okay okay so back when my partner and i were first watching one piece, we often joked that one piece was one really long D&D session with a lot of homebrew and we had fun guessing what each characters class was, and updating as the story went on

which is to say i have put a lot of time and energy into headcanons as to what D&D class each member of the straw hats would be

#maybe I’ll make an actual post about it #iirc we decided that devil fruits were feats that did different things depending on the fruit #it would give you homebrew spells that you could use or it would just change how your attacks/damage works #like luffys attacks were usually just monk/barbarian attacks but because of the gum gum it changed him into an aoe dmg dealer and #it wasn’t until gear second and third that he got actual spells that did stuff #robins basically gave her a significantly improved mage hand that could deal actual damage or it changed spells that she had available into #ones that used her body parts #also most of the crew post ts multi classed with the exception of sanji brook and franky #… like i said #i have a lot of thoughts about D&D and one piece #ange rambles
