Quarter elf playdate with gnome kids?
Arina Messokrin first hears the music that becomes rock and roll in a tiny tavern in northern Tal’Dorei. She’s the only other bard in the joint, probably the only other bard in town, and she finds out why no less than ten minutes after she walks in for a drink. She’s about to offer to take up her own lute, lighten up the place a bit, when the pair of them walk in.
The pair’s a gnome girl and human boy, though Arina thinks he has some fey blood in him, by the cut of his face and the twinkle in his eye. They’re younger than her by a margin, or at least, the boy is. It’s hard to tell with those small folks, they don’t age quite right. Arina herself’s a human with a sprinkle of orc blood on her mother’s side, and she’s less than halfway through her life, so that says something about this boy. He’s little more than a kid, maybe a year or two past his first score.
But it hardly matters how old either of them are when they start playing. They come with no instruments in hand, but Arina can tell they’re of her sort by the way the walk, and by the way the locals rise their glasses in a cheer for them when they wander in. They’re both wearing fanciful clothes - in purple and gold, like they’re kings or something. The gnome girl climbs onto a table in the far corner of the room - one that seems to have been left open for the two of them in this otherwise packed barroom - and no one stops her. When she’s on the level with her not-so-human boyfriend, she snaps her fingers and-
-an instrument appears in the gnome girl’s hand, one that looks like the guitars that Arina’s seen in her travels south, but slimmer, and the strings look made of a fine metal. Which doesn’t seem right. Besides, there’s no drum for the sound to vibrate in. And magically-sustained instruments don’t produce a very good sound, given they start to fizzle if the musician tries to keep them up while focusing their mind on a difficult piece.
But the gnome girl starts plucking at it, her eyes alight with an intense flood of magic. More instruments, drums by the looks of them, fizzle into existence around her— and Arina realizes that the not-so-human boy’s eyes are glowing, too. Then an instrument appears directly in his hands, a larger and longer version of what the gnome girl is holding.
Arina realizes with a start that the tavern around her has quieted down without either of them so much as strumming a single note. She’s never seen that before. She leans in, and—
—they start playing. At first, there’s a low rumble from the drums floating around them. It’s quick and rhymic, though one of the drums seems to keep a hold on the beat. Then, they start playing their guitar-like instruments, and it sounds strange, like nothing Arina has ever heard before. Like they infused a guitar sound with thunder and lightning. Like they’re playing with the magic, instead of just through it. It’s enchanting honestly, a loud, deep pulse that takes hold of the senses and overcomes the audience. A modern siren’s song.
Then they start singing along with their instrumental.
Arina doesn’t recognize the language they’re singing in, but their voices compliment each other, the gnome’s high and heavy, the fey-human’s low and delicate. The barmaid must see the look on her face, because she leans over and whispers, “The boy’s singing in Infernal, the girl in Celestial. Don’t ask where they learned that, but that’s what they told me when I asked.” Arina almost wants to shush her for talking over their playing, but that’s… interesting. What is this? Where did these two come from?
When they’re done their set, Arina approaches them immediately. She can see the callouses on their fingers and the sweat on the brows, but also the satisfied smiles on their faces. “Hey-o,” Arina says, “I’ve never heard anything like that, it was fuckin’ amazing.”
“Thanks,” says the not-so-human boy, and she sees that spark of fey blood flash in his eyes. He rubs his arm, and it draws Arina’s attention the the array of tats decorating his arms. She recognizes some Elvish script on the inside of his forearm, but she’s not fluent enough in the language to make out the words. How many languages do these two speak? Where did they come from?
“It’s a new sound we’re working on,” says the gnome girl. Arina’s eyes flicker to her. Her hair is buzzed short to contrast her companion’s long, freeflowing black hair, and she has her own myriad of tattoos, including a couple more in languages Arina doesn’t recognize.
“It’s… well, from one musician to another, it’s working great.”
“You’re a musician?” says the boy, and when he perks up, Arina notices that the bits of ears poking out from his hair aren’t shaped quite right. He’s too human-looking to be a half-elf, though. Maybe a couple generations removed, like she is from orcs? “That’s sweet, you should play with us tomorrow night. We’re doing a set across the street.”
“Oh, I don’t have any instruments that sound like your magic ones,” Arina says.
“Can you play a fiddle?” asks the gnome girl, and when Arina nods, the girl says, “Then you can play with us. The sound incorporates pretty well. My sister only plays the traditional instruments, so we’re alright at working them in.”
“You come from a family of musicians?”
“My sister, my dad. Mom’s got the musical ability of a turnip, but we still love her,” says the gnome girl good-naturedly.
“And what about you?”
The boy shakes his head. “Nah, I learned everything I knows from her dad,” he says, nodding at his gnome friend. “My parents wouldn’t know good music if it hit them in the face.”
“Your mom has a pretty singing voice,” objects the gnome.
“Yeah, that she never uses,” says the fey-human. “Anyway, that’s an elf thing. She’s got a normal voice by elf standards.”
Elf. Arina was right, then. Though she’d have thought he’d look more elf-ish if his mother’s a half-elf?
“We’re going to turn in for the night,” says the gnome girl, drawing Arina back to the conversation at hand, “but we hope to see you tomorrow— what was your name?”
“Arina Messokrin,” she says, giving the slightest and loosest of curtsies, just out of respect for their obvious talent. “And you two are?”
“June Trickfoot,” says the gnome girl, “and this is my cousin, Vax de Rolo.” Interesting word choice on June’s part, calling her friend her cousin, of all familial relations. Arina would’ve pegged her the type to call him her brother, but she doesn’t know them well enough to comment.
So instead she says, “Nice to meet you both. See you tomorrow night.”
June gives her a little wave, and Vax does a two-fingered salute. Then they’re both out the door. The chatter in the tavern gradually starts to pick up again.
“They’re pretty great, ain’t they?” says the same barmaid from earlier when Arina wanders back for another drink.
“Yeah,” Arina says. “They do seem pretty great…”

anyways i hope you have a lovely day and to please enjoy this little thing 💓"
---
Ted blew his bangs out of his face for the fifth time since he'd sat down on Bill's bed, trying to focus on his comic and finding the ultimate difficulty in reading between the long strands. His hair almost reached past his shoulders, and Missy's abandoned scrunchies were starting to look most intriguing.
Bill was no better. Every time he ran his fingers through his hair, they wound up tangled. There was no way he'd be able to handle brushing it every single morning, but the habit of messing with his hair was too ingrained.
"Dude, we need haircuts," Bill grumbled as his forefinger caught on a twisty piece of fringe. "I'm gonna look like a seventies disco dude." Ted snickered at that, and Bill thwacked his chest lightly. "Shut up, Ted, I'm serious."
"Well, my dad won't even pay for a good haircut," Ted huffed, dropping his comic book and blowing his bangs away once more. "If he did, it'd be a buzz." He paused for a moment before suggesting, "You don't suppose Missy could cut our hair?" Bill let out a laugh.
"I would be most doubtful of her skills."
"Okay, well... How much do haircuts cost?"
"More than we can afford." Ted frowned and looked down. "My dad would probably just tell me to cut my hair myself if I asked." It went silent for a moment before a lightbulb lit up in Ted's brain, and he bounced on the bed with enthusiasm.
"...Well, why don't we?"
"Why don't we what, dude?"
"Cut our own hair!"
The idea thrown out to the wind sounded more than insane. Neither of them knew the first thing about cutting each other's hair, let alone their own.
But the thing about Bill and Ted was that, as long as they did it together, it was more than enough reason to say why not?
"Ted, my friend, your idea is definitely most forward-thinking!" Bill complimented, jumping up. "We both know what each other's hair looks like, so we'll totally be able to replicate it!"
The wide grin on Ted's face was enough to break it, jumping up with Bill and looking around.
"I'll go get hair stuff," Bill said as he rushed towards the door. "You get a chair set up." Ted nodded as Bill bolted from the room, going to the corner to grab an old twisty chair that they never used. It still twisted, and was just about the right height for cutting hair, it seemed.
Ted was testing the chair by spinning in fast circles when Bill came back in with a pair of kitchen scissors and two huge towels. He swayed a little as he regained his normal vision from spinning, seeing that Bill was also carrying a spray bottle filled with water, a brush and comb, and a tube of hair product.
"I grabbed some other stuff from Missy's counter, too," Bill said as he dropped it all down on the bed. He picked up the tube and read it, "Something called...'Gar-near Fruck-tiss.' The instructions say it makes your hair smooth." Ted gave an intrigued head tilt before giving a nod and a smile.
"Well, dude, smooth me!" Ted joked, and Bill gave him a look before they found themselves air-guitaring.
Bill wrapped one of the towels around Ted's neck and shoulders, making sure he pulled his hair out from underneath. Bill leant down to assess it, squinting to see if it would help him decide on a course of correct action.
"How short should I cut it, dude?" Bill finally asked. Ted brought up a hand and hovered it palm down before holding it right where his chin ended as reference, and Bill nodded, picking up the spray bottle and spraying Ted's entire head all over until his hair went damp through.
"Bill, you are most concentrated," Ted hummed as Bill ran the comb through his hair to measure it down. It was already frayed from whenever his last haircut had been, it seemed. "Do you actually know what you're doing?"
"Uh...," Bill hummed, shrugging. "I used to watch my mom get her hair cut before when I was a little kid, I guess. They always wet your hair and then do this trippy snippy thing."
Ted snorted as Bill snipped the scissors a couple of times in the air before diving into Ted's hair, holding the length to cut off between his fingers and slowly scissoring away.
It was quiet while Bill worked on his hair, Ted doing his best to keep still, even if he really wanted to turn his head and see exactly what was happening. The only sounds filling the room were Bill walking around him and the snip of the scissors.
As soon as Bill cut off the last edge of Ted's hair, he stepped back and studied his work, furrowing his brows before grinning.
"Dude, I totally nailed you!" he exclaimed, and the redness to Ted's cheeks caused him to add on, "Uh- Your hair, I mean. It looks most bodacious." Ted looked around the room frantically for any reflection, and jumped when Bill held up a mirror in front of his face.
Bill really had done an excellent job. His hair was back to its regular length, hanging right around his chin. His bangs were still a problem, though, and he looked over at Bill and gestured to them.
"Oh, dude, yeah," Bill huffed as he dropped the mirror back where he'd grabbed it and picked up the scissors again. "Sorry, Ted, I forgot your main problem is your egregiously long bangs."
"They're like curtains for my face, duder," Ted hummed as Bill began to separate the bangs from the rest of his hair. He cursed when he grabbed too much of Ted's already-trimmed sections before Ted spoke up, "Oh, dude, grab one of Missy's scrunchies!" Bill raised a brow before following Ted's gaze to the bedside table, where about four of Missy's scrunchies were sitting. How they got there, Bill personally didn't want to think about it. Regardless, he went over to grab one and handed it over to Ted so he could pull his hair back and let Bill have full reign on his bangs.
"Where do they usually end?" he asked as he eyeballed possible measurements with his fingers. His face wasn't unreasonably close to Ted's, considering the circumstances, but it still made Ted nervous.
"Just, like, enough so I can see okay, I guess," Ted said, and Bill nodded as he took the comb and brushed his bangs even before sticking the handle in between his teeth and bringing the scissors up.
At this angle, Ted could see Bill's entire process as he watched his hair being snipped off. The way his face was scrunched in concentration, his gentle movements to make sure he wasn't tugging Ted's head any direction.
He didn't realise Bill was finished until he saw his reflection in the mirror when it was held up.
He looked good, if not better than before, with Bill's handiwork.
"How'd I do, dude?" Bill asked, and Ted reached up to touch his already drying hair. "Want me to put the Fruck-tiss in it?"
"Uh- Yeah, dude, sure." Ted looked over to see Bill grabbing the tube and opening it up, squirting a generous amount into his palm. "Do I have to wash it out?"
"Uh...," Bill turned the tube in his hand and scrunched his nose, shaking his head. "It says to leave in for fifteen minutes and your hair will be, 'smooth and sleek.'" He looked up. "Ready?"
"Yeah, Bill."
After a moment, Ted felt Bill's hands and fingers running right through his hair, keeping away from his scalp as per the instructions on the tube. It was smooth and gentle and overall intimate the way Bill paid careful attention to Ted's hair, running his fingers through. He might've put too much product in, but they could always wash it out if needed.
"Alright!" Bill said when the product was more or less incorporated. "You have been fully transformed into your most authentic self, my friend!"
"Dude, excellent!" Ted said as Bill took the towel off of him, trying not to get the hair everywhere (it already was, but that was beside the point). "My turn, Bill!" Ted stood up and took an exaggerated bow towards the twisty chair, gesturing for Bill to take a seat. Bill bowed back before dropping down and smiling.
Ted mimicked his actions from earlier, draping the towel around his neck and grabbing the spray bottle. However, Bill's hair was curly and almost like a jewfro, and he briefly wondered how he was going to cut it down.
"Dude, I don't think water is going to help," Ted said as he looked around at Bill's head. "You do have one stellar mullet now, but the rest is growing up." Hesitantly, he ran his fingers gently through Bill's curly hair, feeling just how insanely tangled it was. Bill briefly shivered at the motion, telling himself internally to just relax.
He'd already cut Ted's hair, so he should know what to expect, but still, the shock of actually feeling Ted's hands and fingers gave him the most unusual of feelings in his chest. He wasn't necessarily sure if they were nerves or emotions, but either way, it sent a shiver down his spine every time Ted's skin connected to him.
Bill bit the inside of his cheek as Ted stuck his tongue out and tested a single lock of hair, snipping off the end before grinning, nodding as he started to continue.
"Dude, it's like trimming a bush!" he laughed as he went all around, mimicking Bill once more by holding each lock between his fingers. Bill's blond hair fell and separated with each snip that the scissors gave. Ted's movements were slow and calculated, his genuine care for making sure he cut Bill's hair in the most correct way making Bill feel a little more than special.
