there were so many trailers that I just wanted to jot down thoughts

ossan's love- I never got into the og, never got into the remake, it's unlikely that i'll watch this unless it has glowing reviews after it ends and maybe not even day

leap day- it looks interesting but also looks bad so we'll see. I love a good symbolic pair but day/night combo has been soured for me due to last twilight. Gun looks like he'll be good. Dew gets a lot of lead roles for someone that I don't think is a good actor.

the heart killers- awww firstkhao getting their romcom! after this, imma need them to do some individual projects though. They're too good to only get pair projects. joongdunk looks fine, casting joong and khao as brothers should be fun.

friendshit forever- I was so intrigued when I thought this was a gl and then far less intrigued later. GMMTV needs to give pat her gl like yesterday. I hate this hair on Boun but i'll still be watching this.

perfect 10 liners- I heard this was 30 eps??? gmmtv clearly has too many actors and pairs then they can handle. still waiting for perthchimon to get a decent story, will not be watching unless I hear its good after it ends.

us- this looks excellenttt. I am cautiously optimistic and hopefully, i'll be over my precious enough that I can appreciate coming of age romances again by the time this airs. The pair looks great, Sing also looks great, i'm definitely watching

Hide & Sis- after the mess that was the jungle, I was ready to nope out of this and then they showed Piploy. No clue if it's good but i'll be watching. Hopefully, it'll be more psihy and less the jungle.

Thame- Po -i do have a weakness for idol romances so watching, yes, the rest of it is unimportant

break up service- reminding me of midnight motel, looks fine but not enough that i'm going to watch it

revamp the undead story - ik I'm out of the loop but I am still surprised that they're already announcing this project. how I feel about it remains to be seen but this is boum's dream production so i'll watch for him if nothing else. Oh actually, one thought- why the fuck did they do that to santa's eyebrows?

sweet tooth, good dentist- I'm delighted to see Mark be the lead. They'll be compelling just because it's ohm and mark and also mark's shown us all year that he can have good chemistry with anyone. Will be watching but am a taddddd bit disappointed that it's such an idk, basic role.

The Dark Dice- didn't expect Gemini to get a solo show, it's wonderful to see Prim again but this looks like Jumanji in a high school setting, skip

The Ex-Morning- clearly written for this specific pairing, the chemistry looks better than sotus but i'm ambivalent on singtokrist so idk yet if I'm going to watch. Currently a skip for me

Scarlet Heart Thailand - It took entirely too long for me to connect this to the kdrama but officially what i'm most excited for. However, this only works out if Nanon's Wang So and Win's Wang Wook in which case it'll be excellent. if Win's Wang So, i'll still watch but I won't be happy about it. Either way, the casting looks absolutely fantastic and thought out. Tu's going to be perfect as Hae Soo.

The Great Hunt - Robert Jordan 3,5/5 stars

Jot-it-down-as-it happens commentary, and, fam, this book was a ride.

