do you think marcus would get with any of the non-included dbd characters 👀
any headcanons as to who he would get along with the most? the least?
Time for a rousing game of ~Smash or Pass with Marcus!~
Reasons will be brief to keep this from being ten pages long (✿◡‿◡)
The Killers
The Knight : Tarhos ~Smash <3 (Guards all get a pass tho)
The Skull Merchant : Adriana ✨~Not even over my dead body~✨
The Singularity : Hux ~Pass (Sorry, you just don't have the right... equipment ( •_•)>⌐■-■ (⌐■_■)
Xenomorph ~ Smash. Hey, after Dredge, what's one more actual monster?
The Good Guy : Chucky ~ Pass. He's a doll.... Just no... (as previously stated, Chucky will be appearing in STG. I had already planned on this before he was added to DBD, therefore in STG he was never taken by the Entity)
The Unknown : Jim ~ Smash... Does this officially earn Marcus the title of Monster Fucker?
The Lich : Vecna ~Nope! He's like Wesker, but older and somehow even more insufferably self inflated
The Dark Lord (seriously? seriously? -_-) : Dracula ~ Smash! Only in human form though... Get your mind of the gutter ( ͡ಠ ʖ̯ ͡ಠ) (but seriously, the dark lord?)
The Survivors
Vittorio : 🔥🔥🔥Smash🔥🔥🔥 (I wonder if his tattoos glow when he-)
Thalita : Pass. She isn't one to hop into bed with someone she barely knows and he's got a harem of Killers... No.
Renato : Pass. If his sister doesn't like someone, he's going to trust her judgment. Also, same reasons as above.
Gabriel : Smash. He's still making new memories since finding out the truth of his creation, he wants to take a few risks! Live an adventure of his own making! (I know his lore says he doesn't know he's a clone, but I love the idea of him figuring it out at some point and deciding he wants to make real memories and friends for himself)
Nicholas Cage : (This section could not be completed due to the mod laughing too hysterically to write out her thoughts properly)
Ellen Ripley : Pass for her, Smash for him. Marcus has seen the Alien movies too many times to count (not just for the xeno). Actually getting to meet Ripley in person would be like meeting a celebrity. He'd respect her wishes to stay away from her though. He reeks of bad decisions and danger, and the last time that happened, her entire crew died...
Alan Wake : (I know nothing about this character or franchise so this is based purely off of ✨vibes✨) Smash! He looks very haunted. Very smashable. Mhmm.
Sable : Pass. She's already got a girlfriend, thank you very much.
Aestri Yazar : Smash! Bard. Duh. ✪ ω ✪
Baermar Uraz : Smash. But only after much outrage that Marcus had hooked up with the woman he views as his mother...
Lara Croft : Smash. She finds his pathetic charm endearing. And he's surprisingly good in bed for someone who cries at the end of Old Yeller.
Trevor Belmont : Smash. He's moody and broody and needs to fucking kill or fuck someone.

Okay so my insights about Alien: Romulus.
I've been a fan of the xenomorph franchise since 1997 when I first saw Alien Resurrection. It also made me a massive fan of the gorgeous and sometimes deeply disturbing surrealist art of H. R. Giger - to the point that I have his art tattooed on my skin (no, not the usual xenomoprh or the Li painting variants but a less known pieces called Vignettes).
So, back to Alien Romulus from someone who loves the franchise.
In short: Overall a solid 7+ / 10 from me despite some big flaws. If you like xenos; watch it!
Spoilers ahead.
Things I liked:
Solid story. Some say that it's a remake of the original Alien film, but I disagree. What did you expect? It's an Alien film. This is what Alien films are. All of them. I love it. 1. Someone is stupid enough to get an embryo inside a human. 2. Mayhem ensues. 3. A third stupid someone finds the place deserted (and this is where the story begins) 4. Mayhem ensues, again. 5. Final girl scene. Tell me this isn't the basic skeleton behind each and every Alien film. Good. Now can we just enjoy this predictability that's part of the fun?
