Idk I thought this idea might be cute:
Rin, Shima and any of the other cram school kids: their crush falls asleep on their shoulder while studying 🥺
🩵😺
Hello!
Thank you for requesting ad forgive for the delay! Ihave been extremily busy at work :c
Anyway! I hope you enjoy what i have to offer, please let me know what you think!
Tsuki's note: Reader is a exorcist here. Also i picked Ryuji. For Shima's i will let you run wild with whatever shennanigans you may think they went through.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Rin
You often helped Rin study.
It didn't even need to be close to exam week for you to be with him, studying.
The boy was trying his best!
Doing his homework with you and stuff.
Today you were helping him with some extra work Yukio gave him - according to his little brother, Rin's grade were too bad and he needed extra lessons to fixate the subject.
you had explained it to him a couple of times and was just watching him do the quizzes.
You were exhausted. You had recently come back from a mission, but you insisted on helped Rin.
Yukio only gave two days to finish the regular work + extra, so...
You were peaking over his shoulder to take a look at his answers.
At time you would make him questions to confuse him on purpose - If he truly learned, then he would be able to correct you or question you.
Which he did fairly ok.
As he went on getting the quiz right you started to feel your heavy.
It didn't help he was really warm - like a fuzzy blanket.
You also felt safe, much so people dismay.
You soon fell asleep.
Rin notice your lack of replies as he asked you a question.
He turned his head to see you leaning on his shoulder.
Your cheek were pressed against the side of his arm and you were snoring lightly.
Rin chuckled to himself calling you a silly person for coming to help him even though you were so tired.
He also felt his face burn and reach 5 shades of red. But his stare at you was very kind and loving.
He thought a little bit what he should do - stay still or carry you to his bed?
He finally made his mind that allowing you to rest on his bed would be the best for your back and neck.
Rin gently lifted you on his arms and placed you as carefully as he could on his bed.
You showed signs of being kind of awake, but Rin soon soothed you while covering you with a blanket.
The boy admired you for a moment there then, in jolted , decided to try hard at his work for your sake!
By the time you woke up, Rin was fast asleep on his table, but all of his assignment were done. A bit wet from his drooling but done.
Your turn to place a blanket around him.
And so you went with Kuro to fetch something for you three to eat.
Shima ( Renzo)
You were helping him study to catch up on a pushiment that Yukio gave him - to a write a massive essay about a very rare and specific demon.
The boy could be a massive coward at times and have a terrible grade.
Other times he was oddly brave and clever, go figure.
Renzo was whinnying the whole time about how unfair this was - he wasn't the only involved in the incident, the other boys were there too!
You sighed and hit his head with rolled paper sheet - no use complaining now, what is done, is done.
You were helping read the books to gather info on this demon, but his attention wasn't that great, he often flirted with you.
He eventually complained you were being too cold with him by just giving the books some attention.
So you decided to sit next to him - shoulder touching shoulder.
This made him blush a bit and get his ears red.
The boy still played it cool, kinda of.
Being this close you pointed out things for him to take note about the demon.
It was a lengthy and tiring process.
Finally he had all the notes, just had to write in an essay shape!
While he was at it, Renzo would sometimes chitchat about something with you.
You were leaning your head on the palm of your hand and soon enough your eyes got heavy.
You ended up dozing off and your head slightly leaning on the boy's shoulder.
The sudden tough made him call for you.
No answer. No called again and looking to his side, only find you gently leaning on his shoulder sleeping.
Renzo laughed to himself, he thought you were so so cute for dozing off like that.
He tried to stay still to best of his powers!
Often times he would think about grabbing our other hand - it was in sight and not far.
Just imagining how nice it would be if he could actually hold your hand....
These thoughts made his ears go red and silly appear on his face.
He allowed you to stay there until you woke up.
By the time you did he, once more, tried a picked up line along of " i didn't know you felt THAT safe, maybe i am your knight in shinning armour"
Which you replied by going red, slapping his head and walking away.
Completely worth it, on his eyes. Your cute blushing face was the high point of the day.
Ryuji
Neither of you needed that much help studying.
You met Ryuji in the school's yard.
He said he had to study "in peace" which probably meant he wanted to be alone or away from Rin and Renzo.
You offered to make him some company!
He reluctantly agreed, to your surprise - as long as you stay quiet, that is.
You decided to read a book while he studied on the yard.
At first you were seated next to each other, but then with time you ended up leaning on his shoulder.
Ryuji was surprised by feeling you lean on his him so suddenly, to the point of complaining about it.
You giggled and explained your reasoning.
As a response you got a sigh from him and a red ear, even though you couldn't see it.
The shade of the trees and the breeze made you fall asleep.
At one point Ryuji called out to you, he wanted to stretch a bit.
You didn't reply.
He called again and look at you, only to find you slightly snoring sleeping.
He sighed again and just watched you for a moment.
His face heating up.
The boy finally decided to let you be.
His arm was tingling, but you looked awfully peaceful.
It took him a while to go back to studying - you were so distracting.
When you woke up, Ryuji teased you without taking his eyes out of the book - " hey, you up sleeping beauty?"
the reason why his eyes didn't raise from the book is because his face would burn at the sight of you.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for reading!
I hope you have enjoyed!

I've been on an adventure since yesterday.
When my late mother bought a car and effectively turned it over to me because she wasn't driving any more, she disallowed road trips because she was afraid of the car breaking down out of town. So for something like seven years I've been planning that, once I'd inherited the car like I did in May, I would take a day trip and have Steak & Shake for lunch. There are none in Omaha so I don't think I've had Steak & Shake since I last went with my late wife to Iowa City for her to take the Iowa bar exam. The delay worked to my advantage because now there's one in West Des Moines, only a little over two hours away, that wasn't there yet the first time I looked (the closest one then was on I-29 in Missouri somewhere), and I lived the dream a few weeks ago, mostly.
I was telling the story to my sister's and brother's families last weekend while they were in town for clearing out Mom's apartment, and afterwards I took it into my head to look up where the nearest White Castle restaurant is. (You can get brand name sliders from your grocer's freezer but it's not the same.) The answer was Columbia Missouri. I don't think I've eaten at a White Castle since I lived in Louisville so yesterday afternoon I set out, thinking - not having looked at the online map too carefully - that Omaha to Columbia would also be two hours one way, probably less.
I was wrong. It took me five and a half hours, including rest breaks. If I'd been thinking, even when I thought it'd be a round trip of about six hours (including the meal), I'd've left at about noon like I did on Steak & Shake Day instead of at about 14:00. It probably didn't help that I hit Kansas City at rush hour (I'd been thinking that that would happen on the way back) but it probably didn't hurt all that much either.
I had my meal about 19:30 and then (having started considering this option shortly after realizing how far it was between Omaha and Kansas City, and then deciding on this option shortly after realizing how far it was between Kansas City and Columbia) I got a hotel room and put off driving back till today.
Will I do it again? Not soon.
But was it worth it? Yes.
For one thing, before I left Columbia I had lunch at the Steak & Shake down the street from the White Castle. Also I saw a lot of cows

Whumptember 15th: Broken Bone
Oh my! I'm so sorry everyone. I got so busy yesterday that I forgot to upload my story! So here's yesterday's story and as an apology and because we are halfway through Whumptember, today's post may get a little spicy. I don't know if it will be full smut, but I'm going to at least try to add some steam. Sorry again for the delay in this one and I hope you like it! --Anna

You rushed through the doors to the emergency room, walking up to the main intake desk.
“Can I help you?” The lady at the desk asked without looking up from her computer.
“Yes. My son was brought in about thirty minutes ago.”
“What’s the name?” She asked, still seemingly uninterested.
“Theodore Y/L/N”
Upon hearing your answer, she finally looked up. You could see the wheels turning in her head.
“Y/L/N? Is your son around 10 years old?” When you nodded your head yes as her question, she continued. “You know that the Winter Soldier brought him in right?”
You felt your anger spike. “He’s not the Winter Soldier. His name is Sergeant James Barnes. Please address him as such. Now can I please see my son?”
At your response, her face turned red in embarrassment. “Of course, my apologies. If you’ll follow me please.”
She led you down the hallway to an exam room. Knocking on the door, she then opened it and motioned for you to step inside. Inside was your son, Bucky, and someone who you imagined to be the physician on call. As soon as Bucky saw you, he breathed a sigh of relief, however, you could tell that he was still stressed and nervous.
“Mom! The doctor said I need a cast and I get to pick the color for it!” Your son seemed cheerful and excited and in less pain than you expected, which you were grateful for.
“That’s great Teddy! Be thinking of what color you want while I talk to the doctor for a bit.” You said as you placed a kiss on his forehead and went to sit next to Bucky, taking his metal hand in yours.
The doctor spent the next few minutes explaining that your son had broken his Ulna but luckily the fracture was relatively clean and wouldn’t need surgery to correct anything. A simple plaster cast for the next 6 weeks. After that, they would x-ray it again to see how it was healing but that it shouldn’t need recasted. He said that Bucky had done a good job immobilizing and icing the break before they got to the hospital. It probably saved your son some pain and also kept the injury from getting worse. Bucky forced out a smile but it didn’t reach his eyes. The doctor said that someone would be in shortly to apply his cast and he exited the room.
Your son was busy playing games on his tablet while he waited to get his cast. You turned to Bucky and stared at him long and hard. “What’s going on Buck? I can practically see your wheels turning.” You were still holding his hand and gently caressed the back of his hand. You knew he could feel it but he didn’t acknowledge it.
“I’m so sorry, Y/N. We were busy running around the playground and being wild. I should have been more careful. I saw him lose his balance but I couldn’t get to him fast enough.” He shook his head and seemed really upset by the whole scenario.
“Bucky…” You tried to get him to look at you and he just kept looking down at his lap, chewing on side of his cheek.
“James.” You said more firmly, using a bit of your “mom” voice. Even your son looked up for a moment, until he realized that you weren’t talking to him. He finally looked up at you, his eyes filled with apprehension and guilt.
“None of this is your fault. He’s a kid, and a rambunctious one at that. This is not his first time in the ER for something like this, and I highly doubt it will be the last.” You smiled at him kindly. “Do you remember when he chipped two teeth playing hockey last winter? Or when he sprained his ankle trying to jump from one couch to the other. Kids get hurt. It wasn’t anyone’s fault. Especially not yours. If anything, you being there kept him safer. He is less hurt and in less pain because you were there and knew what to do.”
He still hadn’t responded, but you nudged him a little with your shoulder. “Hey, I mean it. Thank you. I would have been so much more scared if you hadn't been there with him. I love you.” He finally smiled at you and you could see that he was starting to relax.
You held his hand and rested your head on his shoulder as you waited for the orthopedic tech to come in and cast your son’s arm. When they finally came in, they asked your son what color cast he was going to pick.
“Black.” He said very assuredly. The tech nodded their head and went about wrapping his arm in gauze and padding.
“Really? I thought you would have gone for blue or green?” You questioned him, knowing that those were his favorites.
He shook his head. “No. I want black.”
“Well, okay then.” You let him have his pick. It was his arm anyway.
“Hey mom, before we go home can we go to the craft store?”
“What for, bud?”
“I want a gold paint marker.”
“Why?” You asked him, confused.
“I want to put lines on my cast. That way Bucky and I can match.” He said with the biggest smile on his face.
“W-what?” Bucky sputtered out his question, taken aback by your son.
“Well, my cast is on my left arm and I thought it would be cool to match arms. I mean, if you’re okay with that.” He gave Bucky a small smile, hoping that he hadn’t crossed some line.
“Y-yeah, bud. I’m okay with that. I mean…if your mom says it’s okay.” Bucky looked at you, his eyes slightly misty as he felt your son's love for him. You smiled bigger than you had in a long time.
“I think that sounds like a great plan.”

