(rant- and I do get pretty mean so probably don't read im proably gonna delete later)
the people who couldn't handle the ending of Amphibia or Aang's commitment to nonviolence would fucking die if they watched Princess Tutu or Ever After High! If Rose Quartz is too much for you then I don't know what to say! At this point I'm convinced the problem runs deeper than a lack of media literacy and I think it's a mixture of entitlement and some really intense black and white thinking being used to justify it cause for all the flaws in these shows I don't think people can miss the point so badly by accident! At this point it's willful ignorance! For all of Amphibia's and ATLA's seasonal rot and for all of steven universe's more problematic messaging y'all really have do stretch to create 'problems' to justify being assholes and to make your opinions on how the shows ended valid- newsflash you can personally disagree with certain messages and explain why you disagree with Aang's pacifism without turning him into a rapist and saying he (the guy who survived a genocide and whose whole culture is based on tibetan monks) is a white colonizer and rapist! You can say you think there is some genuinely problematic and bad messages in Steven Universe without accusing Rebecca Sugar (a Jewish bisexual nonbinary person married to a black man) of being a nazi apologist! You can say you feel like Amphibia's jokes and tone weren't your cup of tea and you don't like the plantars without shitting on fans who do like those elements for being 'childish'! while were at it your allowed to hate the ending of svtfoe without being mean to people who ship starco! But no so many of you have to be mean inorder to prove your point! You can be critical and point out a shows flaws and shortcomings without being assholes! Also you can just say 'i don't like this price of media' considering some of you don't even try and make a point and are just being assholes

1) the fourteen year old girl is rightfully upset at the fact her father and bestfriend blindsided her? Alicent did not tell her for six entire months that she was seeing Viserys. She had plenty of opurtinity to before Viserys mentioned not saying anything. Now I don’t blame Alicent she was young, however you’re expecting the fourteen year old girl, who just lost her mother six months ago, and found out her bestfriend was marrying her dad to act rationally. Also we don’t see Rhaenyra insult her, so until we do that’s all just hearsay.
2) “She lies to Alicent” no she omitted information from Alicent. Alicent asked if she slept with Daemon “You fucked Daemon in a pleasure house.” . Rhaenyra did not sleep with Daemon. That’s the truth of the matter. And how was Rhaenyra supposed to know that Daemon killed his wife? Was she there? Did he tell her? Because the only scene that mentions her dying is when Viserys is alone with Corlys, and when Daemon is confronted by House Royce. Rhaenyra is not present for either one of those interactions.
3) Criston was a man the same age as Daemon who slept with a girl he has known since she was fourteen. He did not care about his oath when he slept with Rhaenyra. He did not care about his oath when he asked her to runaway and be poor and sell oranges. He was mad he was rejected and then bring up his oath. He was willing to leave it all behind if Rhaenyra had just said yes. Rhaenyra also doesn’t even get him sent away. She could have told Viserys that he slept with her after he murdered someone at the wedding but she kept her mouth shut. She could have had him killed but she didn’t.
4) Everything with Harwin is hearsay in Westeros. What proof do they have that her children are bastards? They have brown hair? Rhaenyra is half Arryn, Laenor is half Baratheon, so genetically speaking it is plausible to have brown haired kids. (I hate that they changed Rhaenys hair color. Dark haired Targaryens exist.) But what did you want Rhaenyra to do in this situation? She needed heirs and her husbands gay. She said herself they tried and there was no joy in the act. Did you want her to force herself on him?
5) She leaves for Dragonstone because of Alicent. Ten years that woman tormented her. The Joffrey scene is a prime example of that. “I thought we were past this?” -Laenor. Also Dragonstone is literally the heirs seat. That’s where the heir is supposed to go. Hence the title the prince/princess of Dragonstone.
6) “Then when she finds out that her stepmother has crowned her half-brother after 24 hours which just shows how disconnected she is from kings landing, has a dramatic mental breakdown.”