As someone who's also read all the audiobooks and dramatisations made for the francise that are unconnected to the films plus the original Alien 3 script dramatisation (which is amazing btw, has Lance Henriksen and Michael Biehm playing Bishop and Hicks, warmly recommended listening), this film is a solid expansion of the universe. It explores the franchise universe from its own point of view - even though it includes several nods to the previous films. In my opinion it wouldn't be as good if it didn't have those touching points to the other films and apparently to the games as well.
Gripped my seat so tight that my dog found it uncomfortable to sleep on my lap XD The horror and thrilling parts were exquisite. Perfect execution.
Practical effects in 2024? HELL YES. I need to watch it again just to marvel at them again.
Perfect execution of set design that followed the original designs of the 1979 Alien film. Spot on. Absolutely adored the choice.
With that, including nods to Giger's original, overly sexual designs - perfection. I saw someone complain about it and I thought that they must've not ever checked Giger's art. That's exactly what it is. Call me a freak, but I loved the choice.
Loved the design of the grown xeno hatching from an egg. Every film brings a new fracture of info of the xeno growing cycle into light.
Andy!!! Hello? What a beautiful character. An A++++ performance from the actor. I honestly first thought based on his facial expressions that he was done with CGI. I was amazed when I realized that it was a real human being acting. Mind blown.
Tumblr media
Now, things I didn't like in the film and that were big ones.
Showing where the xenomoprh problem originated and wreaked havoc on the space station - a BIG BIG minus. Part of the enchantment of these films is to learn with the characters what happened. I don't want it to be told to me as the very first thing in the film. Very disappointing choice that took part of the anticipation and horror away from the start.
Why were the face huggers in the fucking freezing pods? I have questions: - couldn't they just freeze the real eggs or were they running out of space on a fricking huge space station? They could've just stored them in a cargo container outside the station in space, in the fucking cold that would've taken care of the freezing. - who the fuck did the job of taking the facehuggers out from the eggs??? When the egg opens, the facehugger wakes up. I need an explanations - Overall: why there weren't any eggs??? They're part of the FUN.
WHERE WAS THE QUEEN WHO LAID THE EGGS???? I need her in EVERY ALIEN FILM. E X P L A I N !!!
Tumblr media
They showed just one corridor leading to the hive? BORING. Show me the whole hive because it's always the only way out. Except this time and...dissapointing.
Acid blood not speading in zero G? It does get force to move from the impact of the bullets, thus it should still spread more violently in zero G and not just stay in place. Especially since in zero G it has nothing else but air that resists it's movement. My mind couldn't buy that.
They already did the humanoid white skinned xeno/human hybrid in Alien Resurrection. They could've invented something new.
Rook's CGI? If I can clearly tell something is CGI while watching on a large screen, it's badly made CGI. Rook was supposed to be a physical, remaining part of a synthetic. They made incredible practical effects for the xenos for this film and already Aliens had great puppet for broken Bishop. Why not go with a puppet instead? It would've been amazing. (To anyone who says they didn't like Rook: watch the original Alien. He IS a piece of shit. You're right in not liking him.)
Okay, I guess I'm done. For now.

Bark bark!! I saw that one of your interests is piercings/tattoos. Me too! Do you have any cool ones to share or ones you want in the future?
OOH OKAY so I'm literally just listing everything I have bc I'm in love with my body mods, pics included!
Piercings!
I have a labret, both nostrils, a septum, and 4 total lobe piercings. My first lobes are gauged up to 00, and my other 2 lobes (both on the same ear) are 8g and 14g. I have a gold/green theme going on with my jewelry. I'm planning on getting my eyebrow, belly button and nipples done, and I want more ear piercings, tho I'm not exactly sure what yet. Also would love love love a bridge piercing but I don't have the anatomy for it, unfortunately :(
Tattoos!
I have the Kingdom Hearts logo on my wrist (very first tat!), a Valkyrie symbol on my forearm (planning on getting a coverup for her, tho), some Fall Out Boy lyrics on my collarbone, a cat skull on my thigh, and a ghost pepper, eyeball sucker, and some fresno night crawlers and ghosts around my ankle! I also recently got my nipples tatted into hearts and I'm in love with them.
