His world part 8
alpha dragon Bakugou x omega reader
note: I listened to ‘Like Real People Do’ by hozier on repeat. It gave this chapter the kind of mellow magic I wanted. So I suggest you read this chapter with the song.
You and Bakugou had agreed to marry on the last day of harvest. As you had to learn the cultures and process of the dragons. As he had to learn human’s.
So over the summer you spent time learning how to dance, make jewelry, and fight. You were supposed to make a handmade piece to give on the day of the wedding. It was a sign of devotion and care. Sero helped teach you transformation magic so that Bakugou could wear the piece at all times. Mina helped teach you how to dance. Specifically a dance to simulate flight.
“Normally,” she started as you practiced the steps. You had paused to look at her but she gestured you to continue as she did. “If you both were dragons you would be doing this in dragon form in the air. But since that there has been many Human and dragon pairings we had to compromise. Towards the end he will pick you up and fly.” You looked at her panicked. She gave a toothy smile then corrected your dance.
Kirishima taught you how to fight. He was the only one able to since he could handle Bakugou’s fiery wrath if you came out slightly injured.
“Bakugou asked me too! he chirped when you asked what part of the tradition it was. So you rolled your eyes and figured it was Bakugou being protective.
Denki had departed from the group saying,
“I am going to gather Bakugou’s parents and our mates! Along with a few friends!” He had left 2 months before harvest. Kirishima and Mina were the only ones that were still in the courting process and simply asked Denki to give their mates scented belongings and letters. They both preferred to wait and surprise their own human mates with the marriage process when the time was right.
Bakugou’s parents arrived first. You were in the middle of making the piece when they arrived. You had jolted so harshly when you heard the dragon roar in greeting that you almost dropped the almost finished necklace.
The parents were surprisingly polar opposites and Bakugou was more harsh with his mother than when he ever talked to you. But your surprise and shock turned to humor when it looked like it was reciprocal between the two.
The green dragon that Bakugou often called ‘Deku’ arrived with his mate the prince. He was much larger than Bakugou in his dragon form and he terrified you until he shifted. Deku, or Midoriya, explained what had happened with you in private. He apparently inherited both power and hord from the great dragon All Might before he died. All with the promise to protect all of the world. He and his mate, Shoto, begged me to convince Bakugou to join the fight against the king.
Bakugou didn’t need much convincing since he listened to the entire conversation. He stormed in and agreed, saying.
“He threatened my mate. I get to kill him.” Midoriya and Shoto’s faces drained of blood when he said that. His dragon was obviously showing with his glowing eyes and steam coming from his nose and palms.
Shoto later explained while you both walked and foraged for food, that threatening a dragon’s mate was a great offence and often ended in death. After a moment of silence between the two of you he explained that he and Midoriya were married and had already gone through the necessary hoops to make Midoriya mortal.
When you asked how, Shoto simply gave you a sly smile and said you would have to wait. He also explained on the wedding night a dragon will take his mate to his horde before consummating. You had been blushing furiously when he said that. He also showed off his mating mark with pride. His mark looked like a dragon encircling both of his shoulders. His ring was gold with small emeralds embedded into it with the same dragon runes. Marking was on human side to be public like kissing after you may kiss the bride/groom.
Harvest season came so quickly it made your head spin. Denki and his mate Shinsou helped you make a half suit half dress for the wedding along side harvesting.
The day of the wedding came quickly. All day Mina, Denki and Kirishima helped you get ready while the others got the meadow ready. The top part of the outfit was made for a suit and the bottom a fluffy dress. They spent all day fixing the dress and your hair.
Shoto was the one you asked to walk you down the aisle in place of your father. Midoriya was the one to head the wedding.
Your head was adorned with a gold and ruby crown along with a sunflower crown. Your bouquet was red dahlias and black-eyed susans. And as you walked down the aisle you felt the soft crunch of autumn leaves under you bare feet. You looked down as you tried not to look at Bakugou and sprint to him. At the altar you looked up and saw him in a suit with his cape. A crown of sunflowers rested on his head too.
