Maybe it's just me idk but even when characters who aren't related call each other siblings I just don't give af if they're shipped together. Relationship dynamics change with time and experience especially when it comes to like childhood friends and shipping characters doesn't automatically mean you think they literally always felt attraction towards each other. DAMIAN WAYNE SCHOOL HEADCANONS because school opened like 2-3 weeks ago and i need to cope

•since he is 15 years old, he is in 10th grade(not letting dc pull a tim drake and make him the same age forever)

•he used to love chemistry in the 9th grade because the first subject was alchemy if i remember correctly(dc can pry the "al ghuls are alchemists" hc(canon) from my cold dead hands)

but he lost interest in chemistry quickly after the subject passed.

•his all time favourite classes are math and art. im just sure damian's type of person that doesnt separate math and art from eachother

•why art is his favourite is a given but his favourite is math because math is a class based on problem solving(and also because he can do math easily)

but yeah ik his classmates are very very annoyed whenever he says "math is easy"

•I imagine him arguing with his english teacher the most for some reason. there is no reason other than damian is a very educated kid about the english literature(literature in general) so either he doesnt care or he correct his teacher on literally everything.

•i feel like he would either do a very detail research about the book he read and write a very long essay, or make a very short one and not enough detailed. no in between(because he misunderstood his teachers when they said to "keep it short")

•he begged his father to let him take an exam that lets him skil grades based on his level but his father refused so now he takes advanced math etc.

•him and duke see eachother in the morning regularly(insomniac duke, and damian who wakes up at 5.30 is real) and they sit down to talk about random shit till 7 am mostly(duke explained him the fnaf lore and damian talked about creepypastas real)

•he texts with maps both on their way to their separate schools and make plans to meetup after school to just hang out

•damian usually reads or draws in most of the classes since he already knows everything they are teaching but when asked a question, he does yap a lot(dc should bring back yapper damian ngl)

•bathroom breakdowns were very real for 9th grade damian(literally canon event for everyone with social anxiety or people who get overstimulated at school)

•still bullied just doesnt care about it and insults them/messes with them back to get back at the bullies(it stops after him also messing with them)

•he loves playing football and volleyball but not with his teammates(ik hes #3 frat boy hater i just feel it) so he only gets along with 2 of his teammates. i imagine their personality as scott and stiles from teen wolf so yeah

•has one(1) friend and two(2) teammates he doesnt hate in total(girlfailure and girlsuccess damian youre real to me🙌😼)

also he got multiple friends outside of school anyways lmao bro is anything BUT anti-social(to me hes also the type to join his schools projects etc or debate teams)

•he always calls his mother when he makes it to school and whenever hes leaving it because talia worries and he wants ease her worries(ultimate mother daughter duo)

•after school he has a yap session with nika and they talk about everything that happened to them that day(yapper4yapper gravebird my beloved)

•him and stephanie rant about school daily and talk about how much they hate it(but they both wont drop out since steph wants that med school degree and damian also wants it in the future(med student sisterisms real))

•jon may be going to a journalism school(i think??) but hes still a science nerd so their study sessions always turns into an argument about an equation or a science problem

like yall for real?? for real. for real i have been diagnosed since i was like six. (funny story my teacher thought i was on the spectrum so my parents get me tested with the nodes and shit and according to mom, who loves this story, my neurologist did all that and talked to me and then just turned to my mom and went "she's not autistic. she just hates the other kids" but they DID find an adhd diagnosis in there so net win for all of us)

diagnosed since i was SIX. on stimulants until i turned 8, and you know why i got off em? my pediatrician retired. we could not find another who would take our low-income insurance. so i just had to rawdog The Rest Of My Fucking Life. diagnosed when i was six. legally neurodivergent for 20 slutty slutty angry years.

and it still took me like. a few months to get a psych appointment. a few weeks to reaffirm my diagnosis as an adult. a few more weeks for another appointment for meds. he doesnt Want to do meds first, because i must have been doing fine without them if its been two decades, right? i got a job and a car and everything. well gee fuckin shittickers Dr. Brain Guy, just WHAT was my alternative? would you prefer i be maladapted to the point of incapacitation; is that what it takes for someone to be considered? i cheated my way through school. every day after work i sit for an hour in my car because i dont have the executive function to stand up and walk the ten steps to my house. garbage just appears around me. i have three empty bags of hot chip and two cans of sprite on my desk as we speak, neither from today. at that point i hadnt had a debit card for six months because that would have required me to Drive To The Bank, a location that was new to me in this area, so i just did everything on credit. is this all normal? is this fine? am i GOOD, actually, Dr. WeirdBrain?

so we cordially agree that yes i should probably be medicated. i want to do a stimulant. he does not want to put me on a stimulant. "stimulants can mess with your heart," he says, "and you're young, you don't want heart problems." i say ok because i dont want to make him think im just looking for narcotics. even though i am. because they WORK. i agree to try some kind of antidepressant.

the antidepressant gives me tachycardia. i go to the emergency room after reading a heartbeat of, oh, 140 bpm, which is about like double what it normally is and juuuust below the You Are Having A Heart Attack threshold. i get to the ER and the doctor there is very obviously convinced i'm a local addict having some sort of episode. it is the most ironic experience i've had all year and i feel an abrupt and all consuming kinship with those birds in australia that will swoop you and peck at your face for seemingly no good reason.

so yeah, we narrow it down to the antidepressant. as it turns out, these particular meds are known to, semi-commonly, Mess With Your Heart. i have my next appointment with my psych and somehow refrain from pecking his eyes out. he puts me on a noreprinephrine inhibitor(iirc) that isnt actually FDA approved to treat ADHD specifically(i DEFINITELY rc) but it IS given to smokers to help them quit. i dont smoke. i may very well fucking start before this whole ordeal is at the point where someone listens to me

it obviously does a combined total of jack and shit, and the man waffles with this one because he has "had success" using it as treatment for other ADHD patients. he ups the dose. twice. three months on the smoker meds, which are also apparently notorious for destroying your appetite, but they didnt even do THAT. no change to the average amount of hot chip on my desk.

he wants to try quelbree after that. i finally tell him i'm tired of this shit and would like to have more than two hours of usable daylight to function before it all falls to uncontrollable youtube shorts binges and a daily experience i like to call The Weighted Nothings and i would very much like to PLEASE. TRY A STIMULANT.

he's been friendly enough with me over these past four or five or whatever months but at this he gets suddenly very very business-baseline. gives me the whole spiel about the north american shortage. gives me a spiel about how i absolutely cannot, under any circumstances, lose or sell this medication, because they will not refill it if i do. i am sitting here wondering if he he's telling the truth about having other ADHD patients at all like ever in his career, and also, am i nuts or should the "don't sell your prescription drugs" bit apply to EVERYTHING? i dont fuckin know man i just live here

he says he wants a urine test first. its scheduled for two weeks out. i take it.