Can I get rick grimes x gender neutral reader
The reader was an elite solider in the U.S army when the virus happened. They been traveling the South for five ½ years alone. So now they landed in Georgia when the Saviors and Rick Group are at war. One day Rick is attacked by the Saviors, but the reader saves Rick from the Saviors with a rifle but escapes before Rick ever notices. Days later the reader meets Rick (like how Jesus met Rick.) But Rick captures the reader and interrogates him. In the end Reader reveals how he saved Rick. Rick then forces the reader work/live with the group even though the real.

The sun had set hours earlier but that didn’t stop you. Unrelenting you continued through the heat and the exhaustion. You couldn’t stop. Not now. Not after everything you had gone through. Even before this, you wouldn’t allow yourself to stop. Being one of America’s pride and joys serving as a respected sergeant. You had served 10 years before the world went to shit and it made you laugh now. You always thought that the meaning of your life - the purpose - was to protect and serve against threats to the U.S.A. If only you knew that your greatest threat was against the dead now living. You were grateful, more than anything. You had a lot more in this world than others did. And now 5 1/2 years later you were still going. Never stopping. Not for anything.
Except... when you caught wind of a certain curly-haired man. He was being attacked and was substantially outmanned. You thought the best use of your time was to protect people just like you had in your previous life. The man was cornered now by the time you’d made the decision to help him. Three men dressed in leather charged him with any weapon they could find. He fought against them - to the best of his ability. Which seemed to be skilled at least. You gripped your trusty rifle, aimed the scope and without hesitation fired.
One man fell.
Then the next.
And then the last.
The blue-eyed man scoured the area for you, curious about the location of the shots. You, however, were smarter than that. You didn’t know this man. You didn’t know if he deserved what those men would’ve done to him but you did know trust is to be earned in this world not given carelessly. You ducked away out of his vision. But you never strayed far from the man.
You could say curiosity got the better of you. Naturally and from a very young age, you’d always pester, investigate, fight for answers when they really weren’t warranted. Your mom used to tell you how curiosity killed the cat but you preferred to say it saved the cat. Being curious never hurt anyone and it certainly came as an advantage to you. When meeting people you knew how to hide, how to watch. And yes it may be creepy but it was necessary. You weren’t stupid, far from it, so why stop your ways now?
The man didn’t return back to a camp after the attack - one that you knew he had due to his clean and well-presented appearance. He continued through the area, meeting up with a tall brooding man accompanied with a crossbow. The two seemed close. Although despite how few words conversed between them, you knew they were. If either of them fell into some trouble the other protected. They were family - maybe not blood - but no doubt in your mind we’re they like brothers.
It had been days now and these men were still on their run. By this time you were even doubting if this was worth it but you shook off the thoughts and continued. It wasn’t your intention to draw attention to yourself. Hell, it was something you were taught against. But it happened. You, rather carelessly, stumbled across them. It all happened so fast. You saw someone in the woods - walker maybe. But at that moment you decided against your inner workings and ran. Stupidly you ran straight into this man.
“Watch it,” He growled pushing you back slightly. They glared at you threateningly, guns were drawn.
“Wha’ ta hell ya doin’?” The crossbowman snapped. His deep southern accent growing darker through his words. He was on edge. It being clear that interactions like this hadn’t always been a blessing.
“Was just passing through. Calm yourself, alrigh’?”
Unimpressed he looked to the blue-eyed man who was fixed on your stance. “You looked in a hurry. Trouble heading this way?” The man inquired warily.
“Nah not really,” You paused looking back to the area, “Well maybe I'm not sure.”
“Not sure? What's back there?” He looked at you suspiciously hand still grasped around his colt python. You didn't say anything to them as a sound overcame the atmosphere. It sounded like a twig, perhaps just a wondering dead but they didn't see the rational side. "Who are you? Who are you with?" The blue-eyed man barked edging the pistol closer to your face.
"Hey, chill man. My names y/n, alright? And I'm not with anyone. I'm on my own, okay?" The men shared a look before turning back to you unbelievingly. You opened your mouth to justify your case but was interrupted by a smack to the side of your head. You fell to the ground, gazing at the two men still.
And then... nothing.
~
Hours later your eyes snapped open. Alert, you searched through the room. It was a cell. A traditional one with an iron gate. One you knew from past experience weren't the easiest to break out of. Especially after spotting a man floating around the exit. "Hello?" Your head burned as you spoke likely due to a concussion but you powered through it. The man stopped pacing and glared at you. He was a dark-skinned man, holding what looked like a stick. But the main thing was that he was clean. You had noticed earlier how the two men didn't look as ragged and dirty as you did. Telling you they had a home. Now seeing him proved it.
"Hello," He said back, "Names Morgan, yours?" Your rational side shut your mouth for you. You didn't know these people. Hell, they kidnapped you. They didn't deserve your name. And you resented how you caved earlier and told those people. "Not much of a speaker, huh?" Again silence, "You didn't have to be afraid of me. I won't hurt you."
Begrudgingly you responded, "I'm not afraid of you." "Your not?" "No, I'm not. Not of you. Not of those men who brought me here. Not of anyone," Morgan almost laughed at your response.
"You're quite brave, aren’t you?" You shrugged etching a smile on his face, "you'll fit right in here."
"Who says I want to stay?" You countered. "I have a feeling," He smirked before another person entered the room.
"They awake?" Morgan nodded and exited.
The blue-eyed man from earlier entered your view. No words were exchanged between the two of you. You understood he still perceived you as a threat, which you knew you very well could be. You'd do what you have to. That's what you told yourself. After years of service to the army that swam around your mind like a mantra. You'd done some horrific things for your country now and before but you didn't let it rot you to the core like your comrades. You did what you had to. There was never an exception. So if these people decided to try something you'd do what you have to.
"Who are you?" He interrogated swiftly. Telling you that this wasn't his first rodeo. He was a cop or maybe even in the army like you.
"I already told you," Coldly you returned.
"Yeah well, I don't believe you," He persisted.
"I don't entirely know what you want me to do with that," you scoffed, "I can't force you to believe me. But I know my name. I know I'm alone. I know I don't mean to bring harm to your people unless I have to."
The man grunted. He hated how he began to believe you slightly. "Why were you running then?"
You sighed, "I was following you."
"You were following us?" He growled, "Why?"
"You were attacked. Those men I killed them," You revealed, "I was curious. So I followed you. I saw a walker or maybe it was a person... I don't know. I ran and bumped into you. That's all. I have no ulterior motive."
"Just because you tell me you have no ulterior motive doesn't make me inclined to believe you," He let out a harsh breath.
"What more do you want, huh? Want me to do a polygraph?"
He chuckled, "No. Of course not. But I don't trust you."
"So let me go," You promoted.
"I can't do that," he shook his head erratically.
"Why not?"
"You're valuable. If what you say is true that you did save me. Then I... we can't let that go, alright?"
You gaped at his confession, "So you're gonna force me to stay here?"
"Not exactly... we'd prefer if you did from your own will but if we have to," He quirked his eyebrow at you, "What do you say?"
Sarcastically you laughed at his proposition, "You're crazy."
"No, I'm Rick. Rick Grimes. And this," Rick gestured to your surroundings, "is Alexandria. Hopefully your new home."
"How do you know I'm not gonna kill you all in your sleep?" You furrowed your eyebrows at his naivety.
"I have faith that you won't. I searched you when you were out," He went into his pocket pulling out a medal you had gotten for serving in Iraq, "A soldier? I was a sheriffs deputy myself and I know I wouldn't have it in me to kill all the people in here - the children. I know you wouldn't either."
"You're right I wouldn't but... but we're not the same, Rick. We never will be," Rick tilted his head.
"I know," He spoke honestly, "But I feel like we're similar. You'd do a lot to save someone you'd never met. That's someone we'd like in Alexandria. Y/n you saved me. And I know you can save a lot more. So what do you say?"
You sighed moving closer to the cell door, "Okay."

𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐲 (𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭!𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐥 𝐉𝐚𝐜𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐱 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫!𝐆𝐍!𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫)
[FLUFF] Word Count: 2083 words It’s a very hot day out in the field, which is unfortunate since ground operations are currently ongoing today. You were hoping to delay the operations further down another term, but unfortunately, the backlog operations from the pandemic were ridiculous, so you decided to take your missed simulations all in one day. What a shame that you had to choose the hottest day of the year, it seems. So now here you are, sitting on a chair in the giant hangar as you wait for your head instructor to come back with your assigned instructor for your ground operations. The shade from the hangar may be some comfort, but it truly felt like the heat was bouncing off the asphalt. You quietly pray that it would not affect the aircraft you need to taxi, and hope that it would be a little cooler in the aircraft.
Probably not. It’s a single-engine aircraft. The metal might exacerbate the heat for you. You sigh out your discomfort and looked around. Around you were a bunch of different aircraft, some of the models you recognize from your classes. You hold back a small grimace, as you remember the last time you did your aircraft taxiing, your instructor pilot was a bit strict on your taxi control, requiring you to stay perfectly in the middle of the runway for the taxi. It was a miracle you passed that term. God, it feels like it has been 10 minutes since you last saw your head instructor. But he seemed to have disappeared out of nowhere. You just hope that the pilot assigned to you was a decent one. “Excuse me?” You turn around to find yourself staring at one of the newer pilots you saw hanging around the faculty. A tall young man gives you a sheepish grin, his grey eyes twinkling with jittery energy. He’s dressed in a typical pilot’s uniform, with a brown leather briefcase hanging from his shoulder. You’ve heard about him several times from some of your schoolmates, the new cute pilot with fluffy brown hair and a charming smile. He’s caught the attention of so many people, so it’s pretty interesting to finally meet the actual person. “Hi. I am so sorry that I took too long, that was very unprofessional of me.” he scratches the back of his head, clearly embarrassed. “No, it’s fine. I wasn’t waiting too long.” you lied. “The head instructor told me to wait here, I’m guessing it’s my turn on the aircraft?” He shakes his head, rubbing the back of his neck, “Unfortunately, there have been some setbacks on the scheduling. We might have to wait a bit longer before the run-up operation.” “It’s okay. I guess I’ll wait a little longer.” “I'm truly sorry about that,” he begins to look around the hangar. “They asked you to wait here?” “…Yes?” He looks up at the bright blue sky peering out of the hangar’s roof, blinking at the sun’s bright glare from the concrete ground. “Maybe it’s best if we stayed in the pilot’s lounge, that way you wouldn't have to stay in this heat.” He glances back to you with a nervous smile, his eyes almost iridescent. “If that’s okay with you! I was just thinking that the hangar might not be the best place to stay in. It’s a bit hot today that’s all.” You smile at the skittish instructor. “It’s alright Captain. I’m fine with waiting in the pilot’s lounge.” His cheeks began to turn red, as he gives a flustered giggle. “I- Please don’t call me that, it makes me feel a bit older than I should. I think we’re quite close in age after all.” “Okay,” you smile cheekily at him, saving the fact that he gets embarrassed quickly in mind for future references. “What should I call you then?” “Ah, sorry! I forgot to introduce myself,” he extends a hand out to you, “My name is Capt. Karl Jacobs. I’m one of the new flight instructors. Though you can call me Karl instead, I’d rather not follow protocol.” “[Y/N], Aerospace Engineering, Year 3.” He raises a brow, “Aerospace Engineering? Very interesting, what’s it like to have that course?” “If you can handle eons of mathematics, it’s not a bad course to have,” you laugh. He shakes his head. “I don’t think I can handle that much math, I’d rather leave that to better people like you. Shall we head to the lounge?” You nod, as you sit up and you start to gather your belongings to head to the pilot’s lounge. But Karl stops you and grabs your bag for you, giving you a wink as he starts to walk inside. You weren’t expecting that, but it’s not uncommon for flying students to try to be chivalrous towards their company. You follow him in, though you find your thoughts catching up to you. It’s absurd, you think, calling a pilot by their first name. Normally calling the pilots by their name was strange, but Karl clearly isn’t like the other pilots or the flying students you constantly rub elbows with. “Karl…” You try, slightly cringing at the lack of Captain or Sir. “Isn’t it a bit rebellious to not follow protocol? What would the other captains
say?” you jest at him as he leads you through the empty hallways. He gives you a little smile. “It’s fine for me. Don’t you call the AMT technicians and the AE engineers by their names?” You roll your eyes at him. “Well, that’s because we see them more often, and we’re more familiar with each other, so it’s fine to call them by their names. Though aren’t you guys stricter with the flying students?” He laughs at that, “We are, but you’re not a flying student. Unless… Do you plan on switching?” You shake your head, “Nope, you’re talking to an engineer through and through.” As you uttered those words, you both found yourselves in front of the pilot lounge’s entrance. He opens the door and holds the door for you expectantly, the cold air from the lounge blasting around you. You give a small smile of gratitude and enter, noticing that the lounge is also empty. “Why aren’t there many people around? Aren’t there students taking their required hours too?” You ask Karl as you seat yourself in one of the many chairs around the lounge, dropping your things down a table. “From what I understood, contact has to be limited still, and that there aren’t many students who have scheduled their ground operation schedule yet. So not many people should be on the grounds right now.” He explains as he brings out a folder from his bag taking the seat next to you. “Do you have your ground operations info sheet? I’ll help you fill out the details of the aircraft we should be using today.” You look at him in surprise, “Usually the technicians are the ones who help us fill this out, aren’t you the one who’s supposed to grade me instead?” He gives a cheery smile in response. “It’s fine, we don’t have much to do anyway as we wait. We might as well fill out the form, besides,” he lifts the grading rubric he has in his hand. “I’ll still grade you fairly based on your taxiing performance. Nothing to worry about.” You give him an impassive look, to which he laughs in response. “I won’t have too high expectations, I swear! I’m only strict towards flying students.” he raises his hands in defense. You sigh, but you allow him to take a look at your information sheet, filling up the details of the aircraft with his help. He stays close to you the whole time, and you can almost feel his fluffy curls touch your hair lightly, his warmth cascading over you lightly as you try to focus on your sheet. His hands meeting yours from time to time as he points at different parts of the info sheet, directing you on what to write. After the sheet was completed, you hand your sheet for Karl to keep and you fell into simple conversation, discussing technical things, like how it’s like to be an instructor or a pilot. Karl answered with an excitable passion for all questions, almost like a cute puppy receiving a treat. (“But wasn't the exam difficult? I heard so many people failed it.” “It took me one month to study for it.” “…Wow.”) Soon, the questions delved into personal territory, from why you chose to be an engineer and eventually fell into Karl’s many adventures as a flying student. (“How are you still a pilot?” “I have no clue either that was incredibly dumb of me too.” “Have you at least fixed your Monster addiction problem?” “…..Hey so, what do you guys do in that laboratory of yours?” “DON’T CHANGE THE SUBJECT KARL.”) You both learned so much about each other, learning that you two were only two years from each other. (“How did I not meet you sooner when you were still a student?” “I was always in the library.” “Like a nerd?” “No, I- Hey! Take that back!”) An hour passed, and soon the head instructor entered the lounge, notifying the both of you that it is your turn for the ground operation training, apologizing for the long delay. And yet, you don’t feel frustration for the long wait. You follow Karl and your head instructor out into the runway where the aircraft was dropped off by another duo taking the taxiing procedure. You both rush into the plane, climbing in as the propellers burst large gusts of air. The previous pilot
quickly switched places with Karl, as you greet your fellow student as you try to climb in. Once you got in the aircraft, you felt both excited and nervous as Karl looks through your paper. “Ready to taxi?” He asks with a cheery grin. You give him a small nod, as you watch him turn on the engine to a slow speed for the aircraft to start moving. “Remember to stay in the middle of the runway, and you can adjust the speed of the engine if you want the aircraft to go faster.” Pushing the pedals on your feet to center the aircraft onto the runway, you try to follow the white middle line on the concrete as best as you can. You find yourself slightly gripping the yolk, as you try to point the nose of the aircraft straight at the middle. Karl encourages you the whole time as you go for a turn towards the left. You notice another aircraft taxiing nearby and try to maintain a distance away from them, slowing to give them space. Karl smiles in acknowledgment as you still try to keep the pace and distance steady the best you can. He starts pointing out parts of the aircraft to you, introducing the flight instruments as you continue to steer the aircraft around the runway. Eventually, he directs you to park the aircraft to a specific area. As soon as the aircraft falls to a full stop, he gives your info sheet with a smile. “Congratulations, full marks. Maybe you could be a pilot instead, and fly with me?” He teases. You smile back at him, “I won’t be flying the plane anytime soon, but maybe I’ll work with you sometime in the future?” He giggles at the idea, “Let’s see. See you someday engineer, hope I’m your instructor again soon.” “See you someday, Captain Karl Jacobs.” You grin as you clamber out of the plane with the help of some technicians outside and head back to the hangar to check your info sheet. Exactly as he said, he graded your procedure with perfect marks, giving excellent praise and comments on your driving. Before you thought of passing the paper to your head instructor, you noticed a white sticky note attached at the back of the paper with a small message written on it. ‘It was fun talking to you, maybe you’d be up for more of that another time? Just shooting my shot. XXXX-XXX-XXXX -Karl <3’ You smile at the sticky note, keeping it in your pocket as you hand over your info sheet to your head instructor as he dismissed you off. As you head out towards the exit, you send a text out to the number. ‘Sure, coffee date sometime? Good luck on instructing everyone else. <3 -Future Engineer’

ship request
“Would I be able to get a male ship for stranger things and marvel? I’m female, a virgo and I have a few piercings and tattoos (full sleeves). I have long split color hair (black and neon yellow). I’m very confident. I love to joke around and make my friends laugh. I like to be around people who can make me laugh too. I’m very social around my friends but I’m pretty quiet around people I don’t know very well. I do fire eating as a hobby and I play the drums. I kind of low key like attention even when I act like I don’t. And I really love cheesy pick up lines especially if they’re funny. I also like to draw, go ice skating, go to concerts, watch horror movies, binge watch trash TV or just lay around listening to music. I have a pet parrot whom I love very much”
a/n: okay, first of all, you literally sound like this cartoon character we all aspired as children… fire eating  - that’s so sick! Also, I hope you enjoy this, and would agree with my choise, but I think you match perfectly.
If YOU want to submit a request, click here.
Stranger things:
I ship you with Steve Harrington
Tumblr media
You like cheesy pick up lines? He delivers! First of all, he’s not the best at flirting, altough he acts all cool, and he was very popular... But let’s be honest, his main weapon are those pick up lines specifically. And you would come to Scoop Ahoy, where he would think you’re the coolest person INSTANTLY and be like “Know what's on the menu? Me-N-U”
Going to rescue or save someone, and understading eachother really well by making references to the horror movies. “Remember this movie we watched at your place?” “The one about the living puppet-serial killer” “Yeah! That one. We can do the same thing that the blonde girl did”.  “Absolutely!” And everyone else is like... whaaaaat
Driving to concerts to the other towns together. You would sing along to the songs in the car, and he would just sit with the heart eyes.
Him wanting to get a tattoo as well, because he loves yours tattoos sa badly. And you would tell him all about getting tattoos and treating them.
Him always bragging about you to everyone, because he genuinely believes that you’re the coolest person he knows. Telling Dustin all about how good you’re in music, how well you draw. And Dustin becoming your No1 fan after you perform fire eating once.
“Hey, loser!” You entered Scoop Ahoy, greeting Steve. “Hi, Robin!” The girl waved you and nudged Steve slightly. “Emm.. Ah, Hi!” He blinked and stopped staring at you so intensely. “You good, Harrington?” You asked smirking. “Peachy” He answered and tried to fix his hair immediately. “Alright, I’m gonna go change”. You eyed Steve suspiciously and headed to the back of the cafe to change into your sailor uniform. Honestly, it didn’t match you looks much, but the tattoos and the hair color definitely made it spicy.
“You’re drooling, Harrington”. Robin smirked at Steve. “That’s not true!” Steve protested. “Just ask her out already”. Robin groaned. “You’re getting annoying”. The boy turned back to the cashier and spoke again “I will. When you’re out of the cafe”. Robin thought for a second, and then tugged her hat down, and leaned on the same cashier. “Okay, I’m outta here! Ciao”. She slides under this cashier and headed towards the exit. “Wait, Robin! Where’re you going? Your shift isn’t over”. “Don’t care! Bye”
With that you appeared dressed in the blue shorts and a blouse. “Where did Robin go?” You questioned. “I wish I knew”. Steve sighed. “So...” He looked at you with hope. “What?” He looked almost as if you were supposed to know all the feelings and emotions behind the simple stupid “so”. He licked his lips at least 10 times in the past two minutes, and his eyes were going back pans forth to your face. At this point you were almost concerned about him. Steve always seemed so confident, that was the part of him that you admired. Now, in contrast, he was so nervous. “Are you sure that you are fine?” Steve gulped and inhaled sharply. “Positive. Look, I heard there was a new horrible movie in the theater, doyoumaybewannacomewithme?” You laughed. “Sure! Why not? Is it a date?” “Ah, erm, yeah, i guess... if you want, i mean i don’t...”
“Relax Harrington”, you said. “I would love to go out with you. Especially if the movie is as bad as you said it was”
Marvel:
Tumblr media
I ship you with Peter Parker
He’s smitten by you and your confidence! And for some reason I can see the best friends to lovers dynamics. He would be all.. “Ahem... Look... I like you?”
Always arguing about who’s picking a movie for the movie night, and ending up watching what you wanted, because he can’t argue in the end.
He would help you to dye your hair, even though he wouldn’t know how. But you would tell him what to do, and he would be very nervous, but make it really pretty in the end.
Hanging out with him and Aunt May and slightly mocking him together with her. “Hey, Peter Tinkle!” “Saints! How did I earn this?”
You find out about him being Spider-man, when you go ice-skating together, and you trip, and he moves practically from another part of the lake (let’s imagine this is countryside) to catch you within a second. You’re very close. Awkward eye-to-eye contact. You smirk. “So that’s what you were hiding, huh?”
You were sitting on the fire escape of you apartment with Peter. It was almost night. One of those short and warm May nights in the city, when you can't even notice that it was here. It doesn't really get dark or quite - everyone is out, and the lights never turn off. Today you and Peter passed your last exam, and decided to celebrate, drinking coke on the fire escape while your parents were out of the city. "Do you think I would make a decent super hero?" You were swinging you legs, looking at the city.
"I bet you would be so much better of a super hero than I am", Peter sighed and chuckled lightly.
"Don't say that", you turned to him, "You're the best spider-man. Honestly, I think, you're my favorite hero", you layed your had on your hands.
"Like in the world?" He raised his eyebrows.
"Well, maybe second favorite after Black Widow", you laughed.
"Ouch! What's so special about black widow?" Peter leaned on the window behind him, taking a sip of his drink.
"First of all, she's badass. Then, she's a hero, even though she doesn't have any serums running through her veins. And finally, she's Russian, as far as I know. Isn't that epic?" You gestured actively, weighing up all the pros Natasha Romanoff. Peter smiled lighly at the sight of that.
"Okay", he said. "You win".
"That easily?" You eyed him suspiciously.
"Yeah, I like badass women, who can do some crazy dangerous stuff", he answered, tilting his head.
"Like what?"
"Like fire eating", he said simply, and you felt your face heat up a little.
"Are you hinting at certain someone?" You asked with a smirk.
He took a deep breath and sat up straightly. "I like you. A lot", he closed his eyes, apparantly, affraid of your reaction.
"Well, I guess, that makes you my favourite super hero after all".
I'm so sorry for the delay of doing your requests, guys. School has been crazy lately. I'm going to handle it all soon. Have a great day!

