I feel like the crossover between "fan of the Divine Cycle seasons of Actual Play Podcast Friends at the Table" and "Enjoyer of the lore from 2016 Game Of The Year Overwatch™ by Blizzard Entertainment" is possibly maybe just me. however.

the God Programs ARE Divines. They are Divines like Resonance, artificial gods of infrastructure. Aurora is a Divine too, though she's something more like Perennial - maybe even like Arbor or the Chimeric Cadent.

it feels crazy to connect them but what Overwatch's lore is about regarding omnics, about gods built by humans and what they could do in the wrong hands or left to their own devices, about what it means to be a person, about autonomy and influence and controlling your own mind and body..... that's all in the Divine Cycle. these two pieces of media could be in such great conversation with each other.

except Friends at the Table is some of the best scifi/speculative fiction content out there and Overwatch's lore is mismanaged and near-nonexistant. 💀