Do you mean a miscarriage?????? Because that’s what that was. She just found out her father is dead and didn’t even get to properly bury him do to the greens hiding his death and her crown usurped.
7) “Rhaenyra is a spoiled brat and daddy’s girl.” Viserys only payed attention to her after Aemma died. Also she’s literally a princess. Her and her siblings are all spoiled. However, if I had to think who was more spoiled it would be Aegon.
He r*pes servants/Helaena and gets away with it. Alicent literally had a system of getting them moon tea and money. That’s how often he SA the woman working in the castle.
He goes whoring and has countless of bastards that he watches in a fighting rink.
And even after all the shitty things he has done he still gets crowned even though he didn’t want it. Because he has a cock and balls.
Summary: all you guys see is a sad white boy with mommy and daddy issues. Newsflash he’s a rapist drunk.
Tumblr media
Nothing but respect for my rightful heir đŸ«Ą
Anti-Rhaenyra
So, this is just what I would like to say to Rhaenyra supporters.
Rhaenyra isn't told by her father that he is secretly seeing her best friend and plans to marry her. When Rhaenyra found out that her father was going to marry her best friend Alicent, she insults her. She lies to her best friend about something she knows Alicent cares about. She sleeps with her uncle Daemon, who has by the way just killed her wife. She sleeps with Cristin Cole, a kingsgaurd who by the way has sworn:
I swear to ward the Queen with all my strength and give my blood for hers. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children.
This makes him feel like a sinner and he attempts suicide (I won't justify his actions since he should of course be held accountable for his actions as well). Then proceeds to sleep with Harwin strong and have kids with him. And expects to have them crowned after her death? She goes off to Dragonstone while her father is sick instead of taking care of him. Leaves Kings landing to her stepmother and half-siblings. Knowing very well that her oldest half-sibling Aegon ii is a boy with a legitimate heir and men are seen better fit for ruling. Because she wants everyone else to take care of her problems and then just enter kings landing and be crowned queen. Then when she finds out that her stepmother has crowned her half-brother after 24 hours which just shows how disconnected she is from kings landing, has a dramatic mental breakdown. 🙄
Summary: Rhaenyra is a spoiled brat and a daddy's girl and can't handle her problems.

LO Fans: "I love Lore Olympus because it deals with serious themes, like sexual assault, abuse, gaslighting, trauma, and mental health issues!"
Me, who spent my life discovering and obsessing over masterpieces like this:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"You're gonna have to try a lot harder than that to impress me."
Yeah, I never understood that kind of praise. For one thing, people act like LO is groundbreaking for that reason, despite there being countless movies, books, tv shows, comics, and video games that also deal with the same themes. That isn't to say there can't be more stories like this, however. I, for one, am begging for another video game that comes close to the emotional resonance of Silent Hill 2, or for a faithful adaptation of Dracula and/or Phantom of the Opera, or for a horror movie as unsettling as The Howling! But to say any new story that deals with these themes is unique for doing so, is just simply not true. Lore Olympus is no more unique than any of these stories. Also, I don't understand the praise that Lore Olympus is great just by virtue of having these themes in the first place. Just because a story has serious themes, doesn't automatically make it good. Far too often does LO use its themes as a crutch for a plot that is standard issue among romances, as opposed to stories like The Howling, which has a very intriguing, outlandish plot that serves as a catalyst to explore themes of very real and relatable horror. Lore Olympus, without its intense themes, is just another story about the CEO falling in love with his intern. And don't get me wrong, I LOVE those kinds of stories, but Lore Olympus just doesn't really do it for me. And the poorly executed themes just hamper it even further for me.