Things We Lost in the Fire, ch 27
aka Caleo uni au
Fic summary: Calypso starts studying at a new university, but to her annoyance her new flatmate is a loud mouthed mechanic who also likes to sneak his dog in whenever. But as she learns to know him better, she realizes they might have more in common than what she first thought. Eventually, even the darkest secrets come out…
Chapter summary: The exam season is underway (yet somehow I don’t mention the exams all too many times...)
A/N: Yay, I'm back with this fic!! I think I can promise a bit more regular updates at least in the near future, but I will be starting to work longer hours possibly starting from next week so I will have a bit less free time then. I am still determined to keep up with my 500ish words per day goal so it should cause too much delay!
That's that, I hope you guys are as happy to return to this universe as I am! As usual, please let me know what you think :) This fic is about to take my longest fic position from Love Can Melt the Ice, so knowing that there are people who care about it really means a lot to me!
Words: 2393
Genre: romance & hurt/comfort
Warnings: none
previous chapter / AO3
Leo would have been lying if he had claimed that everything went back to completely normal after the talk with Calypso. Sure, they both really tried harder to act as neutral and friendly as possible around each other; whenever they were at home at the same time, they chatted casually about how things were going at work and at the university, their latest TV show or music discoveries, or some silly thing one of their friends had said or done recently. Sometimes they even watched something together or cleaned the common area together. However, the earlier confessions were never mentioned. On the surface things were ‘just fine’, but the unspoken words and lingering looks spoke for itself. Leo knew things were still heating up under the surface and sooner or later they would have to make some difficult decisions. But until then, he wasn’t going to risk anything by disrespecting the guidelines that they had set during their ‘big talk’, even if it was hard to resist sometimes.
One evening Leo found Calypso studying for her upcoming exams on the common area couch. She was wearing a pink, tunic length sweater that matched her lip color, and black leggings that hugged her legs tightly (not that he’d ever tell her that he had noticed such things). She had also pulled her now medium length hair into a messy ponytail so it wouldn’t bother her while she was reading, showing her nicely shaped facial features better. Despite noticing all that, Leo’s thoughts soon went to the facts that he had recently learned about his flatmate. Now he knew more about the hardships she had gone through; a dead sister, an abusive, controlling father, being alone all those years and the nightmares she had mentioned while drunk. Yet, somehow there she was, having escaped her father’s grip and looking perfectly content doing something as boring and normal as studying for exams. The girl was way stronger than he had earlier given her credit for, and Leo admired her capability to stay so calm; he wasn’t so sure the ghosts of his own past would leave him alone that easily.
“Hi,” he finally said before Calypso noticed that he’d been standing there just watching her far too long despite the rules they had set. “What are you reading?”
Calypso showed him the book. If she was surprised to see him, she hid it well. “A collage of Frenchmen’s experiences at the front lines during World War II. I know. A very cheerful way to finish the day.” She grimaced.
“Huh? I thought you were mostly focusing on older history? I didn’t know you study that stuff too,” Leo noted, shifting from one foot to another.
“Well, they do require us to have a good enough understanding of the newer events as well,” Calypso replied, now looking at him directly. For some reason that one look managed to make chills go down Leo’s spine. “It is true, though, that I am more interested in ancient history. There’s so much we still don’t know about those times and I want to be able to discover more.”
“I see,” Leo said. “I think I understand what you mean. I am constantly hoping to discover new ways to create things that will be useful for all of us. Flying dragons that use energy drinks as their energy source? How epic would that be?” Excitement surged through him when he simply thought about it.
“Isn’t that a bit out there?” Calypso asked, but Leo didn’t miss the amused glint in her eyes. “And what if everyone had flying dragons and that would cause horrible air accidents? I don’t know about you but to me they don’t sound very safe.”
“Sunshine, what’s life without some danger?” Leo questioned.
“Hmm, let me think: safe?” Calypso retorted.
“Ouch. Well, I don’t think I have time to invent flying dragons any time soon, so you don’t have to worry about that,” Leo reassured her, but now that the idea had been planted into his head, he decided to return to it some day in the future. Hopefully when he would be able to handle fire.
“That’s a relief,” Calypso replied. “Speaking of your inventions… have you decided what you’re going to do about your studies? The last time I asked you said you haven’t been in contact with your professor yet.”
That was a question Leo had been dreading for. He preferred to not talk about that topic unless he had to, but the truth was that he was still quite unsure about being able to continue. However, he hadn’t made any final decisions yet.
“I’ll… I’ll keep working to overcome my fear,” he responded vaguely. “I think I’ve made some small progress during our sessions. If I can keep that going, I may be able to retake the test next year. Small steps, you know.” In reality, so far he had managed to stay close to a small, burning candle for a short period of time without freaking out, but he still didn’t want to try the matches whenever Calypso suggested it. There was still a long way to go before he’d be able to use all the machines he needed during lab classes and at work.
“Okay,” Calypso said, but to Leo she sounded a bit unconvinced. Her voice got more reassuring, though, when she added: “You know that you can ask for my help any time you need it.”
“Yeah, thanks.” Leo nodded. “And same right back at you. I mean, you can ask me. If you need anything.” For some annoying reason he managed to only get stuttering out of his mouth at that moment. “Even if you simply want me to make you a miniature dragon in the middle of the night. It’s fine. I’d totally make it.”
“And why would I want you to make me a miniature dragon in the middle of the night?” Calypso looked at him questioningly. Before Leo managed to answer, her face softened into a smile and she added: “I really appreciate the thought, though. It feels so different… in a good way… to have people in my life who genuinely support me. I haven’t had that, well, since I got separated from my mom.”
She sat a bit straighter on the couch, her gaze going back and front between Leo and her book, and Leo wondered if she was debating if she should reach for him and touch his shoulder or something. Maybe even hug. One side of him wished she would just go for it. But that would have violated their newly made rules and neither wanted to make things even more complicated than they already were. They simply kept staring at each other for a while, as if trying to read each other’s thoughts, but finally Calypso sighed and turned her focus back on her book, closing it.
“I didn’t realize it’s already this late…” She said, adjusting her hair a bit with the hand that wasn’t holding the book. “I still need to finish an assignment for tomorrow.”
She stood up and started walking towards her room, but when she got past Leo, her arm briefly touched his. Leo’s arm was still tingling after Calypso closed the door behind her.
A few days later, Leo was still thinking of that incident when he almost fell over a big rock that was standing on his road. He and Jason were currently having a well deserved evening off after finishing their last exams of the semester earlier that day (Leo felt like he had at least succeeded with the calculations but his essay writing was a bit sloppy) and in honor of that they had decided to go for a long jog and after that have a big, unhealthy meal in one of their favorite pizza places. While they were on their way there, Jason had been explaining something about his holiday plans when Leo had zoned out, and Jason had to grab his arm so he didn’t fall.
“Hey, man, you OK?” Jason asked, frowning. “What just happened there?”
“Yeah, yeah. I’m OK.” Leo brushed some dust off the sleeves of his coat. “I was just… thinking. And didn’t notice the rock on the road.”
“Hmmm, what got you that thoughtful?” Jason inquired. “I bet you didn’t even hear what I just said.”
“You know I have a pretty nasty case of ADHD, sometimes I just zone out randomly,” Leo said defensively, not wanting to admit aloud that recently he had been even more distracted than usual because of a certain flatmate of his. “And no, I didn’t hear you.”
“Alright,” Jason shrugged. “I was telling you that Piper’s dad has invited us to visit him over the break. I’m not sure yet if we are going, though. Piper didn’t seem very enthusiastic about it. Sure, she wants to see him, but she suspects he’s still working most of the time so it would be the same to just call instead of traveling all the way to LA.”
“Mmmh,” Leo mumbled, trying hard to stay in the present moment. “I’m going to be at Waystation during the break so if you guys decide to stay, we can still hang out.”
“Okay, I’ll let you know what we decide to do. That wasn’t all, though…” Jason continued, his face becoming concerned. “I think Piper has seemed quite distant lately, and not just when we’ve been talking about that trip. Sometimes I worry that she’s gotten bored of me, or something.”
“No way, man!” Leo exclaimed. “I’ve seen you guys together often enough to know that she loves you. Maybe she’s just going through a rough phase or something.”
Jason didn’t seem quite convinced. “I guess so. It’s just that usually she tells me directly what’s bothering her. This… keeping things inside her isn’t like her.”
“Maybe you just need to give her some time,” Leo suggested. “It’s like me with Cal; I’ve learned to keep my mouth shut more often and in exchange she has slowly started opening up to me more recently.”
“She has? That’s great!” Jason cheered up. “How is it going with you two anyway? I heard some things about the Halloween party aftermath…”
“Nothing happened after the party!” Leo yelped, raising his hands. “Whatever Piper has told you, all lies.”
“Really? So you two wouldn’t have kissed if Piper hadn’t interrupted you guys?” Jason raised his eyebrow.
If Leo’s cheeks hadn’t already been red from the jogging, he certainly would have blushed. “Um… well… the point is that we didn’t. Besides, we’ve set some rules that we’re supposed to follow because we don’t wanna make our co living too complicated.”
“So there is something going on between you two and you are acknowledging it,” Jason teased. “You wouldn’t need to set any rules otherwise.”
“Yeah, yeah,” Leo muttered. “If you must know, we did admit that we like each other after the party.”
“But that’s great!” Jason exclaimed.
“It feels pretty crazy,” Leo replied. “Sometimes I wonder why she likes me, but maybe the Bad Boy Supreme’s magic is stronger than I thought.”
Jason snorted at his comment. “I don’t know Calypso as well as you do but I doubt it’s the so-called Bad Boy Supreme side that she cares about. You pretend to be all cool and try to seem like you don’t care about what’s happening around you but I think you do that only because you care too much. Maybe Calypso has noticed that as well.”
“Dude, you’ve been hanging out with Piper too much.” Leo shook his head. “That’s something she would say. ” “Well, she’s not wrong. Anyway, what happened after the big confession?”Jason asked curiously.
“We’re not together if that’s what you’re asking, ” Leo denied immediately. “I just mentioned the rules, remember? We wouldn’t need them if we had decided to go down that road.” “Ouch… but why? Why didn’t you just decide to do it?” Jason wanted to know.
“For some stupid, noble reasons,” Leo grunted. “I’m not gonna go into the details because it’s up to her to talk about it, but long story short, she thinks it’s safer that way. I think she’s afraid of hurting one of us.”
“And do you think she’s right?” Jason inquired.
“I… No! I’ve told her I can handle it. But I’m not gonna push it - believe me, Jo and Emmie have given me long lectures about respecting women’s boundaries. If Cal and I wanna keep living together, I have to let it be.”
“Yeah, I can see your point.” Jason nodded.
“Besides…” Leo added after a moment, his face falling as he thought about his past. “Bad things tend to follow me. Who is to say that I wouldn’t be the one getting her into trouble?”
“Why do you think that?”
“Because when have I ever been successful with anything I’ve done?” Leo asked in return.
Jason seemed to finally understand what event Leo was really referring to. “You’re still beating yourself for things that happened years ago?”
“Why do you think I’m not capable of going to some of the lab classes? Because I simply think that skipping is fun and I don’t care whether I pass it or not?” There had been a time when Leo hadn’t cared about his school success, but back in those days he hadn’t cared about much else either. Now that he had dreams and things to live for, he hated the idea that anyone would think he’d throw it all away just because he could. His new family deserved better than that for what they had done for him.
“No, no, I was not thinking that! You just never talk about it so I assumed… whatever.” Jason didn’t want to make Leo even angrier so he decided it was better to change the topic. “Maybe we should talk about something else. I still hope that you and Cal will work it out eventually.”
“Yeah. I hope so too. Same for you and Piper.” The friends had gotten close to their destination, so Leo exclaimed quickly: “Hey, I’m smelling the pizza now! Whoever is last at the door pays!”
“That’s a bad deal because you know I’m faster than you. I train every day!” Jason pointed out but soon sprinted after him.