I plan on getting more FOB tattoos. My leg with the cryptids will be a spooky/halloween/cryptid leg sleeve, finished up with a sandworm snaking through everything. I want some bat tattoos, possibly thinking of doing a chest piece with one, I want a full back piece at some point, a hyper-realistic blackwork xenomorph arm sleeve, and I'm currently trying to figure out what my tramp stamp is gonna be lol. Also may get some watercolor Gladiolus and Iris flowers on my hipbones! Also a Pokémon tat or two (typhlosion and raikou my beloveds)
Some pics below the cut! TW for eyeball and animal skull.

8. any (i'm assuming the word is 'recurring') dreams?
14. something you've always wanted to do but maybe been too scared to do?
37. share a secret?
8. Recurring Dreams:
OH BOY. They come and go. My favorite part is how they almost always resume where they left off. Or like...the dreams "know" I left and have returned. Uhh some notable or just outright weird ones:
My Xenomorph dreams. I don't know why, but for years I would have an "annual" Xeno dream. Initially it was something like having to try and escape wherever they got released to or survive X amount of time before getting rescued. After my a super close friend of mine and I had a Massive Falling Out, she started to show up in those dreams as somebody I was forced to work with in order to survive. I think the first time that happened, we almost died because of how much I didn't rust her lol. Anyway, I think I had 2 or 3 more dreams involving her and the Xenos and got slightly better at not dying in each of them
There's a town or county that I kind of just hang around in in my dreams if I'm having some dream that's relevant to being in a town or place. I think the most recent dream I had involving that area was visiting some Chinese restaurant that's always been closed whenever I visit that part of town. ... the food was okay.
I used to visit my grandfather's old house/the one I grew up with him having until around middle school. I think shortly after graduating high school the house was sold in dream-land, and I haven't been to it since
14. Something I've always wanted to do but maybe been too scared
Getting a tattoo! I mean, I have to save for it too, but the permanency of it has always freaked me out a bit. And the pain and having TO SIT STILL FOR IT. ... I do have the tattoo figured out at least. Just gotta get over the scared part. The tattoo, by the way, would be of the Starfleet emblem, and it'd be over my chest as if it was a comm badge.
Admittedly, my friend saying he'd slap my chest while yelling HAILING MR. SCOTT or whoever else while the tattoo is in its saran-wrap phase is also a small fear factor lol
37. Share a secret
>.>
<.<
I cheated on my 1st grade spelling test by pretending my pencil case spilled open because I was so horrible at spelling I couldn't spell the word "yellow"

You Look A Bit Flushed
Tumblr media
Halloween is this weekend, and I freaking love Halloween! That’s also why I was so livid to not get to spend last Halloween partying. That was the Halloween on a Saturday that was also a full moon. It would have been the greatest Halloween ever, and the last Halloween I could have gone nuts over, since it was less than a year later that I developed a chronic illness that limits what I can really do. So of course a global pandemic happened, and of course people were too selfish and stupid to wear masks, socially distance, and do whatever was necessary to not spread the virus. And so, between a virus and the selfishness of the average American, I lost out on what would have been my greatest Halloween ever. I am a tiny bit livid. What cheers me up, though, is the fact that there’s going to be a new Ghostbusters movie, like I mentioned in my review of Fright Feature Slimer a while back. To celebrate the new film, and to cash in on people who grew up with the original and can now feel the cold hands of time clutching at their throats, Hasbro is rereleasing some of the toys from the hit 80’s cartoon, “The Real Ghostbusters!” And as someone who loves Ghostbusters, Halloween, and weird toys, I couldn’t pass up the chance to grab today’s figure, “Kenner Classics The Real Ghostbusters Fearsome Flush Retro Figure!” Though I could pass on that long-ass name.