His lips were slightly parted as he stared and took your hands.
“Hi ‘Suki” you whispered.
“Hey Angel” was his hushed reply.
Neither of your registered Midoriya’s words until the vows. He slipped the silver ring onto you finger. You brought up the carefully made necklace with your birthstone and a ruby as the centerpiece.
“You may now kiss” Said Midoriya. And you did. It was the first of many kisses, but it felt like the world was falling apart and being completed all at once. The marks of course were painful but ebbed off into a dull ache.
Everyone ate and danced in the afterparty. You and Bakugou simply swayed to and fro with your foreheads pressed together. You both stayed like that after eating and cake. You both were in a content bubble, not wanting to leave.
Even the last dance seemed to happen in slow motion, and as Bakugou lifted you up towards the sky, the stars seemed to sing and dance in joy at your union.

How Horikoshi treats his female characters (Feat. How his ‘Fans’ treat him): A Rant
Something that has recently been popping up a lot in the BNHA tags, for me at least, is this idea that Hori is a “Lazy/Bad Writer”. It’s a topic that’s genuinely interesting to me and I would love to discuss it! After the reaction i got to my last post on discussing the fandom, i feel like this is a really fun topic for me to look into and i love having an open discussion with people. So just to let you know before we start, everything here is my opinion - feel free to respond with your own thoughts and i’d happily have a conversation with you about anything and everything! If you disagree with me then that's fine, if you agree with me then that's fine too! I'm just a person with a keyboard and an opinion and so are you! :)
So today i would love to discuss how people treat Hori in regards to his female characters and i hope you enjoy this 1500 word essay/ramble i did. (PS if you came from my last lil essay then this one is a lot less sarcastic because its a more serious topic and i don’t want to come across as too rude also i actually got sleep today)
Now, this was actually the first topic I came across when looking into the Hori tags. At first, I was on board with the general theme of what was happening. I saw some lovely artwork of Momo where people had redesigned her costume, they were very creative in how they did it and overall, I had no complaints – if the whole topic of this tag was about how people wanted to be creative and redraw characters in their own design then I’d 100% support it, but the more you look into it, the more…. Nasty is gets.
So, the overall theme of what I gathered from this little tag is that idea that Hori is some sort of [Word I really don’t want to type out but im sure you can guess what it is] because of how he draws his females, most of which are underage. So if you, as a consumer, are, well, consuming something, such as a TV show, film, anime, Manga etc. and you see something that makes you go “This is disgusting – I need to write a Tumblr post about this to warn other people about what's happening here” then I fully support you – please keep on doing what you’re doing.
However, this isn’t what I see, what I see are posts going “F*CK HORI HE’S A [Nasty word] AND I HOPE HE D*ES – HERE EVERYONE I MADE AN ANTI FLAG, SHARE IT EVERYWHERE AND LET ME KNOW WHERE I CAN SEND MY D*ATH THR*AT TO” Meanwhile, when you go on this same persons page it’s all reposts of the characters and screenshots of the show, posts of them saying “Yo did you guys see the new BNHA episode last night?!?” and overall just very fandom-y stuff. I truly cannot comprehend this type of behaviour – you are so set in this belief that Hori is a [Nasty Word] and yet here you are, on the very same blog you use to slander his name, actively supporting him! Listen, if one of you Anti’s were to sit there and say “I wholeheartedly think Hori is a [Nasty word] and therefore I am no longer going to participate in this fandom or with supporting his creations” then, while I don’t agree with you, I support you in your decision as you have made a clear stance on something with both your words and your actions and I can truly respect that, and hell you would actually get my attention and I might read into what it is you’re talking about. I’m not, however, going to waste my time reading a piece of material written by someone who does all that nasty stuff I previously mentioned and take any of what they say seriously. Let me put it this way; you think Hori is a [Nasty word], you are supporting the show, you are therefore supporting a [nasty word], so why should I take anything you say seriously? I don’t want to see any more of this ‘One minute we love him, one minute we hate him’ attitude because when you hate him the things you are saying are some of the worst things you could possibly say to another person and its childish, disgusting and you’re giving this fandom a bad name.
