SAKUSA KIYOOMI

Sakusa never considered having children before. It was not something he could say he wanted, nor was it something he could say he didn’t want. Though, that no longer mattered when you told him that you were three weeks late. The possibility of an impending pregnancy seemed to ignite your spirits. Well, the two of you have been together for years, have you not? A little unconventional before getting married, but surely a family was somewhere in the cards, right? You were getting more excited the more you thought about it — the color of the nursery, what kind of names, maybe you should start looking for a bigger place? And while you were mindlessly chattering about the benefits of breastfeeding, Sakusa was sitting next to you just wishing the ground would swallow him whole, and spit him out far away. A child? At this age? At the height of his career? All he could picture when thinking of children are the snotty, dirty fingered, food-stained lips, sneezing-into-open-air little humans that came to his games, and he wanted to shiver. He could only stare at you blankly as you ask him if was he hoping for a boy or a girl? The answer was simple — he was hoping for neither. Though, the universe thankfully saved him from that when a week later, you told him it was a false alarm. Your time of the month came, and an ocean of relief crashed over him like a tsunami. “It’s okay, we can just try again,” you giggle, and he freezes. He hadn’t thought about children before, but now he knows parenthood is not for him. With the excited smile on your face from the prospect of trying again, how the hell was he supposed to tell you that?

OIKAWA TOORU

Oikawa was so good with his nephew. They bicker and fight, but you know that Oikawa would move mountains for the kid. You realize this even more after a night of babysitting with Oikawa, seeing him prepare his nephew’s dinner, and watching anime together on the couch. When his sister gets home, and the two of you bid them farewell, you walk away with Oikawa’s hand around your shoulders, and a smile on your face. “Aren’t you excited to have a kid of your own?” You ask lightheartedly, though your heart drops when you hear him scoff and sputter. “Me? With a kid? Can you imagine?” He laughs, but your lips keep morphing into a frown. “What do you mean? Of course I can, you’re amazing with Takeru,” you retort, and Oikawa shakes his head. “Yeah, I’m good with him because I can give him back,” Oikawa continues with an amused lilt to his voice, “But I can only stand him for three days, MAX.” The disappointment that weighed on you made you drag your feet across the pavement, until you stopped in your tracks and you couldn’t help but to pout. “But I want kids of my own someday,” you say shyly, and Oikawa just looks down at you with uncertainty. “Well, I… I’m not really sure that I do,” he admits quietly. The silence of the night pierced through both your hearts.

USHIJIMA WAKATOSHI

Ushijima thought he might have reacted better to a bucket of ice water dumped on his head. He hadn’t meant to be upset when you told him you were pregnant. It’s not that he didn’t want to have children with you… well, actually, he’s not certain what it was. But the thought of being a father just filled him with an anxiety that he couldn’t place. With the way he reacted, he’s not surprised that it took you three entire weeks and a missed ultrasound appointment for you to finally allow him to speak to you. “So, what is it, Wakatoshi?” after hours of back and forth, you finally snap. “I don’t know,” came Ushijima’s lame response, and you rolled your eyes and turned to leave. “If you don’t want be the father to our child, I can do this by my—“ “I do want to be the father,” Ushijima had never raised his voice, but this was something he must get out, “I just don’t know how. I’ve never had — How am I supposed to provide for you, to be a father, if I don’t even know …” Ushijima trails off, and the mist behind his eyes speak every word unsaid. “You’re afraid,” you finally say, after what felt like lifetimes of silence. Ushijima just slowly nods. “But I can figure it out,” he says sternly, and you reach out for his hand. He squeezes your fingers in his. “We will figure it out.”

YES of course you can rb the ask game!!! and thank you so much for so many questions omg i’m going to put them all below a cut since you asked a lot and my answers do tend to get lengthy ahdgsh

and also thank you for the compliments to the questions <33 i picked some of them out based on lore and some based on my impression of each area on the map so!! makes me happy to hear :D

for anyone seeing this and wondering, here is the ask game, you can rb as long as you send me (or whoever you rb it from) an ask for it >:3 (bc practicing rb karma is nice and is my favorite thing to do!)

okay SO i actually want to answer these mixed up a little- i’d do them all for kazuma but i just did fungal wastes for him so i’m going to assign some to zhongli and some to kazuma because those two have been very much on my mind lately!

city of tears - does your f/o cry often? can be happy tears, sad tears, or any other emotion!

