being an adult is realizing that yeah the manhattan transfer version of birdland is not as good as literally any big band version
#the words don’t mean anything and the fact that they add words to the scatting just!#idk that really bothers me lmao#like any sax solo is better than whatever she was doing about good music really good music#and as an aside I feel like it’s a levels thing#the scatting isn’t distinct enough from the rest of the group so it just kinda melts into noise#and they push the voices so hard that you lose some of the shine of the bass and rhythm section#also i feel like they slowed it down somehow though I haven’t like compared bpm it just felt slower#anyway you guys all know this classic feeling right?
