Professor Layton - How Things Change Au

I posted this without context not too long ago, it’s time to explain the au itself.

In this au, when the five of them give their lives to stop the Azran Legacy, Aurora can’t just bring them back. Instead, she’s forced to choose one to bring back to a previous point in time with knowledge of the future so they can prevent the Sanctuary from rising.

Aurora chooses to send Luke back to when he was 10 years old, since that was when the first legacy was unlocked. But something goes wrong and instead of being sent back to when he was 10, Luke gets sent back to when Leon was 10.

Luke, disoriented from being revived and sent back 50 years, is found by a 10 year old Leon bronev and later taken in by his family. It’s just Leon and his mother - who’s often pretty busy with her work as an inspector - but Luke finds his place in their home.

But Luke still has his knowledge of the future, and now that he’s lost everything (his friends and family - ignoring grandparents - haven’t even been born yet), he decides he’ll do everything in his power to make sure the Professor and his family have everything Targent took from them.

The biggest change he makes on this new timeline? He gets taken in Leon and Rachel’s place, the Bronev family now free (while forced to take some precautions) and Luke stuck in Targent for around a decade before he finally escapes.