Back in the 80’s and 90’s if a movie came out that had the potential to appeal to kids, it got a toyline and a Saturday morning cartoon, no matter how inappropriate for kids it actually was. That’s how kids got toys of Rambo, Robocop, the Xenomorph from “Alien,” and, of course, the Ghostbusters. The studio saw a ton of potential to make some bank off it, so they put together a decent cartoon that kids adored. The name was a bit weird, but there was a good reason for that. There was an earlier show by Filmation called “Ghost Busters,” which was about two dudes and a gorilla that fought ghosts, which got its own cartoon in the 80’s called “Ghostbusters” (note the new spelling), around the same time as this one. Columbia and DIC Entertainment wanted the show based off the movie to be the one kids thought about and didn’t want to deal with the copyright issues of also calling their cartoon “Ghostbusters,” so, in a clever move that also served as a nice middle finger to Filmation, they called the movie tie-in cartoon “The Real Ghostbusters.”
Kids ate it up, to the point it got an actually decent 90’s sequel, “Extreme Ghostbusters,” which gave me nightmares in my own, long-lost youth. Between that and the movie, this franchise was a gold mine! Kenner, the company that brought us the original Star Wars toys, was tapped to put out a toyline, which, shockingly, was also a hit. The main appeal of it, though, wasn’t the toys of the Ghostbusters themselves. Kenner decided to make figures of ghosts and monsters for our heroes to fight that looked like normal people and things, but could change into horrifying creatures. And let me tell you, there were some weird ones, like a lumberjack, a cop, someone’s grandma, and, of course, a toilet.
Tumblr media
There are so many crappy jokes I could make here, but I’d like to think I’m above that sort of toilet humor.
The Fearsome Flush looks like a toilet. It looks like a really convincing toilet. There really isn’t too much to say there. It’s a toilet with the seat down that looks really convincing, which is what you want for a monster that’s supposed to be disguised as the porcelain throne. The lid does have the Ghostbuster logo engraved on it, which is a bit weird. It’s like the monster has a tattoo of its greatest enemy on it, like if the CEO of Coke had a tattoo of a Pepsi bottle on his ass or I had a tattoo of responsible financial behavior across my chest.
The thing that makes this toy fun, though, is the gimmick. On the bottom of the toilet are two wheels and a little nub for balance. If you roll the toilet forward, the tank flips open to reveal a pair of demonic, angry eyes. The lid flips open to reveal a purple symbol on the bottom and a set of teeth around the seat, while a large red tongue flips out. It looks positively ghoulish, and I love it! Roll the toilet forward to watch the monster parts flip in and out, over and over!
Tumblr media
Considering where his mouth and giant tongue are, this ghost must have done something pretty terrible in life to come back like this.
Fearsome Flush is a really simple toy. Other than the gimmick, there’s no articulation, which makes sense because it’s a toilet with no limbs. It’s a fun, simple toy from the 80’s that was meant to entertain kids. It looks exactly like the style of the cartoon, the toilet mode looks like a toilet, and it’s just a fun, simple toy.
Fearsome Flush and the other Kenner Classics figures are Walmart exclusive figures, with Fearsome Flush going for about $15. Honestly, that feels like a it much to me, though I do understand it’s because of inflation and other economic factors. The figure is aimed at collectors, specifically people who grew up with the cartoon, but the toy would be great for kids, especially those who like weird, gross, and strange things. It’s a demonic toilet with a simple, fun gimmick. Kids would love that. This is JL signing off now and wishing you Happy Toy Hunting!

Ok but like in terms of designs, Gen V is my favourite generation of Pokémon.
Like, it has the most cool and/or cute designs of any generation.
Tumblr media
Aww! Tepig was one of the first Gen V Pokémon I saw, and I loved it!
Tumblr media
Initially, I kinda hated Emboar, but that was mainly because I only liked cute things (I was 10 at the time, don’t bother questioning my logic). Now it’s probably one of my favourite starter evolutions, especially for edits.
Tumblr media
When my brother played Black and White, he went with Oshawott. To this day, he still says that Samurott is the best starter. I don’t disagree.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The enttire Solosis evolutionary line is great. It reminds me of Snom, which is my favourite Pokémon of all time.
Tumblr media
Vanillite is nice. While I also like its evolutions, I don’t like them as much as Vanillite.