It took Ted longer than it took Bill to finish up, giving a lock one last cut before jumping back and grinning as he crossed his arms.
"Dude, how is it?" Bill asked, gesturing. "Gimme that mirror!" Ted straightened up as he remembered, turning in a couple of circles before picking it up off the the bed and holding it up.
Ted hadn't done a terrible job, he had to admit. He turned his head back and forth, his smile growing as he saw Ted show up behind him in the reflection. He took a hand and ran it through his hair front to back.
It took Bill a second before he concluded that Ted forgot to cut off his mullet, and he grinned with a scoff.
"Dude, you totally missed the back," Bill said, his hand flipping the hair in Ted's view. Ted frowned as he stood up straight and tilted his head.
"Did I, dude?" he raised his eyebrows, reaching down to move Bill's away and examine it. "Bill, if I might be totally honest, you have always had this mullet, though I will admit it's much longer than normal..."
"No way, dude," Bill rolled his eyes in response. "Gimme those scissors." He reached back to grab the utensil from Bill's hand, a most dangerous risk. Ted, however, held back the pair with a grin.
"Dude, you'll be a total mullet-head!" Ted laughed as he turned and jumped up on the bed, knocking a couple of the items onto the floor. Bill spun around in his seat and looked at the scissors clasped wrong-way-up in Ted's fist.
Bill eyed him for a long moment before bolting up from the chair in a lunge, a total disregard for all those 'safety with scissors' rules from grade school. Ted leaped off the bed for the corner, Bill chasing him there. They could only run around in the small confines of Bill's room, so there weren't many places for Ted to go, nor space to make between himself and Bill.
It became apparent when Ted got onto the bed again and Bill fully tackled him so he had him trapped underneath.
Ted was still laughing even when Bill had him pinned by the wrists and was currently looking down on him with the most fondest of looks, a huge smile gracing his entire face.
"Dude," Ted said through chuckles as he flipped his newly cut bangs away from his eyes, "you look definitively bodacious with your mullet. I think you should keep it." Bill tilted his head.
"Ted, my friend, there is nothing in your head that could ever convince me." Ted let out a laugh before he looked at it over Bill's shoulder, comtemplating.
"I like it on you, dude."
It didn't take long for Bill's brain to immediately agree with that statement.
"You think so, dude?" Bill found himself asking, and Ted looked back to Bill's face, smiling with a nod.
"Most triumphantly." The words put a smile on his own lips, and the warm, butterfly-feeling in his chest was new but most definitely welcome as he squeezed Ted's wrists.
"Well, then, Ted, my most excellent and esteemed partner, I suppose I must keep it just for you."

Tumblr media
Kirishima looked up at his calendar, a sad sigh escaping his lips.
That number shouldn’t be such a big deal, that plain black “11” tiny and insignificant next to all the other digits, like little ants stationary on the page.
What it represented, though, was so much more: that day so many weeks ago was so full of heartache and misery, the feeling of being lied to eating at his core for days to come.
Today, 3 months ago, was the day you confessed to him that you didn’t love him.
Kirishima has never felt so betrayed and heartbroken in his whole life: you were his first real love after all, and hearing you say your love was a lie destroyed him.
He didn’t know what to do or how to even react to that news: he had felt so numb after, so incredibly empty, it was like he was a walking shell of himself once he left your room.
His friends had tried to cheer him up constantly, always putting in the effort to lift his spirits with laughter and comfort. But the warmth of their attempts of cheering him up didn’t help him at all: he always still felt so cold inside.
It also didn’t help that you had mysteriously left UA the day after the “breakup.” When Kirishima laid his tired puffy eyes on your empty desk the next day, his heart couldn’t help but beat feverishly. He knew he shouldn’t care that you were gone, but he couldn’t help it. No matter which way he spun it, He was still desperately falling for you, even if you had broken his heart.
He had sat down, his back slumped as he eyed that empty seat with worry.
How had everything gone so wrong?
He couldn’t fathom what had gone stray-your love  had honestly felt so real to him. You had told him you had only dated him out of pity-but if somebody was being forced to do something, just to spare someone’s feelings, would they have given him his first kiss so perfectly, making sure to be soft and gentle? Would they have stuck with him late into the night to help study for tests? Or give him sweet kisses on his scars when he was feeling self conscious?
It just didn’t add up-the feelings you two had were genuine and real. It couldn’t all be one sided like you had said.
He gave another look to that chair, just imagining the ghost of you sitting there, turning around and sending him that infectious smile that light up his whole day.
God, it wasn't even one whole day and he felt so incomplete without you.
Mr. Aizawa walked in, everyone scrambling to their seats and watching him intently, the room getting noticeably more quiet.
He didn’t remember much of that class-he had remembered Mr.Aizawa standing at the front of the class, his deep voice breaking his miserable thoughts when he said the class would be free of one student.
You had seemingly left in the middle of the night, your guardians notifying the school you would no longer be attending UA due to you moving. All of Class 1-A was incredibly confused, including Kirishima- you had never said you were moving, yet you somehow were just gone. As if you never existed.
It just didn’t add up to Kirishima-you would have said something about moving, or at least acted strange the weeks prior. All these events just didn’t make sense to Kirishima-the break up, your confession, you leaving-it all just didn’t add up. But he was too tired, too wrecked inside to think about it anymore. The more he tried to piece the story together the more it gnawed at him, making him feel so much more worse than he already felt. He slumped in his chair, knowing full well everyone was staring at him-you were his boyfriend after all, he should have known.
Oh wait-ex.
He slumped in his chair even more, barely the tips of his spiky red hair poking up from the desk table.
It was gonna be a long few weeks for him, he could already feel it.
Now he was past all those days of crying and breaking over you-some days he could actually forget about you and not have to worry. But on days that were permanently etched into his mind, like today, he couldn’t help but remember.
Kirishima's phone began to ring, the vibration of the call making the phone jitter against the wood of his desk. He tore himself away from the calendar, his hands instantly swiping to take the call once he saw the Caller ID.
“Hey Fat, how's it going!” Kirishima forced a smile, his voice preppy and bright as if nothing had ever happened.
“Kirishima, thanks for taking the call,” his mentor seemed to breathe a sigh of relief hearing his bright voice on the other end.
Since Kirishima was in his 3rd year, he was required to do another work study, for an even longer period of time than before. So when he was asked by Fatgum to come join the agency once again, he couldn’t help but say no. He had loved his old mentor back from his 1st year, even if he did get pretty banged up at the end of his work study. He was more than happy to join his agency again, and wanted nothing more to learn and grow to be the best hero he could be.
“I know this is pretty late in the day for you,” Fatgum continued, “but I’m going to need your help,”
“Tamaki was supposed to be patrolling on the West side of town tonight, but he got called in to help with a robbery on the North side. I don’t have anybody else to take his place, so I was hoping you could take over his shift for the night,”
“Of course! I’ll do anything you need,” Kirishima propped his phone into the crook of his neck, already rummaging around his room for his hero suit.
“You're a lifesaver Kirishima!” Fatgum exclaimed, the toothy grin he was most likely sporting practically audible.“See ya for training tomorrow then!”
“You too, Fat,” Kirishima's cheerful tone waned, a sad smile replacing his bright grin as he stared down at his hero suit.
He had already known today was going to be a tough day for him, and the fact that he was off from any type of hero work that would make him forget about his sadness didn’t help.
But now that Fatgum has given him a job tonight, he might be able to erase his mind of all the past heart ache for the next few hours. He gave himself a small smile, his hero suit beckoning him to put it on, the reds and blacks calling to him like ghosts from a dream.
He was gonna at least try to forget-just for the night.
It was now an hour before the end of his shift, and he was feeling practically tired.
The West side of town was relatively quiet, nowhere near the crime riddled areas of the North side of the city boulevard. He knew these streets well from patrolling them almost every night of his hero study, knowing each alleyway and path like the back of his hand.
Tonight was silent, only a few late night joggers or the occasional fast food joint open for any customers getting the late night munchies.
It was soft, provincial, and bitter sweet.
He was trying his best to not remember, to not remember your face, or your smile, or the way you would laugh so warmly whenever he did something amusing. He was trying not to imagine you standing by his side, your hand grabbing his and your shoulder resting  on his, a happy sigh escaping your lips.
Why were still haunting him, even three months later?
why couldn’t he just forget about you?
A crash and a yell snapped Kirishima out of his memory, an angry scream of a teen being heard from the late night restaurant.
He shook his head to rid himself of those unwanted thoughts, noticing a black figure running across the parking lot into an alleyway at lightning speed.
“That-that Villian!” She shrieked, her friends trying to soothe her as she continued on her rampage, “She stole my wallet! My damn wallet! The hell-“
“Don’t worry ma’am, I’ll get it back for you, don’t worry!” He yelled towards the group, his voice warm and assuring as he sent her a toothy grin. His feet began pounding the pavement, disappearing into the alleyway in the direction of the criminal.
Your breath came out in painful huffs, your hand fumbling to put the wallet into the jacket of your Villian suit.
Damn Shigaraki and his “plans.”
Shigaraki has now concocted up his next bright idea  for the League, this time relying on you stealing an ID card from a college student that looked similar to you.
While the LOV was going off stealing a bank for some extra cash, you were told to go find someone who looked similar to you in order to pass as them. for what you had no idea, but you knew Shigaraki would be extremely mad with you if you didn’t do what he asked. You shivered at the thought of him, those cold red eyes like bloody daggers ripping into your flesh.
You slowed to a stop, your breath coming out in pants as you pulled down the mask on your face, your breath finally free from the constricting fabric.
God you hated running.
Nobody seemed to be following you though, footsteps inaudible to your ears. You slinked into a dark corner of the alleyway, your hands rummaging inside the wallet for the ID card you desperately needed.
Cash, credit card, a picture of her and possibly her boyfriend,a shit ton of gift cards-
You breathed a sigh of relief, flicking out the desired card with a flourish. In the low light conditions you were in, it was hard to see her details, but you knew that it matched your complexion just enough to pass by.
Thank God, now Shigaraki wouldn’t be on your ass-
“Hey, it’s not cool to steal, man,” you heard a familiar voice echo throughout the concrete walls of the alleyway, making your blood run cold.
Shit, please not be him, anybody but him-
You instantly tugged your mask over your mouth and nose, praying to God it wasn’t him.
Maybe it was another hero, or somebody that just resembled him-
“Just give me back what you stole, and nothing bad will happen to ya,” Kirishima continued, his footsteps slow and solemn as he walked over to you, as if you were a wounded animal that could attack at any moment.
You shoved the wallet hastily into your jacket pocket, looking around, desperate for a way out.
Damn it-you were completely blocked from the back, a tall cement wall blocking your escape. The only way for you to get out was to somehow dodge Kirishima and make a run for it, or fight him.
God definitely had his favorites, and it obviously wasn’t you.
This boy was so quiet-all that hero training made him extremely agile, like a cat going forward it’s prey  as he continued to walk towards you cautiously.
It was a shock to see him-he looked so much older, his handsome face making your heart squeeze painfully. He still sported his iconic red hair to match his suit, the only thing really changing was the amount of scars on his body. When you two had dated, you were so close to him you knew every valley, ditch, and scar on his body like your own.
He was getting stronger and tougher, growing to his goal while you were stuck in your life, still just a little pawn in Shigarakis decaying hands.
You didn’t feel like fighting him-you still felt guilty for the way you had ended things with him, even though it was weeks after. You knew it had to be done in order to protect him, but you also knew it had hurt him to the point of no return.
He had to have hated you now, and honestly, you didn’t blame him-it just hurt to know you lost a love you still felt. And it was your fault.
Kirishima watched your every move, not suspecting a thing-you were just another thug, another puny Villain he had to take down. Even though it was decent fun to take a criminal down, dealing with witnesses, the police, and paperwork was quite the opposite. But it’d get his mind off of his own misery.
The Villain seemed strange though-as if they were terrified by the mere sight of him. They weren’t even trying to bad mouth him, which was a definite first for him. It was hard to see in the dark alleyway, but he could make out the outline of the thief trying to quickly dodge him, trying to break into a run to get out of the cramped dead end.
Kirishima swiftly grabbed the arm of their leather jacket, pulling your squirming body close to his.
You were screaming internally-he needed to let go, he had to let go. Your heart felt like it was ripping apart, the sudden memories flooding your body as you remembered how it felt to be so close to him, to be so intimate you could see the flecks of brown in his vermillion red eyes. You didn’t want him to realize it was you, to see you as his enemy yet again. You couldn’t bear to see the heartbreak and disappointment in his eyes, your hands clawing to get away.
“Hey-just calm down a little-“ he huffed out, the words separated as he tried to keep a hold on your body.
It was strange to him though-you weren’t even talking, not a peep was spilling out of your lips. You seemed pretty young, and by your smaller frame, you were most likely female. You seemed
so scared, your eyes bright with desperation and fright.
His larger hands kept you close to him, his heart pinging with hurt-
There was no way this was you. He was going crazy-those weren’t your eyes.
But God, they looked so familiar-your eyes looked exactly like that the day you two broke up. Full of fear and sadness and guilt-
This wasn’t you, this couldn’t be you, but-if it was-
With one hand firmly wrapped your waist and another shakily reaching toward your mask, your body fighting desperately to get him to stop. Even through your attempts, he pulled the material gently off your skin, The flimsy black mask falling to the ground pitifully. your face looking down at the ground with embarrassment, now knowing your cover was blown.
Kirishima's heart beat painfully-it was you, this was you.
What had happened?
“Y-y/n?” He stuttered out, his voice caught pitifully in his throat.
You swallowed thickly, trying to shove the dry ball of embarrassment down your throat.
“H-hi Kiri,”
He quickly let go of you, his body blocking your exit as he stared at you in disbelief.