"hey uh, your piss came back with cannabis in it" "well it'd be weirder if it didn't, we are in california and i am a kitchen manager" "you can't have weed if you want adderall" "fine i'll stop" "we'll schedule you another test in a month" "aight bet" it didnt go exactly like that but this is kind of what the vibe between us has devolved into by this point.

anyway i wait a month and get a good grade in piss. i get the meds prescribed. i go to fill out the prescription

all i really need to say to you are the words "prior authorization error" for most of you to get what happened next.

the psych isnt even aware. i wait another month for our next meeting, which was yesterday. i do not yell at him. he tells me to take it up with the pharmacy, and yell at them. i am going to yell at them.

so i go, and guess what, it actually went through a while ago! NO ONE TOLD ME OR DR. FEEL-BAD OVER HERE. but we can't fill it right now because its a controlled substance so come back in a few hours. hey it's ready where the hell are you? TAKE YOUR METH AND GET OUT

anyway i started it today, reorganized my pantry, and fixed the fire alarm in my hallway that's been chirping at me for a week. i no longer have to wear earplugs to bed.

and with my newfound executive function superpowers, i will be spraying my weed-free piss all over Reagan's grave.

Uhh looking back at this post, it’s highkey a sako character analysis post in disguise. Spoilers Ahead for Wind Breaker Chapters 160 & 161! (as promised with doodles)

This last panel with everyone toasting to each other feels like the end to the Summer BBQ event, at least to me. *shakes and wails off into the corner*

So many friendships being strengthened, healing/healed and being made in this one event is making my heart do somersaults. GAHHH!! I would���ve loved if we stayed in this wholesome moment a little longer if it is the last but oh well at least these recent two chapters have given me two things to brainrot about for a while. 🤧

Sako Kota and his relationships

Hooray!! We finally get to see the (much needed) closure of HiraSako’s *gestures wildly* everything, in that moment my spirit synced up with Inugami. 

I’m sure it doesn’t take a genius to point out Sako had an unhealthy dependency towards Hiragi from when they were kids up ‘til the Shishitoren arc. On the surface level, Sako’s reasons for getting back at him may seem very immature and they are but I also see where it stemmed from. Hiragi was essentially the first to take a chance on him when he was at his lowest and gave him a chance to better himself.   Hiragi to him was the pinnacle of strength and security, his guiding light (Chapter 15). He likely thought that even when things change, he would always be by his side because with him, he’s safe—with him, he’s strong. Stronger than he was before, someone who wouldn’t let bullies trample over him.

So when the latter told him he was following Ume and that he should follow his own path, which is normally very inspiring, Sako took it as abandonment. In his eyes, his pillar of strength was no longer holding up the weight of his (Hiragi’s) own roof but rather someone else’s (Umemiya’s’) and he was left in the ruins (dramatic ass analogy I know but it works).

“If Hiragi had been the source of his strength, then if he beats Hiragi that means he’s reclaiming that strength as his own right?” was what probably went through his head when he started picking fights and joined Shishitoren.

His reliance on Hiragi was still there but now it was twisted and he likely started hating himself for having been content with remaining a follower. If you asked my personal thoughts about this, I would say it was unfair. Not just for Hiragi bearing the weight of his unreasonable expectations, but also for Sako himself whose helplessness as a child manifested into the ugly beast that is emotional dependency. 

Deep down, he was still the same hurt child who couldn’t fight back against his bullies and needed someone to support him. When that support came and fell through, he thought defeating Hiragi was his way of proving to himself that he can stand on his own without relying on others. The point when things finally climaxed (aka the Hiragi vs Sako fight) was the moment when Sako had begun letting go of his heart demons. Turns out he just needed to have a talk or two with Hiragi. Communication and respect are the keys to any healthy relationship after all, even if said communication is thru fists but they are delinquents so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. 

With that tangent on Sako’s previous ideologies out of the way, another thing I noticed in his official apology was that he called Inugami “kohai” and also like other things he said, but mainly that part. Maybe I’m reading into it or im late to the party, but me thinks he was somewhat of recluse in Shishitoren. Like sure, he wouldn’t be outright hostile but he wouldn’t be actively making friends either.

When Inugami first appeared and was very comfortable talking to him, it made me think “ah this is Sako’s new bestie when he came to Shishitoren, it’s good someone was there for him while he was gunning for Hiragi”.  But with this new context, in my head it makes sense if he only joined because he wanted revenge so he likely wouldn’t have reached out if he was so fixated on his goals. And with the whole uh pre-Shishitoren arc Choji and Togame thing going around, yeah I wouldn’t also be eager to make be friendly with them too. But somewhere along the way he got attached to them, he just didn’t realized it at the time.

After Bofurin bulldozes in with their life changing fists and kicks, Sako leaving wouldn’t have been a hard decision for him to make since (1) he’s got presumably no friends and (2) he wants to wallow in self pity alone for a good long while. Then comes crashing in sweet boy Inugami and honestly? I don’t blame Sako for spilling his entire backstory on the guy. I mean look at his face!! 

He’s Sako’s emotional support dog. 

Anyways, in my heart I’d like to believe Inugami was the second person to reach out to him. Offering him another chance to lean on support and start anew on learning to be okay with accepting a hand or two but not to the extreme. Trusting others and letting people in again, but also learning to trust in himself too.

And so far, things are going pretty well for him. Found family within Shishitoren, got someone who’s unafraid to keep him in check and repaired his relationship with Hiragi & his other childhood friends! Throwing all the confetti and sweets for him <3

HOO-WEE THAT WAS SO FUCKING LONG 😭😭 

I wanted to add more to this latter half of this discussion but the Sako-brainrot took over, so i’ll just briefly cover my thoughts on Sakura’s progress.