March 12, 2021 (part 1),
Friday I woke up on the floor from the night before at like 7am then walked up to my room to find Tash sleeping in my bed. Was very confused but happy to have a sleeve over. Got in bed and went back to sleep till 10-11ish. Hung out with Tash and delayed taking her home for as long as possible because I was so tired and hungover. She had class at 11:15 so I drove her back at 11. Lowkey felt like I may have still been a little drunk. I think I went back to sleep when I got back to mine. I woke up again around 12:30 to a FaceTime call from Teddy asking if I wanted to go to this one Deli on south campus for lunch. I got Mal to come with me then picked up Teddy and went. It was actually really good and I want to go back and get a different sandwich. I also got some Vudoo chips or however u spell it. They are so good and I completely forgot they existed. We then went back to Teddy’s house to eat outside since it was so nice and he has a picnic table in his backyard. Was fun and joked around a lot. It’s always a good time with Teddy. Mal and I left shortly after eating. I think I called Justin after that to work on an assignment at 2:30 for like an hour. Neither of us knew what we were doing and pulled up the answers on chegg and we’re still confused so that’s not good cause we have an exam this Thursday. I’m pretty sure Sammi, Jamie and Noshin all came over right after that. I think they actually showed up while I was still working with Justin. They wanted to paint the table and hangout outside. I was with them for a bit then had to leave shortly after they got here cause I forgot I already had plans to go thrifting with Joe and Tash. Was fine cause they just stayed and painted with Cole, Jacob, Maddie and Dan. I pick up both Tash and Joe then drove like 30 minutes to go thrifting at a Goodwill Outlet. Was super cool and had a ton of bins that you could go thru and pick out stuff randomly. We stayed for prolly an hour and was super cheap cause it’s only like $1 per pound of stuff u get there. I got 2 hoodies and 2 shirts for a total of $4. Joe and Tash each spent about $10 and got so much stuff. Will definitely be doing that again soon. I dropped them all off then picked up Mike around 6 I wanna say. We played some Corn hole on the back patio with Dan and Mal for a little while when Mike’s girl friends all came over for literally 15 minutes then left cause they didn’t realize it was just us even tho mike told them it was just us. I ate my left over BWW while playing then went inside after it was too dark to keep playing. We started playing some Xbox and hung out for awhile until I drove to Sam’s at 8 to drop off Tash’s gift and give Christina the shooters. When we got back we started drinking cause we had to go to Sam Slim’s pregame. Dan, Mal, Mike and I all left at 9:30 to go to Sam’s as Teddy showed up to my house cause Cole was having people over later for TKE bid night. We walked to Sam’s but Mike broke off from us and went to Chick fil a cause he wasn’t going to Karaoke. We got to Sam’s but I realized I forgot the solo cups that Sam told me to bring. So I called Jacob and told him to bring them since he was coming later with Maddie. They also forgot the cups lol. Was fine cause Sam still had enough to play slap we just had to reuse after that. Tash took some picks, sung happy birthday and cut the cake, did the piñata (I had to hold the piñata and got hit a few times since she was blindfolded lol). The pregame was fun but we all left at 11 to go to the Karaoke bar. Everyone ubered except Dan, Jacob, Mal and I because Jacob got wayyy too drunk cause he chugged about 10 shots worth of pink Whitney right before that. It was a 20-30 minute walk but was fine since our time slot didn’t open until 11:15. Jacob fell and rolled his ankle really bad while crossing one intersection and was limping for the rest of the walk. Dan tired shotgunning but his finger got stuck in the can so I had to help get it out so that started bleeding a bit. Then we finally made it to Karaoke and met up with everyone (we were only 10 minutes late).

As you know, and certain have in mind every day, nursing is a career that carries a huge amount of duty. Be sure to guard your self, especially when asked for advice in an informal setting.
No, Uncle Bob has cornered you within the hallway after Christmas dinner. In trying back, I realize that not as soon as during this experience did anyone INVITE me into a discussion of what could be best for my mother.
She spent two nights in the hospital beneath remark, with IV hydration. Now, admittedly, she has varying levels of dementia even on a good day, but she reached the point of getting severe hallucinations and paranoia.
Having a whole remedy group looking out for you and preparing a discharge plan that is going to set you up for achievement. 90 days of therapy allows for the affected person to work via many of the above mentioned considerations and we treat it using an American Society of Addiction Medicine dimensional assessment.
The general size of keep in remedy that is really helpful is often ninety days. Health safety and prevention is the key to staying healthy for the long haul. Remember, you might be unique and deserve a customized evaluation.
So instead of browsing the web for a generic, or even worse, incorrect answer, talk to a doctor in particular person to get the total image—and to cease dropping sleep over your questions (see reason number 5!). Will we have to battle the battle of keyword voids at a grassroots degree, wrangling with the asymmetry of passion by tapping folks to search out these voids and create counter-content material? Do we need to arrange counter-GoFundMe campaigns to pay for ad campaigns that promote real science?
Do not rely on a form’s basic remark that “risks of leaving were discussed with the patient,” he says. That doesn't negate the value of those documents, however they should not be the sum complete of the hospital’s evidence displaying efforts to provide care.
First, the hospital must reconcile any excellent diagnostics, as a result of if any checks had been ordered, the hospital is still liable for checking the results to make certain nothing critical was identified, he says.

Our highly specialized experts are deeply skilled in treating rare and complex circumstances. I actually have been put in this identical position so many times, that I lastly, like you, needed to tell them to contact their supplier or go to the ER/Urgent Care.
I owned a small household follow clinic and some would actually present up there quite than going to their PCP or ER. I do perceive how onerous it is to tell them to go to their PCP’s, but I believe that is the proper motion. We love our family and pals and do not need to see them ill or in ache, however we additionally want them to obtain goal care.
I actually have been practicing as a Nurse and APP for over 15 years now and have found, for me, robust boundaries come with time. You don’t have a look at them as patients, but as whomever they are to you.
YOUR ability to want them to be OK and not be as goal as you'd be with a affected person. Another disagreeable facet effect of trying to assist was the pushback I received.

Teaching during Coronavirus
Good morning my beautiful rays of sunshine! ☀️
It’s not that bad but it’s screwing with the school schedule so bad right now. Currently, in Korea, everything is under control and handled. There are no shortages of things like toilet paper or food. All stores are fully stocked. The only problem people may have here is getting masks. Masks can be hard to find and if you find any, they’re more expensive than before the outbreak. Other than that, it’s pretty safe here.
With that being said, however, the Korean government has decided to air on the side of caution and have delayed the start of the new school year. Originally, we were supposed to start on March 2. Then, it was delayed to March 23. And once again, it has been delayed to April 6. So as of right now, I’m working from 4 days a week and one day on campus. But starting March 23, I’m working on campus two days on the week of the 23rd and three days the week of the 30th. For my school, specifically, I can choose which day I want to go in. Some schools will tell you which day to come in for work.
To work from home, you have to fill out a couple of forms, one requesting to work from home for which days and another to outline what you’ll be doing each day that you’re working from home. So basically, making lesson plans and preparing materials. I think you’re also supposed to show however is in charge of you (as an EPIK teacher, your vice-principal is technically the one in charge of you), what you’ve done at the end. I, personally, have not had to show any work to anyone at the end of the week. I think I have to show what I’ve done at the end of this working from home period.
Also, I’m not under quarantine or anything like that. I’m allowed to leave my house so I tend to do work at a coffee shop somewhere. PLEASE NOT THAT WORKING FROM HOME DOES NOT MEAN FREE VACATION DAYS! You are to stay in your city during work hours. After 5:00pm, you can do whatever you want, but between 9:00am - 5:00pm, you should be in your city. You don’t even have to do work between 9:00am - 5:00pm. As long as you can show you’ve done some work and haven’t left your city, you’re good to go.
So does that mean I’m not teaching??? Basically.....yeah. Students don’t have to come to campus so there are no students for me to teach. But....I teach high school which is an important period where students are studying and getting ready for the college entrance exam and applications. The longer the semester is delayed, the longer students are out of school, the less time they have to prepare. So my school, specifically, has switched to “online teaching” and I’m using that very loosely.
Even though South Korea is known for its crazy advancements in technology, technology isn’t really used in schools. There’s no Canvas or Blackboard. My school’s idea of online teaching is sending students a to-do list of assignments they’re supposed to finish and any materials to go with it.
What does that mean for me as their English CONVERSATION teacher?? I have no idea haha. Last week, I had my students watch a video on American and Korean high schools and answer questions about it. Right now, I’m trying to find a way to incorporate speaking. I want to find a platform where students can record themselves speaking and easily upload it for grading but I don’t want to explain how to use it to my kids haha. The easiest way I can think of is to start group chats with my kids on KakaoTalk.
Anyways, that was just a quick update of what’s going on. If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message. I hope you all have a wonderful day! Another post is coming soon so be ready to…wake up and shine. 😊

