Crepes? ------A quickly written good omens oneshot. The idea came to me whilst messaging an incredible friend of mine and we were discussing the promo picture released today.
Aziraphale as his new normal, was sitting in an armchair drinking a cup of tea with a book in his hands. It was a book he had read only once before and he had decided he simply must read it again as it was only fair to the book. Near him loitered his "assistant" If Aziraphale was been perfectly honest he was starting to get a bit bothered with all Gabriel's comments about the dust or the layout or something else. There were times when he simply pretended that it didn't bother him, there were times when he ignored it, and there were times when he wanted to shove him into a cupboard and lock him in for an hour but that was too cruel and he couldn't do that.
If he was to be truly honest with himself it was nice to have company, it wasn't Crowley's company but it kept him socialised and at least partly content he did miss the speeding Bentley driver but he wouldn't admit it out loud. Well, not now he wouldn't maybe in the future but not now when he had a kind of feeling that something important or special was to happen.
In the bookshop, music did tend to play but never much more than soft classical music. Until now, the music switched tone in an instant, and before it could be processed further Aziraphale's ears twitched at the ting of the bell as the door opened. In walked none other than Crowley. The very same Crowley who had been missing. By the time the demon of Crowley was recognised the music of Queen was also recognised.
"Crowley?" choked out Aziraphale in a partial shock to see him but a sense of he didn't want to appear too keen.
Crowley stepped forward adjusting his glasses slightly and a suspiciously wide smile across his face, " 'Tis me indeed, good to see you Azi-". Crowley froze mid-sentence. His eyes scanned the room and landed on Gabriel as if he was the prey of the snake inside him.
Crowley swallowed and spoke with a distinct scowl, "Aziraphale, what is he doing here?"
"He must be here, he could be in danger." The bowtie-wearing man explained tucking his bookmark into his book and standing in front of Gabriel.
Crowley stepped forward another few paces, he lightly placed his hand on Aziraphale's wrist and tugged a book down and the shelf swung abruptly to reveal a room.
"How the heaven did you know about that?" Aziraphale asked with a squeak as no one was supposed to know about this area.
Crowley laughed Aziraphale couldn't decide if this laugh made him more comfortable or more uncomfortable. "I guess one might call it luck."
Aziraphale smiled, it was a half-forced smile but still a smile, "Oh Aziraphale don't bother forcing smiles with me, Now will you please tell me what he is doing here?"
"I am protecting him until I can find out," Aziraphale said with the hope that some sort of confidence shined through his tone.
Crowley nodded, "Right and do you think we could leave him here for say two hours by himself?"
The angel's face had confusion painted across it, "I don't know why?"
"Because I wanted to take you out for crepes I know how much you love them." Crowley sighed, He thought he could sense a no slipping from the lips of Aziraphale.
Aziraphale smiled, "Oooo that is tempting and does sound delicious but only if there is somewhere we could go where we know where he is at all time."
"Sounds like a perfect plan." The angel grinned happy that Crowley remembered about his crepe loving and was willing to adapt for his visitor.
A visitor that might just be keeping an eye on him but was still to be treated with respect like any other guest.
Crowley's cheeks flushed a pink, well maybe they didn't Azirapahale was sure he imagined it "I will meet you both in the Bentley soon."
This was all very suspicious and exciting to Aziraphale, just how he had missed it.
Once they were all seated inside the car, Aziraphale took a deep breath preparing for the speed that was going to start any moment then. Crowley quickly glanced over to him and winked a sly wink. As usual, Queen was screaming through the speakers and the bolting down the road began.
"Are you sure I can't convince you to go ever slightly slower?" Aziraphale asked loudly over the music.
Crowley chuckled, "Me? Slower? Never."
"I annoyingly predicted that would be your answer." He said with an eye roll.
He uttered, "This demon is a demon who likes queen and speed."
Aziraphale turned to the back to see his guest's face stuck in a position of sheer panic.
When they arrived, or more when Crowley stopped the car Aziraphale was confused to discover they were at Crowley's flat.
"Right, your guest is going in my plant room to be supervised whilst we eat," Crowley informed.
Aziraphale nodded with a response of, "Ooohhh are we getting takeaway that's very fancy?"
Crowley just shook his head. Once inside the building and Gabriel their honoured guest had been shoved into the plant room Crowley lead the angel to his kitchen.
"Ooooohhh this is all very black, I think it's modern and in trend for the mortals," Azirpahale said with a laugh.
Crowley raised an eyebrow, " Do not compare me to a mortal."
"Sorry, did you purchase the crepes from a shop? That's very clever of you." The angel smiled.
The demon however shook his head again, "Stand there, look pretty and watch." he ordered.
Aziraphale froze as Crowley began spinning hectically around him collecting the most unusual of objects. Flour, Eggs, Milk and many more. What had not occurred to Aziraphale was that these were in fact the ingredients of how crepes were made.
Crowley started adding a little bit of everything into a bowl before whisking them together with a quick wave of his finger.
When the demon poured the mixture into a pan it occurred to Aziraphale that Crowley was, in fact, making him them from scratch. The angel grinned with honour before asking "Are you seriously making me crepes?"
"No, I am building you a boat. Of course, I am making you crepes." He said with a dumbfounded look on his face that was clearly intentional.
"How did you work out how?" The inquisitive angel inquired.
Crowley laughed "I was trying to make a potion but it made them instead, no silly I learnt how because I wanted to make you some."
The angel smiled, "Really?"
"Well I hope they live up to your standards." Crowley smiled.

Well, I am stopping here, I enjoyed writing it so far but I must stop as my laptop is running out of charge. Please let me know your thoughts and if I should continue it or not!!

Reunion (tbb ep.16 fix-it fic)
Pairing: Crosshair x Medic! Female Reader
Warning: tbb ep.16 spoilers, mentioned of killing people, inhibitor chip?, some kissing, grammar mistakes, typo (cause i didn’t proof read lol. im too tired to do that.)
A/N: anyway, i was so mad and sad about tbb finale, so i decided to write a fix-it fic. That doesn’t mean I hate the episode, this is just my version of story. im not really good at writing so...haha. that’s why im a gifmaker, also my main language is not English, so there would have some typos and grammar mistakes.
Word count: 1.6k
read on ao3
You and The Bad Batch were on the way to save Hunter. You knew this would be a trap, but you couldn’t help but think of a certain sniper, your lover.
You and the batch didn’t understand what had happened to him at first, his brother, your love. The way he called you and the batch traitor, the way he raised his gun to you, and the way he talked. This wasn’t him, this was not the crosshair you know.
Then, it turned out that the kaminoans had implanted inhibitor chips in every clone to make clones blindly follow orders, even killing the jedi.
“Good soldiers follow orders” This line kept echoing in your head after you heard Crosshair say it. This, this was not the crosshair you know.
***
“You and omega wait here” Echo told you and omega.
“No, we should stick together!” Omega protested.
You put a hand on Omega’s shoulder, trying to calm her.
“No, echo’s right” Wrecker agreed with him.
“Stay out of sight, if things go south we’ll send you a signal. Go back to the ship and contact Rex.” Echo added, looking at you and omega.
You gave him a nod and pulled Omega back to your side before watching them ascend to the training room.
You know how much Hunter meant to Omega, the way they interacted, and the way they cared for each other. You understood why the young girl looked up to him.
“Omega, I’m sure they’ll get Hunter back.” You reassured her.
“I know, and Crosshair.” She looked at you with her bright eyes.
You were a little shocked when she mentioned him. All this time, you tried so hard to suppress your feelings for him, your love for him. The batch knew that you missed him, they could tell. The way you stared into his empty bed, and the nights that you cried until you were too tired and the tears were dried.
“Yeah, and Crosshair…” You smiled sadly at the young girl.
***
When you and Omega joined the batch in the training room, you, Omega, and AZI stayed in one of the gun towers. That was when you saw him, your Crosshair. Hunter and he were tackling each other while Tech, Echo, and Wrecker were shooting the droids.
“I believe you may have activated a few too many droids.” AZI said to Omega and you.
“ We can see that, AZI.” Omega raised her bow, aiming for the nearest droid to Hunter and Crosshair. Meanwhile, you used your blaster to shoot some of the droids near the others.
***
After clearing out all the droids, you, Omega, and AZI joined the others on the ground. You walked closer to Crosshair and Hunter.
You could see that Crosshair was shocked to see you, the coldness in his eyes, mixing up with a tiny bit of shock.
The big scar on the right side of his head was horrifying, did the empire did this to him? Your heart almost broke into million pieces, seeing the love of your life like this.
“Crosshair…” Your voice almost sounded like a whisper.
For a moment, you see the real Crosshair, your Crosshair. But soon replaced by the coldness and aloofness.
“Crosshair, forget the empire. This isn’t you, it’s the inhibitor chip.” Hunter tried to talk some senses into him.
“Wrong.” Crosshair stared back at Hunter. “I had my chip removed a long time ago.” He added.
