Seriously, Amy Rose basically written as Elle Woods is great. Elle's got a core of empathy that sometimes gets swept up in her own stuff. She's smart, dedicated, and (at least early in her arc) would follow a guy across the country and push herself to achieve a fairly difficult feat in the hopes of impressing him enough to get him to propose.

The only difference is that as far as I know Elle Woods cannot swing a hammer hard enough to destroy a Badnik in one swing, but that could just be one of those things that never came up in the movies.