If it wasn't already apparent, has anyone noticed a pattern between these titles? All but one are horror stories. In my opinion, that is one of the key differences between them and LO: Horror! The themes within, are ones that illicit terror, and the stories reflect that (even Phantom of the Opera--don't listen to anyone who says it's a romance). Starting with Dracula, one of the scenes that horrified me the most in the book was the one where Count Dracula sneaks into Mina's bedroom. The book describes him slitting open his own vein and forcing her to drink his blood. Mina then expresses feelings of violation, much akin to what rape survivors feel. It doesn't pull any punches in its shocking, horrific portrayal, but it never comes off as exploitative. That's because the best horror stories rely on the audience's empathy. In this case, nobody wants to feel violated, so we feel as horrified as the characters do when we read about this grotesque event. And because it is about illiciting fear through empathy, Dracula succeeds where Lore Olympus fails. Lore Olympus, before all else, is a romance. And rape should not be in a romantic story. Especially not when the narrative of LO uses this trauma to validate the relationship between the two leads. I'm not a fan of stories that use trauma to validate a relationship between romantic interests, and I think that partly stems from reading the Phantom of the Opera.
If you ask me, Phantom of the Opera is one if the best books to discuss abuse and gaslighting ever written! Despite misconceptions generated by the popularity of the musical, PotO is very much a horror story with hardly any romance at all. And it's one of the best examples about why using trauma to validate a romance is a very bad idea! You see, all the conflict of the story begins with The Phantom and his trauma. He was born with multiple physical deformities that cause him to look like a living corpse. Because of this, he is despised and rejected by the world in order to escape the hatred of the world, he commissions the construction of the Paris Opera House, complete with intricate catacombs where he can live out the rest of his miserable days. Then one day, a woman named Christine comes to work at the Opera as a chorus girl. She is sad and alone due to her being orphaned, without a friend in the world. She too is emotionally damaged and the Phantom thinks this means she'll understand him. The trouble begins instantly when he claims to be a character from a folktale that Christine's father used to tell her. This is when the manipulation and gaslighting begins. Part of what makes this so effective is how we see it from an outside perspective. The protagonist, Raoul, is in love with Christine and we get to see his confusion and growing concern when he starts realizing Christine is showing signs of an abusive relationship. What makes the relationship even worse is the fact that Christine actually does understand The Phantom. So she doesn't run away not only out of fear, but also compassion. She knows what it's like to feel isolated and dead to the world and The Phantom uses that against her. The more I describe this, the more parallels I begin to see to Hades' and Minthe's relationship. Yes, Minthe abused Hades in much of the same way as The Phantom abused Christine. Notice how Minthe keeps convincing Hades that they're the only people who understand each other, even going so far as to say, "We're the same." The funny thing is, that's exactly what the narrative uses to validate Hades' and Persephone's relationship! It tries to establish that Hades and Persephone relate to each other and they say, several times, "We're the same," to each other. But this is exactly how Hades got stuck in a toxic relationship with Minthe, so why is it suddenly okay now? Relationships that use shared trauma to validate themselves are almost always doomed to become toxic, in one way or another.
So what about the healthy relationship in Phantom of the Opera? Well, it's kinda interesting actually. You see, Christine eventually comes to realize that she needs help, so she turns to the protagonist, Raoul, to get her away from the Phantom. Raoul has an interesting character arc because he starts the novel being pretty immature and kinda selfish. He doesn't really take Christine's feelings into consideration. It's more like a boy chasing his childhood crush (actually that's exactly what happens). However, over the course of the story, as he becomes increasingly concerned with her well-being, he learns to care more about her feelings and her needs. This culminates in the climax, when he's willing to crawl through hell itself for her sake. I bring all this up because I wanted to compare Raoul with Hades as well. Hades is a very consistent character. He doesn't need an arc like Raoul because, from the very beginning, he's willing to put all of Persephone's needs before his, to a fault! That is his entire purpose within the narrative of LO. He exists to serve Persephone. Raoul didn't exist to serve Christine. He had his own journey of growing and maturing. And Christine didn't exist to serve Raoul either. It bothers me that a novel from 1910 has a more well-rounded relationship than a modern comic! Actually, now that I think about it, isn't Persephone's entire character arc supposed to be her learning that she shouldn't exist to serve others? Well, that totally contradicts Hades' role in the story, doesn't it? He exists to serve her! I guess, in the eyes of LO, it's only okay if men serve women, but not for women to serve men. Newsflash: neither is okay.