All of you looked shocked, Tech and Wrecker looked at each other, speechless. Hunter almost looked hurt.
“Since when?” Hunter asked.
“Does it matter?”
“Yes”
No. No. This is not Crosshair. The Crosshair you know would never do this.
“Cross, the empire lied about many things, what if they lied to you?” You asked, trying to hold back your tears.
“This is who I am.”
Crosshair tried to raise his rifle, but Hunter was faster. He stunned him before Crosshair’s attempt.
***
“Hunter, three Venators are descending on the city. We need to leave, now.” Tech stated.
“Wrecker, grab Crosshair. He’s coming with us.” Hunter grabbed Crosshair’s rifle and backpack, while you went to picked up Crosshair’s helmet.
You saw Omega gave Hunter a nod before walking away. Hunter caught you staring at him, so you gave a sad smile to him in return.
“He’s coming home with us.” Hunter said.
***
You and The Batch finally made it to Nala Se’s lab, Tech and Echo were currently trying to figure out a plan. After Crosshair and Hunter’s intense conversation, you saw him walking to the window and taking a seat to rest.
“AZI, come with me, I need your help on something.” You asked.
AZI followed you to Crosshair, you took a seat beside him.
“Crosshair…”
“What do you want?” He asked coldly.
“AZI is a medical droid, he can scan you to check if you still have the chip.”
“Indeed, I helped CT-5555 removed his and CT-5385’s chip according to my memory database.” AZI said.
“Fine.” Crosshair agreed reluctantly.
“CT-9904, this scan only takes a few seconds” AZI said before scanning Crosshair.
To be honest, you knew he still had the chip, you hoped he still had the chip. Cause there was no way, no way the Crosshair you knew would be like this.
“The scan is completed.” AZI said.
“So..?” You asked.
“CT-9904 still has his chip, the chip’s effect was weakened due to the injury from ion engine.” AZI answered.
You felt almost relieved?
The Batch heard it and rushed to you, “He still has...his chip?” Hunter asked, sounded a little guilty.
Echo, Tech, Omega, and Wrecker looked at each other, surprised by this unexpected news as well.
“That would be correct.”AZI replied.
“Could you remove it, AZI?” Omega asked, she wanted his brother back as much as any of you did.
“Yes. I’m capable of removing CT-9904’s inhibitor chip.”
“Do it.” Hunter said.
You stayed next to Crosshair while AZI removed his chip. The surgery was faster than you think, you hold Crosshair’s hand during the whole surgery, and you still holding it now.
“CT-9904’s chip has been removed. He should be awake in any minutes.” AZI stated.
You felt his hand pressing yours, “Crosshair?”
“I...I…”
“Hey, you’re okay now. We removed your chip.” You reassured him.
Crosshair looked away from you, his eyes filled with guilt, confusion, anger, sadness.
“Don’t you hate me?” He asked. “All those things I had done…”
Your hand reached out to stroke his face, “No. Never. I know it’s the chip, Cross. It’s not your fault.” You smiled at him. “I love you, always and forever.”
Crosshair put his hand on your face, wiping away the tears falling down your face. “ But I shot at you, I tried to kill you… I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry…”
“Shhh, I forgive you, Cross. All of it. I’m sorry we didn’t come to save you earlier…”
Crosshair sat up and pulled you into a hug, you melted into his touch, inhaling his scent. Your Crosshair was finally back to you, this is real. The sleepless night without him, the loneliness, the emptiness, the desperation, were all gone. Crosshair was back to you, alive.
“I love you too, cyare.” He said it back.
He pulled away a little so he could kiss you on the lips, his hand trailed to your nape, kissing you with force. You and Crosshair clung on to each other so hard, afraid you would lose each other again. That was when you heard Hunter cleared his throat, you two finally pulled away from each other.
“I know you two miss each other but this lab is about to collapse. and this is not very…” Hunter said and eyed Omega.
“Right, sorry about that.” You answered, then looked at Crosshair whose arm was still wrapped around you. “Cross.” You nudged him.
“Fine.” He gave up and retreated his arm.
“I see Crosshair still has his severe and unyielding personality.” Tech stated.
“This is called missing someone, Tech.” Crosshair said and pulled out one toothpick to throw it at him.
“Ha! He’s back!” Wrecker exclaimed and playfully punched Crosshair’s shoulder.
Crosshair pretended to show an annoyed face, but deep down you knew he missed his brothers.
“Listen, Crosshair. I’m sorry. We should have come for you earlier.” Hunter said. “I was trying to keep the rest of the squad safe, but you are one of us. I’m sorry.”
Crosshair didn’t say anything, just stood up and walk toward Hunter. For a moment you thought he was going to punch him, but instead, Crosshair extended his hand to Hunter.
Hunter looked at Crosshair’s hand then his eyes, he reached out his hand to shake Crosshair’s.
“We need to leave fast, the structure could not hold much longer.” AZI chimed in.
***
All of you finally made it to the platform, for once the Kamino is sunny.
Omega stared at the Tipoca City, which was all destroyed. “It’s… all gone.”
You looked at that direction, the place all clones called home was all gone. The Batch and you took a few seconds to process this, to accept the fact.
“We should leave before Empire’s scouts show up.” Tech said.
“You coming with us?” Wrecker asked, looking at Crosshair.
“Yeah.” Crosshair said and took out a toothpick, putting it into his mouth.
Hunter nodded at him before walking to the ship with the others.
You still stood next to Crosshair, “You ready?” you asked.
“Yeah.” He gave you a little smile then intertwined his hand with yours, leading you to the Marauder.
You didn’t know what the future would be, but one thing was sure. Crosshair would be right beside you, always and forever.

WOL Challenge #8: Apart
[Prompt List Here]
[Filled Prompts Here]
Heavensward, post-Vault
Aymeric visits a recuperating Haurchefant while their loves travel to Azys Lla
Rating: T for mild sex talk, references to Aymeric’s time in the Vault
Pairings: Haurchefant x Nerys, Aymeric x Estinien
Discussed Estinien x Haurchefant, Implied Aymeric x Nerys x Estinien, Haurchefant x Aymeric
"Thank you for coming." Count Edmont de Fortemps says as he personally escorts Aymeric through the manor. A development he hadn’t anticipated.
That could be said about much of the past week.
"I owe Lord Haurchefant a great deal," Aymeric replies with an incline of his head. "And not just recently. He has always been a good friend to me."
"I hear that often, especially of late." The Count's brow furrows with an emotion between pride and sorrow. "It seems my son is well-loved."
"He is." There are those who will never show favor to someone like Haurchefant–like Aymeric–but all else adore him. Despite his near-constant presence at Camp Dragonhead, the man made friends of the apple sellers of the Crozier; the scholars in the Church; every tavern owner in the city; and much more besides.
"Then he has surpassed my every hope." Lord Edmont looks him over. "And how are you faring, Lord Commander? I have not forgotten the state you were in days ago."
"On the mend, thanks to the chirurgeons you found." Loyal men sword to Lord Edmont and House Fortemps. Young Master Leveilleur had monitored the healing himself in the initial days. No one spoke aloud what they all thought: a traitor might slip in and finish the job.
Blessedly, his father hadn’t seen to that particular cruelty.
"Tell me, how is he?"
"...Better. But we are discovering that my son is not the best patient."
"Truly? I would not have guessed that."
"Oh he is good-natured to all. But he alternates between pushing himself too fast, too soon or falling into a quiet sulk when he cannot get his way. No doubt that whatever mood he is in, he will try to hide it the moment someone walks in."
"That sounds more like Haurchefant."
They reach the door--handsome oak with subtle unicorn carvings in the panels--and Lord Edmont steps back. "I will leave you to it, Lord Aymeric. Twill do him good to see you."
“Thank you.” He is surprised by the genial clasp of his shoulder. There has been much talk of the changes seen in the three sons of House Fortemps. But Aymeric thinks the patriarch has also changed–as if Nerys’ presence has given him permission at last to be more open with his affection.
He cannot put into words, how much he appreciates the fatherly gesture just then.
Haurchefant slumps in an armchair by the fire, clad in a finely woven red and gold dressing gown over a tan nightshirt that falls to his ankles. He sits tall at the sound of the door, wincing when the movement jostles his injuries. The wounded arm is in a sling, carefully obscured beneath the scarlet silk.
“Aymeric,” he says. “Father told me to expect you. Forgive me for not standing, I am under strict orders to remain in this chair.”
“If you did, I should be very cross with you.” Aymeric sits in the opposite chair, warming his legs by the roaring fireplace. “You know you don’t have to stand on ceremony with me.”
Haurchefant covers his mouth, wincing as a chuckle moves through him. “Was that a pun?”
“It wasn’t not a pun.” Aymeric grins. “I’m sorry, I see that laughing is painful for you right now.”
