Percy infodump incoming I’ve been thinking of him, his relationship to gender, and his ever so selfish and hypocritical views on the world
They’re such a product of their environment, the new gender system perfectly exemplifying everything about gender that makes them so insecure bc like. They ain’t a man or a woman, but no one else can process the concept that he’s neither. So instead they go with the second best option of “man”, because it’s better than being seen as a woman at least— and even then, as soon as his pants come off, it’s like the illusion breaks and suddenly everyone thinks he’s some crossdressing girl. And it infuriates them, so part of the reason why they want to become so powerful and intimidating is because at least then maybe people will be too scared to question him
The fact that he’s intersex makes it worse, because then when people view him as just a cross dresser then they see him as a FREAK too!! Deep voice, extremely tall, tdick, flat chest… can’t even look like a girl in the ‘right’ way. Which he then rationalizes that the intimidation will fix that too. Just gotta get more powerful. Just gotta be more in control.
This all manifests in him being someone who has actually never been able to fully explore his own gender, since they took on the role of “man” as a way to separate themself from womanhood when they came to the orphanage. So now they’re in this spot where their gender identity is half-baked and all of the insecurities just start piling up. He already found himself to be ugly as a child due to his mothers harsh criticisms, but that added paranoia of being seen as a woman has just made them all the more hyper aware of the thoughts and feelings of other people (even though they come off as someone that doesn’t care about what other people think— which they usually don’t. It’s just that this is a very sore subject for them)
It’s part of why he doesn’t like dressing in more ‘feminine’ ways, or wearing skintight clothes, because even the minute possibility of being seen as a woman makes his skin crawl. Hypothetically they could actually explore being more gender nonconforming if they actually got to be at a point where they’re comfortable in their own skin but. That would take some insane au fuckery for them to ever be at that spot
Insecurity in general is a big theme with Percy, he’s an inherently spiteful and envious person that lets his emotions out on others even when they don’t deserve it. Even when he was actively suicidal he was still pretty nasty towards others he deemed ‘better’ than him. Celes is the biggest example of it, she did nothing but unintentionally excel at all of the things that Percy was insecure about— and because of that Percy has had a one sided resentment towards her since they were children. If he is jealous over you then it’s YOUR fault in his eyes. How DARE you be better than him, how dare your very existence serve only as mockery in his eyes. Because he’s selfish, it doesn’t matter if the other person is suffering in other ways— he’s locked onto that insecurity of his and ignores all else. Tunnel vision
Percy is constantly throwing a pity party for themself, because they suffered in the past, because they’re suffering NOW, then that means they’re allowed to inflict as much harm upon people as they want. They’re above criticism because this town sucks anyways, so really the citizens deserve to get their faces beaten in. A flimsy excuse made by someone who attacks indiscriminately for the most part. They just use people like punching bags and then want to get away with zero consequences..
Because he’s suffered so much, you know? What do you mean you’ve also suffered? Who cares. That doesn’t matter. Just shut up and take the beating
He’s a hypocritical mess that’s overcompensating for the things that he’s lacking in by beating down the people that do have what he wants. And that’s why he’s so fun to write <3

➰ ( KATHERINE MCNAMARA, CIS FEMALE, SHE/HER ) *✧.:°░。 —- is that MORRIGAN ?! you know them, right? they are the UNKNOWN year old WARLOCK !! they’re known for being ADAPTABLE & PROTECTIVE - but i’d be careful if i were you because they’re also UNTRUSTING & CRUEL !!
Tumblr media
i....i’m not even gonna try to explain myself.
NOTE: this is very long and i apologize. if you don’t want to read it all, skip to the “physical description, personality, && other” and message me for a summary on the rest.
TRIGGER WARNINGS: kidnapping, murder, death, ??
so this loser here is morrigan, though she’ll also answer to morri, morra, igan, genny, witch, and mo.
shortly after she was born her mother gave her to a warlock, knowing she wouldn’t be able to take care of the girl herself.
not even five months later she was stolen away and the warlock that had been looking after her was left for dead.
morrigan was raised between the mundane world and faerie - always in a forest, far from the prying eyes of civilization - by a group comprised of other warlocks, a handful of mundanes, and a small group of fae that called themselves wild and claimed no loyalty to seelie or unseelie.
in her eyes, her youth was completely normal. running through the trees with her “siblings”, darting in and out of portals without a care, lying in the sun in a hidden meadow. she didn’t question any of it until she was older and grew curious about the world outside the safety of her forest.