Two words: SAKURA’S GROWTH! 

HE IS BLOOMING IN THE SUMMER HEAT OF JULY, HE’S RADIANT AND HIS SKINS GLOWING AS HE SMILES, IM SMOTHERING HIM IN A PILE OF FLOWER BOUQUETS -*ahem*

Sakura really has come a really long way from the person he was 4 months ago and it’s a real tear-jerker. Even if he didn’t say it to their faces directly, he called his class his friends and he hangs out with the others (their allies) on his own whenever he has the time. Sakura’s getting comfortable with all of them and I cannot believe that after 160+ chapters this is the first canonical mention of the “stray cat” analogy. His first year and he already won the hearts of so many people, deserved really 🙌.

The Kanuma and Suo reunion I’ve been waiting for 👏👏. But it’s not enough,, so I’m gonna post a doodle of their mini interaction to satisfy my craving for enemies to friends and/or lovers suonuma 🏃🏃

Now for playful land I was thinking Fellow/Ernesto at first.... But I actually think I like the idea of Yuu in that AU being Gidel/Gino's twin. Just cute little kid who becomes psudo adopted by the older NRC boys. Yuu who's actually pretty bright and loves to learn. I even like the idea that if Gidel is twisted from Gideon, then Yuu is twisted from Figaro. The two look different enough that people don't peg them as siblings right away(Yuu has black hair and yellow eyes like Figaro. Also a nod to the fact a litter of kittens can have multiple fathers and coat patterns)

once it's figured out. Of course Fellow and Gidel have to come to NRC and Ramshackle! What kind of big brother would Fellow be if he didn't keep an eye out on his new sibling? Why so shocked? If he's Gidel's big bro he must be Yuu's big bro right? The NRC boys call bull on that. If anybody is Yuu's big bro it's them.

And Gidel and Yuu are just happy to have somebody their own age and they're siblings too! Yuu happily speaks up for Gidel and is absolutely "He asked for no pickles" with Gidel nodding his head along. Yuu actually even tries to help Fellow and Gidel with learning to read, write, math... Etc....

Nightmare before Christmas event. Skully's twin. Now Skully's human and he died centuries ago before the start. Well, what if Yuu died and reincarnated? Separated all those centuries ago. What if the two actually got to grow up together. Yuu being one of the few people who genuinely understood Skully. Even if he didn't have friends at NRC, his twin Yuu was his biggest support.

and then Yuu passed away while they were teens when both were attending NRC. Maybe Yuu died before Skully did and his soul lingered around ramshackle because he wants one chance to see his twin again. A reincarnated Yuu arriving and Skully not having enough energy to show himself but he follows Yuu around because he just feels a connection with them so he always worries about them. Oh how he wished he could have given those other ghosts a thrashing when they kicked Yuu out of Ramshackle during the ghost marriage event!

Then they all get sucked into the book, including ghost Skully. Skully, who hasn't been solid for centuries can finally touch people again. Skully who can't help but cradle Yuu gently while they're asleep. He's always wanted to be able to talk to them. When Yuu awakens they're not really bothered by Skully. In fact, he feels kind of familiar but they can't place from where.

Afterwards once everybody is free from the book, the truth of Skully is revealed and Yuu asks for the portrait. Saying how they think it should be in Ramshackle. Wasn't that Skully's dorm after all?(I say yes in this AU)

Skully's spirit who lingers, back to watching over Yuu but slowly growing stronger and hopefully can even become corporeal enough to interact directly. If not, He'll just have to talk to them again once Halloween comes around again. They have centuries of catching to do.

Husband Series: Lee Know

First, i see him being very overwhelmed with responsibilities and just giving very stressed vibes, like going left and right, doing this and that and being just very hyper focus on whats on his mind and what should get done and i see him getting a bit lost in that feeling. I don't see it being a permanent thing tho maybe just in the beginning he'll habe a transitioning phase where he is a bit all over the place until he finds his place in his new family.

I see him being a provider and being the main breadwinner in the family. He likes it like that actually. Its a bit of a subtle energy, so maybe he wont talk about it or actively show that he likes it but i think its something he feels should be that way and he feels proud being able to properly provide for his family and be of importance and use to his loved ones.

I don't see him being very communicative or romantic tho, im sensing loneliness from his partner. The thing is, i don't see him necessarily being cold or dry, but rather he's difficult to enter and gwt to know on a deeper level and that lack of emotional intimacy will probably be a problem in his marriage. I also see his communication style being very sharp, short and to the point with not much sugarcoating or flare - so i guess his marriage may be more of a task or a transactional thing for him. Like "i give u money you give me kids, we keep each other company." Thats just about it. I think his fun and playful side will be more for his friends rather for his marriage, especially when responsibilities like house, kids etc come. Why is that such a theme with so many men that think life stops when they get married and now everything gets serious and its all about responsibilities and why on earth do men lose interest in their wife's once they get married😭 im seeing this with lee know i saw similar energy with chan as well.

Anyways im seeing him being passionate in bed tho, probably the only times he's playful with his partner and shows passion and emotion. I believe those are the times his spouse gets reminded that lee know actually loves them.

And lastly - a very lovely card - he is gonna be very involved with the kids later on if they have them, if not they'll probably have pets, and he'll be very involved in that then. Or if they have both than with both😂. So im seeing him being a good dad and also taking a lot of the responsibilities from his spouse when it comes to this, so despite him being the breadwinner i think the child-duty will be more or less evenly distributed among them which is a huge bonus i think cuz sadly, thats not a given🥲

Overall im seeing him being a great support for his spouse, maybe not so much in the emotional department but still overall he looks very stable, responsible and rational, some passion, fun and romance lacking here and there but even then he's still a good person to vent to or as for advice or emotional support once u get used to his style.

i think rewatching stranger things makes it even clearer that mike did in fact lie to el during his monologue to her in the pizza kitchen.

