Was Chuuya unaffected by Shibusawa’s fog or did he handle it offscreen or something?

Yep. Its in the stage play. Aku asks why Chuuya is unaffected and Chuuya explains that his ability is unique in that it cannot be seperated from him and if it did Yokohama would be finished.

In the movie the only time Chuuya's ability jewel thing seems to start seperating from him at all is when he is on the verge of death during corruption and yells out Dazai's name.

(Note that the jewel seems to seperate from everyone once they die or are on the verge of death even if they are unaffected by the fog itself, hence Dazai's crystal/jewel thing seperating from him once he passes out from the poisoned knife).

#also yes this is in fact a confirmation that both Dazai and Chuuya knew that Chuuya didn't need Dazai protecting him from the fog #so Dazai literally had no reason to hold him down in his lap or have his hand in his hair after #he was just being a gay bitch #also skk have experienced shibusawa before so clearly its not like they would have had any doubts about this either #soukoku
