21 Questions
I was tagged by @zaffrenotes
Rules: Answer 21 questions and then tag 21 (idk 21 people so im not gonna do that) people who you want to get to know better.
Nickname: Nezz, Ned, Nezza, Nezzmay (my mother calls me this lol) and many others that i don’t want to inlcude in this post
Zodiac: I’m a Virgo :)
Height: 5’4
Last movie I saw: Last movie I saw was Aquaman and it was good but it went for too long
Last thing googled: engagement party dresses (for my sister haha)
Favourite musician: I don’t have a favourite musician – the music I listen to varies and I listen to all kind of genres. Pop, R&B, some 80’s music, country, Hip Hop, all those doof doof songs haha. I also like musicals too. But maybe some musicians that I do like are Lady Gaga, Sam Smith, Ed Sheeran and Carrie Underwood
Song stuck in my head: ‘That Song That We Used to Make Love To’ by Carrie Underwood. It’s a cute song and I like it.
Other blogs: I have another one for Choices stuff which is really new (@choicesstan-xx) but I mainly use this one.
Do I get asks: I haven’t really been active on tumblr for a while but ever since I found the Choices fandom on here I’ve been as active as ever haha but no, I don’t get asks (but feel free if you want to).
Following: I’m following a good 867 blogs (I’ve been here for two or three years). Since I’m a fan of many fandoms I follow all of them but I’m thinking of culling some hehe
Amount of sleep: Haha, my sleeping habits are the worst so I don’t end up going to bed until around 2-3am at night and not waking up until 9-10 am so roughly around 5-7 hrs or less (I should stop it because it’s really unhealthy lol)
Lucky number: 4
What I’m wearing: I’m wearing a white tank top and short white bali pants with ball-like tassels on the hem (it's summer in Australia so it's hot 🔥)
Dream job: My dream job would be a writer (author) but also an editor of some sorts. Just reading manuscripts and editing books for the rest of my life would be my dream
Dream trip: Well…I’ve already travelled Europe so I want to do America because it has always intrigued me
Favourite food: Mashed potato
Play any instruments: No instruments. Unfortunately, I never did any extracurricular activities so I’m kind of talentless haha
Languages: English is my first and only language but I am curious about languages so I only know like hello and goodbye in Russian, French, Spanish, Italian – all those little words because they’re easy (and probs the rest of the world knows them too lol)
Random fact: I have actually written a novel but I’ve never got the courage to send it to publishers or self-publish. I mean, I want to publish it but I’m not sure how the reception of it will go. It’s so close to my heart that I’m almost scared to send it off. I feel like it’s not a good book but all my friends and family that have read it have said it’s good but…idk…I’m not sure. I think I need to get over myself and do something about it but yeah…sigh…
Describe yourself as aesthetic things: I’m gonna do a mood board thing too because it’s easier:
Tumblr media
Duck pic so you can read it:
Tumblr media
That's a glimpse of me! :)
Tagging some of you (you might have already been tagged but I’m new to this fandom so..sorry haha): @walkernazario @flowerpowell @maxattack-powell @pixieferry @ao719 @mrs-nazario @drakewalkerwhipped @playpixelberry  @nuhzario @zigortega4life @laniquelovesworld

Produce 101-Joo Haknyeon
I've seen a ton of hate towards Joo Haknyeon, and I mean A LOT, not just lately but for a while now. It's not even constructive at this point anymore, it's just flat out hatred. I've mostly kept my mouth shut, only commenting on this whole issue twice on YouTube. I know the season basically over at this point with only one episode to go but there's some things I just need to express now. Like the saying goes: people are making a mountain out of a molehill.
*This is a LONG post so be prepared if you want to read it*
People have called him greedy
I can understand their point of view. They see this guy who's doing well in the ranks and think he doesn't need to have screen time. However, I do think there needs to be a level of greed when it comes to this industry because if you're quiet things won't just come to you. You need to be vocal. He expressed to Hong Eunki that his ranking has been dropping. He first started out at #4 then went to #8 then #6 then #10. I understand many people will say he's still ranked high so there's no need to be concerned but you can't tell someone that. He sees his rank dropping so his concern is completely understandable and relevant. I understand everyone is in the same boat and wants to be ranked high and wants screen time. This is about a life altering moment here. It's very hard to get your name out there with such a high saturation of Kpop groups in the market. That's why singers/idols who debuted already are on the show. Whether it was their choice or the label's, they see the exposure the show can give them. Now the issue I have is Mnet really edited episode 6 to make it seem like Haknyeon was purposefully trying to sabotage his team. I don't think that's the case because he would suffer as well. This isn't the first time Mnet has done their notorious "evil editing". (Side note: Mnet also allegedly changed the rank cutoff from 22 to 20 for shock value... to show #20 Lai Guanlin was last. Instead of having #22 Kwon Hyunbin was last. Why are we even surprised by this?)  They did it against Kang Dongho in episode 6 when he was on a team with Jung Sewoon, Lee Daehwi and Choi Minki. They tried to create drama between him and Sewoon. They made Dongho seem like a guy with a bad temper. Many people were able to see right through Mnet's editing but why can't you see through the editing when it comes to Haknyeon? People had an issue with episode 9 when Haknyeon wanted to be center. Haknyeon rose his hand to be CONSIDERED for center. He didn't push Takada Kenta off a cliff to become the only option. He was voted as center by his team. When it didn't work out they gave the position to Kim Yongguk, again completely understandable. In my opinion, it was the best option to do so because they only have a few days to learn everything. Now Dongho being the sweet person that he is (see how Mnet really tried to make him seem like a bad guy when he's not) helped Hakyeon out. There's nothing wrong with receiving help. People need help all the time, didn't your friend ever help you study for a test because didn't understand the subject? Or you had to see a tutor or see your teacher after class to have something explained one on one?
