idk if in like three/four years it will make sense for me to go back to school or even if i will still want to but in the meantime i’m collecting masters degree that i would love to pursue... here’s a small list:
https://www.fondazionefeltrinelli.it/publichistory/ - in milan, classes and meetings only during the weekends which would mean i could still work, & it is much cheaper than the other options; love the topic and the idea of working in a ‘cultural’ setting if that makes sense, would mean i would stay in italy indefinitely but that’s okay because i would work in a beautiful & intellectually stimulating area
https://www.spatialmanagement.unifi.it/vp-151-study-plan.html - in florence, which i fell in love with when i visited and totally felt like i could live there, i feel like this is the perfect mix between working with cultural public spaces in italy and studying urbanism so i could go on to do different things etc and urbanism is what i studied in the first place and where my real interest lies. some courses are in english some are in italian, which is perfect!!
https://efi.ed.ac.uk/narrative-futures/ - beloved beloved masters degree. in edinburgh which would be cool except for the weather but i reckon i could lean into it. literally perfect masters degree - kind of further away from what i have studied in the past but not really if you go through the courses that they list on the website - so many are related to study of cities etc etc i have this vision of myself doing this masters part time in two years while writing a speculative novel which is loosely a retelling of king arthur legends with ecological themes. really expensive though
i think what i would like to do is create three reading lists with some of the books cited on the sites of the masters degrees and then go through them in the next couple of years and take really good notes and use this experience kind of as a runaway to take off of and see where i land
#also in the meantime i have started volunteering with FAI#which is basically the national trust in italy tasked with protecting italian environmental and cultural heritage#well i haven't started YET i start this thursday#and i'm super excited :)#i did send them my cv when i graduated but it was 2020 so they were basically not hiring anyone :( but my idea is that the volunteering#can be a great opportunity to figure out how they work and maybe get a paid position#rsie.txt#just collecting thoughts i guess