s1 when they first find el the first thing mike says is “that’s not will” and he only keeps her around because he realized she could help them find will. when it’s just him, dustin, and lucas he literally calls her a weapon (which should he only sees her as an object at this point) i also think this adds to his confusion when lucas insists he likes el romantically (at this point his main focus is finding will and making sure he’s okay)

s2 when they first see max and dustin talks about how he thinks she’s awesome because of how high she scored on dig dug mike is genuinely confused and annoyed by this and points out that they don’t even know enough about max to determination that she’s awesome

he also tells el he didn’t stop looking for her which we the audience know isn’t true because he actively prioritized will’s well being in that season if that where true the directors could’ve easily put scenes in when he’s on the walkie while will is resting but they didn’t do that

(also personally don’t interpret mike anger towards hopper for not telling them that el is alive as inherently romantic because i feel anyone would be fucked up by how much mike is emotionally going through in s2)

also on top of that mike does have a tendency to really internalize and reflect on the criticism that he’s given and tries to fix those things that he’s been called out for. when dustin calls him out in s1 and tells him he needs to apologize to lucas (dustin does acknowledge that mike, lucas, and el all did something wrong but because mike escalated it into something physical he needs to be the one to set things right) he protest at first but then tries to make things right between him and lucas TWICE then with el he also does apologize or i guess i should say acknowledge that she messed with the compass to protect them (i also kinda feel like this is the moment that really solidified why “friends don’t lie” is so important within the show). at the end of s1 when dustin tells him el physically isn’t in the place to use her powers again because she has overexerted herself that moment gets payed off in s3 when mike is worried about el using her powers too much (which is the reason she ended up disappearing at the end of s1) he doesn’t want to that to happen to her again. (there are definitely more examples but these are the ones from the top of my head)

this kid does NOT believe in love at first sight and a lot of their relationship is developed OFF SCREEN so if they do have sweet moments we literally don’t know about it because it’s not shown

and i also want to add that a lot of the moments of mike trying to fix things with el (romantically) ONLY happen with encouragement from other people in s3 that person was lucas and in s4 that person was will.

i finally played pathologic 2 and i dont know anyone who played pathologic 2. so im writing the thoughts here. these are my thoughts on pathologic 2, from someone who thinks pathologic 1 is perfect

i hate to go reviewer brain on this but im conflicted so let's go reviewer brain and start with The Positives

the spectacle is truly wonderful. seeing the town recreated in clear autumnal glory, having kids walking around and actually talking to and playing with eachother, the architecture of each building being ramped up in its strangeness. the poetic item descriptions and the implications thereof in the culture. as a base to build a game off of this is all a fantastic progression of patho1's game world

the new gameplay elements also feed into this, the factory being a proper base you can do upgrades in, the children's caches hidden around and the world they convey, the weirdness of the dead item shop, having an actual job you have to do and get paid for is especially fantastic!!!

for the first few days this liveliness is very pronounced and theres lots of good character moments, a profundity of activities, there continues to be some of this throughout the game. there wasn't a point where i was thinking this is bad or anything

but also... as a game called 'pathologic 2', somethings missing, isnt it...? it's not just that there's only one character out of three - even with that in mind it feels like the game doesnt really scratch some of its surfaces. when i think of any route of pathologic it feels hopelessly dense, overloaded with information, almost every single character getting at least one long monologue about something that is connected to what multiple other characters are doing at this time. patho2's interactions feel (i must stress 'feel', im sure a few great ones could be pointed out to me) on average lighter by a lot, which works well for when there is a profundity of things happening at any given time but that's not a constant for the whole game. at which point the "extremely choreographed walk from monologue to monologue" retains some power over what exists now

(the move AWAY from that, towards something 'alive', is a valiant goal. but it's merely a goal.)

and none of this would bother me that much if i played the game in a vacuum. the focus of patho2 is different than patho1 and that is to be expected and valued. it's a new game, and the things that distinguish it are what make it worthwhile to exist. it's a great game, and a part of a whole (the series as a whole), all things are connected by the lines

but it's just a bit frustrating in the context of the way people talk about these games: "patho1 was the limited unplayable game, its not what they REALLY wanted to make. patho2 is the actual successful execution of those ideas, that's the one you SHOULD play". certainly some ideas got to be brought to life in 2 that were sterile in 1 (see above), but i'm trying to imagine a world where patho2 is the first or only game in the series someones played, and it just doesn't work!!! the disarmingness of the game mechanics is striking for all players, but there is simply not enough there for the characters to feel fleshed out for a newcomer - the kains dont really do anything, the political power struggle rarely comes into play, the bachelor and changeling are very funny when you meet them but rarely interact with anything you're doing, aspity is... just not interesting, and even when i keep in mind that many characters only do a couple things per route in 1, the characters in 2 simply don't talk about eachother enough. the illusion of life breaks and the existence of life can't compensate throughout most of the game. we know a lot of characters opinions of eachother in 1, but 2 will just quickly brush over a thing we knew from 1 or not mention it at all, and not develop it too much further

again that's not universal, the new connections between your personal childhood friend group are great!! but they don't keep their relevance either, you dont get to keep meeting with them throughout the game as a group and discuss whats going on. i thought i must have missed a lot by how many characters in my game died (a very cool new addition), but when i look it up there was only a handful of things. maybe those would have been enough to change my experience, but it's much less than i expected. and so the overall sense i get of the game is empty... i was thinking "im gonna HAVE to replay this one" but it doesnt seem like it would be as rewarding as it gives the illusion of being

which again iiiis fiiine because theres a lot i enjoyed in whats in there. but u have to think about how the pathologic subreddit is almost always talking about patho2 without even having to specify it when someone makes a thread asking a specific question. its just assumed that people only play patho2. so how does this fandom even work??? why do people care about eva yan or the stamatin brothers or anna angel or aspity or the kains or saburovs or the bachelor or clara or general block if they have only played the game that barely goes into their deals? is it solely feeding off fan fic and fanart by those who have dug deeper??? probably i guess but that's very strange to me!!! or youtubers and i restate my usual take that people who make videos about pathologic should by and large be bullied for pushing this narrative of "oh patho 1 is SOOO hard and miserable you could NEVER play it unless youre a skilled hyper gamer which almost none of us are cause we're so weak. only i can play it and interpret it because im smart" like they work at a church or something. also patho2 is a lot more crushing of a game. to be honest.

