I was thinking about how Eight might adapt to KOTFE/ET since I'm taking him through it after all (as well as weaponry since i've been seeing a few of my moots discussing their own characters with their tools) and looking at the Zakuulan Knights, I felt as if he'd really have to add something new to his arsenal. Poison and knives are well and good, but they're so heavily armored with long-reaching spears and very few openings that would make staying inside their range far too dangerous with his old tactics and short blades, and I can't imagine poison would be the best choice if they have filters in those giant helmets.
The best opening he could go for is the face slit and their open ass (lol) and while the behind is a good place, he'd get easily caught if he went for it every single time. So how to solve this?
The conclusion I came to was giving him an Echani Vibrosword-- not only is it fitting for his race, but the longer reach, the extended power, and the ability to at least combat lightsabers if given a special weave makes it a weapon he would have to rely on with such different enemies. Where he lacks the Force and armor of his enemies, he has speed and strength, and I can easily see him using a longer blade with the same ease he does his knives. He might even relish the idea of being able to use a weapon from his culture as he's been removed from it for so long.
He's no duelist like the Jedi or Sith, but he would use that sword like an assassin: with each move made with the intent to kill immediately. The fight must end in 3 moves or less, since he can't win in attrition. His style would prioritize piercing the Knights through that facial slit or going straight for decapitation, and with his added (borderline ridiculous) mobility and sneak attacks, he'd have more chances to.
TLDR; it is with my great pleasure to announce that Eight gets a vibro-Tachi and is now embodying the anime trope of the hired killer that has a katana for some reason.
Additional notes: the "3 moves or less" style is one I already use in-game bc while DoT is nice, I don't even have 10 secs to wait for certain enemies to die and sometimes it takes forever to layer on the poison and wait for them to kick in.
#swtor#adding a longer blade to his weapons... what an aesthetic#oc: orradiz#i debated this since last night wondering if he should be given disposable blades to break off inside their helmets so they can't grab him#but he's fucked if he runs out of a golfbag of swords so#also it's kind of really cool to have an agent that's martially aligned compared to his sniping and poisoner cousins
