promare was both briefly a big thing years ago and also is just one of those movies where u can very clearly see why its not for everyone (like, issues and legitimate crit aside, just the general whole thing its got going on) so its not rly like, surprising that there were ppl who it just didnt do much for personally like well i dont get the hype for this. like man not rly my problem the ppl who enjoyed it r having fun u can go watch something else its not that big a deal. but like thru it being such a Thing and galo and lio being so like automatically well liked by ppl it brought out ppl who wanted to be the alternative opinion lol

How do you think galo feels about burning rescue and remi? Do you think he gets along with them?

oh this is a good question i think like ultimately it could b hard 2 say and how i get 2 my response is either following implication or just taking point a 2 point b w my understanding of galos character.. i think id say he gets along with them as in, galo and his coworkers have enough of an understanding to work functionally as a group by the time the movie happens, and he will hang out w them after work occassionally like when they went 2 the pizza place, but how good of friends they r if theyre friends at all... its hard to say. its like. other chars treat galo a certain way bc he is autistic and i think he is more aware of this than is generally made out 2 be by fans (i dont think hes as oblivious as fans think he is anyway). he DOES react 2 things they say (he is more obviously hurt by things they say in the ova and then doesnt react as much in the movie but i dont think thats bc he thinks its ok, i think he just got used 2 it unfortunately). he is aware he doesnt rly click with any of them even tho he genuinely tried in the ova and was shut down bc his teammates just do not communicate the same way galo does and make no effort 2 learn. and i dont feel like thats something that will necessarily change- i dont think theyre going to suddenly realize that how they treat him is kind of shitty and make an effort to stop, unless an outside person or force brings it up w them (cuz i doubt galo will). so i think galo is always going to have a level of detachment from them bc they did shit that WAS hurtful and theyre not going 2 apologize and even if they did its hard 2 rly trust ppl after that or assume theyre not just silently thinking ur an idiot or whatever.

i think its most likely that galo esp during the beginning of the movie b4 his relationship w lio progresses is he just feels kind of lonely and disappointed w his coworkers, not rly interested in trying 2 form relationships w them now again unless THEY extend that olive branch first. he was polite 2 aina at the lake even tho she was kind of rude (they were Trying to communicate gbfhbg), i dont think hes AGAINST spending time w them i think he just decided it probably wasnt gonna work out w only him trying and he’d better focus his energy elsewhere. however. i would say that judging by galo reacting more 2 what remi says than other chars (since remi is a lot more obvious w looking down on galo 4 being autistic, the dudes literally canonically ableist) galo probably gets along w remi the Least. generally my interpretation is that he dislikes like remi but i dont have a whole lot of canon backing besides ‘if someone said that to me i would be mad as hell at them’ and i think neither remi nor galo is interested in being friendly after that one. sometimes i see ppl write lio and remi as being friends and im like.. u think lio is friends w someone who treated his husband like That??

but like. galo has lio now and i think theres potential for him 2 get along w lios friends as well more than burning rescue so hes not gonna be friendless or anything and also i think there is potential for galo 2 b able 2 get along w aina, he seems 2 get along w lucia best and maybe varys, but just from what we have in canon. i dont theyre friends Right Now (except potentially galo and lucia?? im really not sure abt that they DO get along better than the others and spend more time 2gether working on mech stuff and powerpoints apparently, id say theyre probably friends?). galo and burning rescue COULD be friends. but i dont think theyre besties during movie events, as is a common interpretation (which i dont dislike or anything bc i get it, i want galo and burning rescue 2 b friends too) i think its like a difference in whether u view things from burning rescues pov or galos bc burning rescue probably thinks theyre treating him well :|

so. tldr. galo works well w burning rescue as a team but they really do feel more like coworkers that might b friends w each other but you r not included than a group of best bros. galos the newest, youngest, and also is autistic and all that influences his relationship w them. and theres a lot of reasons galo was willing 2 risk everything 4 lio and the connection and understanding they had w each other, and galos a good compassionate person who would help ppl in need regardless but him feeling sort of on the outs and lonely and not connected 2 anyone until lio is kind of a piece of the story imo