You looked so different, so unlike you-you were wearing a completely black outfit, the material shiny like wet rocks near a dark river. Your hair was pulled back painfully tight, your eyes looking down at your scuffed combat boots in despair.
You looked so defeated and so sad, as if there was no happiness left in your body.
Who even were you?
“What happened to you? Why are stealing? Where have you even been?” He bombarded you with questions, his voice getting more and more authoritative and desperate as questions flooded his mind.
You couldn’t even think to comprehend an answer to any of them-you just needed to forget this encounter ever happened. For your and Kirishima’s sanity and, most importantly, safety.
“Just let me go Kirishima,” you dodged his question, taking a step forward to push your way out of the alleyway.
Kirishima's body was bigger and stronger though, and with each shuffle you attempted he would close the gap between you two, blocking your escape solely with his body.
“No, I-I need answers y/n,” he replied. His voice sounded so hurt, so full of anguished you felt your heart break a little more. He was still hurting, and now he was confused, seeing you all dressed up and committing crimes like a low level Villian.
“I need to know what happened to you.”
You faulted in your step, staring at Kirishima with wide, mournful eyes. You made yet another attempt to surpass him, your shoulder a mere centimeters away from his as you tried to walk past him.
“Nothing happened Kirishima, please just let me-“
If you thought you were going to leave that easily, you were crazy.
He swiftly grabbed your arm, his calloused hands rough against the leather of your jacket. Even through the thick material you could feel how warm he was-he always radiated such heat and brightness.
“Why did you leave UA?” He was abrupt with his question, but the hint of softness faltered his harsh exterior-he was still worried for you.
A deep sigh cascaded from your lips, your brow starting to sweat. You were tired of dealing with this heavy burden, this spider web of lies you had created for your own self. You still loved Kiri, yes, but your relationship was over and done. There was really no fear of judgement anymore. Hell, he just saw you steal a wallet like a low level thug-how much more could he judge you in this moment?
“You want the truth Kiri?” Your voice was blunt, and monotone, a shield from your true emotions.
“You want to know who I really am? I-I’m a Villian. I work for the LOV. I only went to UA because I had to listen to Shigaraki. He needed info and I was the only one to do it.”
You sneaked a peek at Kirishima's face, a slight grimace on your lips as you anticipated the look of disgust on his face. Your heart thumped painfully, waiting for him to look at you with revulsion, but-it never came. His bright vermillion eyes still stared down at you softly, his eyes coated with worry and sympathy.
“So-you were being forced?”
“At first I wanted to do it-b-but after I while, I started to change my mind,”
he was so warm, his body heat seeping into your cold skin like a fire on a winter's night. Even now, in this dark alley, exactly 3 months from your terrible breakup-he still could make you feel safe. He was your home in the snow storm, so warm and comforting when the rest of the world was so unforgiving and icy. You relished the feeling of his calloused palms on your body, wishing those hands were on your skin instead of your jacket so they could  slowly  warm your whole body with their wonderful  heat.
“Then why did you leave?”
You gulped, licking your lips tentatively. Did you really want to tell him the truth? Tell him how weak you truly were? You honestly didn’t, a part of you screaming to just feed him a lie that would satiate you both-but the thought of living with even more of a guilty conscience made your mouth go dry. He didn't deserve another lie-after all you did to him, Kirishima deserved the truth.
“I-I didn’t want to get hurt. I didn’t want you to get hurt. If Shigaraki found out I was considering leaving the LOV, he would have done anything in his power to keep me.”
“You don’t know the League like I do. When I mean he would do anything-he would do anything-including killing.”
Kirishima's eyes momentarily widened, the brutal words cutting the air like a knife. It didn’t surprise him, though-he was a hero in training after all. He had been in too many dangerous run ins with villians-hell, he couldn’t even count how many times he could have died just in his first year at UA. Death was a recurring threat in Kirishima's life, and , for better or worse, it didn’t scare him as much as it used to.
“Kiri-I-I lied to you to keep you safe. You meant the world to me-You still do. I still think about you all the time, and I know you probably hate me, but I still love you. I never stopped.”
He watched your eyes turn down in shame, your head hanging low as if you were carrying a great burden. It was painstakingly obvious you were feeling guilty and remorseful, and his heart throbbed at the thought that of you being forced to continue on with this life. We all made dumb mistakes when we were younger-you shouldn’t have to keep the burden of your past decisions still.
As much as he felt sympathy for you, he couldn't help but feel so happy that you still had feelings for him. No matter how he spun it, he still cared for you and loved you with all his heart-hearing The same thoughts come from you just made him fall for you even more.
He gingerly took your chin in his hands, his calloused digits lifting your sullen head in order for him to look at you fully. Even when you looked so downtrodden, you were absolutely beautiful to him, and he couldn’t help but smile.
“God, take the words right out of mouth, huh?”
Kirishima's heartbeat feverishly in his chest-what he was about to do was so incredibly risky, but he had to do it. Too many nights he spent dreaming and remembering you, the memories bitter sweet. Now that he had you in front of him, he was going to take any chance he could go get those sensations back in his life.
Kirishima placed his lips gently on yours, knocking the wind out of your lungs. You couldn’t breathe-it was like you were drowning on his essence-yet you couldn’t careless. Warmth filled your stomach, fueling all over your body like a hot flame. It was so comforting and surreal to be feeling this again, to have Kirishima's hot lips pressed against yours.
He parted from you, both of you buzzing with electricity. It was surprising how much truth that kiss held-it melted the cocoon you two had around your hearts, allowing you two to see how much you had truly missed each other.
“ Y/n, I miss you, I knew that night you said you didn’t love me, something wasn’t right,” he spoke, his breath fanning your lips gently. “I knew there was more than what you were letting on.”
Kirishima grabbed your arms suddenly, looking you square in the face with intense eyes.
“ Y/n, you should have left then and there! We would have protected you! I would have protected! I promise I wouldn’t have let anything happen to you-“
“Y/n, you need to leave them, please,”
You sighed, hating how quickly the air thickened with the remembrance of your current situation.
“Kiri, I don’t want anybody to potentially get hurt because of my dumbass decisions, I’m fine, I can handle myself-“
“Y/n, no your not fine! Look at you-,”he motioned to your clothing and your sullen face, “this isn’t you at all!
“Kiri, please, don’t give me false hope-“ you shoved him off, wrapping your arms around your body to protect yourself. If you didn’t get control of yourself, you would follow his words in a heartbeat. As much as you would love to run into the strong arms of Kirishima, for him to warm your numb body with his positive energy- you knew it was dangerous. You didn’t want anybody to get hurt over you.
“It isn’t false hope though….” He smiled sweetly at you, his hand stretched out to you, “please, just take my hand, Kay? Nothing bad will happen, I promise,”
You stared at him long and hard, your eyes wide with fear and uncertainty-he was so genuine, so warm, so forgiving. He wanted to help you, he was willing and ready. He wanted to fight the world with you by his side, to protect the people he needed to protect with his loving energy. Kirishima had a way of making you believe anything that came out of his mouth, and you were falling for his spell. You didn’t know if it was the shock from seeing him after so long, his kiss, or just from wanting to leave so badly, but you stretched out your hand, ready for him to take you away.
a cruel, scraggly voice boomed from the shadows, “He promises to keep his little love bird safe.”
“How touching.”
You two spun your heads around at the sound of the ominous voice, your blood running cold.
“Shigaraki,” you gasped out, your eyes glued onto your leader.
He was smiling a sick grin, his expression sadistic and cruel as he stood in a few paces away from you two. He was clothed in his Villain suit, his clothes tattered and dark like the Grim Reaper himself.
Spinner and Twice were standing close by, surveying the scene from above as Shigaraki sauntered to you two. Kirishima's expression instantly turned from softness to determination, his body instantly turning to shield yours.
“Oh no need to act so heroic hero,” he grinned, his tone sickeningly sweet life cough syrup.
“Just give us our comrade and we’ll be on our way.”
“You're not going anywhere with her!” Kirishima yelled, his quirk activating in his arm as he shielded you from Shigaraki. “She doesn’t want to be with you scumbags anymore!”
“I’d watch your tone if I were you, especially for trying to defend a spineless traitor like her.”
Kirishima's face turned red in anger, his whole body now turning as solid as a rock as he charged your former leader.
“You piece of-“
Shigaraki continued the sick grin plastered on his face as Spinner and Twice instantly jumped from their positions, grabbing Kirishima's arms and roughly slamming him into the nearby wall. You heard the air forces out of Kirishima's lungs, his face contorted in pain. Your heart felt as if it was getting stabbed as you watched Kirishima struggle against their holds.
“Kirishima!” You screamed, your body yelling at you to help him-but you knew you couldn’t take on those two by yourself, not even including Shigaraki.
You turned to the villainous man in front of you, your eyes pleading.
“Shigaraki, please, tell them to let him go-let him go!”
He took a step toward you, his footsteps ringing slowly like the ticks of an old clock.
“Oh, I will,” he replied, his voice low and sadistic, “-when you rejoin the League.
“ I’d kill you right now for being such a selfish brat if I didn’t need you-so take it as a gift. I’ll spare your life if you just come-“
“Never,” you spat at him, fear filling your stomach with your defiance. You were surprised to hear how steady your voice was, but the slight Tremble in your fists said otherwise.
“Fine then,” he smirked, “suit yourself-“
With a wave of his decaying hands, Spinner and Twice began to use their full force on Kirishima-punching, kicking, anything to torture him. He was trying his best to block them, even with his quirk-but they were quite strong, especially once Twice used his quirk to produce more of his own body. It quickly began evident that Kirishima was having a hard time to fight off the villains, his Stance slowly becoming weaker and weaker as his face began to bruise and his arm dusted with his own blood.
You were hopeless to just watch, watching your worst fear come to life-people we’re already getting hurt over you.
Anger filled your stomach, licking up your body like hot flames as you turned to charge Shigaraki, fire in your eyes.
“Stop it you crusty ass-“ you yelled out, your fists out as you tried to land a punch on the Villian.
He seemed to know your exact movements though, his hands harshly grabbing your wrists and mouth, colliding your body with his.
“I’d watch that mouth of yours if I were you, unless you want it to disintegrate-along with the rest of you-“
Shit.
You had momentarily forgotten about Shigaraki’s dangerous quirk-one wrong move and you could be a heap on the ground, nothing more. The fingers around your mouth were delicate, knowing full well you wouldn’t try and escape. They drummed playfully against your mouth, as if taunting you to do something foolish. You felt how cold he was, the feeling of his chapped skin on yours disgusting as he toyed with your life in his hands.
It was all a game for him-and he was winning.
“Look at him-“ Shigaraki ordered, the grip around your mouth suddenly tightening as he twisted your head to face Kirishima's misery.
“You caused this, y/n. All this pain, all this suffering. If you leave, he will be the first we target. Well slowly go after each and every person you have ever loved, until we finally come for you.”
“Now, you don’t want that, do you?”  He asked, his face tilting in order to see your answer. You forced yourself to not look at him, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing the small tears running down your cheeks.
All you could muster was a small shake of your head, the vibration of your movement going through Shigarakis finger tips.
Through the fists and clones he was trying to fight off, Kirishima could see you shaking your head, Shigaraki looking practically happy by your answer. A sinking feeling filled Kirishima's stomach as he saw your body language slouch in defeat. He Tried to call at you, to stop you from agreeing to whatever was coming out of Shigarakis lying lips, but at that moment one of the clones landed a solid punch to his stomach. Kirishima felt all the air leave out of his lungs , his knees wobbling and hitting the floor as his head spun from the pain.
Shigaraki still had his hold on you, watching how your face crumpled as you watched Kirishima fall and unable to help.
“Good, now, will you come and rejoin?” He asked one last time, motioning for his comrades to move away from Kirishima and back to their spot on the roof of the alleyway.
He knew now he had you under his finger, knowing the show he had just made you watched instilled enough fear for you to never leave his team again. He watched your eyes cower to give one last look at Kirishima's crumpled body, your shoulders tense with stress.
“I-I’ll rejoin the League,” you whispered out, feeling the hold Shigaraki had on you loosen.
It was tearing you up inside to see Kirishima so bruised and hurt on the ground-you focused on the signs of him breathing, his broad chest rising and falling as he struggled to push himself back up. That small evidence gave you courage, your heart racing as you will yourself to continue with the plan you had secretly been concocting this whole time.
You grunted, a sly smirk erupting on your face.
“After I do this-“
You swiftly grabbed Shigarakis arm, twisting it in an excruciating position behind his back. He yelled out in pain, a string of curses filling the night as you rammed your fist into his chest, sending the air out of his lungs. He stumbled dramatically, dry coughs spewing out of his lungs as his knees hit the floor.
“You no longer have power over me-none of you do,” you stood defiantly in that alleyway, watching your ex comrades stare at you in shock and awe. In all your time with the LOV, you had never defied them. Not once. You were always so obedient, which was why Shigaraki loved to have you around as a n asset to his team-you were so easy to keep around his finger.
But now you were clearly being rebellious, your stony face telling the whole group you had changed-you didn’t give a damn about their threats and their rules anymore. You wouldn’t be coming back.
A burst of fear and extreme annoyance flooded Shigarakis' system, the pain of your kick aiding fuel to the flame. He growled, a curse directed at you dribbling from his lips as his thin legs wobbled his body weight up. His mouth opened to send you another string of curses, ready to unleash his full wrath on you for embarrassing him so much, until a characteristic siren filled the night air.
Kirishima propped himself onto his knees, a tried grin gracing his bruising lips.
“I wouldn’t do that if I were you-“
His hand lifted, showing the whole group a small contraption in his hand. In the darkness of the alleyway it was hard to tell what it was, but it seemed Kirishima was holding a phone, a route to your location lighting up the screen.
“My mentor gave all us heroes-in-training a tracker, just in case we get into any trouble. While you were blabbering on about plans, I sent the heroes our location.”