Now Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1931) remains, to this day, one of the most terrifying movies I've ever seen! That's all thanks to its brutal depictions of domestic abuse. So Dr. Henry Jekyll believes the solution to enlightening the human race is to separate the good and evil in our souls. He solves this problem by creating a drug to do just that, which transforms him into Edward Hyde, but he becomes addicted and starts terrorizing a woman who was once a former patient of his. I think what makes this so effective, when compared to LO, is one simple factor: Fear. I am terrified of Edward Hyde, but whenever Apollo shows up, I'm just annoyed. That's because Hyde isn't being used to sell an agenda, while Apoll is. Apollo is all about making a statement about toxic masculinity, which always bothered me from the very beginning! Being an abusive cunt who rapes women has nothing to do with masculinity! It doesn't matter if you're masculine or feminine, anyone can be a cunting abusive rapist. If you are a rapist, it's because you're a monster who lacks empathy, not because of masculinity. And if you think masculinity has something to do with a lack of empathy, fuck off! Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is not about toxic masculinity. It's about how drug addiction can often hurt other people around us just as much, if not moreso, than ourselves. It also doesn't use rape to validate a relationship between characters. I'm sorry, but that is just the laziest storytelling technique. When the antagonist is a rapist OF COURSE the male love interest is going to look better by comparison! But when you take Apollo out of the equation, Hades stops looking like a desirable love interest real fucking quick.
So yeah, I think Hades makes for a bad love interest. That's mostly because he's so much like Shinji Ikari from Neon Genesis Evangelion. Yeah, the one title from the list above that's not a horror, but is no less relevant. The thing is, both Hades and Shinji have a lot in common, such as hating themselves, having a bad relationship with their father, and not caring at all about their own wants and needs. Oh, also Asuka's a better written character than Minthe, but that's a whole other topic. What makes Evangelion work, in my opinion, is that Shinji's whole journey is about learning to love himself, while Hades is portrayed as being perfect the way he is. Hades in LO is like a flawless beacon of virtue, solely because he worships the ground Persephone walks on. But the guy just doesn't care about himself at all! Like I said earlier, Hades guilty of the same self-destructive behaviors as Persephone but he's praised for it, while Persephone is encouraged to look after herself more often. Compare this to Shinji, whose life only gets worse the more he neglects himself. The only time Hades does something beneficial for himself is when he breaks up with Minthe, but immediately after that, he starts devoting every ounce of energy to Persephone! All that matters is her! He doesn't give a single fuck about himself. Sorry, but that's not good qualities in a male love interest. In all fairness, this is a problem with the romance genre as a whole. Most romances give priority to the protagonist (in this case Persephone) while neglecting the love interest (Hades). It's why I have a serious problem with the entire genre.
Now what could Silent Hill 2 have that is in any way relevant to Lore Olympus? Two words: Nightmare Fuel. Personifying trauma as literal demons is one of the smartest ideas anyone's ever had, because speaking from personal experience, that's how it feels. I just don't feel like the trauma experienced by the characters in LO is a waking nightmare like it is in real life. For one, the characters' trauma only pops up when it's convenient for the plot. Like whenever Persephone starts experiencing ptsd, it happens when she's with Hades so we can get a scene with Hades cuddling her. After that, it shows up in a scene to make her look badass by confronting Apollo. No, just no. The Howling did it better too, by making the protagonist's trauma such an inconvenience in her life! I never felt that way in LO. When you uss traumatic encounters to make your character look like a badass, kindly fuck off.

Fucking gatekeeping, Jackassrys shippers. The traitors to the J0n$a fandom. Stay the fuck in your lane.
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD. WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS?
