Frak threw his whole life away because of what Arin said.

Arin was the one who told Frak about the gong, and about Ras being evil, and Frak listened. He threw away his training because, deep down in his heart, he believed Arin’s judgement, even if in the moment he was sure Ras was a good master. Frak lost his master in that moment, but he did it for the good of himself, because he knew he could trust that Arin was trying to help him.

And yet, there Arin went, joining the person Frak had been warned was such a horrible person. Oh, the irony.