Kirishima smiled triumphantly at the fearful faces of Shigaraki’s comrades, Shigarakis own fave contorted in rage.
The sirens were slowly getting louder, the colors of blue and red dancing lightly against the stony walls of the alley way.
“So unless you wanna get caught by the heroes,” he added in, his tone surprisingly friendly, “ I suggest you go.”
Shigaraki seemed waver, trying to see if he could still get you back under the terrible circumstances. But the cops were practically here, the sounds of car doors slamming being heard. He had to admit it to himself-he lost this battle. He gave you one last scornful look, his bloody irises sending a shiver down your spine as he took off with his comrades, not leaving a trace.
You could already hear the police officers stepping out of their cars, fear flooding your stomach. Even though you had just defied the League, you were still a criminal. You had been doing illegal activities for months now-hell, you just stole a girls wallet 15 minutes ago and it was still in your damn pocket.
Even though a part of you was screaming for you to run as well, you fought off that flight response in order to help Kirishima off the floor.
His skin still feels warm, your hands making sure not to touch the tender parts of his skin from his fight. Even though he was smiling, you could tell he was in some pain. Your worst fear was already being realized-he got hurt over you. For you. You could never repay him for that, the guilt seeping into your core.
“Kiri are you okay? Please tell me you are,” you pushed out, the tone of your voice desperate and pleading. “I’m so sorry-“
Kirishima looked up, his vermillion eyes as bright as ever as he caresses your cheek, sweeping the single tear off your face.
“For what? You did nothing wrong y/n, you don’t have to be so sad over me-this is my job after all!” He chuckled, trying to lighten the mood as you began to help him stand up. He was slightly wobbly on his feet but seemed to be doing just fine.
He gave you a small smile, a hint of worry in his eyes as he heard footsteps coming behind him.
“Just-let me do the talking, Kay?” He waited for you to give him a nod, his hands giving yours a gentle squeeze.
“Do you still have the wallet you stole?”
“The-? Oh, yeah, I do,” you stated quickly, the wallet resurfacing in your mind as you rummaged in your jacket, pulling it out and shoving it into his hand.
“Thanks,” he smiled at you, his cheeks warm as he faltered for the smallest second.
It was evident he wanted to lean in and kiss you-the way he stared at your lips was quite evident and brought a blush to your cheeks.
But Kirishima was still on duty, and couldn’t be so openly romantic when he was in his hero suit as well being approached by law enforcement. He instead opted to kiss your cheek, the smooth skin of his lips warming your whole body as he walked over to greet the police officer.
Kirishima has spoke to the police officer for quite a while, a few others watching close behind as they surveyed you. You felt strange, standing there so alone as you watched Kirishima talk to the officer so warmly.
You didn’t know what he was saying, or what he was doing, but you were hoping he was somehow sweet talking the officers. You watched him point to you at one point, his warm smile assuring your terrified face as the officer looked you up and down tentatively.
He motioned you to come over, as if trying to get a frightened animal to come near him. You followed his command, your steps hesitant as you approached the two men.
The officer face was hardened until he saw the look of terror on your face, his expression softening slightly.
“This is her?” He asked gruffly, turning to Kirishima.
“Yes,” he nodded his head in confirmation. “The LOV have been brainwashing her for their plans-she has intel the heroes could use to our advantage. Fat Gum’s agency needs her straight away in order to get that info from her. I promise we will get her in the system and any other information you may need on file.”
The officer gave you two a long look, sighing as he scratched his chin.
“Alright,” he complied, a huge smile erupting on Kirishimas face. “You two need a ride? You look pretty messed up.”
Kirishima gave a small chuckle, scratching the back of his head. “Uh-yeah, THAT'D be pretty nice actually-“
After the small car ride to Fat Gum’s agency, you had helped Kirishima out of the car and to Fat Gum’s office at the top floor. It seemed like someone had already alerted Fat Gum to Kirishima's arrival, because you two were instantly met by the pro hero with worried eyes once you reached his office.
“God Kirishima you had me so worried for a second!” He yelled, striding over to the bruised hero, “that receptionist really made it sound like you were in need of medical attention or something-“
“I’m fine Fat, you don’t gotta worry about me!” Kirishima said good naturedly, his perfect teeth glistening in the fluorescent lights. “I actually have some things I need your help with-“
“You definitely do if you're bringing a civilian into the office,” FatGum stared down at you with a warm smile, your heart beating guiltily. It was strange to see the hero in normal clothing in not in his larger form, his stature so much smaller it seemed from his usually large frame.
“The names Fat, but you can call me Taishiro!” He held out his hand in front of you, his bright personality radiating off of him, “and you are-“
“I-I’m y/n, sir,” you said hesitantly, taking your smaller hand in his. He was just as warm as Kirishima, like a bright ball of sun.
No wonder Kirishima interned with Fatgum-he was just like him. Bright, fun, kind. Everything you so dearly craved for in your life, but couldn't quite grasp.
“I’m sorry, I’m not a civilian-I’m a criminal, a Villian,” you muttered sadly, your head hanging low, “well, I was-“
Fat Gum gave Kirishima a confused look, his happy exterior dropping slightly.
“She was being forced to be a Villain by Shigaraki,” Kirishima quickly stepped forward, his tone serious as he defended you. “She wanted to leave the LOV, but they were threatening her.
“She didn’t do anything wrong-she just wanted to protect herself and the people around her.”
Fat Gum scratched the side of his cheek, his eyes lost in thought.
“Well Thats a strange situation to be in-I’m assuming you two know each other?”
You looked at Kirishima, red blossoming your cheeks just like his.
Maybe it wasn’t the best time to tell his mentor that you had dramatically broke up with Kirishima over 3 months ago.
“We uh-“ Kirishima started, his voice wavering in uncertainty.
“We were classmates,” you chided in quickly, “I went to UA along with Kirishima, but the LOV forced me to leave the school.”
Fat Gum nodded his head, a sigh escaping his lips. “So-you’ve been working as a Villain, but against your will?”
You nodded your head, your breath caught in your throat as you awaited for the hero's reaction to this news of your true identity.
“This will get a little fuzzy legal wise, especially if people are looking for you-some may not trust what you say, even if you left the League and do everything in your power to change their minds.”
“Don’t worry though, I believe you,” the hero placed his hand in your shoulder, giving it a reassuring squeeze. “I believe Red Riot full heartedly in his perception of others and I’m pretty good at reading people too. I can tell youre not what the League tried to make you into.”
He sent you a warm grin, making you feel safe for what had felt like a long time.
“Would you be willing to answer questions about the League? about how they operate, how large they are, their plans-“
“Yes, anything to end them and help the heroes,” you answered quickly, your tone set in determination, “I’d be willing to do all of it.”
“Well that settles it!” Fat Gum said happily, the smile back on his face. “Tomorrow we’ll start talking to you about your experience with the League-but you two seem to need a well deserved nap.”
“Why don’t you keep her in your apartment Kirishima?” FatGum turned to the hero, Kirishimas dusted in pink by the proposition. “Shell feel
a little more comfortable since you're someone she knows, and she’s also close to the agency.”
Fat Gum gave you a soft smile, his eyes filled with reassurance. “Heroes will be around all day and all night, so nobody can come in and out.”
It surprised you how intuitive the hero was-he knew exactly how you were feeling.
Even though you knew it was foolish, you still felt that somehow the League would find you and try to bring you back. You had clearly defied them, and it scared you that they be trying to get their revenge.
But Fatgums charming smile was so reassuring and welcoming, you couldn’t give him a small smile back.
“I think I can manage that arrangement.”
“Good then,” he gave you two one last smile, ushering you two out the door, “make sure to get some rest-tomorrow will definitely be a long day. Make sure those injuries are doing well too, alright?”
You both gave the hero a curt response, turning your backs from the now closed doors.
Kirishima's heart began to beat intensely, his stomach filling with butterflies.
You had agreed to stay in his room? God, if someone had told him a few hours ago you’d be staying the night with him, he’d wouldn’t believe it for a second. But now this was happening, and he couldn’t be more ecstatic or nervous.
He stared at your profile, not missing the dusting of red on your cheeks-you were nervous too? It made him feel a little better inside, a small smile gracing his lips as he stretched out his hand.
“You ready?”
You looked down at the outstretched sha s in front of you, taking his palm in yours tentatively.
“Ready as I’ll ever be,”
He lead you through the agency, taking an elevator a few levels down in order to get to the apartments specifically for the heroes in training.
It was a short trip, but the fatigue that wa a beginning to hit your body was making it feel so much longer. The adrenaline rush you had felt all night was wearing off, your eyes fluttering as you will yourself to stay awake.
Kirishima noticed your sleepy state, a small chuckle escaping from his chest.
“You feeling tired?”
“Just-a little,” you yawned out, wrapping your hands around your body.
“Don’t worry-were almost at my place,” he gave you a sweet smile, his hands outstretched for yours as the elevator door opened. You took it gratefully, letting him lead you to his door as he opened it with ease.
You stepped inside, adjusting from the darkness as you took in the sight in front of you.
The room smelled of him-the warm and musky scent ofhis cologne lingering in the air. It was almost teasing you with its memories, a wave of comfort washing over you as you recalled all the times you buried your nose into his neck and smelled his scent.
His room was pretty neat, surprisingly, his desk organized and his walls decorated with a few posters. You recognized some from his old room at UA-a Crimson Riot, his favorite band, and even a calendar he used to use frequently.
Some areas of his room signaled the busy life of his work stidy, his unmade bed strewn with clothing he had hastily ripped off, a small pile of clothes in a pile and his laptop charging in a corner of the room.
Kirishima cursed himself as he looked around the room, painstakingly noticing every little detail and mess, hating how he hadn’t cleaned up his room that day.
“Sorry for the mess, I didn’t expect to have anyone,” he chuckled nervously, already going around and picking up his things.
“It’s fine-I like it,”
You were speaking the truth when you said it-you liked how it was so him, showing a glimpse into his daily life. It was warm and comforting, even residential, to see him in his day to day life.
“You do?”
You hummed a “yes”, feeling your heart beat fast when Kirishima closed the gap between you two, his palms gently grasping your arms. He breathed in a deep sigh, holding you close.
“God, you don’t know how much I missed you,” he sighed out breathlessly.
“I missed you too Kiri,” you looked down, old guilt resurfacing inside you, “I’m still sorry for being so-so mean to you-I should have just told you the truth, I shouldn't have lied-“
Kirishima smiled softly, lifting your chin with his finger.
“Don’t worry about that! That was in the past-now it’s just you and me, kay? You don’t have to worry about any of that, now”
He gave you a long look, sorry buried in his brows as you ran his fingers along your skin, feeling the bags under your eyes. You inhaled a deep breath, loving the electricity Kirishima set into your skin just from his touch.
“You really are tired, huh?” He asked quietly, his voice husky from exhaustion himself.
“And you're not?” You gave him a quirky smile, making him blush with a chuckle.
“Well, I didn’t say that,” he gave you a small grin, his hands returning back to their spots on your arms.
“Do you wanna sleep? You can take the bed if you want-I know it’s not made, but I can sleep on the couch if you’d like-“
“I want to sleep with you,” you replied softly, your eyes widening once you realized what you had just said.
You wanted to sleep with him? God, you sounded so perverted!
“I-I mean I want to go to bed with you-I didnt mean-I just didn’t want to make you sleep somewhere else, since this your room-“
Kirishima's face was incredibly red, but the smile was still plastered on his face.
“Oh it’s alright, I really don’t mind either way.“
He pulled himself away from you gently, as he began searching through his dresser for some clothes.
“So-bed together?”
“Yup!” You replied back, popping the p as You sat on the unmade bed, your fingers dragging against the plus fabric as Kirishima turned around, sitting in front of you as he handed you one of his shirts.
“I know you don’t have any pajamas, so you can wear one of my shirts until we get you some clothes.”
“Mm, sounds good,” you smiled tenderly, loving how close he was as you ran your hands through his hair.
He sighed into your touch as he nuzzled into your skin, his breath warm against your skin.
He sat there for a few moments, finally rising sluggish and slow.
“Gotta move-or I’ll fall asleep right there,” he chuckled, walking over to the front of his closet. He began to take off the pieces of his hero suit, the large gears on his arms hitting the floor with a thud.
You admired how broad his shoulders were, the way his muscles rippled so evidently as he moved his bones to his will. He was so perfectly built, you could t help but drool at the firmness of his skin.
“Having fun over there?,” he turned around, a shit eating grin plastered on his face as he undid the belt around his waist.
“Just a little,” you gave him a small grin, hear flooding your face as you held the shirt close to your chest.
“You can go change in the bathroom if you’d like-you don’t have to stay out here if you’re not comfortable,”
“And what if I am?”
You laughed at the clearly evident blush on his cheeks, his face trying to hide the rush of embarrassment.
“Your a handful,” he chuckled, his hand running through his hair nervously.
He knew you were joking, and you two had only sorta, maybe gotten back together lass than an hour ago-but damn if he wasn’t nervous and excited by you being so flirtatious-in his room.
For the rest of the night.
You gave him one last smile before you disappeared into the bathroom, your hands closing the door gently.
God, it felt so nice to be in his arms again, to feel safe and warm. You had missed the fluttering feeling Kirishima gave you, like you could fly away  at any moment and you could care less. You brought your nose to the cloth of the worn shirt, the powerful smell of his detergent and cologne washing over you. It was so comforting, a nostalgic feeling filling your body as you remembered how much you missed his scent.
You quickly stripped of your clothes, happy to be free of the uncomfortable garments finally. Since Kirishima didn’t hand you any shorts to wear, you decided to only wear the shirt he had given you over your underwear. The softness of the shirt felt so relaxing against your tired skin, almost like getting a hug from the boy himself. You smiled a deep sigh, happy to see that the shirt was long enough to at least cover your underwear from plan view and you splashed your face with some cold water, rinsing away all the fears from tonight.