(re: general block: the army is like barely in this game? block gets hidden away somewhere by longin and people talk about that a lot but longin is literally not in the game so what??? they couldve reworked the entire military presence to make them wayyy more involved it couldve been cool)

some of this is even echoed by the devisers - btw i can barely find any convo on the devisers or the PTB's role in this game or isidor ghazar or mark's quantum mechanics moment which are all the actually interesting and cool new deep lore parts of this game. theres actually MORE talk about p1's deeplore. so idk what's up with that - but anyway one of the devisers says to you "We're wasting years copying what already existed, and we have no time to add anything original on top." like thats literally in the game, in present tense. the limitations of patho2 as a work are part of what patho2 is so idk i think to get real value from it we have to engage it as a work on its own and not "pathologic remake" which is what everyone wants it to be even though its so inadequete at being that

so speaking of which, getting into analysis, those ending choices, huh? i only saw diurnal myself because why would i come all this way and not cure the plague. but the choice you have is interesting here because its a sort of nullification of the choices you had in patho1. which were destroy the polyhedron, destroy the town, or instate the invisible storm but dont do that one. the polyhedron was the ultimate symbol of modernity, an eternal end of history, while the town was culture as a progression of real peoples lives. but now, destroying the polyhedron is destroying the cultural history. one is entwined with the other and can't be untangled. so if you come into this from patho1 (AS YOU SHOULD) the choice is extra unsatisfying because the dichotomy is eating its own tail. i don't think either one feels particularly meaningful honestly - other people have pointed out that the game ultimately asking you to choose between the parts of your racial ancestry shuts down whatever interesting things might have been happening in the game regarding your racial ancestry

i think thats true (i AM unsatisfied with that entire story compared to its enormous potential... though i did miss some shekhen content, love that place's existence) but im feeling a bit more positive because i know that pathologic 3 will come out this very year. which is not the bachelor's story in the sense it was originally designed but what i mean is i know theres a future for the series so i can think about what they were trying to do here without despairing over "wouldve been good if they could do that"

in patho1 clara's route can only be played after playing another character's, and concludes a lot of themes from the other routes. its not that it necessarily concludes them, u can get the secret scenes for example in the others, but if you play them in order clara's is already aware of and interacting with deeplore, so there's a clear progression. and in patho2 mark refers to "the next play"... i think part of what you'd probably be doing if youre doing a "more modern" take on pathologic is to actually track progression more directly and have a specific ending scene for playing all three characters, right? that's not how it would go now, but i wonder if the endings of haruspex is made with that in mind. i wonder if the plan was that mark is aware of you the player's progression and each play would end unsatisfyingly no matter what, with mark vowing to do it better next time, culminating in the ability not to unlock a proper ending, but to at least argue about your situation. it's suggested at one point that artemy may have been a real person at one point and the play is merely a restaging of his actions in the past - which of course it is, pathologic 2 is a self-aware adaptation of 1 literally and in-universe. so the endings don't point towards any real future for the town, but if they solved the issues at hand there'd be no reason for a next play... the true goal can only occur in sequence, sequences within sequences

while im here, the powers that be saying they want me to destroy the polyhedron because they want to grow up is a good contender for most unsettling thing in any of these games!? wtf would it mean for the demiurges of this world to grow up??? is that good or bad for us?? this too would be part of the metanarrative that i assume will continue in the now-sequels

while i did find the parts of the game that are less interesting retreads to be, less interesting, so much of the new stuff and the new themes its trying to get at are fascinating for me to think about ... the idea of a "real human" gets brought up a lot and i'd need to look at some of those convos again. the invisibles-esque idea that all of what we go through, both us as a player and the town as a world, is a form of growth needed to achieve our real potential, which is not superhuman but, in fact, actually, truly human. it's a development of themes that WERE in 1 (games as a way to process and understand death, the effort to use the game as a turing test and/or focus to determine the presence of human consciousness) but it's a new side to this. isidor and simon (and georgiy in the marble nest, who is basically simon) devised a plan, an ideology, that is cruel and painful but also a necessary step in the road to true consciousness... at the end of the marble nest you can tell the executor that you're ready to accept the bachelor's death because you are not the bachelor, and it shows you a door at the top of one of peter's staircases... so what i'm saying is, i am god and so are you and we are awakening from our collective dream of separation (which - its just hitting me now - is so obvious if we're dolls of the powers that be. because a hand is holding it and doing a funny little voice, but really, it's all just that hand, isn't it. straw dolls with nametags...) (is the ultimate endgame of this story transcendental growth for everyone involved? for the ptb to grow up into adults, which involves slowly piece by piece putting away each one of their toys, which involves the toys themselves remembering what they are beyond their individualistic sense of ego???? oh my god????)

An onlooker might be wondering why you’re standing outside your neighbor’s door at ass o’clock in nothing but an oversized tee, but the answer is simple. Mistakes were made. You’re an idiot.

But then he has the audacity to answer the door. “He” as in Min Yoongi, your childhood friend slash nemesis, the older brother of your best friend, or, in the simplest terms, your hot neighbor.

“Yes?” he raises a brow, staring at the way you’re shivering outside his door, the way your perky nipples are most definitely poking through your shirt. You’re sure he sees it all. But given the fact that he’s also seen you practically naked, you don’t even bother covering up. What’s the point?

“Did you, by chance, get an AirDrop like five minutes ago?” you get straight to the point. It’s fucking freezing, after all.

“Depends,” he hums, eyes still very much on your chest. You’re pretty sure he’s dating that pretty brunette you’ve seen sneaking in and out of his house lately, so why’s he looking at you like that? “What was the AirDrop?”

“A picture of me,” you mumble. It was freezing a minute ago, but now your face feels hot. That’s weird.

“Hmm, not sure if the one I’m thinking of is you or not.” The bastard puts on his most exaggerated thinking face—basically the thinking emoji with the hand on his chin. “What were you wearing?”

“Nothing!” you squeak at him. Both of you know no one fucking uses AirDrop except old people. He’s obviously playing dumb and knows what’s going on. He just wants to hear it from your mouth to make his ego bigger than it already is. “You know what I’m talking about.”