“Don’t you dare apologize, I haven’t laughed in days.” He adjusts in his chair, mild consternation creasing his brow as he seeks a comfortable pose. Aymeric has suffered enough battle wounds in the past to know the frustration well. At last, Haurchefant picks up a bell on his sidetable. “Tea? Food?”
“Tea sounds lovely. Are you hungry?”
“Oh it’s complicated, that question.” Haurchefant’s genuine smile turns into something artificial. “I am not hungry and not hungry and not hungry but then I eat something...suddenly I am ravenous. The body is truly strange when it ails.”
“I remember.” Aymeric motions to his right side. “I took a mercifully non-fatal wound here a few years ago and that was the very same experience.”
“And your wounds recently?” Haurchefant rings the bell and settles back against his chair. “How are you faring? You look better.”
“I am better. All that’s left are the usual aches and sores of the body healing.” And a few scars, but those would fade over time. It was more than he had hoped for in that dungeon–Don’t think on it. Ask about him. “You look much better, too.”
“Flatterer.” Haurchefant winks. “But come now, you can pay me a prettier compliment than that.”
A servant enters the room, waiting at attention once it’s clear no one is in distress or pain. Haurchefant requests tea (“plenty of cream and birch syrup on the side please”), finger sandwiches, and the famous petit fours. Éléonore refuses to divulge her secrets despite all of Aymeric’s attempts to wheedle them out of the Fortemps’ chef.
“A ravenous day then?”
“Not really, but! My dear friend has come calling and I would treat him to things he likes.”
“With or without the prettier compliments?”
“With, naturally. Else I will tell Gregor to summarily evict you from the premises.”
Aymeric gives a long-suffering sigh, the one that can only be learned from Estinien Wyrmblood. But he stands to take Haurchefant’s uninjured hand and raises it slow to his lips, maintaining deliberate eye contact.
Etiquette demands he kiss the air above it but they are old, dear friends. He presses his lips to the knuckles and murmurs, “To see your beautiful face, to see you on the mend...it does this heart much good.”
“...Pretty indeed.” Aymeric doesn’t think he has ever seen the other man blush before. He won’t point it out but instead treasure it, for as long as it lasts. “Serves me right to challenge an unapologetic charmer.”
“I’d believe that if I didn’t know you love being put in your place, in the right mode.” Aymeric resumes his seat. “Estinien told me as much.”
“Ah…” An even dreamier expression overtakes Haurchefant. He should have visited sooner, if he is this gifted at lifting his friend from despondency. “That was a night I shan’t forget. He said he would tell you, but I never knew if he actually did.”
“He did. We talk about most of our intrigues and it was no small thing, that one of us should spend a night with our oldest and dearest friend. I never thanked you, by the by. For watching over him when he fled with The Eye.”
“No thanks required.” Haurchefant says. “I only wish I might watch over him now. He and Nerys both.”
“...I feel the same.” Aymeric admits. The very subject he hoped to avoid, if that was even possible. “Though I am well aware that we must stay here, just as they must go.”
“Must they…?” Worry and sorrow are clear in Haurchefant and he is slower to mask these. Hopefully, because he feels safe to bare such emotions in this company. “Ah, I know they must. As I know they will prevail. But it goes against everything in me, to stand by while my heart is in danger.”
“Hear hear.” It does not become easier, watching Estinien leave for another mission. To love a warrior is to embrace the possibility of loss with every day. Estinien took the same chance when he fell for Aymeric. “I am proud of them.”
“As am I.” Haurchefant fidgets again. “My apologies Aymeric, I did not mean to be so dour with company.”
“If not with me, then who?” Aymeric shakes his head. “You understand why I lost my heart to that man. Orchestrated it, even.”
“Ha. I only saw two friends pining and saw fit to help...push them along, as it were. You lost your heart long before I got involved.”
“Fair. I always wondered…”
Two servants enter with the refreshments and it takes some engineering to put everything in easy reach. Haurchefant has to adjust his pose again, doing a near-perfect job of hiding any discomfort. He thanks them profusely for their concerns, saying he is feeling better than he has in days.
Once alone, they fall quiet as tea is sipped and sandwiches tried. Aymeric sets aside a plate of three petit fours with sugar violets. If not, they will disappear by the time he finishes the savory portion.
“You feel that much better?”
“In truth...I am exhausted. The act of getting up and washed and dressed alone left me feeling as begrimed as before.” Haurchefant sighs. “But I did not want them to feel like they had to wait around. In any case, what did you wonder?”
“Hm? Oh.” Aymeric sets down the delicate red and white cup. “Why you went to such lengths when it was clear you held a torch for Estinien.”
“That? That’s easy.” Haurchefant shrugs and immediately winces. He must have forgotten that gesture was off-limits. “My friends were in love and I wanted them to be happy.”
“You had no notion we would be what we are,” Aymeric presses with a vague gesture. “A couple with an open arrangement.”
“My reward was your joy. That Halone saw fit to give me an extra gift well…” Haurchefant smirks. “Proof that patience and self-sacrifice are holy in her eyes.”
“Such blasphemy.” Aymeric does his best not to laugh or smile.
“Not at all! Did not Menphina find love in the arms of both Halone and Oschon?”
“I beg of you, Haurche.” Aymeric shakes his head. “The Fury must love you for all she has done, but even her divine grace must have limits.”
“Ah but who are we to set limits upon anything? Her divine grace or the boundaries of our hearts?” Haurchefant grins. “I wish I had known that teasing you was medicine. Can you come again tomorrow?”
“If I can manage it, I’ll come every day.” Aymeric says, truthfully. “Until this is over.”
The mischievous glint in Haurchefant’s eye trades for a solemn mien. He sighs. “Pray that the Fury brings them home soon. Not just to save you from my teasing, but so we have them back safe and sound.”
“I will drink to that.” Aymeric lifts his teacup. “To their safe return, so we may fuss over them.”
“To their safe return,” Haurchefant echoes. “If I am still unable to move well, you may have to embrace them both in my stead.”
“Gladly.”
If only Haurchefant knew how near to the truth he was. Estinien will tease him for it later, the Lord Commander hugging Nerys. But as Aymeric had pressed his lover about particular fantasies involving the Warrior, it is only fair.
Though when they return, Aymeric will feel less passion and more utter relief. Would that he might keep all three of them safe in the Pillars from then onward.
“Oh, I know you would.” Haurchefant says, lowering his cup.
Aymeric remembers that look. An invitation to meet him in the evening for stargazing, the night of a meteor shower. Only, he had found Estinien there instead. Who also wondered where Haurchefant was.
Some poor boy–no doubt tipped outrageously well–appeared with a message that Haurchefant was detained and they were to enjoy themselves.
“Drink your tea, my lord.” Aymeric says.
“Yes, ser.”
Perhaps Haurchefant knows, after all.

Emerald Ascent
((Preparations, for the next fight.
Contains 5.4 spoilers for the Emerald Weapon part of the Weapon questline. Also contains Sorin ( @aetherstitch ) again! Also Maebh from @semper-miles .))
===
There was a knock on his door.
“Runya?”
“Oh, do come in, Sorin.” But Runya didn’t look up from the pages he had been writing on, even as the other Miqo’te came into his room. There was a series of footsteps from the man, and then he came to a halt right behind Runya.
“...Did you learn anything?” Sorin frowned. “From Maebh?”
Ah, yes. Maebh.
--
“Well, abomination, I was hoping you could answer some questions for me.” His smile remained a bit too fixed on his face, as did hers.
“Might get better answers if you stop calling me that.”
“Cheek. But we both know we need information on this VIIth Legion proper in order to be able to do anything about these Weapons of theirs. Or do anything about them for good, at any rate--I am perfectly capable of killing them as they come, at least for now.”
--
“Hmmm.”
But Sorin only waited a few seconds before sighing practically into his ear. “Runya, please answer.”
“Oh, alright. That thing running around in Angerona’s skin did seem to remember a few things, anyway...”
--
“--so I can’t tell you everything, but I can tell you some things.” Maebh grimaced, putting a hand to her head, but waving off that dragoon friend of hers--whose name Runya couldn’t be bothered to remember at the moment. “I’m fine. It’s fine. He’s right, we need to get all our information together before these things become an actual problem.”
“So? Do go on.” Runya leaned forward a little, despite the tension that earned out of the dragoon.
“That Legatus was...” She closed her eyes with a huff. “Merceus...definitely didn’t like him. At all.”
--
“--and I will tell you, Sorin, that it pleases me endlessly that my very existence appears to have made multiple Legatuses very angry.”
Sorin just sighed in resignation. “Yes, I know, Runya.” His voice, at least, was patient. “And I take it she knew at least some things about this ‘Valens’?”
“Some things, anyway.”
--
“--he was very attached to Magitek engineering,” Maebh continued, rubbing her temples. “He was also very attached to mass murder to accomplish ‘advances’ in it. It...made Merceus disgusted.”