Tumblr media
Most Pikaclones are adorable (I personally dislike Dedenne), and Emolga is no exception. Not to mention the fact that it was the start of Pikaclones being dual-type, which is much more interesting than just single-type.
Tumblr media
Karrablast is cute because it’s angry. It looks like it would try to bite me if I picked it up, but it is too helpless to succeed.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Excavalier looks very calm. The snail-like shell is cool since I like snails, and the lance-arms remind me of Beedrill.
Tumblr media
Plus, the snaily knight is also a favourite! I want to pick it up, cuddle it and then calmly put it on the floor.
Tumblr media
Foongus is basically just a Mario mushroom but with a mouth and a Pokéball-themed cap, and that’s why I like it! Also, I like mushrooms.
Tumblr media
I want a real-life Joltik. It’s cute, and was the smallest Pokémon until Gen VI.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Galvantula is cool and pointy and big and AAAAAAAAAAA I WANT ONE AS A MIGHTY STEED!!!
Tumblr media
Ferrothorn originally looked like a UFO, but when X and Y came out its pose was changed to a tripod which, as a fan of classic sci-fi, I really like.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tynamo’s family changes from “oh hey, it’s like a cute version of the Half-Life leeches with a sine-wave tattoo!” to “awww, that’s a cute eel-lamprey-thing!” to “OH GOD ITS EATING MY HEAD AAAAAAA” and still manages to look amazing in each stage.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As mentioned earlier, I like Sci-Fi, so of course I like the non-Legendary Alien Pokémon! Plus, their names are nifty puns; Elgyem for LGM (Little Green Man) and Beeheeyem for BEM (Bug-Eyed Monster)!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Litwick is cute, Lampent is cool and Chandelure is amazing. Plus, I have something interesting planned in regards to Litwick for my next Typescramble post...
Tumblr media
If Tyranitar is Godzilla, then Haxorus is one of the other kaiju. I don’t know which one.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Cubchoo is cute and Beartic looks like it could rip off my face. In Sword, I actually have a Beartic called Elsa which I caught as a Cubchoo while on my way to Wyndon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Golett and Golurk are nice. Just yesterday I caught a Golett and named it after the Zeno Clash 2 character Xotl, which it faintly resembles.
Tumblr media
Braviary is the most American Pokémon, to the point that I actually named one of mine ‘Murica.
Tumblr media
I like anteaters and I like flamethrowers, so of course I like Heatmor. It’s great!
Tumblr media
Hydreigon is nice, especially the reference to its original design with the stripes on its stomach. Also, it’s a hydra, which I enjoy because I like classical mythology.
Tumblr media
And lastly, Genesect. It’s a Jurassic Park Predator/Xenomorph! That’s, like, three classic Sci-Fi films (although I’ve only seen one of them so far, but hopefully that will change soon!).

Normal asks! 7, 16, 28, &29!
7 - If you had the chance to get a single, free tattoo of any size or intricacy right now, what would you want it to be of?
I have so many ideas for tattoos, but I haven’t managed to get any yet. So, I’ve always wanted my first tattoo to be the band leader on the Black Parade cover art. Mostly because MCR/that album has gotten me through a lot.
16 - Are you the kind of person to fantasize about getting into fights?
Not really, no. Maybe if I’m anxious about the outcome of a conversation I need to have, I’ll try to think of all the ways it could end in a fight and try to avoid that. I avoid confrontation whenever possible, though.
28 - What’s your favorite classic horror monster?
I love werewolves and vampires. But I’ve also always been partial to Godzilla or the xenomorphs.
29 - Do you know any songs that you would classify as scary or disturbing?
None that I find scary, but I do like ones that are disturbing or maybe unsettling. Like Secret by The Pierces or even the funny, disturbing ones like Re: Your Brains by Jonathan Coulton.

