question for any people that have lost their sight (or sighted people who understand blindness ig) that might come across this post: does blindness (of the "cant see anything at all" variety) actually "look" dark? a common trope in fiction is someone waking up newly blind and assuming they are in a dark room, is that actually reasonable or are the two things completely different?

#my gut instinct is that it cant look the same #bc it doesnt look like anything at all right?#idk though its wildly outside my frame of reference #also if its not clear im not like...trying to use a weird euphemism for blind people #i specified 'lost their sight' because i imagine if you were blind from birth you ALSO wouldnt know if these two things seem the same