When did Charles Adams live with Baron von Steuben?
As some of you may know, Charles Adams lived with Baron von Steuben for some time in the early 1790′s. I’ve been trying to trace where Charles Adams was living around this time and exactly when he moved in with the Baron. So let’s start in 1789 when Charles moved to New York City.
Charles graduated from Harvard in 1789 and moved in with his parents who were at this time living in the Richmond Hill mansion in Manhattan. On the 21 of July 1789, John Adams writes to Alexander Hamilton explaining that Charles wanted to study law at “some office in New York, and should give the Preference to you”. He proposes that Charles “may go into Town, and come out, with me every day, and attend your office, from between ten and Eleven, to between three and four.” Charles however did not study with Hamilton for long as Hamilton was not long after appointed Secretary of the Treasury, requiring Charles to move to John Laurence’s law office.
Due to the Residence Act the US government moved from New York to Philadelphia in late 1790, prompting John and Abigail Adams to move with it. At first they considered bringing Charles with them but ultimately decided it was better for him to continue his studies in New York. Charles moved in with his sister Abigail and her husband William S. Smith (yes the same William S. Smith who had lived with Steuben at the Louvre).
In January 1791 William S. Smith sailed to Europe, Abigail and Charles stayed in New York with Smith’s family. Smith returned to America in June but soon decided to return for a longer trip. Abigail, not wanting to spend such a long time away from her husband went with him. They sailed for Europe in March 1792. These circumstances left Charles looking for a place to live.
Steuben, who at this time was living at 32 Broadway, invited Charles to stay with him. At first Charles considered this a temporary situation and was looking to move into a boardinghouse. However when he mentioned his intentions to the Baron, he urged him to stay. Charles wrote to his mother on the 8th of October 1792 explaining:
I had intended to procure lodgings at some private boarding house, but when I mentioned to him my intention, he took me kindly by the hand “My dear Adams said he When your sister went from New York I invited you to come to my house, at least till you could find more convenient and pleasant Lodgings; I then had not the pleasure of a long acquaintance with you, but I was pleased that in our little society we could be of mutual advantage to each other, and that our improvements in the French language and in other branches of literature would render my table the seat of improvement and pleasure. I have since you have been here formed a very great and sincere friendship for you. You must now allow me the right of friendship; Indeed you must not leave me. What is it? Is there any thing you do not like? Is any thing inconvenient? I wish I could give you a better apartment, but the house will not aford it. I told him there was not a desire I could form but what was accomplished in his house; but that I did not think it proper that I should any longer take advantage of a kindness I had not a right to expect. And will you not then allow me to be any longer your friend and patron? You must not make such objections. It is not from any favor I can ever expect from your father. I am not rich, nor am I poor: and thank God I have enough to live well and comfortably upon; your being here does not make any difference in my expences. I love you, and will never consent that our little society should be broken, untill you give me more sufficient reasons for it.[”] To this affectionate and fatherly address, I could only reply that I would do any thing he wished and would not leave him if he was opposed to my doing so. My dear Mamma there is something in this man that is more than mortal.
Hercules Mulligan’s son, John W. Mulligan was around this time also living with Steuben. Keith Stern in his book Queers in History writes:
Prior to moving in with Steuben, young Mulligan had been living with Charles Adams (1770-1800), son of then-Vice President John Adams. The future president and his wife, concerned about the intense nature of the relationship, insisted that Adams and Mulligan split up. The anguished boys wrote to Steuben of their devastation at being separated. With compassion for the heartbroken couple, Steuben offered to take both young men into his home...
Unfortunately Queers in History does not cite it’s sources. I have not found any evidence that John Mulligan and Charles Adams lived together prior to moving in with Steuben. This however may be a mistake, as Stern seems to be under the impression they did not move in with Steuben until 1793. The boys had been living together in 1792, however it seems they were living together at Steuben’s place.
I have not been able to find any primary sources in relation to John and Abigail’s attempt to spilt up the boys. Queers in History states that the below letter from Steuben to Mulligan was in relation to this incident. However the timing is odd for this to be so as they were already living with Steuben when this letter was written.
Steuben to J. W. Mulligan:
Philadelphia, January 11, 1793.
Your letter of the 7th was handed me yesterday by Mr. Hamilton. In vain, my dear child, should I undertake to explain to you the sensation which the letter created in my heart. Neither have I the courage to attempt to arrest the tears you have so great reason to shed. For a heart so feeling as yours this was the severest of trials, and nothing but time can bring consolation under circumstances so afflicting.
Strength of mind in enfeebled by griefs of this nature; but, my friend, one ought not to suffer it to be entirely extinguished, for it is the duty of a sensible man to cherish the heavenly fire with which we are endowed by Providence.
Despite moral philosophy, I weep with you, and glory in the human weakness of mingling my tears with those of a friend I so tenderly love.
My dear Charles ought, ere this, to have received my answer to the touching letter he wrote.
I repeat my entreaties, to hasten your journey to Philadelphia as soon as your strength permits. My heart and my arms are open to receive you. In the midst of the attention and fêtes which they have the goodness to give me, I enjoy not a moment's tranquility until I hold you in my arms. Grant me this favor without delay, but divide your journey, that you may not be fatigued at the expense of your health.
O, if our friend could accompany you! Embrace him for me, with the same tender friendship I feel for you.
The request for Mulligan to “hasten your journey to Philadelphia as soon as your strength permits” is not a invitation to live with Steuben. Steuben was at this time living in NYC. He had taken a trip to Philadelphia and was asking Mulligan to join him there, which Mulligan did.
While it’s possible that the sad event to which this letter refers may have been, as Stern suggests, an attempt by the Adamses to split up Charles and John, the timing seems slightly off. It seem more likely to me that this is in reference to the death of John Mulligan’s sisters. In December 1792, shortly before the Baron had left for Philadelphia, two of Mulligan’s sisters had passed due to illness. Frances on the 24th and Mary a day latter on the 25th. Charles writes to his father on the 26th:
We have had a sorrowful house for sometime my poor friend Mulligan lost two of his sisters in one day by an epidemical fever which is raging with great violence in this City.
Sadly not long after on the 5th of January, 1793, a third sister Margaret also died. It seems likely this was the sad topic of Mulligan’s letter of the 7th, to which Steuben is responding.
Steuben returned from Philadelphia in late January, on the 31st Charles writes to his father:
The Baron returned on teusday his visit has been of service to him He said to me upon sitting down to supper that evening “I thank God my dear Charles that I am not a Great man and that I am once more permitted to set down at my little round table with Mulligan and yourself enjoy more real satisfaction than the pomp of this world can afford.”
Both John and Charles continued to live with the Baron for some time. Having passed the exam, Charles had opened a law office on the 20th of August, 1792 in Hanover square. But continued to live with Steuben at 32 Broadway. On the 10th of February, 1793 Abigail Adams wrote to Abigail Adams Smith informing her that Charles was “still with the Baron whom he speaks of with the sincerest affection and esteem.”
Around this time the Baron was living part of the time in New York City at 32 Broadway and part of the time at his farm “Steuben” in upstate New York. On the 10th of May Charles Adams writes to John Adams:
The Baron setts out tomorrow for Steuben I am sorry to loose his company for so long a period but he is almost as fond of his farm as you are and delights in the society of his Yankee’s as he calls them.
In 1794 the Baron decided to move to Steuben permanently. John Mulligan went with him but Charles who was working as a lawyer at this time stayed in New York City. He writes his father on the 9th of May, 1794:
My good friend the Baron is gone to his retreat where it is his intention to reside during the remainder of his life. I have removed to No 21 Little Queen Street where I have my office and a small bedroom I board at a Mrs Millars in Maiden Lane where I have my breakfast and dinner for fifty five pounds a year I pay fifty more for my rooms I am contented with my situation.

Hi! I love your writing style, and the varied themes you take up for your stories! I was a bit ambivalent with starting with 'Good Intentions' because of the age gap, but, you've written it so beautifully, that I was instantly hooked. And, then, started my binge journey of reading all your other tomarry fics. Also! I read that you are doing PhD, and, that is, like my dream too! It may sound silly, but, I just felt so happy reading ur A/N. Could I ask how old you were when you started ur PhD?
I'm so glad that you like them!  And yeah, I know the age difference in Good Intentions makes people hesitate (for good reason) which is why it's tagged the way it is just so people know what they're getting into, but I'm glad you gave it a chance and ended up enjoying it!
The story of my PhD is a fairly short one, unfortunately.  Well, the story isn't short, but the PhD part is.  The summer between my junior and senior years of college, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, a chronic illness with all sorts of horrifying side effects I will let you look up on your own should you choose.  My initial presentation was bad enough (and in hindsight, mishandled enough by my doctor) that instead of finishing up my summer research by giving a talk at a conference the way I had planned, I spent something like four days in the hospital.  At that point, I made the choice to take the first semester of my senior year off, becuase I needed to get it under control before I went back to school, especially since stress is a known UC trigger.  The doctor at home was amazing and incredible and I still see him to this day. If he moves, I don't know what I'm going to do with myself.  But we got things under much better control, and I was able to go back to school for the spring semster.
Unfortunately, as you may know, almost all of the grad school admissions stuff happens in the fall, with acceptances going out sometime from january to march, if I'm remembering right.  I couldn't take the GRE (general or subject) because I was sick, and in doing so made it so that grad school would be delayed at least a year.
I was lucky in that I had enough credits from AP exams and a summer abroad that I could still graduate on time, and I only had to drop one of my majors down to a minor to make it happen.  So, I still managed to walk with all my friends and graduate Denison class of '15.
And this is getting crazy long, so the rest is under the cut
I spent a truly, truly miserable summer doing research at NIST, again due to health reasons (I somehow managed to get disintary?  To the shock of everyone involved.  Especially since it was the kind you have to catch from someone. And then the antibiotics I had to take for that gave me a flare).  It was at this point that I first started to have some doubts about my future. I wasn't happy doing the research, not nearly enough to push through the pain and other symptoms and keep going.  I didn't enjoy the research at all, and it had me worried about grad school. But I'd been planning on going for a PhD as soon as I understood what one was, and I still wanted to know about Physics, and I'd enjoyed research in the past. So I didn't waver.
I applied the following year while working a part-time job and was accepted to several programs.  My GPA was fine, but I hadn't done very well in several of my major courses, so I was seriously worried, and I'd done poorly on my Physics GRE. Or well, not well at any rate.  But my research record was fairly impressive for what I wanted to do, and I know that my letters were fantastic. I was lucky enough to be admitted to my first choice, and fell in love with the campus when I visited. Another smaller school almost swayed me, but in the end I went with my first choice, which was the University of Arizona, which was one of the top ten in the nation for AMO physics, which was my interest.
I was 23 when I started my PhD program, and while most of the students were straight out of college, I wasn't the oldest there by a long shot.  Unfortunately I'd had my wisdom teeth out the summer before, and one of them had gotten infected, necessitating antibotics, and I flared.  Again.  And I hadn't taken care of continuity of care as well as I should have.  So I was already shaky physically, and the stress of grad school and the lack of a GI basically sent me into the worst spiral I'd been in since I was first diagnosed.  I made it through almost the entire first semester, but not enough to actually get credit for it before I was forced to take medical leave.
Stuff got worse before it got better, and I had to move back in with my Dad.  I thought about it long and hard, and I decided not to go back to grad school. The reality of my illness is that I need to be doing something that I can push to get out of bed on the bad days.  And as much as I loved physics, I didn't love research enough to push myself that way.
I still love physics and still want to learn more.  If money wasn't an issue, I could see at least going for my masters at some point.  And there are several subjects I could see myself going for a PhD in one day.  But this just wasn't the right fit.  And that's okay.
Sorry if this was depressing, and I'm very sorry for how long it got.  But I hope it helps, and I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have!