Now back to the girls, I personally do find certain characters outfits a little distasteful, especially with how they’re done in the anime and how they zoom in on certain body parts, i also dislike how it’s ‘funny’ for characters like Mineta to get away with such disgusting behaviour. I do think that’s the biggest flaw I can find in this show – I don’t however 100% blame Hori for this. Now obviously at the end of the day, it is down to Hori what happens in his show, but can we all stop pretending that it’s just him that does this? When I think of anime the first thing that comes to mind is anime girls and their… attributes. It’s an industry issue and Hori is one of many people that partakes in it – so im not saying he’s not to blame, im just saying some of you are a little dramatic and need to realise if you truly want this behaviour to stop then you need to go after the industry and not just one guy.
Now this next point I want to make is something im sure might be a little confusing for most of you and something I can 100% see the other side of better than some other points ive made. It’s also kinda hard for me to put into words so please bear with me here.
I don’t think its necessary for Hori to develop his female characters as much as their male counterparts – now im sure that’s an odd concept but let me explain. As a child growing up in the age of great TV shows such as Hannah Montana, iCarly, Wizards of Waverly Place etc. I think ive spent a fair amount of time watching TV, my personal favourites as a child were Winx Club, BRATZ and W.I.T.C.H (Im from the UK so apologies if you have no idea what they are). Now all of these shows were ‘for girls’, they all revolve around a group of girls and their adventures in their respective worlds, they learn things along the way, because, even if you don’t realise it, these kids shows have hidden messages in them that are like ‘we should be kind’ ‘we should treat others with respect’ and all that jazz you need to know to be a decent human being. However, the one thing that these shows always lacked was any form of male presence. Now im not saying these shows had no males in them, that would be weird, but what I am saying is that the males in these shows were very one dimensional and they were always the love interest of one of the characters, or you might get the odd parental figure that would show up for one episode to be a motivation for a character. However with BNHA, a show that is specifically aimed at teenage boys, I don’t feel like they do such a disservice to females (AKA the ‘men’ equivalent of my other shows), sure they’re not treated great in certain aspects that I've already discussed, but look at their actual characters, Uraraka is the main girl, sure she very much has the same role as many of the men did in my childhood shows of the ‘love interest’ but her character is more than that and we see it in the sports festival as well as some of the more recent chapters (213-215 to be specific). Her character isn't just some airhead and neither are the other girls, Momo is literally top of the class in terms of written ability and she had her own little mini-arc around gaining confidence (which is still ongoing because guess what – people don’t change overnight), Mina has had some spotlight on her and is seen to be a very confident and skilled fighter, Tsu was literally described as the ‘perfect student with no flaws’ and is shown to be a badass on multiple occasions, Midoriya’s mum is even a character that’s had some form of arc with her learning to believe in her son and she's not some faceless character we hear about every so often when they need a plot device.
Now im not saying the female representation is perfect and it’s certainly not 100% equal to that of the men, but im saying it doesn’t need to be. This is a show for boys, sure girls can watch and enjoy it, but its made for boys in the same way my shows were made for girls, and the average boy isn’t going to want to watch a bunch of fairy princesses run around saving their fluffy little pets like I did (im sure a some of them will – and good for them, in the same way that some girls might want to watch superhero films, it’s not something im saying is bad, its just most people raise children into predetermined stereotypes of what gender roles they should fill and the media caters to that).
