As a yt passing Native myself, some of you are really pushing the line and are way too close to saying "those meanie darker Natives always bully and oppress us!!" when speaking about how yt passing natives CAN be treated. There's a fine line between calling out an issue in the community and acting more oppressed than our browner people.
Before anyone starts, white passing privilege is not white privilege. We are still Indigenous, we just have different experiences. We are less likely to be verbally harassed/called slurs, assualted or killed, and it is actually really important to talk about.
You're just being colourist with extra steps.
Also speaks volumes how so many of us don't have the same passion for black natives being native. The Cherokee Nation fucking disowned the descendents of slaves owned by the tribe for not being Indigenous, some blood quantums tests where specifically against black indigenous, and there is absolutely a current and historical anti-blackness problem in our community. But somehow I don't see the same amount of speaking out for them.