starting off with kazuma! he doesn’t cry often at all, but it’s not like he never cries either! he tends to cry when things are intense in general, so it could be any situation from like a fight with is best friend to me asking if he’d marry me- if he’s feeling intensely about the situation, he might shed a few tears!

he’s got such a pretty face, and just watching him smile real big and crying happy tears that roll down his cheeks ... aughgh he’s beautiful-

crystal peak - what does your f/o find to be valuable as a gift?

alternating, so this one’s about zhongli! zhongli is very much a big spender, as i’ve mentioned previously talking abt him- but material items and buyable things aren’t all he considers valuable gifts! in fact, he thinks that things from the heart, no matter their monetary value, are more valuable than anything storebought!

so like, if i gave him a nice rock and said “it looks like your eyes and i think that’s pretty” he’d probably think that’s way nicer than if i were to buy him something, even if that something was something he really wanted

dirtmouth - what place do you and your f/o consider to be home? can be anywhere, just the place that feels the most familiar to both of you!

kazuma once again! oh, this is an interesting one, i. really think for us, home would be considered anywhere that we have each other for an extended period. like, if we spend a lot of time at a park, that park will feel like home to us. i think he and i are very flexible in our definition of home, just because i think we are home to each other.

fungal wastes - how protective over you is your f/o?

i wanted to answer this one for zhongli so bad. so i’m gonna. he’s extremely protective, and i touched on it vaguely in the first ask i got for this game, but oh my gods. he’s been alive for like 8000 years, he’s seen many many deaths of past friends (and lovers, i can only assume) and he never wants to lose me.

even if it’s inevitable, that someday the two of us must be separated by erosion of any sort, or death, he wants to prolong us as long as he can. and so, he gets really protective. if i’m under the weather, i’m not to go out until i’m 100% again, and if someone is hurting me in any way... let’s just say, he will have order.

i love and appreciate him so much, and with recent events (that i encourage you to ask about) he’s been even more protective of me, though that’s showing in a much more domestic way- like, he makes sure i’m eating enough (which isn’t an issue unless i can’t decide what to eat so bad that i just don’t altogether) and he tells me that even if he’s got more work to do, that i should go to bed at a reasonable time so that i get enough sleep- things like that. and gods, do i love him.

greenpath - what is your f/o’s favorite type of weather? do you like it too, or do you disagree with them?

kazuma’s favorite kind of weather, let’s go! he likes an average spring day, i think- not too cold, not too hot, a gentle breeze, partly cloudy- and i’d have to agree, those kinds of days are wonderful!! they just get to my allergies so i tend to prefer them in the fall.

as long as i’m with him, though, we can make any kind of weather feel nicer than it is!!

queen’s gardens - when one of you needs a break or rest, how does the other help with this, if at all?

ah!! zhongli and i are pretty good at noticing when the other needs a break or rest, like when we get burnt out or tired the other tends to pick up on it. he’s very persistent when it comes to me taking care of myself, even if he has to physically pick me up and place me on the couch like “i understand that you’re antsy and you dislike idling, but you have to take a break.”

on the other hand, when he overworks, i try to get him to slow his roll but it doesn’t usually work unless i go right to hu tao and ask her if i can get him a few days off work at the funeral parlor. when i do that, zhongli makes this cute face at me that’s like.. he’s stunned every time i try to force him to take a rest. like yeah he’s the geo archon, but he’s old and retired?? man take a rest every so often, ily <3

resting grounds - does your f/o believe in superstitions, ghosts, or other supernatural occurrences?

kazuma? well, i’d say yes. not openly, it’s not something he’d completely devote himself to looking into, though if you asked him i’m certain he believes in that stuff. though i may also be biased toward “monster of the week” that my brother is running that is FULL of supernatural occurrences

royal waterways - when one of you is feeling icky or bad, how does the other help?

annndd this should be a zhongli question but i feel like a lot of that is encompassed in the queen’s gardens answer i had- so we’re going for kazuma on the last one as well!!

kazuma is the type to ask what i need every time i’m feeling bad. it’s usually, “how can i help?” and if i say that i don’t know he asks if he can just sit with me, or hold me, and i tell him to come here. he knows i’m either huge on physical affection or not in the mood for it at all, like it’s a 50/50 shot with no in between, so his asking is one of the sweetest things. gah, i can’t-

on the other hand tho, if he’s not feeling too good, i always think i’m not good with words but i usually know what to say to get him to smile at the very least. he likes to lay his head on my chest in these kinds of situations, and he listens to my heartbeat while i talk to him. and if i really don’t know what to say, i put my arms around him and tell him that, and he thinks it’s enough.