Runya just made a disbelieving sort of sound in his throat, but Maebh’s head snapped up to stare him down.
“No, really. Valens was far, far more willing to just throw away anyone that displeased him, even if it meant setting himself and his research back entire years. Angerona got away with so much because Merceus wasn’t like that.”
Runya itched to snarl back at her, but she just put her head back down in her hands, the strain of remembering clearly getting to her--but not enough to make her stop.
“We--Angerona and them,” she added in haste, as his eyes narrowed, “were always getting into disputes with him. Merceus’ children, not much--they were outranked--but Merceus himself hated him. Said he was a spoiled brat who liked to demand more toys from Father when he kept breaking them. Said he...wasn’t worthy of the rank and he didn’t understand why the Emperor kept him around except as pest control.”
--
“--and the irony of a mass murderer calling another mass murderer worse does not escape me, mind you.”
Sorin raised his brows. “Well, yes, it hasn’t escaped me either. No one’s saying it wasn’t bad, Runya--not even her, if you’ve been telling this correctly. So go on?”
“Oh, you ruin all my spiteful fun.”
“Runya.”
“Very well, very well...”
--
“--he never let go of Baelsar allowing Merceus some lab space in Gyr Abania. He thought that he had a better way to recreating Allagan Weapons than Merceus did and he resented that Baelsar felt differently.”
“Mm, so they were both attempting to make giant superweapons.” Runya smiled. “Charming.”
“Yes, charming,” Maebh deadpanned as she lifted her head once more. “It...might be why both projects have the same name, actually.” A flicker of Angerona’s intellectual curiosity flickered across her expression--there and then so painfully quickly gone, in a way that made something in his chest twist. “They were both going for the same goal, just in different ways. Valens’ Legion just created them wholesale instead of growing them from...something they found near Azys Lla.”
When Runya silently raised an eyebrow, she just raised one right back at him.
“That is where they found Blue.”
--
“--which I suppose is useful information, given I had little idea. Blue still has many secrets even he isn’t aware of, it seems.”
“Hm...” Sorin’s tail audibly flicked, tapping against the back of his leg in the process. “But did she know anything more about the Weapons?”
“Mm, I’m getting there.”
--
“--All I can tell you is that this man is mad, he’s likely very angry that ‘just’ a test subject from his rival’s Legion has been outperforming his prized pilots and his technology, and he isn’t going to stop unless someone kills him. And the region the VIIth controls is too large to really pin down where he could be,” she added, right as he was about to ask the question. “Or I would have just told you that right away and let you have him.”
“And you’ve heard what the Ironworks has discovered of them so far?”
Maebh’s brow knitted a little. “Yes, I have. My...contacts have been telling me.”
“So Sorin’s been telling you.”
But Maebh waved a hand. “Him and someone else. But knowing how this ‘Oversoul’ works...worries me. If they can fetch data from any Legatus’ armor...I can’t say they don’t have Merceus’. I can’t say they don’t have Zenos’, given he wore something that at least looks similar, and that’s even worse.”
He would have been tempted to argue the point, but that thought even gave him pause. (Zenos, after all, had been the one to almost kill not just Vira but Sorin, too. And the man seemed frustratingly difficult to actually put down for good, if even dear Daeyona and Ambarone combined hadn’t been able to manage it.)
“So we fully anticipate some fun until we can ferret the little rat out of his lair. Excellent. But what of Baelsar?”
Maebh was quiet, now.
--
“--And she never did give me a good answer for that one.” Runya shrugged. “She just said that he seemed to be on our side, but that he is indeed a Legatus, and that anyone that deep into the Empire’s imperialism wasn’t likely to renounce it all so quickly. And that even if he actually fully turns on them because of what they did to someone close to him, that he should not be considered trustworthy or redeemed or any such nonsense.”
He turned his head and now Sorin was just...looking at him a bit oddly for the remark. “What?”
“I...nothing,” Sorin sighed. “I was hoping she might have insight into that as well, but apparently not. None of us knows if we can trust him, either. Some of the things he says...” He didn’t finish the remark, but its point was clear enough that Runya just nodded.
“Mmm, I know. Do coeurls ever change their spots?”
But before Sorin could respond, he jolted and touched a finger to his ear--or, rather, the linkpearl in it. And after a few seconds of hurried conversation, he finally spoke to Runya himself. “They think they’ve found where the Emerald Weapon might be.”
Runya’s ears shot practically upright at that, and he grinned. “Oh, we’ve found the next one? Already? That was swift indeed.”
“There are a couple of locations,” Sorin went on, “and the G-Warrior still isn’t ready yet. It took too much damage in the last battle.”
“Because of your insistence on shielding Blue and I from the Sapphire Weapon’s attacks, no doubt.”
But Sorin didn’t dignify that jab with a response. “So we’re going to have to split up to find it, but we’re going to have to be fast. It could escape quickly from either location through the sea, and if we lose it we’re not going to find it again in a hurry.”
Runya practically sprang upright, though it made his joints creak in protest. His grin, however, didn’t recede an ilm.
“So what are we waiting for, dear Sorin? Let’s go Weapon-hunting.”
#; writing#5.4 spoilers#spoilers#; Of Gold Eyes and Green (Sorin)#no i am not terribly looking forward to having to fix this arc's REALLY garbo writing#but fuck it i'm gonna take a crack at it anyway#even if i only wind up able to make runya be the voice of reason through the whole thing#...'runya is the voice of reason' should probably tell y'all what i think of werlyt's writing lmao

🌼Good morning everyone and a happy Tuesday to you all! I had a lot of people ask me about my Outertale on Discord. That beat out pretty much all the other options on the poll so here we go! This is one of the larger ones because I had a lot of fun putting some of my favorite sci-fi concepts into this. I am a huge SG1 fan so you can definitely see that reflected. I admittedly am the fantasy genre girl so any ideas are welcome! I just liked the idea that the monsters in this were more than just typical monsters. DO NOT REPOST MY WORK WITHOUT MY PERMISSION IT IS NOT FOR YOUR USE. IF YOU LIKE MY WORK PLEASE REBLOG INSTEAD! It helps me so much! It makes such a difference.💙If you want more of these just let me know! It’s the only way I can gauge interest! Outertale Alternate “Nicknames” Info: Sans: Nova- Nova is the trickster though he is mostly associated with that of Loki. Loki is described specifically as “Playful, malicious ( ok maybe not that one), helpful, and nihilistic.” He helps others in a kind of goofy over the top way. He just doesn’t take much seriously. Nova is one of the youngest. He acts very childish at times coming to question how long he has been among the pantheon. Some argue his many centuries gave him a nihilistic outlook on life or that he is too young to understand the true ways of the world. Not to say that Nova can’t be serious but he is pretty laid back. It’s one of the reasons unlike the others he doesn’t really keep his cultural ties in his design. He should have more Norse in it but nah… varsity jackets are cozy right? I mean he is wearing star shorts for star’s sake. When asked about his job he mentions, “Hey, there kiddo. Nice of ya to drop by. Been up to? Heh well got a “new” job which is pretty cool. Not as cool as Pollux but I help arrange stars. Ya know, like the ones you see in the sky you can make pictures out of? I think you humans call em… constellations. One time I made this giant whoopee cushion one. Then I lost ma job. Got a second chance though. Andromeda’s constantly watchin me. hehe no harm done though.” Both Pollux and Nova refer to each other as brothers but it is unclear if they are biologically related. Their abilities and strengths are nearly opposite and their mythos even more so. Papyrus: Pollux- The presumed older brother of Nova. Pollux is associated with Egyptology specifically wisdom. Pollux tends to be the opposite of Nova in that he takes his job very seriously. Once on earth, he was known as Thoth gracing humanity with a mechanical and architectural knowledge that astounded the world. His mind and intellect put him at the forefront of innovation making him one of Capricorn’s best and most trusted advisors. He enjoys testing the mental prowess of others using puzzles and riddles of his own design. Unlike canon Pap, Pollux cares more about balance in life. Something his younger brother seems to lack. Not all work and not all play. He is kind, helpful, and willing to give advice to anyone that is looking for it. To the little human Frisk, he is a good mentor and teacher. (Pollux has made it his pastime to create a series of challenges to prove a humans worth. If they pass then they are able to speak/ see them. No one has managed to prove themselves.) Undyne: Andromeda- Andromeda is not different from canon Undyne as she embodies the Mayan mythology. She is most closely associated with the feathered serpent Quetzalcóatl. A deity of wind and rain. Also known as life-giver. Though Andromeda tends to harken back to her more aggressive roots she has a deep respect for the King and acts as his guard. Just like Pollux she too acts as an advisor, though more on matters of security than strategy or mechanics. Such a position is where she first met Elara and to this day the two are inseparable sharing their very different cultures. Her favorite kind of anime to watch are mech-based. Alphys: Elara- Very similar to canon Alphys just as this version of Undyne is. Alphys is based on Sukuna-Biko-Na (少名毘古那) or the Shinto god of medicine and rain. Elara is still very much a scientist and one that has a unique fascination with living things. Everything from the planets, to humans, animals, and plant life. She particularly enjoys spending time in her private greenhouse creating and taking care of all of the plant life. Before the monsters were forced to leave their place among the humans she was able to collect all the DNA of the plants and animals on the planet. They are stored in a kind of ark in which to preserve them if