus set out in search of clues about the other side of his family—whoever they turned out to be. That search has led him to the cold, remote island of Inch Murrough. Now it should only be a matter of navigating the social complexities of a small town and the colorful characters that lived there… (Needless to say, drawing the attention of the local sea monsters had not been part of his plan.)

Chapter One: Stars in the Sea

The moon was a narrow sliver, casting just enough light to frost the wispy, fast-moving clouds with a delicate silver glow. Patches of the night sky peered through where their cover was broken, lit with more stars than Janus could ever recall seeing in his life. Yet as beautiful as it was, the sky held nothing to the wonder that stretched out before him. Dark, frigid-looking waters roiled with a fraught energy, tossed by winds that felt only a breath shy of a storm. And somehow, it seemed the sea was on fire. The peak of every wave was capped in a brilliant, pale blue light. Sparks scattered as they crashed and broke against each other, twinkling softly as they dimmed, turning the black waters in front of him into a second field of stars...

It was captivating, and magical, and so alien to his experiences that at first Janus felt sure that he was dreaming. But the wind whipping those waves was strong and cold. It tugged at the fabric of his clothes and stung his cheeks and nose where they had grown damp from the sea spray. The roughness of the wood beneath his bare feet was very real, and his wonder shifted quickly, first into confusion and then alarm-

Because Janus had no idea where he was, nor any idea how he had gotten there.

Pulling back from the sparkling waves, Janus crossed his arms against the cold sea air and tried to take stock of himself and his surroundings. He stood alone at the end of a wooden pier overlooking a modest harbor which, beyond the boats rocking fitfully where they were moored in the rough waters, appeared to be basically empty. It was night time, and it was cold, and he was dressed in nothing but his pajamas. His feet were bare and they were sore—the soles tender and his toes freezing—like he had been walking around barefoot for a while. And it may have been the sudden shock of coming to awareness the way he had, but his blood felt like it was buzzing, like he had just stepped off of a roller-coaster. His throat burned, and he felt lightheaded and shaky-

And Janus supposed if he was going to be wandering around at night barefoot and half-frozen he might as well get sick from it. But seriously, fuck his life.

He didn't have his watch, so he couldn't guess how late it was, and he didn't happen to have his phone in his pajamas pocket because when had he ever been that lucky? The harbor was silent except for the wind and the waves and the sound of the boats at their docks, illuminated where the water lapped at their hulls by the same strange blue light that had held him mesmerized. There was nothing familiar about it, which only meant that it wasn't the same harbor where the ferry had docked when he first arrived at the town of Tam's Landing. On an island the size of Inch Murrough, there would of course be more than one, but at the same time it was hardly large enough that he imagined there could be that many...

There was only so lost one could get on an island with just the single town, right?

He would hope that he was still on Inch Murrough, at the very least, because finding himself elsewhere would make this whole alarming situation a much bigger problem than it already was. The last thing Janus remembered was lying down to sleep in his bed at the boarding house. He had booked his room for the week, assuming it would take him at least that long to find what he had come all this way for. There was supposed to be a resort hotel on the western side of the island, but he had learned that it was unfortunately seasonal and wouldn't be open until the summer. Though it was just as well, truly, given his limited assets. On his voyage out, the ferry captain had offered his recommendation for the bed and breakfast on the north side if he could afford it, or Greene's Boarding House to the south and it's...colorful landlord, if he couldn't.

(As it turned out, people didn't exactly trip over themselves forgiving student loans after you'd been expelled halfway through a degree for enrollment fraud. He was more than used to seeing his choices dwindling before him by this point.)

For better or worse, Janus found himself shaken out of this dreary thread of recollection by a tap on his shoulder. Then another on the top of his head. Sure enough, as he looked out over the strangely-glowing waves, the dark water became speckled with glimmering ripples as the thickening clouds the wind had drawn in from the sea began to release their burden. Janus cursed the weather, cursed his luck, and cursed his father on top of both for good measure because why not. If he wasn't sick already, he definitely would be if he stayed standing out here like a fool.

Questioning how he even got there was something he could worry about once he got himself out of the damned rain.

By the time he escaped the waterfront and reached the shelter of an awning on an adjoining street, the rain had begun to fall in earnest. The flannel of his top was damp and heavy on his shoulders, and was rapidly wicking away what little warmth it had previously allowed him to hold onto. Poorly dressed for it as he was, in the chill of a late autumn night the rain had just shifted his situation from uncomfortable to genuinely dangerous. And whatever the hour, Janus only knew that it was late. Late enough that it was probably early. The streets were that eerie sort of empty, and the clatter of driving raindrops chased every other sound out of existence. He shivered in his sad, isolated little pocket of misery, closed off from the rest of the world by a curtain of hissing rain.

Consequently, he was so caught up in that misery that he missed the approach of someone else arriving to intrude on his pathetic little scene.