You would have a long day tomorrow answering questions about the League-you could at least give yourself tonight to forget and be worry free.
Kirishima was hastily changing before you came out of the bathroom, dreading the idea of you seeing him half naked as he swapped out of his hero suit. He opted to wear something comfortable, grey sweatpants and an old black tshirt, his body running frantically to clean his room. Now that he got the chance to properly clean his room, he was a mad man trying to make it to his liking. He shoved clothes into his closet, made his bed, even hiding cords under his bed.
If you were going to be in his room, he was at least going to give off some impression of him being neat.
He was now laying on his newly made bed, his hands occupied with checking his phone as he heard the bathroom door opening, your footsteps soft on the carpet of his room.
He looked up, a question about to fall from his lips until his mind went completely blank at the sight of you.
There you were, standing in his room, looking as beautiful as ever wearing his shirt and nothing else. He couldn't help but stare at your legs, worshipping the curves as his mouth was agape from awe.
He didn’t fully prepare himself at the sight of you in his clothes, but god did you wear them so perfectly-
“You okay Kiri?” You gave a nervous laugh, striding over to the bed, settling your knees on the plush comforter.
The shirt road up from the movement t, showing more of those pretty thighs of yours that made him practically drool.
“Ne-never been better!” He tried to compose himself, his voice rising slightly.
God, he needed to get ahold of himself.
“You look pretty comfy,” he gave a small comment on your outfit, loving how bashful you look at the comment.
“Of course I am,” you replied back, crawling over to his side of the bed. He gulped at the sight of you coming so close to him, “I’m in your clothes after all.”
You sat your body next to Kirishima, your hand finding his as your other lightly rested on his stomach.
“You know, I’ve always thought you looked good in anything,” he smiled, his eyes dark like wine, “but you wearing my clothes-you looked best in that,”
“Really?” You gave the boy a shit eating grin, knowing full well you were playing a dangerous game now.
This night could end in two different scenarios: one could complicate things, and one could really complicate things.
You’d take the latter, if he was willing.
You shifted your body around him, straddling his waist as his shirt rode up, exposing your thighs even more.
“And what about when they're not on?”
Kirishima's heart beat at an insane pace in his chest-was this wrong to do? He didn’t know and frankly, he didn’t care at that moment.
He returned the smile, his hands traveling underneath the soft shirt.
“Even better.”

A Drunken Promise (Kuroken Week Day 4)
Fourth post for Kuroken Week 2018! The prompts for today are Wrong Number or Actors/Voice Actors AU. I chose Wrong Number. I wasn’t quite sure how to interpret this besides prank calling during sleepovers, so I decided to do something along those lines and have Kuroo call Kenma, who Oikawa (yes, he makes an appearance) said he shouldn’t try and contact.
Title: A Drunken Promise
Prompt(s): Wrong Number or Actors/Voice Actors AU
Summary: Kuroo is at Oikawa’s place for a guy’s night out and is told to prank call a random person on Oikawa’s phone. He ends up dialing said number and winds up talking with a relatively annoyed (and confused) Kenma.
One-Shot Notes: Kenma and Kuroo are strangers in this one-shot; Kenma and Hinata are roommates; Kenma and Oikawa know each other
One-shot is under the cut!
Kuroo was giggling helplessly in between sips of his beer as Bokuto finished shouting out the lyrics to I’ll Make a Man Out of You.
“Bro, you sound weird.” he commented.
“Not as weird as you! You keep giggling n’ shit.” Bokuto pointed out.
Kuroo giggled again as he downed his tenth can of beer.
“See?! Stop fricking giggling!” Bokuto complained.
“Let him! It’s rare that we get to unwind like this.” Daichi said as he finished off his third can of beer.
“I get thaaaaaaaaaaaat!” Bokuto drawled out as Oikawa emerged from the kitchen.
“I literally can’t believe I’m the only one who isn’t as shit-faced as the rest of you.” he commented, placing more beer cans on the coffee table.
“That’s cuz you’re a wimp!” Kuroo chirped.
“I am not a wimp!” Oikawa complained.
“No, it’s because his alcohol tolerance is abnormally high. He could down forty of these and not be wasted.” Daichi stated.
“That’s a little bit of an exaggeration.” Oikawa reached for a can and cracked it open. “And also, I can only drink up to ten of these before getting wasted!” he declared before downing the beer.
“Sure, sure.” Kuroo hiccuped as he reached for another can.
Bokuto dipped on his beer as he rocked back and forth.
“Yo, we should make some prank calls.” he suggested.
“Yes! Let’s do it!” Kuroo shouted as he pumped his fist into the air.
“I’m down with that.” Daichi said.
He looked over at Oikawa.
“Well? What about you?” he asked.
Oikawa shrugged.
“I guess it couldn’t hurt. But, if someone reports us, you all are on your own.” he stated.
“Cool! Then, Kuroo should go first!” Bokuto said.
“Alright, if you say so.” Kuroo replied.
“Have at it. I need to head to the restroom.” Oikawa said as he stood up and he began to make his way to the bathroom.
“Don’t die!” Daichi called out.
Oikawa blew a raspberry before disappearing into the bathroom.
“Now then...” Bokuto reached for Oikawa’s phone, which was sitting atop the couch arm, and he unlocked it. “Call a random number in his contacts.” he said, throwing the phone in Kuroo’s direction.
Kuroo tried to grab it, but it slipped through his fingers and onto his lap. He hiccuped as he picked up the phone and began scrolling through Oikawa’s contacts.
“Hm...I’m gonna do this one.” he said as he tapped on a name.
“Ooooh, that one? Alright.” Bokuto replied.
Kuroo tapped on the call button and he brought the phone to his ear, listening to it ring. At that moment, Oikawa stepped out of the bathroom.
“Alright, I’m ba—What the hell is he doing with my phone?!” Oikawa screeched as he stormed over to the couch.
“He’s prank calling someone using your phone, why?” Daichi replied.
“And you didn’t stop him because?!” Oikawa asked.
“Why can’t he? It’s just your phone. It’s not like you’ll die if he calls someone using your phone.” Daichi stated.
“Ugh, you’re hopeless!” he looked at Bokuto. “Did you at least see who he’s calling?” he asked.
“Uh...I think it’s someone named Kenma...?” Bokuto answered uncertainly.
“Are you kidding me?! I would be okay if it was Iwa-chan, but why Pudding-chan?!” Oikawa exclaimed.
“Why? What’s wrong with Kuroo phoning this Kenma person?” Bokuto asked.
“Kenma hates it when people call him, especially when he’s in the middle of homework!” Oikawa pointed out.
He marched over to snatch the phone from Kuroo.
And then, the call connected.
❤️🖤❤️🖤
Kenma tapped the tip of his mechanical pencil against the math worksheet before him as his room door swung open.
“Kenma! Are you done with homework?” a chirpy voice called out.
Kenma sighed.
“First of all, knock before you enter, Shouyou. And no, I’m not even close.” Kenma replied.
Shouyou made his way over to Kenma and peeked at the worksheet from over Kenma’s shoulder.
“Ew, that looks super complicated.” he commented.
“I know. It’s also hard to understand.” Kenma said.
“Should I call Tobio over? He could help you with it.” Shouyou offered.
“No, it’s fine. I’ll probably be able to understand it if I flip through the textbook a little.” Kenma said.
“Alright, If you say so.” Shouyou turned around and he headed towards the door. “Well, make sure you come out for dinner soon! I ordered takeout.” he said.
“Alright.” Kenma replied as Shouyou disappeared into the hall, closing the door behind him.
Kenma sighed, placing his mechanical pencil down and reaching for his backpack. Before he could unzip it, he heard his phone vibrating against the table.
“Huh...?” he murmured softly as he sat back up and grabbed for his phone.
He frowned upon seeing Oikawa’s name flashing across the screen.
“Why is he calling me? I thought I told him not to do that.” he stated.
Unless he’s shit-faced, he thought to himself.
He sighed deeply before answering it and bringing the phone to his ear.
“Yes?” he answered.
He was met with the sound of Oikawa shouting something along the lines of, “Give that back!” as a voice he didn’t recognize reached his ears.
“Hi~!” the person on the other end hiccuped before bursting into giggles.
Kenma arched a brow at this.
What the literal hell, he asked himself.
“Um...you’re definitely not Oikawa.” he stated.
“Nope! I sure ain’t that whiny loser!”
“So, who exactly are you?”
“My name? It’s—hic!—Kuroo! Ya know, it’s like Kuro, but with an extra ‘o’ at the end.”
“Uh...alright then...”
“Sooooooo...how’s your evening goin’ so far?”
“It was going well until you called me. I was doing my homework.”
“Homework?! That shit’s booooooooring!”
Kenma’s eyebrow twitched.
Okay, this Kuro guy is totally shit-faced. Why the hell did Oikawa let him use his phone, he asked himself.
“Look, uh...Kuro, right?” he spoke.
“It’s not Kuro! It’s Kuroo!”
Kenma narrowed his eyes at that statement.
They sound the same to me, he told himself.
“Okay, yeah, whatever. Kuro, can you give the phone to Oikawa? I need to talk to him.” he said.
“No! Absolutely not!”
“...And why not?”
“Because yer supposed to be talkin’ with me, not him!”
“Look, I need to talk to him, so if you could please—“
“Nuh-uh!”
“Kuro, give the phone to—“
“Nada!”
“Give him the—“
“Don’t wanna~!”
“Look, I really need to talk to—“
“Aaaaaagh, it’s Oikawa this, Oikawa that! The hell is so great about him, anyway?! He’s a spoiled brat who’s too arrogant for his own damn good! The only good thing about him is that he has a nice ass!”
Kenma blinked his eyes in surprise.
Just what the hell did he get himself dragged into?
“Uh...what?” he questioned.
He reached to put a stick of gum into his mouth, chewing slowly as Kuroo spoke.
“Actually, what even is your relationship with him?! Are you his boyfriend or suthin’?”
Kenma nearly choked on his gum in shock.
Boyfriend?! his mind screamed in shock.
“H-Huh?! No! Oikawa and I don’t have a relationship like that!” he exclaimed.
“Whaaaaaaaaat? But it totally seems that way, seeing how you keep askin’ for ‘im...”
“No, we are not dating. We just go to the same college, that’s all. I help him with volleyball practice sometimes. That’s literally all.”
“Ah...well, that’s good. I was gunna be upset if that wasn’t the case.”
“And why exactly would you be upset?”
“Well...I mean...someone like you doesn’t deserve to be with someone like him...”
“...Could you please elaborate? I’m not sure I quite follow...”
Kenma couldn’t believe he was actually doing this. Why was he so curious to hear what this stranger thought?
He listened to Kuroo hiccuping a little before speaking.
“...I think you’re cute.”
Kenma’s cheeks flushed red at Kuroo’s statement. His heart began racing rapidly as he tried to regain his composure.
“Th...That’s very out of the blue, where did that come from?” he asked.
“My thoughts, duuuuuuh! What’s wrong with me thinking you’re cute? Has no one ever told you that before?”
“I have literally never met you. How could you possibly know what I look like and be able to determine if I’m...” Kenma brought his bottom lip in between his teeth. “...cute or not...” he mumbled.
“I dun’ have to meet you to know that. I just...have this feeling you are. Like...I imagine you’re this really cute person who radiates positive energy everywhere you go...”
Kenma snorted.
“Yeah, right.” he stated.
“But it’s true! You can’t change my mind! I think you’re really, really, reeeeeeeeeeeeally cute!”
“I...I’m not cute!” Kenma complained, his cheeks reddening more.
“Yes, you are!”
“I am not!”
“Are too!”
“Are not!”
“Are too!”
“Are not!”
“Are too!”
“Are not!”
“Stop denying it and embrace your cuteness!”
Kenma heard Kuroo sigh on the other end.
“You know...I wish I were by you right now.”
“Why is that?”
“So that I could kiss you.”
Kenma sputtered in shock, the phone nearly slipping out of his hands. He tried to form coherent sentences, but it was proving hard to do so when Kuroo’s words kept replaying in his head.
This drunk idiot actually said he wants to kiss me. He wants to kiss me! This is weird! So weird! he thought to himself.
“Wh-Why the heck do you want to kiss me all of a sudden?!” he exclaimed.
He must’ve shouted loudly, for there was a knock at his bedroom door.
“Hey, is everything okay in there?” he heard Shouyou call out to him.
“Huh? Uh...yeah! Yeah, everything’s okay!” Kenma responded.
He looked over at the door, silently praying that Shouyou wouldn’t open it and walk in.
“Why are you asking?” he asked.
“It’s just that I heard loud shouting coming from your room, so...” Shouyou trailed off.
“You don’t have to worry. I’m fine.” Kenma replied.
“If you say so...” Shouyou murmured.
He listened to Shouyou walk away from his room door and sighed in relief.
Oh thank goodness. If he came in and saw me on the phone, he’d never let me hear the end of it, he thought to himself.
“Cuz I wanna!” Kuroo’s voice pulled him out of his thoughts. “Also, who da heck were you talkin’ to?”
“Ah...that was my roommate...” Kenma trailed off.
“Roommate, huh...lucky them. I wish I were your roommate...” Kenma listened as Kuroo breathed out a sigh. “If I were your roommate...I’d call you cute and buy you presents and cuddle with you and kiss you every chance I got...”
Kenma swore his face was as red as a rose at this point.
“W-Well, you’re not, so too bad...” he trailed off.
“Now I’m envious of your roommate. I wanna be by your side all day and night...”
“You obviously don’t. You’re drunk, after all.”
“What if I’m serious?”
“Huh?”
“What if I’m being serious with you? What if I actually want to be by your side and do all those things with you?”
Kenma bit his bottom lip as he mulled over Kuroo’s words.