anything threatens their existence. Elara is very traditional in her work as her medicines are derived from her magic as well as herbal substances. She is very curious however as she is not allowed to interact with the progress of humanity but rather watches from afar. This is where her love of anime takes hold. Her favorites are ones like Sailor Moon or any type of magical girl anime. She will sit with Andromeda and watch them for hours. Her demeanor is very shy at first but once she opens up she will be a friend for life. Asgore: Capricorn- The head of the cosmic pantheon he is the King as he is in the original. He is associated with Celtic mythos though he has taken on many pantheon roles in his lifetime. Ambisagrus, a god of thunder and lightning, Ancestor God, Sky God, God of Wind, Rain & Hail is what he is based on. One such role is that of Zeus whose main symbol is that of lightning and thunder. Just like the Zeus of mythology Capricorn is constantly debating his involvement with humanity. Whether that be to stop their technological advances or aiding in their lives. A large portion of his time was spent with his subjects not so much his wife Aurora who is the jealous type. Capricorn is not a ruthless leader but he does know that sometimes hard decisions must be made. Just like UT Asgore, he is kind and benevolent, however, he has a temper if you make him angry enough. His magical abilities lean more toward lighting then fire but he has that ability as well. He tasked Elara to watch over human development should a problem arise. Toriel: Aurora- The Queen to Capricorn she is known to be easily jealous. It would explain why Zeus wife Hera also shares these traits. Her Gaelic deity tie is that of Arianrhod a goddess of the moon and stars. She creates life from the stars she creates sometimes causing them to take a form of their own. They are almost like living constellations. Some say that the Queen made such life to combat her own loneliness which her Son and Husband spent time away. In addition to the stars, she is also known for being a loving mother and caregiver. In her time on earth, she used to watch over and protect children and their families. Aurora though previously jealous of her simple in the universe has come to accept and embrace it. She is kind but rather overprotective. Anyone that forsakes life will feel her wrath. Muffet: Umbra- Umbra is associated with Hindu mythology as a goddess of wealth and prosperity. Though earthly riches do not concern Umbra she still has a taste for the fine silks and gold that she once had on earth. A little about the goddess that she represents: Lakshmi’s name comes from the Sanskrit word laksya, meaning an aim or goal. She is the goddess of wealth and prosperity, both material and spiritual. Unlike UT Muffet, Umbra also focuses on spiritual wealth. Peace of mind. She is ever the optimist even when things do not turn out to go her way. In times of need, she is called those in the struggles of self-worth trying to bring them into a different understanding. There have been many a time when Umbra calms Capricorns quick and rash judgments, much to Aurora’s displeasure. Just as with the rest of the pantheon she is kind and helpful even with her yearning to return to the people she so loved before they were forced to the outskirts of the galaxy. Grillby: Helio- Helio derived from the sun is my OT Grillby. He out of all the characters could care less about either being a deity or an observer. He is known to be at a middle ground. He would rather live his days running a social establishment but during his time on earth, he was known for his magic. Originally he was the right hand of Capricorn being depicted as a war deity for his fiery nature. He was the general of grand armies. His armor is something he hung up long ago but if called into court he will wear it once again. Its design is very reminiscent of Roman centurions. Though depictions of him are curious since his name back then was referred to as Merlin. He was best known for his magic and alchemy and the concoctions he made during a period of time far lacking in imagination. Just like Nova, Helio tended to interfere far too often in the affairs of man though noble in purpose. He tends to be outcast among the pantheon for his past conduct but he is content in his lab mixing crazy concoctions. Everything from love potions to disguises. His forte is all about alchemy and magic. Asriel: Azicree (Azi)- Azicree or Azi for short is the Crown Prince. By monster standards Azi is still very young, however, he has lived for far longer than any human can fathom. His mother used to shelter him until he begged for his father to let him prove himself. He still acts like a child always curious and desiring some form of exploration. Much to Capricorns dismay Azi enjoys spending time with Nova and the two become pranksters in general. He tends to not do as he is told, which is why they are in this mess in the first place. His reckless behavior had him appearing to a human that begged for his salvation. The matters of life and death are ones that are not to be messed with. Those that do find their souls being tainted for all eternity turning them into something other than just a monster. 9X is an example of such tampering. Azi does learn his lesson and begins to try and shape up to be a worthy successor to his father if such a thing ever did come to pass. He studies off of all those he knows especially Pollux who is more than happy to share such knowledge. His associations are nonexistent since he was born after the times of gods. His abilities seem to be mimic based. He is able to learn about abilities and use them at will. It is rare that monsters have children and as such Azi is the little prodigy child even though there are many times he just wants to be a kid. He makes friends with Frisk very quickly and learns a lot from the human visitor. Gaster: 9X (I can’t even)- 9x (can be pronounced NYX or Nine-X) is the Gaster of this universe. He is Capricorns pantheon counterpart. In essence the Hades to his Zeus. He is the monster that everyone thinks about when darkness takes hold. He is the one that associates with apocalyptic events such as Ragnarok. He is however not evil by any stretch of the imagination. He would be better suited to be called a god of chaos. He tends to reject the laws placed upon the rest of the pantheon regardless of repercussions. It’s speculated that both Pollux and Nova were a part of him and crafted into the monsters that are known today. Nova being his more devious side which Pollux is more his intellect and drive. He has been locked away for a very long time in a prison aptly named Tartarus. His abilities are space and time-oriented very similar to Nova which makes him difficult to imprison. He, of course, has been in his cell for quite some time and it is unclear if he actually has had a change of heart or using it as a manipulation tactic. The only one he speaks with on occasion is Azi wanting to learn more about this planet they all used to call home. It is information that the others tend to not speak of. His father more so as he is afraid it will instill a yearning in his son. 9X’s genius is on par with his godly abilities such as creating artificial intelligence. Something that is not considered life. He uses Azi as a template for this new program… FLOWEY- F- Friendly L- Life-like O- Operating system W- With E- Earthbound Y- Yearning F.L.O.W.E.Y was created by 9x and Nova with Azi as a template. He is a charismatic AI who was originally created as a helper as well as to teach the Prince about their planet of origin. Unfortunately, Flowey does not have the same reservations about disobeying his father as Azi does. Even going so far as to integrate with key and vital systems in The Capital. Flowey is not evil he just is driven to be the best help he can without regards to any type of consequences. He also feels abandoned by Nova as he was not only his creator but also his closest friend. It was why he was made. To be a companion and friend. He helps Frisk meet and learns more about their existence. He acts like a companion. However, when Frisk becomes friends with Azi Flowey’s AI goes haywire. He begins to feel emotions he is not technically allowed to such as jealousy. This causes him to try and eliminate those threatening him which in this case would be all the monsters. Eventually, Azi attempts to program himself into the interface changing its initial programming. Some of Flowey’s previous versions: Blookie: Nebula Riverperson: Omni Gerson: Quasar The Ursas: Ursa Major/Minor Greater Dog/ Lesser Dog: Canis Major/Minor Character Origin/Mythos: Sans- Norse (Trickster)
Papyrus- Egyptian Undyne- Mayan Alphys- Japanese (shinto) Asgore- Celtic Toriel- Celtic Muffet- Hindu
Grillby- Medieval (Merlin) Asriel- Celtic through lineage Gaster- Greek/Roman Blookie- Western Guard dogs- Constellations (Native American) Riverperson- Greek (Charon) Gerson- Chinese (Divination/ wisdom) Background and Context: A long time ago there lived beings of great power. They could bend space and time with a simple thought and bring life to their creations. These were the gods. Ones of great benevolence but also great and terrifying power. Humanity, a primitive race just starting to understand life itself, became their focus. At first, their interaction was very rare only occasionally appearing to help but as time went on those interactions became more drastic. Their assistance and knowledge were seen as godlike to these humans. They would bring gifts and offerings to their new deities in hopes that they would look favorably upon them. That they would impart their wisdom and magic if they were pleased. In time this became more and more of a tradition. A religion built upon pleasing these deities so that their lives would be far improved but this became a conundrum for the beings. Some remained benevolent and helpful while others become greedy and wrathful. The power began to go to their minds corrupting their souls. These instances were written down in variation by the humans making up grandiose stories of fiery chariots and jealous gods. Thus mythology came into being for humanity. A way to explain the things in which they did not understand. As with each religion and deity, the monsters each became associated with a specific culture or mythos. Some being pinnacles of their pantheon and others being lesser deities molded to suit a specific task. These monsters rarely interacted with ones of their own kind but as power shifted some of them took on roles of others. One monster could have