 。・ * ✧  severus  hadn’t  spoken  to  lily  in  months  ,  though  not  a  second  went  by  where  he  didn’t  wish  he  had  ,  not  a  moment  went  by  where  he  wished  he  hadn’t  said  that  ,  and  not  a  day  went  by  where  his  heart  and  mind  didn’t  ache  from  how  he  was  to  blame  for  everything  changing  --  for  himself  changing  .  this  second  was  different  --  this  second  was  worse  .  his  breath  hitched  and  his  heart  both  dropped  and  sped  up  as  he  saw  her  alone  in  the  room  --  he  knew  he  was  early  to  class  ,  but  he  hadn’t  thought  he  was  this  early  .  his  mouth  hung  open  ,  all  the  words  he’d  tried  to  say  and  all  the  ones  he  hadn’t  so  hesitant  to  come  out  .  his  mind  raced  to  come  up  with  the  right  words  and  trying  to  work  out  all  the  possible  outcomes  of  each  --  though  he’d  realized  he  was  staring  before  he  could  .  severus  cleared  his  throat  and  looked  at  the  ground  as  he  slowly  shuffled  to  his  seat  .  he  looked  up  as  he  passed  lily  and  giving  her  the  slightest  wave  and  the  smallest  smile  as  he  did  ,  hoping  that  it  would  be  enough  for  now  .  though  ,  without  much  thought  and  much  to  his  surprise  ,  he’d  actually  began  to  speak  .  ❛  hello  ,  ❜  was  all  he’d  said  ,  and  he’d  said  it  so  faintly  and  yet  so  instinctively  .  he  mentally  slapped  himself  for  it  as  he  kept  walking  ,  though  he  moved  with  much  more  embarrassment  , though  just  as  slow  ,  as  he  had  before .  //  (  @inheritedfates  )