A ship I have with said character: i dont rly get into anything that isnt galolio w promare and theres just not a lot of characters to pair up w each other like ppl like doing lmao itd be more likely she’d get w a completely new character that doesnt exist in the movie, but thymaina is cute, ive liked seeing it. also i wouldnt say i ‘ship’ it but i think past we kinda fucked around a little and now its awkward galoaina has the potential to be rly funny, trigger is just dumb and fandoms r frightened by the concept of bisexuals being real esp when the guys in a relationship w another guy now in canon. if aina was even rly interested in him i read it as mostly just like not rly knowing any other trans bi men and galo didnt rly know many other lgbt ppl in general so they briefly hooked up or whatever. like dating ur 1 other lgbt friend in high school, and it not going great bcuz u didnt rly have anything in common in the first place. the interconnected web of complex relationships between 20 smth yr old lgbts. fully aware this isnt what trigger intended i just think it could happen and be more entertaining. anyway i think theyd be terrible romantically. aina deserves a partner but she’d fucking hate being with galo they have like no interests in common what would they even talk about

A BROTP I have with said character: i dont necessarily think shes suuuper close to anyone in burning rescue in particular bcuz her locker pics have her hanging out w her friends outside of work and i think thats fun, but i think her and lucia could b funny, i think her and galo can also b rly funny (if not ever like ‘bros’ or besties necessarily, tho i do think aus where ppl write them as besties r fun)  they have very like conflicting autisms that i think makes their dynamic fun and ppl just dont rly do anything w them which is sad. i think she gets along pretty well w ignis but just in like a boss way. i think she could get along w lio too tho as she has conflicting autisms w galo i think its likely she’d have some w lio too at first and need to figure out how to work thru them

A NOTP I have with said character: i dunno usual ‘anything weird’.u rly dont see a lot of aina stuff unfortunately but the good part abt that is that shes saved from a lot of ppl just like shipping her w remi or something lmfao

A random headcanon: rly good at beating rigged carnival games, also shes rly into motorcycles like lio so they talk abt them together. i think also one of her special interests r planes/helicopters she loves that shit

General Opinion over said character: i rly like her ive talked b4 abt how trigger rly didnt take advantage of like paralleling her w galo in multiple dif ways and i also think writing her as just autistic in a very different way from galo is a lot more interesting and fun than just making her another allistic the way she was likely written. i also think it would make her being wlw rly cool too paralleling w galo cuz theres all that about neither galo or aina wanting to rly have much to do w each other but they can feel the weight of what ppl expect from them and the narrative briefly pressuring them to follow this Expectation (narratively like the romantic trope w each other) that neither of them want but Knows is there, bcuz we as the audience Know its there and promare is definitely NOT a world without heternormativity and homophobia. and at that moment during the lake scene they represent to each other like.. another massive thing that theyre not ok with about their world and society but have Tolerated up to this point. like galo and aina both feeling like the other person represents to them this thing theyre honestly scared of and they dont want and they know they r expected to want (narratively its: main guy, main girl, the narrative says you Get Together, regardless of ur feelings or if theres a much more thematically fitting option for u in the case of galo and who he DOES end up with [so it gets turned on its head immediately in promare, by playing on following story beats the audience expects and then is surprised to see not happen]) and in galos case his feelings abt aina r feeling pressured to remain closeted and hide his attraction to men, and running away from her is like running away from that pressure and what hes expected to do As A Man, and i think w galo and aina being paralleled a LOT thru this scene and finally kind of understanding each other and aina looking like shes just Expecting galo to kiss her regardless of her own feelings abt it she Knows the way the trope plays out and shes just accepted it, and then it doesnt happen, and i think she rly isnt disappointed abt that, and the way this like kindof mirrors aina taking a little longer to fight back w galo and lio, but i wont start abt this shit again i could talk abt that so much. 

anyway we get a lot of implication abt the way she feels abt herself during promare where she rly doesnt have a high opinion of herself and she’s going to have a LOT of emotional baggage shit to deal with like galo does but its not smth thats rly explored much (tho to be fair galos shit is rly not explored much either so, they r once again shaking hands)