Commentary: -“[The Dragon’s] blood” “shall give us the Light”? Rip, Rand, I guess? :’). Help. -“A light of mischief in his brown eyes and the hint of a smile on his lips” - shut up, that’s my forcibly loved boy Mat and I forcibly love him. -I feel so bad for Rand, Mat and Perrin. The Dark One is literally holding a gathering with their holograms and they’re so innocent, still. -The Trickster, my boy is the Trickster, I’m making cooing noises. -Aw, Rand, why. I’ve always disliked the trope of being mean to protect someone. -Light, things are so slow. -I’m laughing so hard, I get so confused with all the names and the places, that sometimes I just go back like, “Wait, that’s the thing that… No, it’s the other thing. No wait. What?” -We’re going dark with the violence I see. -The dagger is gone?! Save Mat! -Gasp, you’re kidding, they got the Horn??? -Look at Rand asking questions, I’m proud of your character development. -Petty Perrin is my jam. -Oh, but I like Lan and Moiraine more in this one. -My boy Rand is using reasoning, I am stoked, I am proud, I am elated. -I need to note that I’m also elated that Rand, Mat and Perrin are together. I want them together. -Aes Sedai Bene Gesserit vibes. -My son Mat is very petty, but I will presently allow it. -Oh, bless. Rand’s telling the boys he can channel. I hope it goes well. -“Aaaah! I feel like it’s “I understand this matters somehow, but could it please be more compelling.” -Things are happening, but somehow not much is happening. -The Aiel prophecy sure is specific. -I’m glad they found each other again, idk idk, I just feel better when the boys are together. -So many Mistborn vibes, and I do be enjoying them. -Burn you, Mat, I really do feel fond of you even if I want to smack you, what is this. -See, that whole Barthanes business was enjoyable! Sometimes I feel like I’ll scream if I read another page, and sometimes I can’t stop until I’ve finished yet another chapter. -I heard once that every single minor character in the series is described so much that you think they matter, but then they don’t, and back then I thought, well, that’s fine, who cares, but no. I CARE. It’s very distracting. I’m the kind of reader who tries to retain everything, and in this case I just get lost. -Not Dena! What has she ever done to you! -“I won’t hurt your trees.” Mat, Mat, Mat, I am absurdly lenient with this boy, I hate him (affectionate) (begrudgingly so). Damn his twinkling eyes and his almost smiling trickster mouth! -Every time Loial reacts with “fuck this, I’ll just read,” what a relatable king. -Oof, the different worlds Rand sees through the Portal of what could have been are so riveting and heartbreaking. -I actually like Nynaeve very much. -Liandrin you fucking bitch. -“You have served me before” – ngl, would love to read the story where the Dragon joins the Dark One. -A broken wheel you say. I’m dead pooling Ingtar. -I freaking love Nynaeve. -“Mat said nothing, but his entire face was a plea” – Mat said nothing?! Is this character development? -“Blade rang on blade like hammer on anvil” – Ooh, that sounds iconic. -You keep making a point that Mat is holding the Horn, which means either Ingtar will fight him for it, or Mat will blow it. -Egwene going feral, YES EGWENE! -Oh hey, I like Ingtar’s arc, the twist that he’s a Darkfriend who DIDN’T betray us in the end. -My boy Rand is so kind, omg. -Chapter: “The grave is no bar to my call.” Me: Yes! Yes!!! YES!!! BRING

IT!! -Mat, you are provisionally forgiven. -Yessss, I knew it, my man Mat sounding the Horn! -Lol, me on 2/3 of the book: This is dull. I don’t care. Why are we here. Me on the last 1/3 of the book: I LOVE EVERYONE IN THIS BAR, THIS IS EXCELLENT, WE’RE LAUGHING WE’RE GREAT WE’RE- -Artur freaking Hawkwing what is happening this is excellent!!! -They’re following the Dragon, the Horn and the Banner, Rand, Mat and Perrin, fuck me this is so good, help. -Asdgfdg, Rand has silky hair, good to know. -I wish that not this many conversations between the women revolved around who Rand will choose and the fact that he can’t marry them. -It’s Lanfearrrr, one point to me! -“The Dragon battled the Dark One in the skies above Falme” - Shut up, this sentence is iconic. -I’m even cheering for Moiraine and Lan being around, what’s happening to me. -Perrin and Loial are staying! Good, good! -The last 1/3 of the book was worth everything, oh my God, yes. -I am desperate to look up art, but I’ve been accidentally burned one too many times from spoilers, so I shan’t. -I feel like this book would be better on a reread.

1. eddie kaspbrak OBVIOUSLY my fav character of all time… i could go on and on about him but idk he is just So Compelling and complex and the best ever and is also half of my favorite ship ever so that’s even more content of him to enjoy so there are some bonus points… but yeah eddie is awesome he’s so sweet and funny and brave and GAY and i love him. this is all book eddie btw. 1990s eddie i love u too & 2017/19 + rockwell eddie i also love but not as much sorry🧍🏻

2. richie tozier my beloved… richie is also complex and i relate to him A LOT unfortunately lol… but yeah no his whole deal with being so aware of and nervous about how other people perceive him……… i love that man. maybe he should stop being racist in the book though idk just a thought

in theory i love & support absolutely all nd hcs basically ever, & esp nd m9 hcs

but in practice there are some nd m9 hcs that strike me as just 100% unequivocally wrong

these hcs include:

adhd allistic caleb

adhd allistic caduceus

and autistic non-adhd fjord

& they are because:

caleb is the most autistic-coded character i have ever seen literally why on earth would u ever point at this man & go “no. no, this man is adhd instead” why would u do that that makes absolutely no sense. i understand if for projection reasons u like to hc him as both? that is a concept that makes sense to me? like. don’t get me wrong, i disagree very strongly--but i support u in ur endeavors! have fun! but if u solely hc him as Only ADHD that’s just completely bananasauce & i will Not stand for it