A flash of movement and color at the corner of his eye was what finally caught his attention, and Janus looked up to find himself being watched. The man looked like he sat on the early border of his thirties or thereabouts. He had brown hair and brown eyes—currently wide with surprise—that stared back at him from behind a pair of black-framed glasses. Though, perhaps the most pertinent detail—or at least the one most pertinent to Janus—was that the man was far better dressed and equipped for the weather than he was. In particular, Janus found himself looking at the man's green, frog-eyed umbrella with an almost violent amount of envy.

"Oh, gosh," the man stammered suddenly, clearly trying to shake himself from his earlier surprise. "Are you-"

"Freezing," Janus answered through clenched teeth before the other could finish.

He imagined the question was likely meant to end differently. Still, in his mind, his answer was the only truly important one in that moment. His throat pinched on the word, reminding him once again of its soreness. He chose not to elaborate further.

With a surprised blink, the man winced sheepishly.

"Of course! I-" Looking around the empty street, perhaps expecting the rain to offer some solution, he stumbled toward the awning. "How-"

He cut himself off shaking his head.

"Never mind, it doesn't-" he said, mostly to himself, as he held out his umbrella. "Here. I- I'm not sure what we can do about-" His eyes flicked down, taking in Janus's lack of shoes. "But I- I mean- We're not far from where I work. You can wait it out there—or at least get dry."

Janus might have bothered to stutter out a thank you, but he doubted there was much he could meaningfully express through chattering teeth and a tortured throat. Still, as he ducked silently under the offered umbrella he was grateful nonetheless. He was even more grateful that the man, clear questions aside, did not stick around to chitchat once he had.

"It's just down the street."

My starting list was the 700 illustrations included with first publications of each story or novel, this means the initial magazine printing in the uk and us (usually the Strand and Colliers, though other magazines get involved too especially in the later stories) plus the first novel edition if i could find it. I did Not include reprints or translations, but it might be fun for a later bracket if people want them!

I filtered out some title banners and space-fillers/formatting-focused illustrations, but getting to 512 for a functional bracket is gonna take some elimination rounds first! Since part of the motivation here is to highlight some of the lesser known artists, i split this up into 30 'Sidney Paget' rounds, and 27 'Other Artists' rounds. These will last a week, but i'll be posting one of each every day (more or less lmao)

After these ill seed the proper bracket based on the elimination votes and we can narrow it down to a winner 1v1!

I wanted to give a blanket warning for this bracket: These are drawings by white men in the 1890s-1920s, the vast majority are fine, but there is a handful that portray racist and classist imagery in line with what is present in the stories themselves. I can't consistently warn for these individually out of a list of 700 pieces, but i also dont want to pretend they arent part of this history or set myself up as an authority on which cross a line or not, so ive decided not to automatically exclude illustrations that might be offensive. Likewise, im not censoring any of the captions that are part of images, but will do my best to remove offensive terms where i'm typing them out.

This ask had me reflecting on my art style. So i pulled up some of my old and new work .

The first one is mini Bobby , i couldn't draw him at all, but i still wanted some sort of drawing so i decided to make a Gacha Bobby, I mean hey, something is better than nothing right ?

Say what you want but I'm still very fond of this little guy.

Then I made a MC × Bobby fanart. But even in that, his face was no mucho gusto and it came out very blurry and the pens lines were too thick

Then came Superman Bobby , better and more good looking than the previous crack Bobby but still very blurry.

One of the reasons was , I was using a pen style that was too thick and that really defined the outlines rather than the actual picture and when resized , it got really blurry and the app that i was using had very limited resources .

Then I switched to the app im using now - Ibis paint. It's free , has tons of features and brushes , less precise and professional than procreate but it's still very much up there. I changed my brush from a drawing pen to a pencil which has thin strokes. The result is definitely better

And I fell more in love as i drew him

I have been working on this fanart for days. Not because it's very complex or has too much details , but because my final exams have commenced, so I only draw the FACE of the islander i have in mind for the project to reward myself at the end of the day.

Today I finished drawing the faces of my second last and last islander who are going to be featured on the fanart. I FINALLY LEARNED HOW TO DO HAIR HIGHLIGHTS. i basically never shade because I dont know how and I was planning on learning that during my vacation BUT I finally tried out hair shading for Jin and Bruno. And I'm loving the result.

Tadaaaaaa!!!!!! Made my day tbh can't wait to include this in the final fanart with the other three boys ( can you take the vibe and guess who they are?)

☆ Rants & Rambles ☆

Hey guys! So I'm genuinely worrying that no one is going to like what I have planned with my story (I'm an overthinker–) so I wanted to do a few teensy, tiny polls to try and gauge a reaction!

So I already have a lot planned for this story (Twist of Fate) and I'm just worried that if people dislike it, that I'm already too far gone to rehash and rework it to fix it.

I didn't state it before since I completely forgot and wasn't aware that it was a big deal, but this story will eventually diverge from the natural canon of love and deepspace. I'm really worried that people are going to dislike that and are going to want the original lore, and not some dumb little story I come up with. I'm probably just heavily overthinking it, but it really has me worrying about it.

So;

Honestly, those options probably aren't enough, but I wanted to make sure they were worded correctly.