“Pretty sure you were wearing something…” he furrows his brow, unlocking his phone to “confirm” what he saw. Like your favorite villain Swiper the Fox, you snatch the phone out of his hand. (He actually just hands it to you, but you like the Dora reference.) “Ah, yes. Black strappy lingerie, right? I didn’t know you were like that, Y/N.”

“Fuck you,” you hiss as you search for the pic in question. AirDrop must have its own stupid section on the phone because you can’t find it anywhere.

“Relax, I already deleted it,” he chuckles. You’re not falling for it. Surely he’s already leaked the photo on OnlyFans. You don’t have a whole lot of faith in Min Yoongi. He’s never been The Nice Guy. “Who were you trying to send it to?”

“None of your business.” He has a girlfriend, after all. Why should he care about who you’re sending those kinds of pics to?

“My sister?”

“Fine. Yes, her.”

“You’re sneaking around sending nudes to my sister? On AirDrop?” he narrows his eyes. Why does he seem more disgusted at the AirDrop part? You’d laugh if you weren’t so stressed. “She’s in a very committed relationship, you know.”

“I’m aware.” You don’t know what’s worse—him thinking you’re hitting on his sister aka your best friend, or admitting the pic was from a photoshoot for your new job. There are no winners here. Might as well come clean. “She requested the pic so she could show support for her lingerie model best friend.”

“My little Y/N grew up and became a lingerie model?” He tilts his head, intrigued. He might’ve deleted the pic from his phone, but you bet the image is still ingrained in that fuckboy head of his. You wonder how his girlfriend feels about him thinking about other girls in that context. You’d feel shitty. “In that case, I’d also like to show support. Mind if you send the pic ag—” 

You cut him off with a growl.

“I kid, I kid.” He waves his hands so you don’t pounce on him. But then something occurs to him. “Wait, so AirDropping it to me wasn’t ‘an accident’?” he asks with air quotes.

“No, it was a real accident, Yoongi,” you scoff. You can’t believe he thought you’d intentionally sent that pic to him. He’s so full of himself.

“Well that’s no fun.”

“Elaborate.”

“It would’ve been kinda cute if you did it to get my attention,” he shrugs. “Just like when we were younger. Remember how you’d always tug on my arm and pout until I acknowledged you?”

“No, but it’s kinda weird that you remember it.” You finally cross your arms in front of your chest. “It’s also kinda weird that you want my attention when that’s what your girlfriend is there for.”

“It’s kinda weird that you keep up with my love life and know I have a girlfriend,” he fires back at you. “I’m breaking up with her, by the way. Just in case you wanted to know.”

You pause the petty war for a second. Min Yoongi is breaking up with his girlfriend because you accidentally sent him one (1) risqué pic of yourself? To be fair, you do look pretty hot in that photo. But still! You’ve known the guy your entire life, and all it’s ever amounted to was banter with a hint of feelings on your end. You’d always assumed Yoongi thought of you as nothing more than his little sister’s friend. Surely he’s just toying with you right now. Because that’s what fuckboys do. 

That’s what Min Yoongis do.

“Good to know,” you nod, the cold breeze coming back. You better leave now before you do something stupid again. Stupid AirDrop. “Well, I’m gonna go now. It’s fucking cold.”

You drop his phone into his palm, your fingers grazing his in the process. They’re so warm. But your fluffy blanket is warmer. And it’d never betray you.

“Thanks for only being a slight dick about the pic,” you say, scurrying off to your doorstep.

“Anytime,” he smirks. Asshole. “I’ll AirDrop you later.”

“I don’t want your dick pics, sir.”

You hear his laugh before closing the door.

A minute later, you get an AirDrop of what you hope is not in fact a dick pic. You accept it immediately.

It’s a blurry selfie of him on his bed, flipping you off with an emphasis on how much extra mattress space he has. That has to be the quickest breakup of all time. They don’t call him a fuckboy for nothing. You shouldn't feel this tempted.

He accompanies the pic with one simple text:

my issue is i have brainrot over my own au so sometimes i forget that canonically cfundy is not like ctommys weird little sibling nephew that he buys cereal for and takes to disneyland HAHAHG

it WOULD be awkward but even more bc i think it wouldnt be tommy getting worried about getting replaced but the other way around…. something something how cfundy always came second for cwil after ctommy. wheres that brilliant post someone made about cfundy being like a kid living in their older sibling’s shadow except the older sibling is the beautiful nation of lmanberg. and well l’manberg equates ctommy. which is part of the problem for fundy because it was his nation too but at the end of the day its not him that cwilbur told “to me, its you” to.

its also part of why cfundy and cwils parent/child relationship is so odd, since it was born out of a bit, and it was barely given the narrative significance an actual parental relationship would have had. cwilbur has his Moments about and with cfundy, especially in pogtopia, but they are so strongly related to lmanberg and tommy and his self image. i do think they have a very fleshed out and interesting dynamic but the parental aspect of it feels so disjointed or absent sometimes (apart from the ‘my champion’ or ‘my son’) especially age and maturity wise (theyre too close together on that front).

and don’t get me wrong thats not AT ALL me saying cwil shouldnt be considered cfundys dad on the OPPOSITE the fact that their relationship is so strained and struggles to be what it ‘should’ be is part of why its so interesting. cwilbur is cfundys dad but not really. his own son doesn’t come after a guy he found on the street and called his little brother. and yet theyre all somehow friends because of l’manberg even though theyve all tried to kill each other or kill themselves to get out of talking to each other (cfundy finale. god). awkward sure is one word for it

Summary: the bad batch but in a modern setting (duh).

Warning: talks about death and a bad car accident. I think there’s swearing (I forgot lmao) nothing bad happens but traumatic pasts are talked about.

A/N: Im so tired 😭 it’s 1:14 am at the moment. Anyway, I didn’t plan on making a series but I’ve kept you waiting far too long, bestie. THE ENDING IS INTENTIONAL. IM WORKING ON IT I SWEAR

“Echo, help me!” Omega says, bounding down the narrow hallway of the small apartment they were currently living in. She holds out a hair tie with a few stray strands of her blonde hair curling around the fabric.

Echo sighs, taking her hand in his good hand and leading her over to their raggedy couch littered with rips and mismatched pieces of cloth stitched to the creaky leather.

