Ahhh thank you anon! I could definitely write an entire dissertation on the beautiful writing in Reigen Arataka and his relationships with others but for now I'll still with this lmao

-How I feel about this character: [insert all the obligatory memes of 'I hate him he's ugly' here before I say] I love him!! A perfect character! Amazing premise, emotionally moving arc, the perfect half to balance out Mob, I am not the same after knowing him!! As much as I’ve ranted on here about Mob influencing part of my identity, Reigen has done just as much to touch me deeply. He’s the most selfless man you’ve even met, and all his selfish acts are only out of fear of rejection (which was also Mob’s greatest fear). He’s incredibly lonely and the biggest role model to lonely people. He changed so many lives and quite possibly saved the world, and he still thinks of himself as just a struggling fraud. He's got the patheticness and the comedy, but he's a true hero and Studio Bones didn't need to do much to make his personality attractive. That duality is always amazing to me.

-All the people I ship romantically with this character: Serizawaaaa <3 I think they both perfectly provide what the other needs – serirei has one of the most perfect balances of most ships I enjoy. Not only the introvert/extrovert honestly/liar thing, but with their types of anxieties and coping mechanisms and everything. They both are the best person to help the other grow, and convince the other that they are loved. Also, I can't overlook the aesthetic appeal of "person who is always getting into danger falls in love with powerful person who can save him" adfgbnj

-My non-romantic OTP for this character: As I mentioned before, he really does make a perfect pair with Mob. They both saved one another in a way no one else could have. They are both the first true friend, teacher, role model, and family to the other.

-My unpopular opinion about this character: I think I've mentioned this a while ago but I never enjoy theories/aus where he's an esper, since the whole center of his identity and growth is accepting himself without powers and knowing others do too :') It feels like I'm proving his imposter syndrome correct whenever I get too into one of the aus -- thinking "aw it would be cool if he had powers" betrays the fact that powers are just any other characteristic <3

-One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: I think it would have been cool to see his family! I know we get peeks of them and their effect on him, but I would have loved to see him interacting with people who already know the “real” him and how his persona would be different during conversations like that. I just imagine phone calls and quick cafe meetings where he's an entirely different person because these people knew him for as long as he lived. Would he drop his usual act, or throw himself into it even harder knowing they don't approve of him?