So what im saying is that taking a show aimed at boys and comparing it to shows aimed at girls and how each handles the opposite sex (we’re not going into gender here, that’s a whole other topic of diversity), I don’t think BNHA is all that bad. I guess if I want to be a little harsher in my approach, why is it okay to have a near-all female cast and not a near-all male cast? I understand a need for diversity, truly I do, but sometimes having a token character for each ‘type’ of person takes away from what the show is actually trying to convey – and in BNHAs case I think its trying to teach young boys that it’s okay to be emotional or vulnerable when you’re in situations that other shows teach you to ‘man up’ in. Not every show can solve racism, sexism and homophobia, I’m sorry to break it to you, but some shows are a little more basic in their approach to what it is they want to show and I think BNHA is a perfect example of that, it’s showing boys that you can cry, you can go through struggles in life, you can even come back from being a terrible person through growth and development, and I think that’s something boys need. A lot of people in this day and age want men to change (and I agree that there are a lot of things all groups of people can work on) and BNHA is showing boys how to grow up in a way that’s not this ‘tough guy that has no feelings’ and at the end of the day isn’t that something we want?
I do believe there are areas that BNHA really needs to improve in when it comes to it’s female cast, but can we stop with this awful hate? This fandom had such potential to be an amazing community of people who are skilled with art, writing, storytelling, cosplay, etc. but it seems like half of you just want to tear each other down and it’s sad to see such potential wasted because you can’t handle someone having a different opinion or view to you.

For You (BNHA Ageswap AU Fic)
Yesterday night, @guardianlioness reminded me that today was Father’s day, and we both started screaming about it and started trying to extreme speedwrite some DadDeku fluff because that’s not an opportunity we can miss dammit! I’m very pleased with the fact that this is done and it isn’t about ass-o-clock in the morning. I also feel like that’s something I’ve said before, lmao.
Anyway, enjoy! *Jazz Hands*
(Ageswap AU tag)
[ffnet] [AO3]
Actions speak louder than words, but only when you know what you’re doing. Oh well; Toshinori would figure something out. Eventually.
A week into June, Toshinori found himself standing in front of a bright shop display on his way back from school with a bit of a dilemma on his hands.
The last year had been a whirl, all warm smiles and adrenaline and days coming home to a house that wasn’t full of empty rooms or cold air. Now, right on the cusp of his second year’s start, he stared down the assortment of trinkets, discount drinks and snacks in front of him like they could give him the solutions to all his problems right then and there.
Which they didn’t.
He slumped, shuffling away before someone came along to heckle him for staring. There wasn’t much Toshinori kept from the birth parents who had left him behind one day and never looked back; he got a few mannerisms from them, along with his old house, plus someone was keeping the bills payed whenever Toshinori couldn’t cover it himself. Though so far, the vague memory of two smiles and a cheery gift on a very specific day was seated firmly on the line between unnecessary and useful.
Especially since all it mostly did was remind him that he only had one week until Father’s day came and went, and he still had no clue what to get for Deku.
Sure, Father’s day wasn’t actually a huge deal - he heard enough from everyone else to know it was more about saying ‘thank you’ and buying drinks for one’s parent, usually. Little considerate things like that, a watered-down Mother’s day by all means. Except he was pretty sure Deku wasn’t really the drinking type of person in the first place, and it didn’t feel…. right, to be so ordinary about it. At least in America they usually seemed to go a bit bigger, which was exactly what Toshinori was swinging for, but that didn’t entirely change his problem: He wanted to thank Deku and show his appreciation for taking him in by giving him a Father’s day present, and he had absolutely no clue what the man could possibly want or need that he could get.
Maybe a novelty mug? A new set of weights? Some kitschy shirt with an amusing saying picked up from a slightly-less-overpriced-than-usual souvenir shop? Deku was awful cheesy sometimes and a huge fanboy for other heroes, and as he wandered down towards home Toshinori wondered how well he could swing buying Deku a whole ton of cheesy Pro Hero shirts that he didn’t already have in his own collection.
“So… Father’s day, huh?”
“Yeah.” Toshinori ran a hand through his hair. “W-well, it’s just, Deku’s done so much for me. I figured It would be nice to repay him for everything. It’s not usually a big deal, I know, but I want to do something nice.”
“Honestly, you don’t have to stress about it so much.” Inko pat Toshinori’s arm, beaming. “Dad would be thrilled to get something from you for any reason, Toshinori, I just know it.”
“You think?”
“Of course!” She tapped her chin. “Usually I get him a new novelty tie. It’s fun watching him grab it instead of a formal one by mistake and seeing him show up on live television wearing rubber ducks and cartoon fish around his neck. Does wonders for his PR, too.”