Once Upon A Time There Was A Girl Who Really Loved Frogs And Tattoos And Said Fuck A Lot shirt
Tumblr media
I am a big horror movie fan Once Upon A Time There Was A Girl Who Really Loved Frogs And Tattoos And Said Fuck A Lot shirt . The first one that I remember is Alien. Maybe because it was the first one to really plant fear in me. I’m sure I’m not the only one. The cult classic was the best of its kind and the ’79 movie is still nerve wrecking after all this time. The director (Ridley Scott), the amazing performance of Ripley (Sigourney Weaver), the creator of the alien (HR Giger), are the first names that come to mind, the ones that defined the horror genre. It defined what mean to be scared and admire such feeling while watching a movie. I remember the following two movies but nothing from the other sequels (from “Alien Resurrection” forward) , which means they weren’t up to expectations. I was quite disappointed and felt that it altered the legacy of the first movie.Once Upon A Time There Was A Girl Who Really Loved Frogs And Tattoos And Said Fuck A Lot shirt, hoodie, sweater, longsleeve and ladies t-shirt

Cloth Face Mask So, I was skeptical about Prometheus, but I embraced the perspective of a prequel to the Ripley story Once Upon A Time There Was A Girl Who Really Loved Frogs And Tattoos And Said Fuck A Lot shirt . I also enjoyed it thanks to director Ridley Scott. The engineers and the origin of the xenomorph are intriguing, a real challenge to put forward for the Alien fans. At times I felt it missed the mark, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The latest movie, Alien: Covenant was entertaining. I loved the inclusion of xenomorhp’s point of view, the disturbing scenery of the “lost paradise” and the theme of creation. In honor of the great Alien universe I wanted to round up a few t-shirt designs that pay tribute, poke fun at or reinterpret the story and characters. Here are my favorite pop cultureA little change of style.

Tag fiesta
Tagged by @dreadhobo. Thank you!
Were you named after anyone?
Not exactly? My mom was friends with a Japanese couple who had a daughter named Hana, and my mom loved the sound of it so much she named me Hannah.
When was the last time you cried?
Probably within the past few days. I cry a lot. Pretty much any strong emotion, negative or positive, can make me cry.
Do you like your handwriting?
Not at all. I’m actually extremely self-conscious about it. What’s your favorite lunch meat?
I have never been much of a lunch meat fan. It kinda tastes fake to me.
Do you have kids?
No, and I can say with almost complete certainty that I never will.
If you were a different person, would you be friends with you?
I hope so. I’m not great at initiating friendships, though.
Do you use sarcasm?
I’m a big fan.
Do you still have your tonsils?
Yes
Would you bungee jump?
No
What’s your favorite cereal?
I can’t eat cereal anymore. Back when I could, I preferred hot cereal - oatmeal or grits.
Do you untie your shoes when you take them off?
I don’t own any shoes with laces for OCD reasons.
Do you think you are a strong person?
In some ways. My mental health struggles have often made me feel weak, but those struggles have been severe enough that only some kind of inner strength could have kept me alive this long.
What’s your favorite ice cream?
I also can’t eat ice cream anymore. Banana was my favorite, though.
What’s the first thing you notice about people?
Gender expression, usually.
What’s your least favorite physical thing about yourself?
My breasts are way too big. They have been a source of shame and physical pain since I was a teen.
What color pants and shoes are you wearing right now?
Blue jeans, no shoes
What are you listening to right now?
Nothing, actually.
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
I don’t remember what any crayon colors are called, but I’d probably be a shade of blue.
Favorite smell?
Fresh pumpkin bread
Who was the last person you talked on the phone with?
@heretic-borne
Favorite sport to watch?
Figure skating
Hair color?
I honestly don’t know. I have individual strands ranging from pale blonde to bright red to dark brown. If you wanted to be kind you could call it a dark strawberry blonde, I guess.
Eye color?
Deep blue Do you wear contacts?
No
Favorite food?
The aforementioned pumpkin bread. But since I can’t eat that anymore, then I’ll go with steak.
Scary movie or comedy?
I tend to find comedies as scary as horror movies. When Hollywood stops trying to pretend that bodily fluids are funny, I might change my mind. But since I am easily grossed out and pathologically terrified of vomit, I'm going to keep avoiding both genres.