Maybe Kuroo was being serious, maybe he wasn’t. Kenma found himself wishing that he was being serious. Yes, Kuroo was a stranger to him, but for some reason, his words made his heart flutter.
Kenma reached up and smacked himself.
Kenma, don’t be an idiot. First off, he’s drunk off his ass. There is no way he’s telling the truth. Also, why the hell is your heart going aflutter?! What are you, a goddamn schoolgirl?! he asked himself.
He smacked himself a second time in order to regain his composure before clearing his throat to speak.
“Kuro, you are drunk. How can I possibly believe anything you say?” he asked.
“You have to.”
“But, I can’t just do tha—“
“You have to believe it. Because it’s the truth.”
“I can’t just—“
“Marry me.”
Kenma blinked his eyes twice in surprise, wondering if he heard him right.
He didn’t just say what I think he said, did he, he asked himself.
“...Come again?” he asked.
“I said marry me.”
He did! his mind screamed.
The blush began spreading to his ears as he found it in him to speak.
“A...Are you crazy?! How could you suggest such a thing?! We’re strangers, for crying out loud! We can’t just up and get—“
“Yeah, we can!”
“No, we can’t! Also, you don’t even know me—“
“Yeah, I do! I mean, we’ve been talking, haven’t we? I feel like I know enough about you...Kenma...”
Kenma’s heart skipped a beat at the way Kuroo said his name.
“I...”
“Marry me, Kenmaaaaaaaaa!”
“I’m sorry, I really can’t! I don’t know you well enough to—“
“If that’s what you’re worried about, then I can tell you everything about me! So, my name is Kuroo Tetsurou, my birthday is on November 17th, and I—“
“Not like that! We need to actually meet each other and get to know each other! We have to see if we’re compatible with one another before deciding if we should get married or not! You at least understand that much, don’t you?”
“...So, if I do these things, then I can marry you?”
Kenma let out an exasperated sigh.
“I can’t believe I’m saying this, but yes. You can marry me if you do those things.” he said.
There was a long pause on the other end. Kenma began wondering if Kuroo either passed out or was trying to come up with an answer. Then, he heard him speak.
“Okay! Then, I’ll try my very best to win you over so that I can marry you!”
That was when he heard Oikawa shouting at Kuroo to get off the phone and another voice (it sounded an awful lot like Daichi) saying that he could continue the conversation another time.
“Wait! Don’t take the phone from me just yet! I have something I need to tell Kenma!”
“Goodness gracious, Kuroo, that’s enough! Stop hitting on Pudding-chan before I hit you!” Oikawa shouted.
“Shut it, Mister Perfect Ass!” Kuroo shouted back.
Kenma heard Oikawa let out a dramatic gasp as Kuroo’s voice reached Kenma’s ears once more.
“Seems like I gotta go. Buuuuuuut, before I do, I need to tell you something.”
“Okay...what is it?”
“...I love you.”
Kenma sucked in a gasp, his cheeks growing even warmer as his heart raced faster. He tried to formulate a response, but before he could, Kuroo hung up.
He slowly removed the phone from his ear, looking to see that he spent almost fifty minutes on the phone with him.
“What the heck...? That’s the longest I’ve ever been on the phone with someone...” he trailed off.
He then looked at the time and saw that it was nine twenty.
“I should go and eat...” he muttered under his breath.
He sat up from his seat by his desk, pocketing his phone in his sweat pants pocket and making his way over to the door. He opened it to come face to face with Shouyou, who had a goofy grin on his face.
“Soooooooo...it seems like someone’s been busy with wedding planning.” he commented.
“Wha...?! You heard me?!” Kenma exclaimed in shock.
“Yeah! Kenma, I am shocked and also very disappointed! I figured you would be the least likely to be thinking about marriage, but here we are!” Shouyou pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. “You could’ve at least involved me in the planning process...” he mumbled.
“I am not getting married to anyone. Actually, how long were you standing out here?” Kenma asked.
“Uh...from when you were telling that person that you two were strangers and that you can’t just up and get married to a stranger?” Shouyou answered uncertainly.
Kenma let out a loud groan.
“Pretend you heard nothing.” he said before storming past him and heading down the hall.
“I can’t just do that!” he chased after Kenma. “Come on! At least tell me what your future husband is like!” he called out.
“I told you, I am not getting married!” Kenma shouted back as he entered the kitchen.
As he began dishing food out into a plate, he couldn’t help but let his thoughts drift back to Kuroo.
“...I love you.” Kuroo’s words danced around in his mind.
His cheeks flushed red as he thought back on the conversation and how Kuroo promised he would try and win him over.
“Okay! Then, I’ll try my very best to win you over so that I can marry you!”
A soft smile touched Kenma’s lips.
He couldn’t help but look forward to what might happen next.

Can I make a fanfiction request of the diamonds celebrating their wedding night? 😊
OK, so I kinda went a little overboard with this one. I covered pretty much all the wedding, so it’s a bit more than just their wedding night. (BTW it’s SFW. I’m not sure if I’m gonna write NSFW yet for this fandom, so I hope you don’t mind the PG-13 vibe). And as much as I love polydiamonds, it’s hard for me to write them since we don’t know what White and Pink are like yet, so excuse any vagueness that may occur. However, please feel free to send in some polydiamond prompts or any other Diamond couples. I can’t write too much right now cause of finals coming up, but I’ll definitely try to fill some prompts out. :) Enjoy! (PS. Excuse any typos it’s late and I’m lazy)
Originally, the idea had been pitched by the gem hybrid, who had happily told the newly restored Diamond Authority of the human ceremony.
“What exactly would be the significance of this ‘wedding?’” Yellow had a skeptical look in her eyes, but still tried to listen to what the young Steven had to say, “And why would it benefit us when we’re not even on Earth?”
“Well,” Steven nervously smiled up at the four diamonds seated in front of him. “I know that part of the deal was that you would all abolish the caste system and try to incorporate more modern ideals of society throughout the gem empire if I restored Pink Diamond’s gem.” He hastily held his hands up, “Which don’t get me wrong, you’ve all done wonderfully at. However, this ceremony is kinda considered sacred to a lot of people on Earth. Including the gems who’ve moved there and fell in love. It would be a good way to show your dedication to the pact if you four did it yourselves.”
“It’s not a bad idea,” White murmured. “However, you are among the very few who know the exact details of the relationship we as diamonds have. If we performed this ceremony, then everyone in the empire will know.” She pursed her lips, “I’m not sure it’s a good idea.”
“But isn’t it about time we came out?” Blue sighed and looked towards where White sat, “We’ve been hiding for millennia. And with the way society is changing right now, maybe it’s for the better if we made our relationship public. At the very least, it will show us in a more relatable light to the rest of gem kind, since even we fall in love just as others do.”
“No.” The voice cut through the room like a knife through butter, and everyone turned in Pink Diamond’s direction, as the matriarch decided to speak up, “If we do the ceremony, we have to do it for the right reasons. Maybe Blue’s right, maybe it is time we came out. However, this ceremony means more than just a publicity stunt. It’s a declaration of love and commitment for all to see. It shows your dedication to your partner, or in our case partners. I will not go through with it if it is used as simply another form of propaganda.” She looked pointedly at each of her lovers, “After everything that’s happened, all the time I spent on Earth for my recovery. The only thing I would want out of this would be the happiness I get from being with the gems I love.”
Steven made a noise of approval before looking over at the other diamonds. Yellow and Blue seemed to think it over for a moment, before sharing a look and nodding in agreement, “For love then.”
Pink clapped her hands together near her mouth, smiling widely as she turned to White.
The eldest of the four diamonds seemed lost in thought, staring down at her lap as she pondered the situation.
There was a tense silence, and for a minute Steven was scared she would reject the idea.
“In all my existence,” White seemed to struggle with her words, emotions making it hard to articulate what she was feeling. “I’ve never loved as much as I’ve loved with you three. If this is done for love, then I suppose I would be a coward to turn away from it.”
A rare smile graced her lips and she looked down at Steven, “Very well. We will do as you suggest and have a wedding.”
“I suppose then we’ll actually need to learn what we’ll need for the ceremony,” Yellow drawled as she leaned back in her seat. “Considering it is a foreign tradition, and we’re certainly no experts.”
“I’ve learned some things about it during my stay on Earth,” Pink beamed at her lovers. “And there are hundreds of books and planners for this type of thing on the planet. It would be no problem to educate ourselves on what to expect.”
“Oh! Oh!” Steven jumped excitedly, “I can be the officiator. You know, the one who pronounces you all married! They have lots of stuff on that!”
“I see no problem with that,” Blue chuckled as Pink hurriedly agreed and Yellow shrugged. “As long as you don’t embarrass me.”
White was the last to speak up, sighing as she fell back into her chair, “Why the hell not?”
~~~~
The ceremony hadn’t been as much of a pain as they’d originally thought. Several planners had been contracted from Earth and smoothed out the schedule for the wedding, although they’d certainly been surprised when they saw there were four brides to be.
Not to mention the fact that they were also 30 foot tall aliens.
Besides the initial shock, everything else ran smoothly. Decorations were set up, food was ordered for the humans and gems who choose to eat, and the venue was magnificent to behold.
The only real issue occurred when Yellow freaked out when she learned they’d have to kiss in front of pretty much all of Homeworld and Earth.
Luckily, the ceremony was short, sweet, and to the point.
Leaving only the wild reception to occur afterwards.
A reception which hosted hundreds, if not thousands, of guests.
Clearly, it became apparent this wasn’t to be one of the prim and proper balls Homeworld was previously used to.
Pink howled with laughter as the Famethyst took the dance floor, watching as her precious gems danced and roughhoused with each other, putting on quite the show for everyone watching.
The Crystal Gems were seated off to the side of where the newlyweds table was located. Looking closely, there were even several humans within the group. Including the swordfighter, Connie, and the resurrected human Lars.
As the subjects of honor, the Diamonds were seated on a raised platform a few feet above everyone else- ensuring everyone would hopefully be able to get a look at the four gems.
They were all dressed lavishly in elaborate dresses- even Yellow, who had threw the mother of all fits about it.
However in the end she relented, and with their pearls acting as bridesmaids- the four Diamonds had a wedding to remember.
Blue giggled loudly as White whispered something in her ear, mirth dancing in her eyes. Pink continued cheering on the Famethysts as they continued their wild dances, throwing in some suggestions every other second.
Yellow was simply looking at the crowd that had gathered around the dance floor, scanning their faces and naming all the ones she recognized.
Her eyes drifted to the dancing quartzes when loud cheers alerted her to Steven and the human girl Connie joining the fray, watching as they spun around each other in some kind of dance.
“It’s nice isn’t it,” Pink’s voice broke her concentration. “Seeing all of them so happy. Being able to look in their eyes without fear on their part.” She hummed quietly to herself, “It’s nice to rule through trust, even if we still have a long way to go.”
“I know,” Yellow offered a slight smile her way. “It’s nice to see genuine respect in their eyes. Not respect derived from fear.” She frowned as a thought crossed her mind, “I just regret I wasn’t able to realize it sooner.”
Pink grabbed the golden diamond’s hand and gave it a caring squeeze, before turning her attention back to the dance floor as the Famethyst started throwing the small Carnelian in the air.
A slight chuckle escaped her, and she listened as Pink started yelling encouragement to the wild quartzes. Looking to the other side she noticed how Blue and White were now whispering conspicuously and shooting playful looks in her direction.
A shiver of something akin to excitement ran down her spine.
Well, she definitely knew what that look meant.
~~~~~
The colony were they decided to spend their honeymoon was definitely one of the more beautiful ones Homeworld had.
Due to the fact that it had only been recently discovered, the natural vegetation and beauty of the planet was preserved. The pact made with Earth ensured that Homeworld could no longer completely colonize planets, so only a small portion of this one contained Kindergartens.
The settlement they were staying at was situated on top of some mighty cliffs, and overlooked a gleaming blue ocean that stretched on as far as the eye could see.
They had reserved a large villa-like building that was spaced a bit farther from the settlement, as the four currently valued their privacy and peace of mind following the wedding they’d had the day before.
The building was designed for gems of all sizes to pass through, so the Diamonds found no trouble navigating the villa. They weren’t far from the beach, which Pink and Blue were sure to take full advantage of.
However, at the moment all thought was on basking in each other’s presence and it was only after some very pleasant activities, that the four calmed down enough to really discuss the nature around their abode.
“It’s really quiet pretty,” Pink gushed from where she stood by the window, a silky pink robe preserving her modesty. “Actually reminds me of Earth a bit. Doesn’t look that far off from where I stayed during the recovery.”
“We did take into consideration your fondness for such sights when choosing a destination,” White stated. She was spread comfortably across Blue’s exposed back, as the long haired diamond was laying flat on her stomach. “This place seemed like the closest place we could agree on.”
Yellow grunted in agreement as she read through a holopad, catching up on whatever news might’ve needed her attention in the past few hours.
Blue clicked her tongue, “Do you ever stop working?”
“Nope.”
Pink laughed, “It’s impossible for her to stop. Don’t you know Blue? She’d probably poof from inactivity!”
Yellow glared in her direction as her new wives burst out in laughter, “I would not!”
“Whatever you say, my love~”

Windowless Moviemaker Chapter 6: Race
Windowless Moviemaker
Chapter 6: Race
Kidney turns and leaves me sitting against the wall-- speechless.
My eyes slowly move over to Mitchol, whose slouching form is now cast in darkness by Kidney's shadow. I think, hollowly, that the blood drying on his face probably itches a little. Mitchol manages a small squirm in his ropes.
"Well?" Kidney demands irritably.
Mitchol's swelling, battered face jerks up to attention at Kidney. "W-what?" He dares to ask.
"You're up. Give me a plan."
"Oh," Mitchol says. "Er, I just expected-"
"Is there something you don't understand about your situation?" Kidney interrupts. "You don't get to expect anything. Now, the plan."
