Hi all,

This is Janice's daughter Naomi again. We've been getting a lot of questions from some curious new followers and thought we'd just compile them all here in one post. Mom tends to veer off topic when she gets going so I'm here to transcribe the important bits and leave out the rest.

Q&A

Q: Can you tell us more about your alien abduction?

A: 1997 - October 14th. Matthew Mark Luke John and I were in a brief period of separation and I was home alone with Naomi. I'd just put her to bed around 7 o'clock and walked outside to have a cigarette (Camel blues - and while we're on the subject, why don't they allow smoking indoors anymore? We used to be able to light up an honest to god Pall Mall in the middle of Catholic Mass back in the 70s) [note from Naomi: this rant went on for 13 solid minutes before I got her back on track]. Anyway, I walked out to stand on the front porch and I passed out. Next thing I know, I'm getting strapped up and suspended from the ceiling, high in the air with my belly down and gooch out. I couldn't see anything but the floor at least 10 feet beneath me. There were probably nine or ten little guys looking up at me from below like town perverts waiting for an upskirt shot. Ugly little fuckers. You could see through their skin to their organs. I'm pretty sure the one who strapped me up was the leader because he had a hat. Then suddenly the lights went dark and I screamed - and that's when I heard three other screams. Definitely human. I have no idea who they were or where they are now and it tortures me twenty four hours out the goddamned day. Then I felt a big ol' gust of pressure and I was transported to some sort of void. Black all around me. A few seconds later the Hat Guy wheeled a TV in front of me and turned it on. For the next 3 hours and 15 minutes, the screen played James Cameron's "Titanic", which I found very odd as the movie wasn't due to release on Earth until December. As soon as the credits rolled I woke up in my bed as if nothing happened. I almost thought it was a dream until I dug into my morning bowl of cottage cheese and tasted sulfur as if my entire mouth was painted with the stuff. Now anything I orally consume tastes like that. I have to get my nutrients through a DIY feeding tube I engineered in '98. Patent still pending but I hold on to hope.

Q: You don't seem too worried about your missing husband, but your daughter Naomi does. Why?

A: I don't know - you'll have to ask Naomi why she cares so goddamned much [note from Naomi: he's my dad]

Q: Your bit isn't funny

A: Is this some type of internet explorer slang?

Q: Why do you hate your 4 year old grandson so much? Do you hate kids?

A: I love children! Zachary is not a child. He is a government drone. [note from Naomi: We're working on this relationship]

Q: If you could find the other victims from the night of your abduction, what would you ask them?

A: Oh, too many questions to name! But to start I'd ask if they also watched Titanic or if they got a different film like Boogie Nights or Good Will Hunting.

Q: You say you're single and looking - what kind of partner are you looking for?

A: Anyone who can slap my ass and ride a hog, honey (MUST be willing to assist in twice-daily tadpole experiments)

mikey thinks there’s a respectful, accumulative list somewhere of the top one hundred experiences known to man. he doesn’t really know why his brain settled on one hundred (something about really long lists just adds a validity to it), or where he came up with the idea, but he’s sure of it.

and he’s also sure that tonight has to be on there.

“oh my god, that’s not even close to what happened.” he doesn’t miss the stammer in your words, the way they blend together too much. he’s sure his voice sounds the same. his chest is warm, hands stuffed into his coat pockets to stop himself from emphasizing too much with his movements.

“right and i’m six foot.” he snickers at his own joke, head upturned and anywhere but you. you.

“fuck off,” you drawl out the word, arms swinging as you slouch forward a little bit. “i’m not talkin’ to ever again, manjiro.”

“yeah, you will.” he’s trying to think, really, what was even so great about today— because something has to be near perfect to be one of the top things on the fucking planet. there had to have been something special enough about moderate-to-okay takeout and beers at the park he’s been to a thousand times to get into the ‘World Wide Top 100 Things (patent pended)’.