"rape deception" ? "RAPE DECEPTION"? WHAT IN THE FUCKING HELL IS THAT?? I don't want to hop on other's posts nor hijack so I decided to make my own. (Also I don't want it to show up in the tags)
Rape is a very bad thing to accuse someone of, whether in real life or fiction. TV shows and movies are often dragged for portraying rape scenes and now I hear that here in the fandom some are freely accusing a well loved character of the most vile crime, one whose honour is undoubtedly the most important aspect of his being? Just because you arseholes can't accept the undercover-J0n-playing-D@ny meta/tinfoil/speculation that's going around and you feel that it's your fucking entitlement to shit on it? Why? Because you wrote the fucking books? Because you and GRRM are tight buddies and he told you all the plotlines and endgames? Or because you're just fucking sore that Jackassrys is a doomed ship and your precious Dimwit Tallyhoe is a shit ruler and crappy game player? Or you feel you are entitled to say whatever shit that comes out of your heads because you've been in the fandom longer than everyone else? Newsflash dumb dumbs, nobody fucking cares about your hierarchy and gate-keeping in the fandom. And if you don't have anything better to offer or counter offer, spec/tinfoil/meta or otherwise, don't even say anything. Shut yer gap.
You fuckwits better stop using words you do not fucking understand. Do you actually know what 'rape' means? I can't believe I'm doing this but the Salt Goddess in me compels me so -
Textbook definition:
(now) The taking of something by force; seizure, plunder. [from early 14th c.] ▌ (now) The abduction of a woman, especially for sexual purposes. [from 15th c.] ▌ The act of forcing sexual intercourse upon another person without their consent or against their will; originally coitus forced by a man on a woman, but now any sex act forced by any person upon another person. [from 15th c.] ▌ (obsolete) That which is snatched away. ▌ (obsolete) Movement, as in snatching; haste; hurry.
*by force; without consent; against their will; snatched away
Which one of those words did you dumbfucks did not understand? I hate saying this but somehow or rather I feel I should - because you shitheads have fucking triggered me and made me and everyone else in the fam uncomfortable, so I think you should feel the same bitterness - as someone who has had first hand experience with rape, sexual assault, forced against my will to do something I did not want by someone I trusted - you shitposters are all idiots for using that word to describe at best, what could be a possible case scenario that instigated the boresex acted upon by two grown ass characters (on the show at least) who were NOT IN ANYWAY forced, coerced against their will.
Boresex wasn't rape. Dimwit Tallyhoe gave her word to fight alongside J0nny and J0nny, the handsome idiot that he is, willingly pledged his fealty to her. I'm sure the sex was just them trying to solidify that partnership whatever the fuck that was written. It was not stated if there was somehow a scene where they both forced each other to have sex with one another (??) to get something that they want. Which would be kinda stupid since they both already assumed they already have it and this one final thing they're doing are just them trying to further reinforce what they want/have from the other party - or whatever the amazing unercover J0n metas say.
I may have zero belief in the undercover plot and I may be anti J0n right now and anti d@ny but I do not feel the need to shit on those posts and stir up drama. And accuse those metas by calling such vile names. I don't agree with the metas as amazing as they are ONLY BECAUSE D&D AREN'T CLEVER WRITERS AND THEY HAVE VERY LITTLE MATERIAL TO WORK WITH since the books are not done written yet. So my dislike stems from the very bad writing and character assassination and I have zero faith in that GoT will turn out good in the end. But I can only hope that's temporary. Because my dumb ass still love J0n$@ too much to let go.
So back to the point. Rape can be very loosely defined or widely interpreted based on the context but the words 'forced', 'coerced' and 'against one's will' should always be key in trying to put that R label on someone or something.
J0n's not a rapist *hurts my anti J0n ass to even type this sentence* when he laid it thick on D@ny in her cabin that night. He did what just any modern average fuckboy would do. He wanted something from D@ny and he got it because she gave it to him. Plain and simple. And tbh the juxtaposition of scenes showing his actual parents marrying and hearing what Dumb & Dumber, the actual actors themselves are saying about Jackassrys in the BTS commentary should give you a very clear idea where this ship is headed. Yep that's right, you idiots. Down to the depths of hell where it'll burn to ashes. True Targ style.