been the god of war in Greek mythos but end up also as the god of thunder in Norse. There were no limitations to their influence. One such “deity” was that of the trickster. A monster that tended to be rather childish in his ambitions jumping from pantheon to pantheon looking to lighten up his other “deities” stern demeanors. The monsters began to pull away leaving their presences in name only and occasional help but this was short-lived. It caused problems, war, destruction, and feuding powers sadly began to use their civilizations as almost pawns. Their meddling almost destroyed that which they wanted to originally protect. Absolute power corrupts absolutely. The “gods” faded from existence only being remembered in myths and legends. The great prophecy of the Norse. The architectural marvels of the Egyptians. Now they reside in the furthest reaches of the galaxy. They spread out among the stars but a group of them resided in a Capital of sorts. A station at the edge of the Universe. One which no human could ever reach. The Humans Impressions: When the monsters left the humans to their own devices they worship continued long after. Eventually the magic and the miracles that had once been performed faded into history. The monsters were all but forgotten unless mentioned in mythology or scary stories. The humans never harbored any animosity toward them since they no longer believed in their existence in any form. They only understand what their ancestors depicted them as. The monsters as well don’t really have anything against humans either. All in all, they just go about their jobs and enjoy the universe, helping from time to time discreetly if need be but never showing their faces. Main Plot Synop: The plot to Outertale is very simple as it is more based around the world than it is the actual plot. It is very similar to that of the regular UT timeline with some notable differences. Once the humans reach an age of technological advancement they begin to spread out and search the stars. Some of them encounter monsters which they mistake for aliens (hilarious enough. I mean Jerry looks like an alien.) They begin to build colonies living more and more outside the reach of their own galaxy. Humans, however, tend to turn on their own creating factions within the space colonies. Some more prosperous than others. Frisk’s colony was one such beast being cut off from the other colonies as a drifter. Unfortunately, Frisk’s family was nearly non-existent and being stuck on a space colony was little to be desired. After seeing a streak of fire slamming into the outskirts of the colony. Frisk decides to investigate. They have always been the curious type disobeying orders and questioning everything. The colonies outer and more dangerous regions became their playground finding old pieces of technology. Eventually, they stumble upon a crashed ship. One that It seems too damaged to be used but it’s nothing like they have ever seen before. Everyone else on the colony considers it to be cursed. The strange runic language is confusing but Frisk finds that there is one lone computer onboard that seems to still function. It flickers with a bright yellow light showing an almost pixelated Flower with a =) face on the screen. Over the next few days, Frisk returns to decipher the runes with the help of their new friend which they find out is called Flowey. It is a project that the curious human enjoys and for once it is nice to have a friend. Eventually, the runes are deciphered claiming some sort of teleportation capability. Once Frisk is close enough the system fires up on its own sending the human straight to the monster Capital on the farthest reaches of the universe. A place that no human has ever been. The rest of the story is an exploration of this new environment. Frisk befriends the monsters who don’t attack first. They actually mostly want to engage with the human showing off their ability a little bit. A part of them misses the previous worship. Nova seems to take a particular interest in this new human especially when they befriend Azi. They work to help shut Flowey down only for Azi to impart his knowledge on the interface helping it understand. Frisk has nothing to return to so they stay with the monster and become Azi’s human tutor so that one day maybe the monsters can return and live side by side the humans once again. Both Azi and Frisk are almost like siblings coined the star children.

a/n: i’m so sorry for taking this long to post a new chapter of poh. you guys know what happened, but still, i’m sorry.
this chapter I dedicated to thane’s bottom squishes... well, I guess mile would appreciate the dedication as well XD *I kind of got dared by him to do that XD*
The taxi came and you were forced to enter it despite not wanting to go to the hospital. Frisk decided to come with you and Grillby, letting you hold onto her while she herself clutched at your back. You didn't mind having her close, your fists on her hoodie proof enough that you needed her presence next to you.
You had waited in the waiting room for an undistinguishable amount of time. Grillby had put himself to be in charge of getting you seen by a doctor, having all of your medical records and being your boss. You just wanted to go home, your head pounded and your bile left a vile taste in your mouth and you wanted to drink something to rid you of it. And since you weren’t getting up, someone had to get it for you.
But not Frisk, she had to stay here.
She held you closer and you moved your hand to hold hers. You probably looked silly, like a big baby. You felt like such a failure. Like some idiot.
"Chara… you're not a idiot… it's okay…"
Did you say that out loud?
"No. Just… had a guess."
You snorted. That's so like Frisk. You inhaled deeply, her hair tickling your nose. She rested her head on yours, her breathing growing deeper. She was falling sleep.
"…Shouldn't you go to sleep at Grillbz'?"
"Comfortable…"
"Chara!"
Mom?
You forced your head up and slowly raised your eyes, startling when your mother sat down next down, pulling off her sunglasses and folding her umbrella. She was so big and different to the woman in your memory.
Your mother was pale, so pale and so tall.
Your biological mother was much darker… and shorter. Your child-self saw her as much bigger than she probably was.
"Mom…" You muttered, feeling as if you were rising from a very heavy liquid keeping you down. You were seized by your mother and tucked into her arms.
You relaxed and clutched onto her pink blouse.
"My child. My baby. I heard what happened? Are you okay? How are you feeling?" She took a deep breath and shifted a bit. "Thank you for looking out for him, Frisk."
"No need… was worried…" Frisk squeezed your hand. "Is Chara alright?"
"…I hope so… I would need to hear what happened from him. Chara, my baby, do you feel well enough to tell me?"
You shook your head. You could barely think, much less discuss your memories and interrogate your mother about your early life. You wanted to. You had a hunch that she knew something.
But that could wait.
No time. Dodge back or dive in.
Fatal.
Dive to the right. Pierced from the left. Roll on the floor.
Strangely no pain.
Adrenaline perhaps.
Seize knife. It's broken.
No matter.
Slash.
A loud thud.
"And Player had bested their opponent against all odds!"
Blood.
So much blood.
Pain exploding in side.
"Not good enough, Player."
"Chara?"
You were snapped out of the vision and groaned and your stomach rolled, too empty to bring anything up so you only tasted burning spit that you forcibly swallowed. You were humiliated enough to throw up again.
"Yes?" You managed to murmur, head killing you.
You were fighting someone again.
Did you forget your past because you fought a lot of people?
But you were known for your blood thirst and your urge to fight. So why in the past you weren't? It seemed forced. Like you were putting up a show.
A deadly one.
And who was that Void guy? He seemed like your boss or something… the reason you were fighting?
"The nurse is here to take your vitals." Mom rubbed your back. "Can you get up for me?"
You took a moment but nodded, pushing yourself from her soothing embrace and slowly stood up, holding your head and clutching onto Grillby's hand when you stumbled, using it as a crutch as you went into the nurse room.
Your vitals were a bit off, but not fatal. 112/72. Pulse 86. A bit off than usual, but probably due to the adrenaline and panic. Oxygen levels 99. Normal. Your temperature was also normal – 36.4 C. A bit low than what you thought that it would be, but it's probably from the AC going strongly in the waiting room.
So nothing from this, huh? You weren't sick with a virus or something. A concussion? But you didn't hit your head.
It has to do with your visions.
In the meanwhile, you were given a warm herbal tea and was told to wait to the doctor, so back to the waiting room.
Frisk's hand was back in yours. She was covering herself in her hoodie again. You figured that uncovering her eyes in public places other than the diner would have to use some work. You rubbed the back of her palm with your thumb. She covered your hand with her other palm, raising the bunched hands to her chest when she rested her chin on them. You felt the tips of your ears burning a bit and you pushed back an urge to glare at your mother when you heard her soft sniggering.
At least it distracted you a bit.
After a while, you heard your mother asked Grillby what the time was.
"I… don't know…" Then you saw Grillby look around and point at the wall.
Your mother looked up. "Oh. I’m glad that they have something to tell the time now. Last time I have been here, they had nothing so only because my… ex-husband had his watch on him that we knew what the time was.”
"…Important why?"
"I'm just a bit worried so I'm rambling, excuse me," Your mother sounded flustered. It was quiet for a short while and then she begun again, unable probably to handle the silence. "I remember when Asriel was sick and Chara was confused as to why his little brother was so red and wouldn't leave the bed. He actually thought he was dying or something," She chuckled sheepishly.
"Stupid Azy, get up already."
Poke forehead. Warm. Too warm. Bad.
"Get up. You need to cool off."
"Mmm…." A hand swatting yours. You grumble and flick the pale blonde hair. A sneeze. "'ve me alone, asshole…"
"Mom doesn't like swearing, Stupid Azy."
A muffled curse. "don' care! You are worse!"
"If I'm worse, you needed to be out of this bed like yesterday." Taunt. Stop the bad feeling. Need to cool Asriel.
Something was wrong with Asriel.
"Sick, Chara… 'm allowed…"
Sick?