"Uh, well, I guess we need to get to their computers somehow. They probably ripped DVDs too. Redhand's a little old fashioned. We might also have to look out for tapes..."
Kidney crosses his arms, scowling. "If I kill these guys, then wipe their houses, am I gonna have to worry that I missed a spot because you couldn't point me in the right direction?"
Mitchol attempts to splay his hands. "Look, I know where my stuff is, but how am I supposed to know exactly where their stuff is?"
Kidney chews at the inside of his cheek angrily and walks over to the table to grab a notebook and pen. "Let's just start with addresses," he says, poising to write. "Redhand."
"He lives up in Tindle in those stained up white apartments. Er, I think the number's 46."
"Costriel." Kidney demands, looking up from his scribbling.
"He lives in an apartment too, and he's actually rooming with Nethandre." Mitchol says. "316, in the Fortitude Apartments."
Kidney nods his head.
"So, er," Mitchol begins. "What are you planning to do now that you know where these guys are?"
"You remember how I said you don't get to expect anything?" Kidney says patronizingly. "The same applies to asking. I, the one who is allowed to expect and ask, do not expect you to open your mouth unless I ask you something."
Mitchol swallows and shifts in his blood-stained bindings.
Then Kidney turns to one of the concrete walls, as if it called his name. He stands, staring at it silently, before asking another question.
"Did you... Did you give those videos to my uncle too?"
Mitchol's mouth quivers. "H-he, uh... he was the one who suggested that, you know, we needed some extra insurance on you in the first place. So yeah."
Kidney stands still, unanswering and unmoving, but I can see his jaw working slightly.
"But please!" Mitchol sputters. "Dude, I-I.. I totally forgot about that earlier-- when you asked who had the videos." His arms press up against the ropes, trying to shield his body. Kidney walks in front of him. "I wasn't holdin' out on purpose or anyth-" Mitchol is cut off by Kidney smacking him over the head with a closed palm.
"Just out of curiosity, Mitchol," Kidney says. "If I hadn't asked about Uncle Stoulfer just now, would you ever have "remembered" to tell me?"
"We-w-w-well I don't know." Mitchol trembles with his hands splayed open and his eyes wide. "Guess it's a good thing you jogged my memory man, ha..."
Kidney turns and paces slowly, shaking his head. "I never liked the way that old, crusty loaf looked at Krin, even at me. But for my own selfish reasons, I ignored it all this time." He scoffs lightly. "Just one more reason to be glad I'm out." He turns back and looks Mitchol dead in the face. "The blinders are off."
"So you're aaalll alone," I say from the corner.
Kidney's eyes shoot to me, surprised.
"What? You thought I'd be totally traumatized just from that?"
His gaze narrows hatefully.
"So some weird shit happened and you saw my dream. It prompted you to get the jump on us, but that was mostly luck. And that's probably as far as your luck will go in regards to picking useful kernels of information outta piles of brain vomit." I snort. "Even my thing was more useful, because I saw you in real time."
Kidney smiles. "Where did I see your dream?"
"Huh?"
"It was inside your mind. It had to have been, 'cause that's where they're all cooked up." Kidney says, tapping the side of his head. "The moon is almost full again. That has to count for something." He breathes in. "I can go further with this. But I'll make sure you stay at your current level. You'll be underground here where you can't touch the moonlight."
"You don't even know what the hell 'this' is." I say.
"Pretty smug talk for a guy who's about to lose everything," Kidney says, with his mouth turned upwards in a smirk that doesn't reach his stony eyes.
"What better time to be smug than when you're about to lose everything?"
His face contorts with all the nasty feelings that must be roiling around inside of him. "I told you I'd take everything from you, and this bullshit positive nihilism of yours will be one of the things. I'll make you understand how bad playing as the loser really is, even if the game has the same black ending for everyone."
He takes Mitchol's phone out of his pocket, then says, "Mitchol, you told me you could set Redhand up."
Mitchol breathes in. "Redhand's looking for a new place to do his snuff movies, so I'm thinking maybe I can tell him I found a good place, and you can catch him there?"
"Hmm," Kidney says, folding his arms. "Why does he happen to need a new location now?"
Mitchol explains, "He's been under some suspicion lately. His neighbors've been complaining about a smell, like rotten something, coming from his apartment."
I don't need to wonder what that smell could be. I watched a video where Redhand Heriolt cut a girl open with a sharpened can top. It'd probably taken a fair amount of practice to learn how to do, but he'd managed to keep his subject awake and alive while he pulled out part of her intestines, smeared the pungent brown contents over both of them, and pleasured himself.
I had thought, while clicking through Redhand's contributions, that cleaning up set after filming that kinda stuff would be way too much of a pain. Looks like Redhand thought so too. That filth and gore in the background really had been as caked-on as it looked.
Mitchol continues, "He even got, you know, reported to the cops 'cause someone heard screams. Redhand laughed it off, sayin' it was slasher flicks playing on the TV. They left after he promised to turn the volume down, and they never got a search warrant or nothin'. Still, better not push it, right?"
I nearly snort. Well no shit someone heard screams if he was doing that stuff in an apartment.
Kidney asks, "Where do you plan on telling him to go?"
Mitchol swallows weirdly, with something about him quivering. "That ghost town 40 minutes southeast of Grishee, the neighborhood has a bunch of abandoned old houses. I know a little white one has a basement too. I think I could convince him it's ideal."
A frown of skepticism sends Kidney's lips pointing downwards, but then he walks closer to Mitchol and loosens some of the bindings so he can move one of his hands. Just as soon, however, Kidney slips a pocket knife out of his back pocket and pops the blade out against Mitchol's neck.
Mitchol gasps sharply, but Kidney just places the previously confiscated cell phone into his newly freed hand. "Text him," Kidney says into Mitchol's ear, adjusting the angle of the knife. "Make it sound natural, and make sure he goes to that little white one."
Mitchol's throat bobs, as much of a nod as there was going to be. He goes to work on the keys:
"sup dood. te ghosted out hood in Caplum has som gud spots. white house wit te green dor has a cool basement."
And "SEND".
Kidney's mouth quirks to the side. "I know I said to make it natural, but are you sure he'll get that?"
Mitchol chokes, "Yeah, I mean, I text him like that often enough."
"I see," Kidney says. Then, the phone buzzes.
"R U THERE NOW?"
"Eh, what should I say?" Mitchol asks.
"If this is a test, you might not be able to answer follow-up questions confirming that you're there. You're at home, got it?"
"nah im chillin in my plce. u out?"
"NO. HOME RUBING1 IN BEEFSLAB+blood I BAWT.CANT HUNT BUT NEed it bad."
"lol. tis Caplum spot wil fix u up. no 1 evr gos der. wnna chekit out togetrr?? jst gimme a time bro."
"nightS YUNG.TERES TIME TO CATCHA WOMAN I LEAVE RN. BETHERE 1HR???"
"frige lvl cool dood XD"
"I didn't say you were supposed to go too," Kidney purrs lowly over Mitchols shoulder. "But, I suppose you can just be 'late.'"
He takes the phone out of Mitchol's hand and re-tightens the ropes. "I can handle Redhand Heriolt from here."
With that, he turns on his heels, clops up the concrete stairs, and leaves me and Mitchol to rot in the bunker.
I look at Mitchol. "Please tell me you just tricked him somehow," I say.
"Shh," Mitchol replies quietly.
A couple of little sparks flare up in my chest and head. If I had the energy, I'd click my tongue. Don't you shush me, bitch. I whispered anyway.
Black silence begins settling down between us, and I close my eyes. The concrete is hard against my body, and I can feel us becoming one via temperature as my warmth seeps away into its cold. I move my lips, and a barely audible, hoarse series of whispers spills from them.
"Mother Earth, Mother Earth, once again to us give birth."
Suddenly, a violent roiling upheaves my stomach, like Poseidon's stormy fist punching the sea in wrath and sending the waters booming and swashing. I projectile vomit all over myself and the floor. The deja vu from my dream hits me first, and then the disgust and embarrassment of real life.
Mitchol jumps, as much as he can tied up anyway. His face is tense with that look of distubia, shock, fear, and concern that I hate directed
at me. "Wha.. are you okay man?"
A suck in a stinging, bile stained breath and respond to him in stench coated words. "No. Fuck... we just... we need to get the fuck out of here."
I lick my lips, and regret pools inside my mouth as my tongue pulls foul bits and cooling, sour fluid back into it.
There's a book of religion that says god will not be mocked and is not to be tested. I suppose I couldn't rightly be of the wombs and births of two different mothers at my own convenience. I never considered myself a man of faith, but this stuff I've been touching-- it seems to be some part of a sprawling realm beyond scientific knowledge.
I look down at myself. The sight of me must be making Mitchol sick, but since I'm already like this... I allow the muscles in my bowels to unfurl like a relaxing kitty, and warm liquid soon soaks my jeans and forms a pool around me.
Yep, this is one thing they don't tell you, at least not often, about being kidnapped. I was living freely up until however many hours ago I was taken, and that meant that I drank coffee and expected to be able to reach a toilet when it made its way through me.
I sigh, and lean over to inhale the merging smells that had all been inside my body. Amazing, how humans are all so disgusting inside, but we act as if we're clean until it comes out. I don't bother to look up at my roommate as I contemplate going number two.
But then I catch my reflection in the puddle of urine, and decide that I have to cancel my reservations with Mr. Brown, because the Train of Thought just arrived, and it only stops at the station for 3 seconds.
The first thing I thought, or perhaps, was told, about Mother Moon was that she was a relayer of the sun's message. And gods... gods... I was just thinking about them. But what do I do about them-- what do humans do about gods? They... sacrifice and serve. Blood, lives... offerings.
"Angel of The Great Star, to you, I unbar. Birth me into the spacial assemblage. Through me, relay the message," I say.
Mitchol again looks at me like I'm insane. Indeed, I've done it incorrectly. If her light cannot touch me, it is pointless. I take in a deep breath, and begin fighting against the ropes around my body harder than I ever fought before. Just a bit, perhaps they're loosening.
If I can just get out of these, I might be able to find a way to force the bunker door open and get outside. And if Mother Moon accepts me, I will be raised above Earth and the Earthlings. I will be 3rd, and they will all be 4th.
In the clearing outside the bunker, Kidney faces the moon and spreads out his arms, letting the glow bathe his body. This pale light can be so many things: ethereal, comforting, serene, eerie... He'd never questioned whose mood it really depended on until recently.
"Mother Moon, Mother Moon..." Kidney trails off, his eyes closed in concentration. But concentration isn't quite right. The chant... the feeling isn't coming over him.
"Mother Moon." He says, more of a plain address than a mystical prayer. "I can see you here tonight, as always. Does it not please you to commune with me right now?"
Gazing up at the white ball suspended in the infinite black cosmos, he ever so slightly feels her grow closer for a moment. However, she remains silent and far.
"On your own terms, Mother Moon." Kidney submits, inclining his head in reverence. Despite everything that has happened, he still feels a little crazy as he walks back to his rental car. He might fit the definition of "lunatic" now.
Kidney drives down the rural road to Caplum. Thousands of spindly, bent trees slash endless shadows through the yellow glow from his headlights. If he were taking the Passage to Hell of the South and met Satan at the end, it might not surprise him. Fitting though, that such a road would be irritatingly monotonous. Bored despite his mission, he flips the radio on.
Unintelligible words and tunes grate through static on most of the channels. Then there's the twang of guitar and a longing voice that reminds Kidney of grass fields swaying under a golden sunset in the middle of a heaven set in nowhere. He never did like country music, so he twists the knob one more click.
A bold, smooth, male voice butters the speakers. "The quiet neighborhood of Green Shade has been shaken by the story of a local housewife. According to her, she was drugged and kidnapped from her home by two masked men, who broke in late at night."
Kidney's heart lurches inside of his torso, along with the food in his stomach. He gags, swerving into the wrong lane for a second. After everything they-- Jeeto-- had told her, Mrs. Horatay was still talking?
The deep voice coming through the speakers crinkles with static. "...underground bunker. They then proceeded to film themselves sexually and physically assaulting her. The woman reports that at various points during the hours-long ordeal, both of her assailants lifted the masks away from their mouths and exposed the bottom portions of their faces."
Kidney's head swims with nausea. He never saw so much as a coin for getting that damnable spasm closeup. The footage of the actual stimulation was cut, he was sure. He'd been the one to edit Mrs. Horatay's movie. But somehow it had escaped his mind that Mrs. Horatay could be looking down, drawing a sketch in her mind for the cops.
"Both attackers appeared to be young males, in their late teens or early twenties. She describes them to be of average height, the shorter of the two having a round face and lightly tanned complexion, while the taller male's face was square shaped. She noted no hair or distinguishing blemishes on either of their faces, however..."
Kidney's hands tremble on the steering wheel, but he forces himself to focus on driving. "Relax. There's gotta be a hundred guys that fit those descriptions around here," he mutters to himself.
After a small eternity, Kidney spots a sign that humanity had come here ahead of him. "SPEED LIMIT 45" in faded black over rusted white. He slows down, guides his rental car into the overgrown brush on the side of the road, then takes the key out of the ignition.
With the engine dead, it's so quiet out here. Kidney pulls on his new black burglar's mask before getting out, just in case. He gently pushes the door closed behind himself, then goes around to the trunk.
A bag of supplies he packed from Jeeto's house is inside, and he unzips it and pockets from it a syringe of animal tranquilizer and a switchblade. The weapon he chooses to keep equipped in hand, however, is the 16-inch machete he brought himself.
Kidney begins his stalk up the road. Even in this dark place with the shadows of the bushes staring at his exposed back, he can feel Mother Moon's light clothing him and guiding his footsteps. Krin's innocently smiling face in the sunset of his room... such a distant memory kept so close to his heart. He clenches the hilt of his machete. He will not be afraid.