her curiosity would, like most cliche ‘innocent’ characters, lead to nothing but pain.
she ventured out several times before anything went wrong, and she’d grown comfortable and sure that it was safe.
first she watched from a distance - observed a small village cloaked in the safety of the darkness night provided. then she grew bold - ventured into the village, sitting by the fire and simply listening to the stories told by the elders though she didn’t understand a word of them. even still she felt no danger. that all came to an end just as winter began to set in, when one of the villagers followed her - concerned as to why she’d be heading away from the others when the nights were so cold.
upon entering the forest the villager spotted children - mundane children, some of which had been stolen from their own community - playing in the trees as they waited for morrigan to return.
the villager returned home, and by the time the sun reached it’s peak in the sky the warriors from the village had arrived back at the forest.
not even a full day later the fighting was done - her family’s elders had protected the young, but many had given their lives in doing so. half of the forest still burned when a straggler from the mundane village tried to lure the children out of the forest, at which point something in morrigan snapped.
without a second thought she had lifted a blade from a fallen warrior and charged the mundane. moments later, with their blood still on her hands, she had stepped through a portal right into the center of the village. with the majority of their warriors lying dead in the forest they stood no chance. soon the only evidence that the village had existed were the memories in the minds of the children morrigan returned to the forest with.
in the end only three elders remained, and it was clear two of them didn’t have much time left. morrigan, along with another warlock that had been taken around the same time she had, was given the knowledge of the elders through a spell allowing the two to see the elders’ memories.
unfortunately, the knowledge drove the other mad, unable to handle all that they had learned. morrigan, though not driven out of her mind, didn’t fare much better. she lost faith in strangers, becoming suspicious of outsiders and cruel to those that crossed her. gone was the girl with wonder in her eyes and joy in her heart.
the two, along with the last remaining elder, ruled over their home for centuries to come - stealing babies and children, becoming legends mothers told their children to keep them in line. even now their forest remains, though it has been moved to a pocket dimension created by morrigan, their elder, the other, and several of the warlock children that had been with them since the beginning.
the next time she left for anything more than collecting a child was to find her mother - she knew her to be a mermaid, even had a faded memory of what she had looked like. it took her several years, during which she would regularly return home, to actually find the woman.
bonding with her mother brought a sort of peace over her soul, though it only seemed to remain while the two were together and faded just as soon as they parted.
after meeting her mother she began to spend more time outside of her forest. she came to enjoy the bustle of cities, took an interest in several “mundane” hobbies, and has made homes for herself in several parts of the world.
physical description, personality, && other
she is naturally a blonde with juniper green eyes, though she generally keeps her hair a dark auburn with a glamour.
she’s 5′4″ but is in 6″ heels 99.8% of the time
pansexual/demiromantic
9.6/10 would sell you to satan for a pretty flower
would be perfectly content to watch the world burn as long as her home and family were safe.
she’s been in town for about a week now ( so she arrived around the 27th of july ) and is mostly here because she heard the merqueen’s call she’s curious to see how this “war” will pan out
very likely to act like a mundane, is very good at it
she has a younger half-sister - hestia - who she would go through hell and back for.
has three “pets” - a rottweiler named maiden, a large crow named mother, and a white cat named crone.
wanted connections
her children - warlocks, mundanes, seelie, maybe even a shadowhunter. none of the family was forced to stay - once they were old enough to handle themselves they were taught about the outside world and given the choice to leave. your character could be one of the ones that left, or a runner - those that would venture out to collect children or information or whatever. generally speaking, most children taken from the mundane world in the last 200ish years were taken from neglectful families - those taken from faerie, on the other hand, might’ve had loving families that the other just felt like screwing with.
the elder - a faerie that had once been a seelie that had chosen to defect and denounce all ties to the seelie. this character spends their time going between the mundane and seelie forests, tending the wards that keep unwanted visitors from looking too closely.
the other - a warlock, morrigan’s other half. this character doesn’t have a firm grip on sanity and they lean heavily on morrigan to keep them stable. they spend most of their time in faerie, enjoys tormenting the fae and turning them against each other. this connection can be platonic or romantic, depending on plotting!
other -
friends she’s made while out and about - she’s traveled all over, and would possibly have one or two close friends.
one-night-stands and friends-with-benefits - people she’s slept with. she’s not terribly picky - if you’re pretty/charming/fun, she’s probably willing.
enemies - people whose children were stolen? people that she met and they just Don’t Like Her? people that were dating someone she slept with when she slept with them? honestly anything.
??? - hit me up if you have other ideas <333