“That does kind of explain a few things.” Toshinori laughed. “But, uh, do you have any ideas on what else I could maybe get him? Or do for him?”
“Well yes, but what ideas do you already have so far?”
“Okay, so…”
Izuku’s first clue that something was up came when he pushed open the door, stepped into the living room, and was greeted by one smiling face rather than two.
“I’m home,” he called. Inko looked up from the couch, beaming.
“Hi dad, welcome back!” She chirped. He was probably making a face, because Inko nodded before he could open his mouth again. “Don’t worry. Toshinori’s working on something in his room right now, said it was important. He’ll be out by dinner. I can make sure.”
“Thank you, Inko, and I don’t doubt it,” Izuku said. “You could probably get devil’s to dance for you if you asked politely.” He stepped into the kitchen. “Do you know if we’ve still got the curry from the other night?”
“Top shelf, I think it’s the blue lid.”
“Thanks!”
“You’re putting a lot of thought into this, aren’t'cha, Toshinori?”
“Well yeah, I want to make sure this goes well. And it’s not like I know anything about buying gifts for parents.” Toshinori scowled.
Nana laughed.
“Yes, yes, I got that. And I hope you know that I fully agree with Inko and everything she told you already.”
“You don’t even know if I asked her anything or what she said if I did!”
“You’re so obvious sometimes, Toshinori. Of course you asked her, and of course she told you everything straight. Even I can tell Deku-sensei is gonna be over the moon about whatever you do. You know, one time a classmate of mine gave him chocolate for his birthday since they had some and he nearly burst into tears?”
“Wait, really? He just- no, stop, wait, stay on topic! We only have so much time to get this finished!”
“We have half a week, I think that’ll be plenty. But go on, run it by me again. What do Torino and I need to do?”
“I just need some stuff…”
His second clue was the calendar under the clock, events and passed days marked in various bright markers hanging from a string. Or at least, it would have if Izuku looked at it at all on his quest for a snack.
As it was, the messy Father’s day crammed into the box marking the 18th went entirely unnoticed as he heated a plate and shuffled off to enjoy it, and the date was utterly forgotten until he was partway through his meal.
Off in the depths of his room, Toshinori pulled, ripped the plain paper for the dozenth time, and sighed.
“Man, I should’ve bought the gift bags.”
Tossing the crumpled sheet into the slowly growing pile of paper that used to be his trash can, he cut a new piece and tried again.
“Thank god I didn’t ask for help, no one would ever let me live this down.”
“It should fit in here.”
Naomasa tossed the neon blue and red box, and Toshinori stumbled as he caught it and nearly lost his grip.
“Yeah, this is perfect,” he sad, turning it over in his hands. “Thanks, Nao!”
“No problem. Is everything else in place?”
“Nana and Torino brought the stuff in this morning.”
“Great!” Naomasa smacked his friend’s shoulder. “Good luck then. Give us a call if you need anything else, alright?”
“Gotcha.”
The third and final clue should have been the fact that Inko didn’t give him his usual Father’s day gift the way she usually did; after dinner and accompanied by a hug and laughter.
Toshinori had left his room like Inko said he would, fidgety as all hell and with a grin that refused to stay off his face for all of dinner. Inko had taken one look at his face and smiled so bright, Izuku felt comfortable assuming it was some sort of kid/preteen/teenager thing that he didn’t have to think too hard about.
They scurried off as soon as everything had been cleaned up, whispering and jostling each other, and Izuku couldn’t help but laugh.
“Maybe I should ask them what’s so funny later.”
“Here, this is yours.”
“Oh, thanks.”
“Dad’s usually in his office right now.” Inko smiled. “Are you ready?”
Toshinori grinned back. “As I’ll ever be. Let’s go.”
There was a knock, and Izuku barely paused as he called for them to come in.
“Hey, dad.” Inko pushed through the door, a misshapen bundle of paper in her hands.