"Are you dying or something?"
"Yes."
Panic. Grab him. Run to mom. Save him.
"Chara! My bed!"
"Saving you, stupid Azy!"
"I'm sick! Not dead! MOM!"
"Never been sick before?" Frisk asked in confusion while you were beet red from embarrassment.
Mom shook her head amusingly, eyes faraway. "He had gotten sick once or twice, but he was quite oblivious to a lot of things when we adopted him. He didn't even know what a house was."
Tall. Square.
Stone.
Glass?
Wooden door.
Tilt head. Confusion.
"That's our house, Chara!"
Look at small child. Blink.
"…Hou…se?"
Frantic nodding.
Too much movement.
Smack.
"Ow! Don't hit me, Chara!"
"…don't… move… so much."
"Kids."
"Chara is hitting me!"
"Chara, don't hit your brother."
Confusion. Small child doesn't mind.
Return gaze to the stone square… house?
"Mom, I am not an idiot or something…" You grumbled, wanting to stand up and leave the place. Your mother was worse than your brother when it came to humiliating you in public.
Frisk snorted and you finally looked up to glare at her. Her covered face didn't show her eyes from your position but her mouth was curled slightly up. You freed your hand from her hold and flicked her nose. She jolted and held her nose, looking at you.
"You are oblivious to a lot of things as well, so not that much better than me." Frisk scowled and swatted your hand.
"Chara Rovias!" Your name was called and you stood up, feeling a bit better than before and much more coherent as you entered the clinic with Grillby and found the nurse from before. She showed you to a room where a middle-aged woman in doctor garbs was preparing the towel paper over the bed.
"Are you Chara Rovias?" She asked sternly, a heavy Russian accent in her voice. You nodded and sat on the bed as requested. She looked over a clipboard with several papers. "You do have a history of sudden headaches and dizziness, which your amnesia was apparently the cause. You went to a psychologist for close to eight years, I see. A few quick questions."
She took out a triangle head flashlight and asked you to stare at the light as she shined it into your right eye. You obeyed and moments later she switched to your left. She hummed and withdrew after a moment. "Did you see any memories that you don't recall?"
You nodded. She took out her statoscope and asked you to breathe deeply as she pressed the cold metal to your chest and back.
"Are they always followed with headaches?" A nod. “Black spots in vision?” A shake of the head. “Dizziness?” A nod but then a shake. "Nausea?" A shake of the head.
"Did they happen on the side?"
"Only the dizziness and nausea... It happened only lately."
"Meaning your reaction to the memories are getting worse?"
A nod. She nodded back and wrote something on her clipboard and sat on her chair, circling to face her computer, one leg over the other. She then begun to type, her long polished pink nails clicking the buttons loudly.
You felt as if each click pierced your head.
"I am going to send you to a neurologist. In the meanwhile, I would recommend you to see a psychiatrist or to go back to your psychologist. I'm not an expert, but you might show those symptoms to your memory finally returning because of a trauma involving your loss of memory."
She clicked on her mouse and bend down to the printer and after a moment of loud noise from the machine, she procured a few papers and gave them to the silently standing redhead. "Make sure he's not stressed too much and monitor him. It could get worse as he remembers more."
"Thank… you…" Grillby nodded.
She returned to the computer, ignoring his words and pointed to the door. "You will get released in the counter. Have a good day."
Having a bit of a whiplash, you exited the room and returned to the counter and a teenager grumbled as she printed your release papers. Apparently Grillby already paid for you so no holding back needed.
"Have a good day," She said in monotone, swirling her chair and saying something to the other secretaries. She got laughter in reply.
You were dragged back to the waiting room, where Frisk and your mother were talking to each other. Mom saw you and stood up, worried. "So, what did the doctor say?"
"Neurologist… and psychiatrist," Grillby answered.
Mom sighed. "I'll have to call Dr. Nil again."
"Can we go in the meanwhile? People are staring…" You grumbled, feeling a bit too exposed with so many people sitting around and probably were staring at you. Your shoulders hunched as you dragged Frisk out, trusting your mother and your boss to follow.
"How are you feeling?" Frisk asked once in the elevator, looking in concern at you.
"Better… but I really am getting tired of those stupid headaches and visions."
"…Tell me what you see?"
You looked at her then at the floor, resting your head on the cool metal for a moment before the elevator dinged and you exited, heading to the exit of the building. You planned on waiting there for your mother and boss since you had no idea how your mother arrived. You might need to take a taxi home.
You wondered if frisk would agree to stay over.
"Chara?"
"…I fought a lot… but I wasn't happy about it…" You said after a moment. She kept quiet, not wanting to cut your thoughts. You were thankful for it. "A guy was there… Void… he was training me? I think. He was never happy with anything I did. I was terrified of him."
"Hurt you?"
"Not out of training. My fights hurt me enough. There were other kids there and apparently one kid was sure I would protect him or something…"
"You protect me."
You snorted. "You don't need my protection."
Frisk shook her head. "You protected me… when I was sick and alone… you saved me several times."
You blushed. "You just want to make me feel like a man, aren't you?"
Frisk seemed to be confused at your remark. "You are a man."
You chuckled, shaking your head. "Of course. I meant a manly man. I lack the proper muscles and I am too thin to be strong. I am not a manly man, simply faster."
"…Super power," Frisk said after a heartbeat. You stared at her, lost. She snorted. "Father told me… about superheroes… was one who only had speed, but he was so fast… he could turn back time… maybe it is you?" She pulled back the hood, piercing eyes glowing golden in the street lights, the passing cars reflecting in them and creating a halo around her dark, dark hair.
You gazed at her, awed.
"Wrong?" She said after a moment, pursing her lips. You huffed, raising your fingers and brushing back her hair. She closed her eyes and nuzzled your hand, then interlaced her fingers with yours and lowered it so both hands were resting on the cool stone you were sitting on. "You're strong… I prefer you like that… I like you like that…"
You looked away, covering your face with your free hand, too flustered to answer. You heard snorting and Frisk scooted closer, resting against your side and hugging your arm. "Nice… warm…"
"Frisk, I swear to god if you don't stop I'll kick you," You interrupted her, not able to admit that her compliments were making you giddy. She chuckled and shrugged.
After a long moment of silence you calmed down and looked at Frisk again. "…Want to stay over the night? My house is closer."
Frisk considered it for a moment and then shrugged. "Sure."
"Awesome…" You mumbled lamely.
Maybe you'll get to see Frisk in nightwear?
You slapped your forehead.
Frisk snorted.
"I hate you."
Snorting.
Where were Mom and Grillby?
You barely noticed how your headaches cleared and your stomach settled.

The Infinites
Being a part of this instant family (to me) is one of the most precious thing that ever happened to me. Imo, to meet them was the best thing I experienced in my 2017. We consisted of 8 people. We may look normal, but actually we are real dorks. We have different characters and personality, ofcourse. But fortunately we blended and matched each other so well. I was always so quite and preserve whenever Im with new people, but with them, it is indeed, an exceptional. Being an introvert didnt even help me, but they did, help me. KKN era forced me to adapt faster than I usually did, because we only had 45 days, right? I wasnt even familiar with the idea of 'living with some strangers and doing things together with some strangers'. It was my biggest nightmare to live with people other than family. But KKN really changed the way I perceived something.
There were times when I just wanted to be alone. Whenever Im in my solitary moment, one of them would came up to me, asked, "What are you doing here all alone? Can i join?". Thats why I never been alone while at KKN bcs they always nongol one by one and joined my dont-disturb-me-i-want-to-be-alone-for-a-while corner. Whatevs I did and whenever i went, they could always find me. And somehow I felt thankful for that. That was how they invaded my personal spaces, and made me realize that no matter how introvert you are, you will find comforts if you are being surrounded by the right people.
We named our self The Infinite Team. We had a deep philosophy meaning behind that name. Our group consists of 8 people, eight means infinite. By 'infinite' we hoped that our spirit will be infinity to face infinity problematics that we had when KKN. Sounded cheesy, we knew. But we strived to meet the expectations. We hoped we exceed people expectation by carrying that name. Yea, that name meant alot for us. Others group would consisted of 9 or 10, but since we were only 8 we received less amount of money from uni. It didnt bother us that much. But, our concern was the amount of people we had. We were 2x more tired bcs we lacked of people, compared to others. We used to have double job, cover each other position while finishing our own jobdesk. The plus is : our posko was actually a small house with 3 rooms. By having 8 members we could save space and EVEN WATER (oh god thankyou). We didnt have to queue for too long to take a bath or shalat. We divided the household chores fairly, ex doing dishes (2 people in each meal time), doing laundry (2-4 people in a day), house cleaning, and cooking. We usually did the turn by playing some games. Tho its childish but we found it fun. We used to play UNO every night. Or when we got bored of UNO we switched to other card games, like bohong, werewolf, speed, obat nyamuk, and etc. We used to arrange our schedule every ba'da isya by writing some to do lists in the whiteboard. After Maghrib,I turned the TV and I got scolded alot bcs i always watched naruto. Its not because they dislike naruto, but it was bcs that Naruto eps was being replayed over and over again that they fed up with it. But they still watched it anyway lol, I know you guys would still like it, stop complaining.