Welcome to the DC Universe - Tim Drake x Reader Headcanon
Request: “I really love your 'welcome to the dc universe' stuff. May i ask a Tim Drake ver? To complete it? Ty”
AN: After three scrapped drafts, four months of delays, and a whole year of planning, I’ve finally have gotten to post Tim’s version of WttDCU. I’m so sorry that it has taken so long, it’s been a long time going and after scraping it three times, I’ve finally figured out the story that I wanted to tell. It’s different than the other boy’s but in all honesty, I’ve grown to love this one so much and even though writer’s block did not help me whatsoever, I’m very proud of what this had become. I hope you guys enjoy, let me know what y’all think, and I love you guys, just want to make sure you guys know that!
Since you were a kid, you were absolutely obsessed with Batman.
Like Batman: The Animated Series was the shit for you, and you were seriously obsessed with it.
Since you were so young, you always loved the Robin character, from Dick Grayson to later Tim Drake. (Unfortunately, Jason Todd was never really in the show from what you remembered.)
Even as you grew older, you often rewatched the series every now and then.
But then you started going for the comics, and oh wow there was a richer story with them.
The Batman series were always your favorite though, you would often read through those the most, especially the ones with the rest of the Batfam.
Hell, you loved almost everyone there, especially the third Boy Wonder.
Oh man did you have a crush on that dude.
To you he seemed the most relatable, especially when you started college this semester.
The sleepless nights spent studying, the constant amount of work that needed to be done, and the ever present need for coffee. (Oh you needed that crap injected in your veins at this point, because you were about ready to crash and burn.)
Yep, very relatable.
Especially now at the most stressful wonderful time of the year, when finals are running rampant and with you craving an end to this misery called a semester.
By some miracle of the gods though, you had just made it out of your last exam of the hell quarter and you were ready to just melt away into nothing. (Or freeze into oblivion because it was way too freaking cold outside to function.)
Since it was freezing outside and you finally had a time to relax, you decided that a long and warm shower would be absolute heaven right now.
So after trudging to your apartment that was five minute walk from your campus, and tugging off your warm layers, you hop into the shower, goosebumps littering your skin from the cold.
You turned on the shower, letting the warm water tug you into bliss.
Which was interrupted by a large crash that sounded as if it originated from your kitchen.
At this, your eyes could be compared to one of a deer in front of headlights.
Absolutely no one else should be in the apartment right then because your roommate left two days ago to go spend time with her family for the holidays.
To make matters worse, you didn’t bring any change of clothes into the bathroom because they weren’t there.
Oh you really wanted to cry right then and there but you stare at the shower curtain rod that you were going to put in to replace the old one, but have now found a new use for it.
Turning off the water, you get your towel, securing it around yourself and grabbing the rod that you were now going to use as a makeshift bat.
Opening the door slightly to check if the coast was clear, you glance out, seeing nothing for the moment and opening the door more as silently as you could walking out with the rod up and ready for anything.
The hallway was clear so then you take the hallway to the kitchen.
You were thinking that it was a dumb move on your part, hell, that’s how people die in horror movies and here you are doing that exact thing.
So when you walked in and saw what was in your kitchen, you screamed.
Mostly out of shock and surprise, plus a tiny amount of fear pinched in there too.
There was a dude dressed up as Red Robin leaning against your counter trying to stay upright.
You weren’t sure what you were expecting but this sure as hell wasn’t it.
Not that you were complaining or even thinking about complaining because you notice that this dude is bleeding all over.
This is when you snap out of your freaked out daze and put down the shower rod and help the guy out.
”Okay my dude,” You pull him to sit on the stool by the counter. “I need you to sit here for a sec.”
He lets off a weak nod, his breathing very ragged, but you already left to get your first aid kit.
Not even a moment afterwards you come back with it in your hands, putting it on the counter as you pop the case open.
You then move to peel off the armor you slowly process the past couple events.
”Oh geez Tim.”  You mutter, starting to disinfect the wounds on the front off his chest.
”Wait a sec, how do you know my name?” He states, stiffening under your touch and he alcohol being rubbed in.
”You my dude, aren’t in Kansas anymore,” You stated bluntly.
”What’s the supposed to mean-” His eyes widen, “Oh crap, Wizard of Oz reference-”
”Means that you aren’t in your universe anymore, I think anyway,”  You say, moving on to another open wound.
”Yeah, but how do you know my name? Do you know this universe’s version of me?” He asks, looking at your face.
”Uh no,” You glance up at him, “Not exactly.”
”Then how do you know it?” His eyes narrow slightly, causing you to move your eyes away from his and to the work that you were currently doing.”
”T-That's going to be a lot to explain,” You stutter.
”Well I’m not going anywhere soon so please explain away.”
So you do, and Tim got very weirded out.
Not at you, but the whole “My Life Is a Source Of Entertainment” to this universe and the fact that he wasn’t even real here.
You didn’t blame him, this was also weirding you out to the max.
Like it's not everyday that your fictional crush pops out of nowhere in the middle of your kitchen.
Then there was the reason that he got there in the first place.
Turns out that he was fighting with the rest of his family against a powerful warlock, and they were winning when all of a sudden there was a flash of bright light when he then felt himself falling.
Then the next thing he knew, he landed in someone’s kitchen.
So that leads to where you two were at now, sitting on your couch, as you look through whatever DC comics you owned and showed them to him so he could see what you were talking about.
The two of you spent a couple hours reading through them.
You guys stopped when your yawns were growing large in numbers.
So you help him put the couch together for him to be more comfortable and head to bed.
Either way, you guys progressively got closer as the days pass.
Like you guys became friends very quickly.
Often times he really liked hearing you talk about your life, especially your interests and your opinions on everyone he knows.
Like how if Bruce sees an orphan he’s got to adopt them.
Or how Jason and Damian were complete and utter hotheads but still likeable in their own odd little ways.
But one that kinda rubbed him the wrong way was that you thought that Dick was a ten out of ten in almost everything. (Especially looks.)
He just shrugged it off.
What he did like the most though was that he didn’t need to hide anything from you.
It was all out in the air and it was a freedom that was kind of new for him.
Then the holiday rush really started to hit.
You were originally just going to spend a couple days with your family till after New Years.
Now you weren’t sure what you were going to do.
Eventually you got the idea to invite Tim to go with you to your parents house.
There was only one thing stopping you though.
Would he even want to?
Oh man you didn’t know where you’d put yourself if he said no.
Well, you did finally get the balls to ask him to go with you.
And you thanked whatever god was out there that he accepted.
Quite happily in fact.
So happily that he was smiling from the second you asked him to the moment he got into your car to travel to your parents.
That’s when he got a little jittery.
He wasn’t sure on how your family was going to react to him.
Like did they know about his life in Gotham?
Either way, you tried to help him out in that aspect and told him that he didn’t really have much to worry about, since in your family you were kind of the only one who was into the DC Universe.
But you guys did come up with answers to questions they might ask him.
For example;
”Where are you from Tim?” and his answer would be “I’m from New York.” (Since New York’s nickname was also Gotham and the cities are extremely similar.)
”What does your family do?” then he’d say, “My father is a businessman.” (Extremely vague but this was the only way to make sure there wouldn’t be any brows raised that would insure more questions.)
And, “What’s your major?” now this one he’s got a couple answers for but, “Criminal Science” had to be said. (For obvious reasons.)
The car ride went by pretty smoothly and the next thing you guys know, you’re at your parents house.
Oh the nerves were hitting the both of you pretty hard, but you both hid it as you guys walked inside.
Now your parent’s knew that you guys were coming (You called them beforehand.) but they were very curious about him.
It seriously wasn’t everyday that their daughter brought home somebody for them to not only meet, BUT to also stay over.
It was entirely out of character for you.
And they of course thought that there was something going on between the two of you before even stepping foot in the house.
So to say they were curious would be an understatement.
Your whole damn family was there at your house and everyone wanted to see the boy that you brought along.
All eyes were on you when the two of you walked in, hugs were given with kisses on the cheeks and the questions were flying all over the place.
Your mom though was the first one to greet the two of you, bringing you in for a hug and then going and pulling Tim in one right after, welcoming the two of you.
Tim took it very well, and he felt his nerves starting to go away.
The rest of the evening was spent with the family getting to know him and the same with him.
Your siblings liked him, your little brother especially. (He lowkey wished that Damian was more like this, and less on trying to make his life miserable.)
Your dad though was a little standoffish, and was trying really hard not to like him, like he was answering your dad’s questions with ease. (Plus, when the two of them went for a handshake, he wasn’t expecting Tim’s grip to be that strong.)
And your mom immediately liked him, she got a good vibe from him the moment they met.
The night went by in a series of laughs and good stories, but then it was time for everyone to got to bed.
The thing is all the beds were taken, except or yours.
Now when you realized this, there was a prominent heat on your cheeks.
But of course, the honorable Tim offred to sleep on the floor.
“Yeah you’re not sleeping on the ground, it’s freezing,” you state, lifting the sheets to get in, “plus I’d feel bad.”
He couldn’t argue against that so he went to the other side of you bed and crawled in.
Seeing how stiff he was, you decide to put on cheesy holiday movies on your laptop that you brought.
Putting it between the two of you, you only make it 45 minutes into the movie till you crash out.
Thing is, you were now leaning your head on his shoulder sleeping, and he blushed when he felt you nod off.
His heart was doing somersaults when he saw you sleeping, a warm feeling filling his heart.
So he turned off your computer and fell asleep with an arm wrapped around you holding you close.
After that night, the rest of your break went by in a blur.
Then the next thing you know, you were back at your apartment and life went back to normal.
Well as normal as it could have been with Tim now in the picture.
He was a good sport throughout it all.
But he needed to go home.
You guys did try your best to find a way to get him home, but it became clear that someone from the other side needed to open a portal or something.
So waiting was the only option.
It was taking his family a while though.
Enough to the point where it gave you both a bad feeling.
But you gave at least the Batfam the benefit of the doubt, Tim on the other hand, had thoughts about them forgetting him at the forefront of his mind, even as he tried to push them away.
Life goes on though, and days became weeks, weeks became months, and the next thing you knew it was March and school was eating you alive.
Currently you were in the middle of a APA essay on the couch, with Tim sitting with you, his nose stuffed in his own laptop. (Also working on stuff, but he was listening in on police conversations, old habits die hard.)
But then your roommate walks in from her 7 o'clock class.
Tim notices her pull out her phone, but something was going on with the coms, so he wasn’t paying attention to the sly smirk appearing on her face.
You weren’t paying attention, and one minute you were working on the essay and the next you had the back of a phone shoved in your face.
“And now witness the wild geek in her natural habitat, typing her life away as the rest of her sanity boils out of her blood shot eyes,” Your roommate narrates, trying and failing at doing a nature documentary voice over.
Your eyes narrow, “Bro, what the hell are you-”
“Oh but look,” Then she motions the phone in Tim’s, “There seems to be a male Geek, also having the life being slowly sucked out of him.”
She then turns the camera to face her, “Could it be some odd mating ritual? Or something else?” She lets out a dramatic sigh, “The world may never know-”
You each glanced to each other for a brief moment, and a devious smile crawls on both of your guy’s faces as you both got the same idea at the same moment.
It was lightning fast, the camera almost didn’t get it as you jumped on each other, lips meeting in a frenzy.
Cue your roommate.exe has stopped working and is now having an aneurysm because of h o l y  s h i t.
Out of all the things that she thought that you’d do, like maybe throwing her phone across the room on to the other couch, she was not expecting that.
So that is basically how the two of you became a couple.
Funnily enough, though, it was all recorded on Snapchat.
Even funnier that your older sister was friends with her on Snapchat.
You had forgotten that until your phone was ringing and you saw her face on the screen.
Oh man, was she freaking out, she was happy though, if not a maybe a little grossed out. (Ain’t nobody want to see their sister like that.)
Tim could hear the whole conversation as he left the living room with you to your room and he was trying really hard not to laugh.
This was basically how the next few weeks went.
Only now there was the addition of you going and working out with him whenever he trains. (Which was legit almost every day, and your thighs have never started to look so good, but oh my god they were never this painful.)
But in all honesty, you guys were happy, yeah Tim was kinda sad that his family never came for him.
Yet he was grateful that you were there for him, through thick and thin, whenever his mind would go back to Gotham, whenever he’d wake up shaking and heaving from a nightmare, you were there to ground him and remind him that it would all be okay.
However, fate still wanted to make Tim’s life a living hell.
It was a normal day where you got up early to head to your 8 o'clock class, everything was just the same as you sat down, but it all started going to hell when all of a sudden your classroom was filled with a flash of bright light.
Your eyeballs felt like they were fried from how bright it was.
But you could still feel yourself falling.
And you just about felt your soul leave your body from how scared you were.
Thank god that it wasn’t a considerable height that you fell.
Well, it was long enough for you to have a bruise on one whole side of your body while you forgot to breathe for a good couple of moments.
With a groan you lift yourself on your elbows, only to yelp and duck as a piece of metal was thrown over your head.
What. In. The. Actual. Hell.
There were more being thrown in all sorts of directions, and you only realized where you were when you saw a couple dudes in colorful costumes fighting it out with a dude that kept throwing white flashes of light, almost like mini suns.
They even left blotches in your eyes as you watched.
But not only was he throwing fireballs, but he was also throwing random objects, which explained the whole iron beam thing.
They kept going, and from what you realized the Batfam kept going too.
Only until the evil discount Doctor Strange threw a light ball at his feet and then he was gone.
“Damn it!” You heard Batman yell dashing to the sport where the wizard dude was but it was already too late.
“Not this shit again!” You heard the Red Hood yell out.
They were all more agitated now, but they didn’t notice you shakily stand up.
“H-Hey!” You yell out.
They all turn their heads to you, not realizing you were there.
“Y’all need to get your head in the game if we’re going to get Tim back.”
This got their attention.
The next thing you know is that you’re getting whisked away to the Batcave.
Lots of interrogation after that.
Your nerves were fried before, but now you could feel them sizzling in your mind.
So was theirs but you were pissed but how long they waited to get to him.
“It’s been months you assholes!” You let the floodgates open now, “He lies awake at night wondering why you guys haven’t come to find him, he’s been in so much pain since fucking December-”
“Woah Woah Woah,” Jason says, holding his hands up, “It’s only been two weeks, and we’ve been fighting that asshole trying to get Tim back-”
“Dude, we’ve been waiting for like four months,” You say, a voice in a deadpan.
This scared everyone in the conversation.
It even scared you.
Time went faster where you were, and nobody knows how much time has passed.
Now you were feeling horrible about leaving Tim alone.
They all got somber after that.
Conversation died off soon after, but they weren’t on your ass anymore.
Eventually, they all were ready to crash, so they all went upstairs.
Which left you and Alfred, so he offered to take you to a room to let you rest.
And so you followed, anxiety making you not really up for conversation as he led you up and into the manor.
He led you to a room, and it only took you a few seconds to realized that it was Tim’s room.
It was as tidy, with a faint smell of coffee in the air and his laptop still open on his desk.
Alfred had a feeling that you and Tim were closer than what everyone else thought, he only took you there to see if he was right or not.
From the look of your face, he knew that he was right.
“I thought that you would be more comfortable here, it seems as if you and Master Drake were inseparable,”
You smile a little and nod, “We were,”
“Then I can reassure you that we will find him and bring him home,” He smiles for a moment, shutting the door quietly behind him as he leaves.
You didn’t sleep well that night, nor the next night after that or the next.
But you didn’t have to wait long before the wizard showed up again.
They wouldn’t let you go anywhere near the action, but you stayed with Oracle in the cave, so you were able to watch the scene unfold.
At first, it seemed as if they were outmatched, but they were slowly gaining ground, and the Discount Doctor Strange saw this, but before he could set off another portal, Nightwing found an opening to his head and knocked him out with one of his escrima sticks.
It was soon after that the man was taken into custody and soon after that was he getting interrogated by Batman.
But days later, he wasn’t budging.
They were getting desperate, and you were their last option on getting information out of him.
When you walked in and saw his eyebrows raise in surprise everyone knew that they hit something there.
“Surprising that you are here, darling,” You feel your gaze narrow.
“Who are you, and why did you send him away,” You say, voice like steel.
“The question is who are you, and why are you here while he’s there?” His voice was condescending.
“You’re the reason why I’m here, and the dozens of people you’ve displaced from their homes.” (A couple of your classmates were also transported to Gotham, just scattered around the city and were showing up at the GCPD ever since looking for help.)
“Oh but you don’t realize that you have this power as well, I could sense it,” he says, and evil smile revealing his grotesque teeth. “It’s small, but it is there,”
“I don’t have-” He cuts you off.
“Ahh, but you do.” The interrogation did not go much further.
But this did end up with you in the Batcave, trying to see if he was correct.
And for the moment, you were pretty sure the asshole was messing with you.
Much to your embarrassment, as Dick and Damian were also in there with you.
Dick was supportive, but Damian was more annoyed than anything else.
“Why can’t you just suck it up and-” Damian was in the middle of one of his many criticisms, but that was the last straw from you.
“I’m freaking trying goddamnit!” You yell out, throwing your arms out behind you, too much at the moment to actually notice the light surrounding them.
It took a couple of heaving moments to notice the look of shock on Dick’s face and the smugness on Damian’s.
“What?” You ask.
“Um (Y/n), look at your hands,” Dick says pointing.
You do and let out a yelp that was half excitement and half fear.
It then took you a couple minutes to turn it off, and a couple more as you figured out how to turn it back on.
You did this a couple more times, getting the hang of it and making sure that you could control them.
Then it was really time to put it to the test, after bringing the rest of the Batfam down, you open a portal that was big enough to get you though.
You let out a nervous laugh, “Wish me luck, guys.”
“We don’t need to, we already know Tim’s in good hands,” Dick says smiling.
“Bring him home, (Y/N),” Bruce says, hope in his gaze (An emotion rarely is ever seen on his face.)
And so you walk through, light blinding your vision as you step though.
For a couple moments, you blinked away the dark blotches left by the blinding light.
You let out a cry of joy when you realize that you were back in your apartment kitchen.
Dashing out of the room, and onto the hallway, you bump straight into a familiar chest, both your eyes widening at the sight of each other.
“Tim!” You exclaim out of breath, itching to hold him close.
At first, he couldn’t say anything, bringing his hands to your face as if he was making sure that you were real and were right there, whole in front of him. “(Y/N)?”
In less than a second, you guys were on each other, your arms wrapped around his neck, and his around your waist, neither one of you wanting to let go.
“Oh my god, (Y/N), where did you go, it’s been over a week, everyone has been worried sick,” He chokes up a bit against your neck.
“Heh, it’s a long story, but I’m pretty sure you want to hear it.”
You tell him everything that happened in the passed few days for you, and while he listened, he felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
His family didn’t forget him.
After you finished with your story, Tim filled you in on what was happening while you were gone.
Your family came when they found out what happened in your class, while he and your roommate were doing all they could to figure out how to find you.
You called them after Tim told you, and then you had everyone make it your apartment in almost no time.
You were pretty sure that you were never hugged and questioned more ever in your life.
Everyone stayed late, but eventually, they went to their hotel room for the night.
Then after a long hug from your roommate, she too retired to her room, and finally, both you and Tim were alone.
That was the first night that you too actually slept decently for a while. (After some you know what.)
But then the conversation came up about what the two of you were gonna do.
Tim had to get home, but you had a decision to make on whether you would stay or go with him.
After a lot of talking, you decided that you were going to go with him, but you would take frequent trips too and from so that you can stay in contact with your friends and family.
The next day you let everyone know what the plan was, at first they were hesitant ut they knew you’d be happier with him.
And the next day, you made a portal that took you and Tim back to the Batcave.
Turns out it a day had passed since you’ve gone back so maybe you could control what time you could get to a place, you thought but were interrupted when you and Tim were legit tackled by everyone, including Damian.
Tears were shed, feelings were spared, and a whole lot of love was pouring into the room.
Once everyone had gotten their selves partially together, you reached out for Tim’s hand, your finger’s threading together.
“Welcome home, Hon.” You say, smiling brightly.
Tim’s smile matches yours with a little amusement sneaking through, “Welcome to the DC Universe, Babe.”