Last movie you watched?
I watched Alien and Aliens with my dad last weekend. Shut up, those aren’t scary movies. No one pukes (except an android, kinda). Also, I like xenomorphs better than most people. No guns, no drama, no bickering among themselves. Role models, tbh.
What color shirt are you wearing?
Black
Summer or winter?
Autumn. Summer and winter are both evil and should die. Spring is okay but it gives me allergies.
Hugs or kisses?
Hugs. I don’t quite understand kisses.
Book you’re currently reading?
The Stolen Throne and Foxglove Copse (that’s two books, just to be clear)
Who do you miss right now?
Too many people to list! Just to name a few: @apassingshadow, @galadhir (even though I’ve never met you in person, I’m still allowed to miss you), @the-tattooed-duck (I saw you this afternoon, but it wasn’t for long enough)
What’s on your mouse pad?
Red, black, and white stripes. Exciting, I know.
What’s the last TV program you watched?
A Hallmark mystery with my mom. I wandered into her room to lie on her bed for a while (I was loopy and exhausted and in need of company), and I saw the first part of the show. I told mom who the killer was, and then I had to stick around until the end to see if I was right (I was).
What’s the best sound?
When the music swells in a really emotional song. Bonus points if the song has a good female singer.
Rolling Stones or The Beatles?
Neither
What’s the furthest you ever traveled?
Oregon, USA
Do you have a special talent?
I think I write fairly well, at least when I can get words on the page (writing involves a constant battle with my anxiety and inattentive ADHD). I’m probably a better editor than a writer, though, and I wish I could turn that into a career. I’m also a decent singer, maybe?
Where were you born?
Durham, North Carolina, USA

Talks Machina Highlights - Liam’s Quest Part 2
This week’s Denise message: “If you were at Wondercon I was right beside you the whole time.”
No Talks Machina next week! Brian and Ashley will be on vacation. Marisha hints that there might be “a thing” in place of the show next week.
Advance heads-up on the new Vox Machina shirt! Info for buying will be on Thursday.
Little segment filmed at WonderCon where Brian quizzed CR cosplayers with a variety of trivia questions, including, of course, “What is Scanlan’s mother’s name?”
Travis abandoned the party four times in this episode. (everyone starts singing “True Colors”) The word “sausage” was uttered seven times, and the word “spaghetti” five times.
Brian brings a picture of himself as a teenager to make everyone feel better about their own pictures that’ve been circulating since the episode. Travis: “Is that sharpie on your chin?”
Liam started planning this game before Stranger Things came out, so it was a bit more inspired by “It”.
A long time ago, Liam sent pictures of himself as a teenager to everyone in the text thread and they all responded by sending their own childhood/teen pictures back to him, but he couldn’t find that thread when he was setting up the oneshot. He had excellent one-line notes he sent to the artist for each of them.
Travis: “I might’ve tried to fight something, but I had no weapons. I had an inhaler.”
Liam: “I felt like I balanced it really well with a party of level ones and a demogorgon.”
The oldest kids in the game were the youngest IRL; it was just a switch.
Brian asks how intimidating it was to have Matt as a player. “Answer your question as though he weren’t sitting to my left in pajama pants.”
Kid!Liam was the dead body under the tree. The old man was also Liam. The idea was that Liam kept trying to be there with them through the dimensional shift, but there was already one Liam in that particular time, so squish.
One of the few places where there could’ve been a big divergence in the plot was if they’d managed to sneak up on old man Liam--he would’ve traveled with them.
Liam to Marisha: “Oldest or youngest, you’re still the toughest motherfucker in this group.”
Travis running away throughout the episode was true to life: he ran out of The Neverending Story, Jurassic Park, wouldn’t ride roller coasters, and didn’t see an R-rated movie until he was like 15. Marisha mentions that his reactions at Horror Nights are worth the price of admission.
Everyone got to pick their classes for the oneshot. Ashley picked rogue because it felt like what she would’ve been like IRL. Liam: “But you surprised us all and smeared yourself in blood and gore and screamed at the devil.” Everyone agrees that there may have been a multiclass there.