“Why didn’t you have Hunter do your hair? I don’t even have hair,” he sighs, gathering his sister’s wavy locks with his hands, careful so her hair wouldn’t get caught in his prosthetic.

“He’s sleeping. Still. He and Crosshair were trying to beat… what’s the game called? Gobbler’s Gate? I don’t know, but anyway, he and Cross pulled an all-nighter.” She never could remember that damn game her brothers were obsessed with beating.

“Baldur’s Gate,” Echo reminds her, sighing deeply. Hunter had to start making his deliveries soon, people needed their Doordash.

“Yeah, that!” Omega winces as Echo pulls her hair while tying off her ponytail.

“Sorry, kid.” He gives her shoulder a gentle squeeze with his left hand, his only real hand. “Come help me pick my hat.”

Omega gasps and whips around to face her big brother. “Really? I get to pick your hat today?”

“Yeah, why not? C’mon.” Echo takes her by the hand, always his left hand so he can feel her warm fingers clasping his own. They tiptoe through the hall, Echo’s footsteps muffled by the thick, fluffy slippers he wore, and towards the room he was given when he moved in with them. He’s a brother they didn’t know they had.

Jango got around, Rex had said when he introduced Echo to the batch. That’s what they called themselves, the “batch”. I raised him right, don’t worry, boys. Echo’s a good lad. He had gotten into a car accident not long after he and his twin, Fives, turned 21. Both sustained catastrophic injuries, Echo losing both legs around the knees, his right arm, and gaining severe burns on most of his remaining body. Fives on the other hand… he didn’t make it to the hospital.

Echo was slowly but surely growing back the hair he lost, yet he still finds comfort in wearing his beanies, whether it’s his tie-dyed one or the white one with yellow eyes on the fold, just like the creepy clown Omega had nightmares about.

“Which one for today?” Echo asks, gesturing to the assortment of beanies he keeps laid out on his dresser. He lowers himself onto his mattress with a low grunt. They couldn’t afford bed frames. Omega looks back at his pale blue hoodie, which Echo also has a colorful assortment of, and she selects the royal blue beanie, placing it on his growing follicles.

“That one’s perfect.” She steps back, admiring her work.

“Alright kid, what’s today’s objective? Park? Library? Bothering Wrecker at the mall?”

Omega looks down and furrows her brow as she thinks of what she and Echo should do. She looks up at him with thoughtful eyes. “Can we… visit Fives?”

Echo blinks in surprise and a smile tugs at his chapped lips. “I’d like that. I’d like that alot.”

They’re interrupted by Crosshair’s cursing from the room he shares with Tech. “Shit shit shit. Echo, what the hell? It’s almost 9!” He spits out over his shoulder as he rushes down the hall.

“I’m not in charge of your schedule, Cross! It’s not my fault you played Baldur’s Gate all night,” Echo stands and meets his fuming brother in the living room/kitchen. Crosshair’s trying to tie his shoes with shaky fingers. He’s never been late before, not once. His job was one of two stable jobs the batch had.

“Hey… calm down. They can’t fire you, you’re the reason the diner’s getting busy again.” Echo’s knees creak as he kneels down and puts a hand on his brother’s shoulder.

Crosshair sits back on his heels, tilting his head back with a sigh. “Y-yeah… nothing to worry about.” He looks back at Echo. “You good with spaghetti tonight?”

Echo hums in agreement as Crosshair gets back on his feet. “I’ll be back at 6.” Crosshair unhooks his keys from the rusty rack and leaves.

Omega comes out of Echo’s room wearing his black beanie. Echo groans, “Meg, that clashes with your outfit, I can’t be seen with you now.”

She giggles, pulling her soft teal cardigan around her body. Her white leggings were just begging to be stained. “Echo, I do believe you’ve said ‘black goes with everything’.”

He rolls his eyes, shaking his head fondly.

They ate, forced Hunter to awaken from his peaceful sleep, and walked Wrecker to his job at the nearby mall as a security guard. He only took up the job since they lived in a bad neighborhood and he got to tackle people for a living.

“Isn’t it funny that Wrecker’s kinda a cop and Tech sells illegal stuff on the black market?” Omega asked Echo after Wrecker jogged off to make it on time for his shift. The pair strolled towards the bus stop they used to get from Ord Mantell to Coruscant.

“Well…” Echo considered. “It’s a little funny.” Omega grins and clasps his hand tighter. They step into the little covered bench at the bus stop.

“So… how come you moved out of Rex’s house? I mean, he has a nice place and all.” Omega wasn’t with the family when Echo moved in. She’s never asked him about his life before the batch, not unless it was about Fives.

“I… Rex takes in a lot of our brothers. He wants the Fett family to… stay together, I guess. We were all marines or some type of soldier at one point, so we’re all similar. I didn’t… fit in with our other brothers, even if we’re all family. Rex introduced me to the batch and they said I was welcome to move in.” Echo gives her hand a squeeze. “They needed the rent money, too.”

Omega grins, squeezing his hand back.

The bus dropped them off a block away from the Coruscant City Cemetery, which was in a pretty decent neighborhood. Omega tugs the wired earbuds out of her ears, handing Echo back his phone. On bus rides, he always let her listen to her music, mostly to make sure she didn’t hear the things drunks always say to Echo.

“Who were you listening to this time, Meg?”

“Lana. I like her song Salvatore,” she says, slipping her hand right back into her brother’s larger one. Lana as in Lana Del Rey, one of Omega’s favorite singers.

They take their time strolling down the Coruscant streets, Echo pointing out his favorite spots occasionally. The wrought iron fence bordering the cemetery comes into view; large, shiny headstones poke out of the ground behind the iron gates.

Echo memorized the spot where he buried his twin, Section 5, row 5, 5 stones from the fifth tree. Of course Fives’ name wasn’t actually Fives, he just loved the number.

“Jango loved Fords… so he named Fives after ‘em.” The small headstone is just up ahead. Omega slowly walks up to it, kneeling a few inches away from the edge of the stone.

“Ford Fett… Echo, what’s your real name?” She asks, gently brushing her palm over the granite marker, stray pine needles blow away as she does so.

Echo pauses, keeping his distance from his sister and his brother’s grave. He slides his hands into his hoodie, shifting his weight. “Elliot.”