Mother Moon's warmth and comfort begins to seep all through him, and he senses her closer than before. The neighborhood comes into view. So he stays low and hidden as he makes his way to the west-most side where that white house is supposed to be. He sees the car before the house. It's a van that only breaks creep convention for its having a green paintjob instead of a white one.
Suddenly, a something like a living memory possesses his mind, only, something is not right. He finds himself looking at himself from behind, his black, hooded form crouching down behind bushes. One of his meaty arms is outstretched, and the hand is holding something, shiny, cold, and heavy. It's a gun-- pointing.
The head that he has an intimate awareness of, but not a oneness with, turns furthur downward without command. He sees white hairs in the bottom of his vision, and the stomach below protrudes too far forward. It is covered with a green Hawaiian shirt.
Kidney gasps, and seems to be sucked back into his own mind again. "Stoulfer," he breathes. Instinctively, Kidney whirls around on his ankles and spins up from the ground. The blast of the bullet rings the air, and Kidney feels it whip past his head and break through the dry shubbery behind him.
The moonlight makes depthless pits of the bags under Uncle Stoulfer's eyes, and carves darkness into every wrinkle and pockmark on his skin. The hairs of his white mustache and goatee twitch.
The old man's deep, raspy laugh mocks him. "I always knew you'd end up givin' me trouble."
Kidney runs for one of the houses. He can hear the many voices of his uncle's mind echoing. The thoughts are so muddled, though, and examined all at once, they're like a wild drove. Irritation. Lust. Smugness.
But the foremost thoughts-- those are the thoughts of action. That is where Kidney puts his focus. The gun fires again, but Kidney knows where it has made its path, and dashes out of its aim just as the trigger is being pulled.
"Shit! Pretty quick on his toes," Kidney hears.
"Got lucky there," Uncle Stoulfer hollers.
Kidney crashes through the rotting, wooden front door of a house, and runs into a bedroom in the back. He stands to the side of the doorway and listens to the floorboards at the entrance creak. Inside, Stoulfer's thoughts sound like mumbling, for only weak, pale streaks of moonlight penetrate the dark building through broken windows and cracked roofing.
Kidney can sense with the stronger rays of light touch the old man's balding head, because those are the moments he can hear more clearly.
Uncle Stoulfer plans to check behind the kitchen counters first, then... Kidney clenches the machete handle and raises the weapon. When Stoulfer comes here, he will strike.

inktober for writers - day 7 - confusion / eijiroctober - day 7 - w Ashido Mina
author’s note: THANK YOU GUYS FOR THE AWESOME ATTENTION ON MY DAY 5 FIC!! im v v appreciative and it made me real happy so thanks again.
i skipped day 6 bc I didnt know what to write for the eijiroctober prompt. anyways, so im back again for day 7. this is such a goofy, silly, no real substance at all kind of fic and its based on THIS video that just came out ft Bella Hadid and when I watched it i was like......this soooo Hagakure... LMAO. so i linked it just so you know what meme im referencing. also i’m noticing that whenever I write something with Tooru in it she’s a walking, preppy ass meme and Mina just encourages her. i’m loving this pattern, honestly. they are so fun to write lol. but ok, i need to stop rambling. author’s note over. lol. drabble under the cut as usual.
“So after you asked, what did he say?” Mina examines the face of her redheaded friend very carefully before continuing her current task. She tsks quietly and uses her index and thumb to gently grab his chin and tilt his head in either direction. Kirishima is sitting on her bed beside Tooru, dressed in his nicest casual clothing and blushing softly under all the scrutiny. “You don’t need any concealer or anything. Your skin is perfect. Loser,” she rolls her eyes in half-serious frustration. Tooru giggles on the edge of the bed, floating clothes slightly rippling with movement. “You can do a liner, though, or a highlight? I don’t know. What do you think, T?” Tooru kicks her legs in excitement, seemingly-floating pink knee-high socks move rapidly. “Ooh! Do both! Both! But easy on the highlight because Kiri glows naturally. We don’t want to overwhelm.” Tooru’s invisible hand grabs Kirishima’s face and turns it towards her. “See? Look! So pretty!” Mina smiles brightly, nodding in agreement. “Pretty! Handsome! Hot! That’s why he’s going on a daaaaate!” The invisible girl squeals in excitement and Kirishima’s face burns red. “That’s not what he said.” “So what did he say? And do you wanna do both?” Mina points to her makeup drawer as Tooru starts quietly chanting, ‘both, both, both!’ from her corner of the bed. “Both,” Kirishima answers and the pink-haired girl turns away from him to start rummaging through her makeup for what she needs. She can hear Kirishima start humming in thought, preparing to answer her initial question. Even without looking, she knows that his tongue is peeking out of his mouth with his burgundy eyes rolled towards the ceiling in contemplation. “He said,” the boy continues, “‘get the hell out of my room and just be ready, Hair-for-Brains.’” Kirishima’s voice gets gruffer as he imitates the voice. Mina laughs at both his answer and his weak impression. “It’s a date, Kiri. Like I said.” She walks back over towards the bed with necessary products in hand. Tooru makes a noise of contention. “Like we said!” “Like we said,” Mina corrects. In front of her, Kirishima looks skeptical. “He didn’t say that.” Mina raises an eyebrow. “Does he ever say anything that isn’t violent?” “Or mean,” Tooru adds. “Or crude?” “Exactly. Read between the lines, Kiri. If it wasn’t a date, he wouldn’t have wasted any time shutting you down.” Tooru seems to be nodding furiously, her white baseball cap bounces up and down in the air. Kirishima seems slightly more assured now. His eyes brighten and he adjusts his posture, sitting taller. “Yeah, Blasty isn’t the best with words.” Mina smiles at the recovery of his confidence. “I guess he coulda just said no.” “Definitely could’ve said ‘no.’” “Mhm!” Tooru chirps. Mina watches Kirishima smile wide and happily. “Fine. I’m trusting you, Horn-Buddy.” He whips his head, turning to Tooru. “You too, Hagakure.” “I mean, obviously,” Mina giggles, getting back to the task at hand. “You’re letting me do your liner. That’s the true measure of friendship.” Tooru nods emphatically. “Oh my god, yes! Like, yeah, you can trust somebody with your life but would you trust them with your cat-eye?” Kirishima snorts in response and Mina giggles even harder. “Shut up, you’re gonna kill me, Tooru,” Mina laughs. Placing the small, circular container of highlight in her hand on the edge of the bed, she brings her hands back up to Kirishima’s eye level. She waves two liquid eyeliner pens in front of him. “Black or navy blue?” “Bla—“ Suddenly, Tooru gasps. In one fluid motion, she bounces from her place on the bed to Mina’s side. She snatches the black eyeliner out of her grip and holds it away. “No! Navy blue! It’ll bring out his eyes more! It’ll look so good against all that natural red!” “The hair’s not natural,” Mina and Kirishima reveal in unison. Tooru sucks her teeth and Mina imagines that she might be rolling her eyes. “Okay, same thing,” she responds in near exasperation. “Look. If homeboy comes through with this,” Tooru shakes the black eyeliner pen in her hand, “it’s gonna be quiet for him.” Mina raises her eyebrows in consternation. Kirishima tilts his head with quiet confusion. “But if he comes through with thaaaat,” she uses her other hand to point to the blue eyeliner still in Mina’s possession. “Homeboy’s gonna, like... get it.” The room is quiet for a few moments until Mina bursts into hysterical laughter. Her laugh is so infectious, Kirishima joins in with her, but his face is still pulled into a look of bewilderment. “Get what?” “It,” Tooru responds cryptically and Mina howls even louder. Kirishima shrugs. “I guess I’ll go with blue then.” “Yay!” Tooru throws the eyeliner onto Mina’s desk and jumps back on the bed. The other girl finally recovers from the bout of hilarity and prepares to work her magic. “Okay, now that T is done being a weirdo, I can give you some badass wings,” Tooru smacks her arm and she resists the urge to laugh again. Kirishima nods and closes his eyes. Completely serious now, Mina carefully does the redhead’s makeup in silence. She was only giving him simple wings and a few brushes of highlight, but she wanted everything to be exact and clean. She worked on his face while Tooru pressed her face very closely to Kirishima’s observing her work and giving suggestions when needed. Both girls make praiseful comments concerning the near perfection of Kirishima’s skin, making him blush with light embarrassment. After about the fourth time of this, Mina finally finishes. “Tooru?” The invisible girl leaps from the bed again and stands in front of Kirishima to fully appraise her work. After a few deliberating moments, Tooru speaks. “Okay, open your eyes, Kiri. Wanna get the whole effect.” Kirishima slowly opens his eyes, looking a bit dazed. “I was nodding off,” he says as way of explanation. Ignoring him, Tooru continues expertly examining his face. Eventually, she squeals with excitement. “Ooh! I told you! You look so good with the navy blue! It brings out all of the red and the gold highlight is just enough to emphasize your natural glow! Oh my god! Mina! You did so well!” The girl bounces up and down with unbridled enthusiasm, her sheer excitement rubbing off on her two classmates. “Can I see?” Kirishima’s eyes are wide and bright, the burgundy of his irises looking even more exquisite under the influence of the navy blue outlining his lids. Mina giggles as she snatches her hand mirror off an idle chair and places it in front of his face. She watches happily as the boy’s eyes overflow with elated surprise. “I thought Hagakure was exaggerating a bit, but nah. You did good.” Mina blushes in an uncharacteristic show of embarrassment. “Thanks, but you did all the heavy lifting, Kiri. You’re annoyingly good-looking. You and Kaminari are the worst.” She shakes her head in mock irritation and Tooru giggles, completely in agreement. Kirishima grins, all sharp teeth and big, pretty eyes. He’s just about to respond when there is an aggressive attack of knocks on Mina’s door. Tooru jumps in surprise and Mina rolls her eyes at the noise, correctly predicting the identity of the rude would-be intruder. “I know you’re in there, Hair-for-Brains! Didn’t I tell you not to be late? If we miss the bus we have to walk!” Bakugou’s loud voice clearly carries through the closed door. Tooru audibly scoffs in response. “We only open the door for gentlemen!” Mina snorts obnoxiously and Kirishima laughs quietly into his hand. “You’re gonna set him off,” Mina snickers. “And?” Mina laughs. Skipping towards the door, she raises her voice so Bakugou can hear her. “It’s ‘Respecting Kirishima’ hours! Be nice or we’ll lock him up in here forever!” Tooru follows her over to the door and hums loudly in agreement. Behind the door, the two girls can hear what sounds like mini-explosions. Mina laughs silently, head against the door. Blasty’s getting mad! Behind her, the bed squeaks loudly with the strain of movement. When Mina turns, Kirishima is now standing and has an amused but slightly uneasy expression on his face. “Okay, okay. We had our fun. I’m gonna go now.” Tooru lightly stomps her foot in defiance. Mina struggles to continue laughing in quiet as Kirishima gives Tooru a pleading expression. She hasn’t had this much fun since Kaminari short-circuited during field training last week! She’s having such a hard time containing herself that she doesn’t notice the absence of the sounds of explosions until Bakugou speaks again. “Kirishima,” he starts and it sounds so foreign and strained that Mina almost chokes on her own scream of laughter. “Can we please...” The blond trails off, leaving the awkward half-request floating in the hair and, not for the first time, she curses the fact that the dorm rooms don’t have peepholes. After a minute, Bakugou starts again. “I really don’t want to miss this showing, so hurry the fuc— let’s go, please.” At this point, Mina is crumpled on the floor. The effort of maintaining a quiet volume taking its toll on her. “T—Tooru,” she whisper-screams in laughter. “Tooru broke Bakugou!” Tooru’s face is, obviously, unreadable but Mina imagines that she looks slightly annoyed. “Being nice never hurt anyone.” Still laughing, Mina catches Kirishima rolling his eyes at both of them. He walks past Tooru and carefully steps over Mina to get to the door. “I’ll see you guys later then. And thanks again.” “You’re welcome,” Tooru quickly replies, bubbly disposition falling back into place. “If you’re really feeling grateful you can come back with the deets.” Mina nods, pink curls brushing against the floor. “Text the group chat when you’re back, Kiri. You better kiss and tell,” she winks mischievously. Kirishima shushes her and lightly taps on the door. She rolls her eyes in amusement. It’s not like McSplode can hear her whispering through the door! Both girls watch him open the door in silence. Mina is lying at a weird angle on the floor but from what she can see Bakugou is dressed stylishly, which isn’t unusual but she can tell he put in extra effort this time around. She watches the blond’s face morph from an irritated, troubled expression to one of almost dazed shyness, his cheeks adopting a pretty pink hue. How many times will Bakugou break today? The blond quickly collects himself but the lapse in attitude was too striking to be missed. Mina snickers into her hand. “W—Well, let’s go, Hai— Kirishima,” he corrects himself while glaring at Tooru’s invisible form. “If we miss the bus we’re gonna be screwed.” Bakugou’s cheeks continue to glow pink. Kirishima nods cooperatively. “Okay! If we speed walk we’ll make it still.” The two boys quickly dash down the hall. Mina, not yet done with her fun, jumps up and sticks her head out the door. “Remember, Blasty! It’s ‘Respecting Kirishima’ hours! Don’t make Hagakure beat your ass!” Tooru laughs as they strain to hear a muffled shout in response. Mina is almost positive that she heard some variation of the f-word but that’s nothing very concerning. Giggling, the pink girl shuts her bedroom door. Turning to Tooru, she extends a palm towards her to initiate a high-five. The invisible girl reciprocates, excitedly giggling with her. “Did you see Bakugou’s face? He’s so crushing. Kiri is so dumb!” Mina laughs. “They’re both dumb. Bakugou’s dumber though.” “Oh, of course, obviously” Tooru agrees. Mina playfully slaps her arm as she passes her to get to her desk. Picking up her phone she starts drafting a message. Tooru looks over her shoulder and gives a dainty snort of amused approval.