Unexpected things on Liam’s end: wasn’t expecting Ashley to be as metal as she was. Wasn’t expecting all the bowing to Satan. He wants to keep some of it ambiguous, but the group didn’t behave exactly the way he thought they would at the end.
The crew was in on the last five seconds, but the lead-up defined what those last five seconds would mean. He’d thought about continuing the metaverse thing indefinitely, but with the way it wound up ending, he thought it was a pretty satisfying finale.
Marisha: “I’m an utter dumbass--” Ashley: “No, you’re not!” Long pause. Marisha, turning to Travis: “I’m an utter dumbass--” Travis: “Yes, you are.”
Ashley and her best friend put a full bottle of dish soap in the fountain outside the courthouse in Burbank. It bubbled up way more than they expected and was on the news. That was the tamest story she could tell from her teenage years.
Liam randomly selected which of them would die first in the demogorgon fight.
Brian asks Matt whether experiencing a TPK as a character made him less inclined to possibly cause a TPK with the main campaign. Matt, offscreen: “No.”
Marisha has a new tattoo on her wrist that’s the death saving throws indicator from the 5e character sheets.
Liam describing Marisha’s reaction to being squished: “It was like seven stages of grief... and then the bird over and over again.”
Liam got ideas from Neil Druckmann for specific lines to use to mess with Ashley.
It was a little over 20 minutes total of the speak-and-spell voice. Liam knew going in that Travis in particular would just lose it, which made it easier to slip in the more intense stuff. He’d had a lingering cough for a few weeks and was worried he wouldn’t be able to do the voice because he knew the scene wouldn’t quite have the same sort of tragicomic punch without it.
The crew was cued in on the phrase “Are you guys ready to play?” at the end.
Everyone agrees that they would’ve been good friends had they met as kids.
Liam on advice for new DMs who are nervous about trying something really off-the-wall. “If you’re scared of something, that’s what you should be moving towards.” Liam missed a window to say something to someone he lost last year, and so this game was his chance to come right out and say what he wanted to say most to these people.
Brian talks about Critical Role has always been about choosing your own family, and how that really shone through in the one-shot. “It was brilliant storytelling and execution... and executions.”
Talks Machine in the dark:
Liam first did the speak-and-spell voice when he was eight or nine years old. His son can do it, too. Travis tries to do it and goes a little Wookie instead.
As a ranger, Travis would have an otter companion because he loves otters so much. Everyone immediately reenacts the cute otter videos they’ve seen.
A Youtube ad for cheese dippers starts playing on the screen with the fireplace. Chaos ensues.
Marisha has a lot of dreams of the cast getting caught in a tsunami or a flood. Liam and Ashley have both dreamt of the cast just playing D&D.
At the next charity stream, Brian will let the cast decide what he should wear for an episode of Talks Machina.
Liam on Sam vs. Matt’s respective Vicious Mockeries: “Sam’s are more dopey zingers, and Matt’s... made me really feel bad.”
Everyone likes pineapple on pizza except for Marisha and Brian.
In terms of fighting classic horror-genre movie baddies, Ashley and Liam want to fight Xenomorphs, Travis wants to fight Freddy, Marisha wants to fight It.

Sharon Needles, Max, Jinkx Monsoon?
Sharon Needles: Do you like horror movies?I like old horror movies and the Alien series is SUPER important to me but I do not like modern horror movies very much I'm just not into it. Me and my dad usually watch a old horror/sci-fi horror movie each week on Svengoolie. I'm planning on getting Alien related tattoos I really want a favehugger on my arm and I would like to get the Xenomorph and maybe in the Xenomorph tattoo have Ripley. I also want a tattoo of the Gillman from The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Max: What would you describe your 'aesthetic' as?Comfortable punk that always has paxpaint on her handsJinkx Monsoon: What do you think makes you unique?I never really know how to answer these questions because i just honestly don't know. I know I am a unique person it's just hard for me to pinpoint why. I mean I got super excited today because I purchased "professional dirt" for effects stuff so that's a special kind of person I guess.