So stop the shitposting and hurting the tags. And keep your doomed dank ship far away from the J0n$@ tags. We don't need that stank shit up in here. Respect that name bitches.

Why it’s okay to be scared and still resist.
With everything Trump has been doing, is it normal to be scared of it?
Of course it is!! It's human nature!! After all, we have a man that possibly committed treason with Russia, and even if there's no evidence to it as people claim, he sure as shit acts like he's guilty given his constant denial of it, the various executive orders he signs to distract from it, his tweeting that is also an attempt to distract from it, and the fact that he fired 3 people investigating him.
The guy is a thinskinned menace to society who is a tortoise on a fence post. We don't know how he got up there, he doesn't belong there, and someone should fucking get him down from there.
You also go "Oh, but Hillary mishandled classified emails", well, Mike Pence, the current VP, did the exact same damn thing, with the only difference being that his actual email account was hacked, rather than a fucking private server. Regardless of whatever, it still isn't a National Tragedy like you make it out to be.
You elected a fascist because of emails. That sentence alone should make you realize the Hell you put your country through, but it isn't, because you're as thickheaded as Jabba the Hut is fat and grotesque.
You clearly don't know how to judge a man by his actions without being told to, because, otherwise, you'd look at everything Trump has done, tweeted about, etc., and you'd go, "Ya know, maybe that Trump guy isn't so smart and caring" THE GUY SAID HE WANTED TO FUCK HIS DAUGHTER ON THE FUCKING HOWARD STREN SHOW!!
Hell, despite all of that, none of it, and I mean NONE of it, pales in comparison to you people selling out and going along with ALL of that, going against true Conservative values, because it meant a win for your political party. Oh, you know how Kasich and McCain are speaking out against Trump? You know why, to you, it sounds like a Liberal agenda? Because they're being goddamn patriots, which is more than I can say about you shitheads.
Despite everything, you guys ended up okay with it, because it didn't conflict with your little bubble of your political ideologies and beliefs, and that is the worst crime one could commit. Selling yourself out so you can try to be on the winning side of history. Except you're not. If you've been paying attention to reality, you'd see the Trump Train has been derailing into a train wreck months ago.
And you'll probably go, "Oh well if he ran as Liberal you'd blindly support him" well first off, you're admitting that I'm right with that, and second, newsflash, people, I'd sooner chop off my own leg, break the bones in it so it's basically a noodle, and then attempt to skip rope with it in the middle of a 5 star motel than ever vote for him, regardless of political affiliation.
That's the issue with this. The moment Trump was nominated as the Republican nominee, it stopped being about political sides and bacame about being a patriot and a person that actually gives a damn about his people. Not to mention, you bitch when celebrities get involved in this, but did you know? You voted for a braindead reality TV star!!
So, yeah, I am scared. And you know what? You should be, too, for letting your political beliefs, ideologies, and worldview cloud your judgement to the point that you thought a guy openly admitting to sexually assaulting women ON TAPE MIGHT I ADD, who thinks building a wall will magically fix this country's problems when immigrants are the backbone of our society(btw, how'd that work out for China?), called Mexicans druggies and rapists, defended a sexual predator during SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH, and outright said he could kill a man and still get votes due to your stupidity, is SOMEHOW A BETTER DEAL than a woman who accidentally mishandled emails.
I may be scared of what's to come, but goddamn it I'm gonna fight and resist all I can to make sure people will know this country isn't a safe haven for white supremacists and nationalist dummies. I know this probably won't convince you much, but I implore you to not dismiss differing views as fake news, and not support hate speech because freedom of speech and political alignment. Because this is how dictatorships start, and this is how true freedom dies in a fire.
Oh, and firing the FBI director while he's investigating a possible crime you committed is obstruction of justice, an impeachable offense, and is literally admitting you're as guilty of a crime as M. Night Shyamalan is of fucking up The Last Airbender movie!!