“Hi Deku,” Toshinori said. He had something bright tucked behind his back that Izuku couldn’t quite get a good look at from where he sat.
He pushed his work aside and stood. “What’s going on?”
Inko grinned and bounced over, presenting her package.
“Happy Father’s day, dad!” She said. “I’m pretty sure you know what this is already, but I thought the gift wrap would be a nice change of pace.” The paper in question was emblazoned with various bunny cartoons of all shades in the rainbow.
Izuku snorted as he took the present, gently tearing a hole through it and pulling out a roll of green and black fabric.
“Thank you, Inko! The aliens are new.”
“I’m glad you like it! This one was Aunt Mina’s idea.” Inko turned, gesturing to Toshinori, and he shuffled forward hesitantly. “Toshi’s got something for you too.”
Izuku beamed, and set the tie down on his desk. Toshinori grinned back, and held the box in front of him.
“Well, uh, I know Father’s day usually isn’t a big deal in most places, but-” He fiddled with the corner- “I remember once when my parents were still around we celebrated Father’s day, and I thought, maybe I could get you something to say thank you, for everything you’ve done for me. And I know I don’t have to say thanks, or get you anything for today, but I really, really wanted to!” Toshinori straightened, and held his gift a little firmer. “I, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you, saving me then and taking me in and letting me call your house mine too. So.” He pushed the present into Izuku’s arms, gave him the biggest smile he could muster, and all but shouted; “Happy Father’s day, Deku!”
Toshinori stepped back to stand beside Inko, both looking pleased as punch. Izuku stood stock still, processing his words, and for a few minutes there was silence. Inko was still smiling, but Toshinori was just starting to falter when they heard it.
A sniff.
It’s like a dam broke after that, with the tears streaming down past the blinding smile on Izuku’s face.
“O-oh, sorry,” Izuku said, fruitlessly rubbing his eyes. “But, I just…” He took a deep breath. “I’m honored, Toshinori, my boy. Thank you.”
“Shouldn’t you wait until you’ve opened it before you thank me?” Toshinori asked, his surprise fading into a cheeky grin.
“This box better not pop it’s lid out at me after that,” Izuku joked, but he didn’t waste any more time as he pulled at the rumpled ribbon on top. The wrapping paper practially fell apart from there, and he tugged the lid off and set it down on the table.
All manner of things were jammed into every nook and cranny of the present box, colorful shirts and cheesy socks shoved underneath pens and what looked like half a dozen notebooks. He flipped a mug so it faced him, and was met with the words “Number 1 Hero!!” and an arrow pointing up. The travel mug had “Best Dad EVER” written on it. In the corner there was another tie; this one covered in cartoon renditions of his own hero persona’s face.
“I got some help from Nao, and from Nana and Torino while I was looking,” Toshinori admitted. “I don’t really remember the kind of things I would get for my parents on these kinds of days, so I just kind of… bought a little bit of everything? A lot of the books and shirts were pretty cheap down by the school. And I asked Inko about it, too.” He fidgeted. “Uh, what do you think?”
Izuku pretended to think about it. “I think… I love them, Toshinori.” He balanced the gift box on one arm and ruffled his hair. “Really, thank you, my boy. And you too, Inko.”
“You’re welcome, dad!” She hugged him.
“You’re welcome, Deku!” Toshinori glowed.
“Happy Father’s day!”
Izuku yawned as he opened the front door, reaching down to pick up the news and mail. A large envelope caught his attention as he tossed them onto the kitchen table, addressed to him in a familiar bubbly scrawl. He gulped down more coffee.
Carefully peeling the sticker seal off, he tugged the dollar-store card from it’s paper confine and flipped it over. “Don’t you just want to jump for joy?” was on the front, complete with several rabbits. Inside, Ochako’s neat handwriting had written out “Dear Izuku,” before the card’s cheesy Hoppy Father’s day! message, followed by the signatures of several of his friends.
He smiled, then noticed one last message penned amdst the various well-wishes and things.
“P.S: We heard about everything. Congratulations on your new son! :)”
Izuku choked.