Omega hums in acknowledgement, bobbing her head. She says something under her breath to the headstone, Echo doesn’t bother asking her what she said. He keeps his gaze down to the dirt beneath Omega’s knees, a soft smile tugging at his lips.

We have a sister, Fives… oh, you would’ve loved her…

Aggressive meowing comes from the apartment as Echo and Omega walk up to the door. The pair exchanges glances. “Is that a cat?” Omega asks.

“I… I don’t even wanna know.” Echo sighs and opens the door to find an angry Tech and a gross looking cat staring up at him. The cat’s dusty brown coat is surprisingly shiny in the light.

“You cannot chew my socks. How many times have I told you this?” Tech spits out, jabbing a slender finger in the cat's direction.

“Are you having a full conversation with the cat? Also, why do we have a cat?” Echo asks. Omega smiles and kneels down beside the feline, new grass stains on the knees of her leggings catch Tech’s eye. He sighs.

“Wrecker brought him home when he returned from his shift. He’s out acquiring the needed supplies for keeping a cat. He named him Gonky. Who names a cat Gonky?”

“Wrecker, apparently.” Echo looks between his brother, the cat, and Omega, sighing and walking off to his room. He wasn’t sharing a room because his nightmares kept his former roommate - Hunter - awake. He can hear Gonky meowing at Tech, an occasional hiss when Tech refuses to give him a sock, along with Omega’s laughing.

I need help with the context of this coming from Someone who started this series a few weeks ago I’m super lost I don’t know if you answers this before and everything iv searched always confuses me so I’m asking

I need your help explaining something I don't understand did Vincent care about OCiel or only care about RCiel because I Read somewhere that Vincent or Francis I think called OCiel a "spare" when asked "who would inherit the manor the title"

I also heard that he had high regards for the RCiel instead of OCiel and is seen with RCiel more then OCiel it throws me off because people tell me he's a bad father to OCiel some tell me he's a good father to OCiel some have said he only cares for RCiel and it throws me off and no matter how many times I read the manga I always get confused |probably because I have a hard time comprehending stuff |

I did hear some stuff like that he apparently brought back gifts for OCiel after the boat trip they went on that apparently OCiel encouraged them to go on I also heard he took OCiel to learn about the duties of an Eral even tho he would not be one I also was told that he took OCiel to a party because he asked and Cooked OCiel and his wife food??? I also heard that he spent sometime with OCiel like playing “house” and something like that is that true?

I don’t know I can’t really tell the difference between the twins when they were young 😭 and it throws me I would really like a more simplified answer for this please and thank you |im asking this anonymously because I’m afraid of asking qeustions and don’t want to because I feel like I’ll be judge 😭|

Sorry that this took me a while to answer (I teach in college so that comes first) so I hope this answers your questions.

Okay this is very complicated, but I will try to cover this as best I can. So back when OCiel and RCiel were little, after RCiel had his butt handed to him by their Aunt Francis in a fencing lesson, and OCiel had been told by RCiel to go to their lesson, since RCiel needed to change, and, while walking down the hall this conversation was overheard. (Chapter 132 of the manga)

OCiel catches them talking about RCiel, and Francis is rather not happy with the fact that the future Watchdog is actually failing in protecting himself, and by that extension both her daughter Lizzie, her son, Edward, and his own brother should something happen when the kids are on their own as it were. RCiel can't fight, at all, and Francis is concerned about what will happen should RCiel not be able to fulfill his duties.

Francis is the one that calls him a spare, which, in the period isn't a bad word. It's what he is. Nobles and Royals tended to have more than one child should the other pass. Francis is the Spare to Vincent, since he inherited the title, thus, if she was single, she could likely have taken it over as her mother did.

Vincent seems to love his sons, both of them. As his words here indicate that, should something happen to RCiel, since he sucks at protecting himself -thus why Francis is teaching Lizzie, then OCiel will take over. Vincent is showing kindness. He's willing to give everything up, and step away from being a lord in order to protect OCiel. He's worried about him as he is like Rachel, not totally delicate but more easy to get ill.

And yes, when OCiel told them to go on the boat ride, even though he seemed reluctant to go himself, he did bring back a ton of flowers for his son. OCiel is shy about Dee, so he didn't run into the room when RCiel went in there to talk to see Dee (Diedrich) and Vincent. Vincent is looking over at OCiel, who his hiding behind a curtain, while also addressing RCiel in his lap.

He's rightly concerned about his son's illness. It should be noted that we don't see Vincent bring over the food to OCiel, but given we see later there's two of everything, and RCiel goes off to play chess with his brother, it's clear that he stopped by there first then brought the food over to Rachel in the cooking story. The thing is that Vincent knows OCiel won't back down in insisting the others have fun, and chooses to stay home. It shows, as Undertaker notes, that OCiel is different than the other Phantomhives. He's willing to risk his life and do things to make others happy. He thinks less of his comfort and more of others. It's something Vincent himself seems to notice too and encourages his younger son's dreams.

During the party he keeps his hand on OCiel's head, and let's him stay close to him. Showing he's protecting him and happy to have him there with him and RCiel. It's shown in a number of shots, and you can see where his hand and arm is during the different panels even though Yana was covering up the fact that there was twins.

Vincent has RCiel to the right side and talking to him in the moment, while OCiel is to the left side and shown. He's holding onto OCiel's hand while he's scared and nervous.

Even when OCiel is cowering behind his father you can see he's not letting go of his son's hand.

When he's talking to Chlaus, he only one arm hugs him because he's not letting go of that hand.

You can see a moment later he has his hand on OCiel's head and patting it after. That's the only time the hand is off of OCiel's hand. The hand stays on OCiel's head while RCiel get's picked up.

His left arm is extended and down, showing he's either back to holding OCiel's hand or still has his hand on his head and is smiling down at his younger son. Vincent was shown to be cooking with RCiel, and due to the way she was keeping the twins hidden, we haven't gotten to see Vincent playing with OCiel alone as of yet. But he read to his kids, and given his personality, clearly taught them chess and got him all the toys and gives them equal education.

So yes I do think that Vincent loved OCiel very much, I just don't think we've become privy to their moments due to the way yana was covering up the twins reveal and all that. No judging at all.