People call him untalented
I do think he lacks in areas where other trainees are stronger. I wouldn't go as far as to call him completely talentless though. That's the point of these Kpop labels is it not? They train the trainees in dancing and singing. They invest thousands of dollars into the trainees so they can learn and hope that in return they become successful. There's videos from members of Kpop groups saying so and so member wasn't good at singing or dancing and they improved over time. Haknyeon seems like a slow learner and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. He just needs more time to train and that's up to his label to do. The issue is that in this environment they have a few days to learn lyrics and choreography and he struggles. I'm sure some of your biases are slow learners, you just don't see what goes on behind closed doors because there isn't a camera there. Not everyone can be a powerhouse vocal, there's plenty of Kpop singers who are sub-vocals because they don't have the same range as Taeyeon or Hyorin or Ailee. Again there's nothing wrong with that. People bashed Haknyeon for making mistakes with the dance during the open up performance. I acknowledge that he made mistakes. A lot of people made it bigger than it actually was though. You guys act like you've never seen a Kpop singer make a choreography error. I know my biases have, they don't deserve to be ridiculed for it. I do think that if given ample time he could do well, but obviously they're filming a tv show that's put out weekly, so they don't have the same  luxury as a Kpop group that has months to prepare. I understand people's frustration with him not being able to keep up like others have but I think people need to tone it down a bit.
Purposefully blocking Kim Yongguk
This one REALLY bugs me. There have been SO many comments on this issue and even after clarification posts people STILL bring it up. I'll chalk it up to those people most likely not seeing the posts which is why they continue to bring it up. Haknyeon did NOT block Yongguk. It was the camera angle that caused it to look like he did. That was proven when they performed open up on m countdown. The camera angle was lower during the produce 101 performance and Haknyeon's shoulder was blocking Yongguk, not even his head. If he lowered his head, like so many said he should have done, he possibly would have blocked Kang Daniel, and people would still be upset. People also mentioned how he walked in front of Yongguk when getting into his position for the ending pose. He's suppose to do that. He needs to get to his position for the ending pose. That's an issue that should be taken up with the choreographer not him.

He should have apologized
I do agree with this. Many people just want an apology, even if some think there's nothing to apologize for. Unfortunately, when an issue becomes bigger than it is, sometimes an apology can calm the waters a bit. Not everyone will accept the apology but I'm sure some will. That being said we don't know if he tried to apologize. I mean this is Mnet after all. Ahn Hyungseob apologized and Mnet didn't even air it. I'm not saying Haknyeon did apologize and we didn't see it, I have no proof of that, I'm just saying we don't know. We don't hear every single "thank you" and "I'll work harder" after a trainee's rank is revealed. Just the few that Mnet chooses to air. However, I would like to think that if he did apologize they'd show it but what stopped them from showing Hyungseob's apology? I mean do we really need to further discuss Mnet's editing ability? They edited out Ha Minho to the point where some comments asked which group he performed in. They had no idea he was missing from the performance.
Now onto the hate itself. In my opinion I think it's way too much. I mean I've seen less hate against Ha Minho and he allegedly had relations with minors. Again I want to emphasize allegedly here. I'm not saying it's okay to make death threats towards Minho at all. I'm just stating that Haknyeon hasn't allegedly committed a crime and the hate against him is way worse. I am someone who didn't even really know who Haknyeon was until the hate started. There's so many trainees in the beginning I can't keep up with all of them. But once he started getting hate and articles were being written, I started to obviously notice him. I've seen comments criticize him for his attitude, his talent, his looks and then take it even further and talk about his deceased father and widowed mother. People have really left no stone unturned. Making sexual remarks about him and his mother is disgusting. You can't tell someone to go be with their deceased father and that "the world's air is wasted on you". There's a line that has been crossed and it's concerning. The fact that people are making comments like this when discussing his attitude issues, when they really need to look at themselves and reevaluate their attitudes. You would think that a country with a high suicide rate would be a bit gentler with their words, especially with what's going on with T.O.P from Big Bang. I've also seen people only blame K-fans. I agree that it seems like the worst of the hate is coming from K-fans but I wouldn't call I-fans innocent either. Who are the people that went to Haknyeon's individual camera for open up and disliked the video to the point where the dislike ratio is thousands of votes higher than the likes? Mostly I-fans use YouTube. I've seen comments from I-fans that are extremely rude and when others read that, they think it's ok to continue such hateful behavior and a snowball effect occurs. Just be aware that your words have meaning. Just because you don't physically attack someone but verbally do it, doesn't mean you're not causing harm to them. That doesn't just apply here, that's a lesson that can be applied to anything.
We will find the results of the final line up soon and I just want to say regardless of the results whether he's in the line up or not I hope fans treat him a little bit better. It's okay to criticize someone, I don't have an issue with that. That's how people grow and learn, but the approach many have taken is not the correct way whatsoever. I hope that Haknyeon can continue to improve and grow. I also hope that people can forgive him (even though for SOME things there's no need to be forgiven because there wasn't an issue to begin with) and when/if he debuts people will support him. I hope you will support him like you've supported other Kpop singers who have done things wrong in their past/pre-debut (there's no need to list names). Just be aware that even if you're making your comments anonymously behind your computer screen or phone, someone is reading them, whether it's the person you're criticizing or someone else. The trainees on this show have access to the internet they can see your comments even if they don't fully understand English, they can see that dislike bar. I'm not saying you have to walk on egg shells and be super polite all the time but be aware that your words have weight to them and there's only so much hatred someone can take before it takes a toll mentally on them.