Hi, I think I have an anxiety disorder. I get terrible anxiety attacks all the time and it's been this way for years now. I tried convincing my parents to let me go to therapy, but I still haven't managed to. I'm havning trouble studying for an exam that has been delayed someting like seven times in a month and, despite having studied all this time, I have forgotten stuff instead of learning it better, which means that I will do the exam another time. Could memory loss be an anxiety thing? -Bo
Hey there Bo,
It sounds like you have a lot going on for you at the moment with both your ongoing anxiety and the difficulty that you have with studying and not being able to remember things as well as you once were able to. Please don’t give up trying though, maybe you can try to study in different ways and see if that is more helpful for you in regards to recalling the information you need to for your exam.
I’m not sure how you’re studying at the moment but I will list some suggestions of different ways you can try to study and hopefully one or two of these things will be helpful for you.
Writing out flash cards with questions on one side and answers on the other. This can help you to test your knowledge and even just asking yourself the questions and then turning the card around to see the answer can be helpful and especially to begin with.
Writing out notes a few times (just normal notes) can help to cement the information in your head, and even writing out your own questions and answering them without the use of your notes and work book can be helpful too. I find that the more you write things down the more it’s likely to stick in your head.
Depending on what the topic is that your exam is on you can break the topics down and make posters with the required information you need to remember. This allows you to be creative if you’re a creative person and just helps you to learn the information in a more fun way and so it’s not so boring if that makes sense.
Writing certain bits of information on post it notes and putting them up around your room or other areas of the house that you use a lot, this can help you to always be looking at different types or bits of information
When studying it’s also important to take regular breaks, so perhaps studying for 20-25 mins and then having a quick break to stretch your legs or have a snack if you’re hungry. And in terms of memory and anxiety, it could affect the ability to learn and recall information but this is something that I would encourage you to speak to your doctor about as they will be able to answer your question more fully!
In regards to your anxiety, it does sound as though you may have something going on but I am not a professional so if you’re able to see your local doctor or GP then I would encourage you to see them so that they can assess you and refer you on to further help, support and treatment where needed. If you were able to see your local doctor or GP then this could help your parents to see that you do need some extra help and support in your life right now in terms of seeing a professional like a counsellor or therapist.
We do have a page on getting help that I encourage you to also check out, it has suggestions on who you can talk to for help, how you can start the conversation and what you could say and also what kind of help that is out there that might be beneficial for you to try. Hopefully you might find something helpful on there that you can use to try and convince and show your parents that you are needing professional help right now. Please also remember that you can talk to a counsellor from a helpline or on web counselling at any time too!
You mentioned in your Ask that you have been having ongoing anxiety attacks for a few years now and so I’m wondering if you have found anything that has been helpful for you to reduce the level of anxiety you may be feeling. We do have some self-help pages that you should really look at as they can be really helpful to try and help you through an anxiety attack and reduce the level of anxiety you may usually feel. These pages are calming anxiety and panic and grounding techniques.
I really hope that this has been helpful and that your able to see someone really soon!
Please know that I’m thinking of you and that I wish you all the best!
Take care,
Lauren