“yeah, i will.” but maybe it’s not tonight. there’s a chance the food was just alright (a little too greasy), and the beers were cheap, and the park was too humid, and the only really redeemable thing was the company.

he’s more comfortable with the first option, though.

despite his denial, he’s already taken the long way back to his apartment and added three extra blocks to it. he’s childish in a lot of ways and his selfishness and demand is a reoccurring theme. he’d like to tell himself that’s the reason he doesn’t want this to end, and not the fact he really just doesn’t want it to.

what was supposed to be a sixteen minute walk turned twenty four, and then thirty two, and he’d damn well push fifty if he could, but he’s wondering if your legs are tired under the strain of the alcohol, and he’s somehow found himself right near his street.

“right down here,” why does he feel so disappointed? mikey tries to distract himself. the air is brisk out tonight, wind quick and nice, and he attempts to focus on how much he loves this weather but instead he’s worried if you’re cold. the street lights have that nice orangey hue that makes everything feel like the sunrise, and now he wants to turn and see how you look under it. what the fuck.

he doesn’t really comprehend the conversation you’re having— he knows he’s responding, and he can tell with the way his eyes crinkle he’s enjoying it, and he leans closer to you for just a second every time he takes a step, and he can’t think about a word either of you are saying.

he likes being home, most of the time. he thinks it’s easier and safer and nicer, except for when it’s not. he feels sick right now looking at it, and then he finally— finally— looks at you again.

you’re unreal.

“you probably shouldn’t drive, you’re stumbling all over the place.” his throat is tight; he feels like his breath smells terrible and his hands are burning and his hair definitely can’t look good right now and he’s waiting and he really hates waiting.

“look at that, worried about my safety.” you sound happy still, that’s got to be a good sign. “i’ll, uhm, order an uber.” or not.

“well no..” the wind catches over his words and he lets his voice peter off. it’s a nice night, maybe the breeze is trying to protect him from stupidity. maybe he should just let you leave.

mikey hasn’t experienced a lot of the things on the list. a few of them have been moments in his life (the day before shinichiro died, a moment with takemichi, and when toman founded), but most of them are intangible. but this is— you are— just a few feet away from him; you’re right in his grasp, and if he doesn’t grab hold of you now he doesn’t know if he ever will.

“hey,” there’s something wonderful about the way you shift your weight forward to listen to him. “do you want to stay the night?” he’s testing the truth behind the universe, pushing at the logic behind his ability to figure out the list.

“yeah,” he’s never been happier to be right. “that sounds nice.”

least favorite thing about them: I can't really think about anything, even things that peeve me are things I appreciate because it makes sense for his character and stuff ya know

The SIX and TSA

The SIX is equipped with a TSA-compliant lock – with one slide of the lever, the bag’s aluminum channel is locked in two locations. To open the SIX, you first open the lock on the handle and then slide the main lock upwards to unlock it. To lock it, you will lock the bag first, making sure none of the contents are trapped in the aluminum channel, and then lock the main handle sections together.

Architecture: the “pillar” of the design. This includes all the detail about what the product will do, how it will function, what features it will include, and what the product will accomplish for the user.

Mechanics: after we know what we want to build and we’ve laid out the frame, we begin to execute it and decide on the materials, how things are going to perform, and how everything will work mechanically. This is where many considerations come into play, such as manufacturing and logistics capability.

Cosmetics: the cosmetic decisions complete the process and include all of the aesthetic and branding decisions that do not affect the performance of the product. This includes commercial aspects such as color (outside and inside), textures of the lining and exterior, density of the mesh, and zippers that are not structural, as well as identifying and addressing potential concerns like scratching or fading.

As the G-RO team go through each step, factors inevitably arise and affect the previous steps. For example, they might find that a certain feature they planned to include in the architecture was not mechanically possible to implement. At that point, they would revisit the previous step and find the best way to update their plans and move forward.
