love how until the Ocean Saga, Eurylochos questioning Odysseus and placing doubts was more of just him being a good second in command and presenting additional variables

then Polities dies

and now Eurylochus’s questioning and doubts are less him being a good second and more of him not wanting a repeat of Odysseus’ hubris and disregard for all the minor variables. but Odysseus continues to dismiss him and brush off his doubts, furthering his friend’s belief that he can no longer trust his captain and most beloved friend

#which leads to his own death but i am getting ahead of myself #also it if so fascinating to listen to how both characters go about grieving Polities #there is more caution and a need to answers from Eurylochus #meanwhile Odysseus throws himself into his mission bc if they get home fast & play their cards right then no one else dies #or maybe that’s just me #epic the musical #epic the ocean saga