caduceus is also very very autistic, & i can understand interping him as adhd as well bc he does have some traits that’re easy to attribute to inattentive-type specifically? i strongly disagree & view those traits as being due to The Autism but i can super see how adhd is a v possible & compelling concept here. but again like. if ur rly sittin here trying to tell me w/ur whole-ass mouth that he’s only adhd i’m afraid i just do not understand How u can possibly think this

fjord, by contrast, is the most adhd dude to ever adhd & while if i squint i can see how he might maybe read as autistic, i’m afraid i Just Don’t See It in actuality. like, i can put together the pieces that i’m sure other folks must be picking up on, & i wish them the best of luck on their quests & all that, but just--i don’t agree, & i super do not agree w/the notion that that dude is Only Autistic & Not At All ADHD bc that’s just Nope

okay trying to jot down my thoughts on luke cage season 2

i actually kind of loved this season whereas i just liked season 1. some of that probably just came down to personal preference - i’m always gonna prioritize female characters and i feel like a lot of them had more to do this year, i really liked bushmaster and the general exploration of grey morality throughout the season, etc - but also to hit a few more objective points, like. season 1 had some really powerful moments and emotional beats, but narrative-wise i felt the shuffling around of the villains really did not work since diamondback just didn’t hold up, and that kind of affected the second half of the season.  in season 2, there are multiple antagonists yes, but it doesn’t really feel like they’re swapping them out for one another so much as... balancing them and playing with the audiences’ sympathies and loyalties, which is really cool and effective.

um... man i’ve probably forgotten a lot of the points i wanted to talk about by now, so i’ll just talk about the characters a bit. luke was cool. kind of more of an asshole who you couldn’t agree with as much this season buuut that was the whole point. i’m not strictly opposed to making protagonists flawed in that way when it’s handled well, which? i feel like it was? what the finale did with him is Certainly gonna set him at odds with a lot of people and i kind of want to see misty kick his ass now, but i understand why he felt it was necessary

which, easy tie-in, misty!! one of my favorites this season, and i really loved that she was like... almost treated as the protagonist as much as luke was, in that she got so much focus and narrative relevance and development. and you really felt a lot of the emotional weight of the things that have happened to her -- like, i mean we all knew the bionic arm thing was coming and it was great to finally see that (but also how she coped with that psychologically) but i also appreciated that they didn’t forget about scarfe and how that affected her. i always have a fondness for characters going through like... identity crises and questioning their values and sense of self and misty’s arc was so sympathetic and believable and empowering!! since i think she came out stronger for it. 

bushmaster really won me over as an antagonist, mostly because he hit a lot of the points i LIKE to see in villains. ie genuinely sympathetic backstory, a cause that is... in a lot of ways not wrong but hampered by anger or obsession or going too far, genuine love for and investment in the people close to him. and he’s so... idk, naturally charismatic, he was just really compelling to watch at all times. i hope we get to see more of him!! he’s kinda the frank to luke’s matt at this point (although somehow i don’t think he’ll get as much attention as frank, hmmmm) so i’d love to see them bring him back as a kind of anti-hero figure

i also... really love tilda... i actually got totally thrown off by her new backstory and didn’t realize that she was nightshade until the end, but DAMN. she was so good and heartwrenching. i loved her kind of being a moral center amidst everything going on, i loved her relationship with bushmaster, i loved her struggling so much under her family legacy... and the way they tied up her arc cemented her as a really formidable, uh, possible antagonist herself, if that’s the direction they’re going with her (although i hope they give her a better motivation than just “she’s mad luke got the club” because... why would she care?)

mariah was a fucking mess, and i mean that in the best way possible. just... her ability to flip from petty to horrific to pitiable, often in the course of a single episode, is damn impressive. she really just up and lost it and did a lot of unforgivable things this season and yet... whenever they would break her down and remind us of why she is the way she is i still felt for her. what the fuck. 

shades was cool and i liked his stuff with comanche but personally i felt they tried to reel him back too much. it felt kind of ridiculous and inorganic to see him balking at the things mariah did and being like “she’s too extreme!!! ):” after the stuff HE did in season 1, so i wasn’t really moved by that. but i can’t really complain too much because it’s not like he got off scott free or was forgiven in the end

oh yeah, it’s too bad there wasn’t more claire but i understand her wanting to get the fuck out of there. also seeing colleen for a little while was really nice, i love her friendship with misty. also danny... was tolerable, for once.