Every Saturday noon, we sat together to watch master chef and ninja warrior (our life saver). In Sunday morning we spent some times by having breakfast and watching Doraemon. Every once in a week we went out to eat at some random warung by using 'uang kehidupan'. We would get 'scholarship' to eat gratisan from that uang kehidupan. Yeah we had this habit to give nicknames in every thing. We called a bunch of snacks with 'uang rakyat' bcs we bought it with money from uni. We named our family room with 'ohana room' bcs Ohana means family. We named our flashlights 'Sumber kehidupan' bcs idk?. We named one of our room the 'before after room' bcs we used it to do make up. We had a room called 'logistics room' bcs thats where we keep our logistics. We named a guling as 'Oji's boyfriend' bcs thats how jones she were. We gave a nickname to a middle schooler as 'elsa' because his hands were always cold. And oh, we even gave name to our lovely live safer, 3 motors that we brought along from solo. They are ABut, plat K, and dolphino. We also had 2 cats, named Mendes and Alex. And these are the infinites :
1. Amel
Amel is that person who was in charge of cooking. She liked to take a nap at 13.00 and woke up at 14.30 straightly. She went to sleep early than any other people. She is actually a year older than the rest of us but she is the most innocent. One day she copied Dimma's pick up line, "WTF", thinking it means "astaga" in bahasa indo. She used that word for a week straight until we told her the actual meaning of that phrase. Her favorite activity consisted of taking photos and selfie, and update them on socmeds. She is the softest from all of us tho. She was also in charge of some updates in our instagram. She always got the most numerous bullies but she always nevermind. She could always laughed even for some lame jokes. She likes Spongebob, even she laughed like spongebob. She always lost whenever she plays game. But she tried hard in every Zombie vs Plants game and even counter strikes. One day, i saw her cry in the backyard but i didnt approach her bcs i thought whenever someone's crying I want to give them their space. I thought I would asked her whe she's feeling better, but dammit I forgot, like at all. Im sorry mel, i love you.
2. Ayub
Ayub is our Koordinator Desa or Kordes. He is practically our leader. But he somehow didnt act like a leader. He is the laziest person in this team. We picked him only because his home is in Pati, the Kabupaten we lived in. Ayub is the most narsis person i have ever known. His personality in 16personalities proved that he had the most common personality (16% of the amount of population in the world). He is the antithesis of my personality. He is so extrovert and comfortable to share his thing. He was always plays music using speaker every morning. At first we didnt bother with it, but slowly it annoyed us because his playlist was so damn lame. I knew he was always a dork but, come on, who would download covered songs with clapping sounds in the background. You can just download the actual song instead, Yub, smh. We used to hid that damn speaker to prevent Ayub for playing his music in the early morning. They gave the speaker to me and hoped that I would play better playlists, but I dissapointed them right after bcs i only had 4 songs, and it was all Taylor swift songs. But aside from his weird music taste, he is good at cooking. His level is far higher than mine. He likes to learn new things like the cup song, english, UNO, and even being doctor (we had 2 medical students). He likes to play badminton and always criticized at how I play. He was also dumb at times. But overall, he is a good person.
3. Azis
Azis whose name is everywhere is the most receh person. His jokes were always so lame that sometimes it could make us mad at him. We had to pretend that we didnt hear him joking in order to stop his lame jokes. Aside from that, he is a hardworking person. He is in charge of being the most religious person but somehow he had the dirtiest mind among us. He once said to me that in his campus life, he's known as quiet and preserve type which is the vice versa of the personality he had in KKN. He always had me to do chores and force me to buy things like flour, egg, and etc. His motor is Dolphino. He is the one who always complain at everything. And always saying things that triggered us but ended it like, 'Guys why would you do something stupid like this, CAN I JOIN'. He is dork af but in front of childrens he always in serious mode activated. His works often being underapreciate but he never failed us, always treated us good. He was like our human-reminder. He remind us time to time for some small details. "Guys dont forget that tmrw we still have 100 things to do, lets sleep before its too late". Or. "Guys, did you remember what pak kades said about xxxxx?". Or. "Dont forget to buy this and that." Thankyou for your concern, zis. Just knew that we were bunch of forgetful people, without him, we'd be lost.
4. Bela
Bela was the only one who constantly doing her puasa senin-kamis while KKN. Thats why we gave her exception by ousting her from doing dishes. She might be the most sensitive person among us, but she was also caring and considerate. She is younger than me, but she's all matured. She was the alternate kordes whenever Ayub's not in good mood to talk. She had alotta secret admirers, from children to abang penjual pentol istimewa. She is good with elder people. We can talk about almost everything. Tho she spent the most of time doing make up, she's actually not that girly. She was my partner in magang, doing laundry, and dishes. She was my life saver whenever im lazy driving the motor. Her motor named ABut, and it was my fave.
5. Dimma
Dimma whose name is soooo long is the one who took his most KKN time by annoying others with his childish behaviour. Indeed he is the youngest of our team. He is lowkey soft and caring. He onced renewed ABut's oli, he brought us food even without us asking, he made sure that everyone got their rights. He's just our precious youngest. He's good at fixing electronical problems. He was my partner in everyday's life. He took me round the village and helped me filmed using dslr. He gave me input and critics abt my editing. He was my partner on doing dishes. He laughed with me tho its past midnight while we did our own works and the others were mad at us bcs they were sleeping. He was the one who accompanied me stargazing in teras. One day we had to begadang because it was almost deadline and we havent finished our works. He was doing his presentations and I was busy doing the after movie. We were working quitely on our own works bcs we didnt want to disturb the others bcs our sounds. At 01.00 am we got tired and i asked him random things but we ended up having a serious deep talk about life. He was the one who made fun of my name by calling me Karizzza. It annoyed me at first, but I was sorta get used with my name being made fun of. I once told them that my name is meaningless (i didnt mean to say like that, it was because im mad). But in the end, at his letter he told me this, "The name in which you think is meaningless actually have a great meaning, it is a hope and prayer from your parents. It defines how strong you were and what you will be in the future. Dont hate your name okay." And that was everyone, the first time he ever called me Karizsa.
6. Iim
I cannot find proper words to describe how grateful i am to be in the same team with her. She is, as everybody knows, my bestfriend in campus. We are in the same class and even in the same queer. She is so critical, open minded, respectful, thoughtful, and reliable + dependable. She is full package. She always ordered to be MC in everty formal event. She ate the most than the rest of us, but she didnt gain weight. She's known for her smol and short figure and always busy with her phone. She had her most time by catching up news and watching GOT spoiler on yutub. We had the same obsession with Blackpink's song As if it your last. We came from the same faculty, so our way of thinking were more in political way. Thats why sometimes our opinions were divided between them and me & iim. At the end, we'd find a way, we got this. Me and her, We spoiled each other alot bcs weve known for sooo long. We cursed at each other in everyday life bcs thats just how bestfriend works. That bij, i love her.
7. Oji
I think my team didnt deserve Oji. She is the kindest, the most humble and easy going among us. Tho she didnt understand javanese, she always takes her time by learning javanese phrases, even made effort by writing it in books so she can memorize later. She brought half of her stuffs to posko. She brought along her car which takes 4 hours long from solo. She is strong independent woman, even she rode a pickup car that none of boys cannot ride. She is true gamer and half eater. She always tell stories abt her family and her campus life. Her family is somehow looked like bunch of gag (based on her story). She got calls from her family time to time. She was my dumb & dumber partner. Oji is a lil bit crybaby tho. She cried the most while KKN. She is a medical student, but her acts didnt say so. Hahahaha. One day, he told us this : "Do u know what make me grateful to be in this team? Thats because you never say that phrase." "What phrase?", Asked us. " 'Im embarassed being your friend' ". We felt so soft. And thats it. I enjoyed being with them. Tbh it was the best 45 days I've spent in my entire life so far. Well spent. It was such an unforgettable story to live with these seven dorks. Even after our KKN life ended, im still bragging to my other friends about them. They did the same too. I learnt a lot from them. Thanks guys for making my KKN life better than it should be. I guess ‘thankyou’ is just an understatement word to describe how grateful I am to have them.
I should've disappointed bcs i didnt get to KKN in my own kabupaten. But instead, God came with a better plan. When i shared abt KKN life with my campus friends, they mostly complained about how bad their teamwork or any conflicts happened within their team. But thanks God, i've never experienced that, at all. We were so lucky to have each other. At the last day, we wrote a letter to each other. One of it said, "Im so thankful to be in the same team with these strong people".p>
And yeah, we all were thankful for having each other, dont we?
Let’s meet again now and in the future, guys.