It's going to diverge from the canon, probably in a big way, but I felt like this was the only way I could give it a happy, and poly, ending. Because that's what I want. Sure, there will be some angst, but I just want everyone to be happy.

In the future, there will be more myth flashbacks, so I hope you're excited for those. They will stay true to the myths, so you won't have to worry there. I only change the dialogue in those when I feel like it could've been reworded to sound better.

Other than that, I've got a lot of ideas for the future and I've been struggling with the timeline, so I'll probably just wing it. It's a complicated, time-loopy timeline anyway so it's not going to matter if I change it up or swap which was the first myth in the timeline since nothing is confirmed in the first place.

The main thing that threw me for a loop is that Philos is canonically Earth, but in the future. I'm probably just a bit slow to the realization, but that really drove me nuts. But I'm trying to rework that into the story, since it is important and canon!

I wanted to include another poll, but it could just get confusing– though, I do wonder, do yall like it whenever people make their own lore for their stories or would you rather them using canon lore?

Because I have some of my own lore coming soon and, once again, I'm worried it's just going to crash and burn because it's too complicated or it's too "out there". In my eyes, it doesn't matter if it's not going to happen in the games. I just think it works, for me, and I like the idea of it. It seems fun, even if it'll never be canon. Since that's the fun in writing. You can just write whatever you want, even if it'll never happen in the original work.

But with all of that aside, I really do hope you all enjoy my writing. I look back and read other people's work and I'm like "damn, my writing is shit compared to this." I can't write fighting scenes, I'm bad at describing, I don't want to use the same word consecutively— but it can't be that bad if people are actively enjoying it, so I can't beat myself up too badly. After all, I've only just gotten back into writing and no one is ever good at something on their first attempt (unless they're like a prodigy or something).

That's all I was wondering! Sorry for my dumb little ramble, but I was just feeling a bit down and panicky. I feel a bit better after typing it all out though! Also, the banner up top is a slight sneak-peak for a future 'Twist of Fate' update! 🩷

Edit; the funniest part is I'm already thinking about the reader having children with the male leads 😭 (I want to be child free unless I have a surrogate, so I'm sorry if you all feel the same way!). Like I've already got an idea for the gender ratio from the four kids (I pray for your 🐱) and all I can say is, I love girl dads. I even have one name specifically chosen for Rafayel's and, while it's going to sound weird, I swear it works! Algie 🥺 (from his Sea God myth card). That's the only spoils I'll give for the future though! Just because I thought of that and it made me feel better about my story.

I'm just gonna write a silly, funky little story about existential crisis-ing, isekai, and love and it's going to be good whether I like it or not 😤

Edit pt 2; I changed my mind, I found an even better name than Algie + all of the children have names now! I can't believe I'm thinking this far ahead, to be honest. But I've decided that if new love interests are added, I will just make a separate story for them since this lore is complicated enough with four men, as is, and I can easily just write a separate story for the new guys– including the old ones as well!

Especially if Caleb is the one added– then I'd definitely have to write something separate for him

Update on Orange Poll Dress and Roman's Casual Look Mini project

Just a quick update for you all about how these projects have been progressing, plus a sneak peak on the next dress I want to make.

On both of these projects: I am heading back to school this week, and classes start next week, so they're on hold until I can get adjusted to the new schedule. Shouldn't take too long, but you should expect to hear about the Roman mini project before the poll dress.

Orange Poll Dress

So, this dress has had the least amount of progress since I last posted about fabric scavenging on 12/24. I haven't had the time to go and get some fresh fabrics, and the fabrics I have were really leaving me... uninspired. You'd think that a dress which I had other people pick out all the design elements for would be easy to make, but, uh... not really, unfortunately. I'm working on it!

It's on pause until I can go to a fabric store with some friends to get properly re-inspired and get a good idea going! I'm hoping to give you an update on it in the next month (so, mid February).

Roman's Causal Look Mini project

Okay, on the list of things to do for this project now includes getting a proper master post up, haha.

This outfit has a few elements that still need completion.

The jacket is done!

I started making a corset top via the 'wrap yourself in plastic and duct tape to make a pattern' method and it didn't go very well, so I'm scrapping that to try something else. The top still needs some editing.

I found a cool mesh shirt with floral patterns I'm going to use as an undershirt, though!

The skirt looks awesome and just needs to have an elastic waist put in, and then it'll be good to go.

I have the coolest boots for the outfit and I'm so pleased.

So, in short, I have minor adjustments to make on the skirt and a corset-inspired blouse to make, and then it'll be ready. I also have a tiara I've been wanting an excuse to wear so this'll be great.

My goal is to complete this cosplay by the end of February.

Upcoming project

Spring is coming! The next dress I make I am very excited for. It's going to be a sundress for Emile Picani, based on the fanfiction Love And Other Fairy Tales, mostly because I want a sundress I can wear. My goal is to make it in the month of March so it's ready for springtime in the mountains.

(No one say anything about Patton's wedding dress from LAOFT it's in a bag in the back of my closet begging me to work on it I'll get to it eventually I promise)
