The crossover I didn’t know I needed: where Hua Cheng picks up baby Wei Wuxian from the streets instead of Jiang Fengmian and raises him in the Ghost City as his little brother. 

The tone of voice is so funny I’m just giggling to myself while reading it.

“Xianxian is growing up now. He’s going to make new friends.”

“I’m his friend.” Hua Cheng unsheathed E’Ming when he saw the Lan Boy’s gaze flicker downwards, just as Wei Wuxian leaned forward and his robes gaped from his chest.

“Hua Cheng, E’Ming, no.”

“Hua Cheng, E’Ming, yes.” Hua Cheng muttered, voice barely more than a growl. He was pulled back by Xie Lian, and became briefly distracted by the flash of bare wrist he saw.

And Wei Wuxian’s #1 defender, Hua Cheng. 

The couple watched Wei Wuxian’s time at the cloud recesses. Watched as he drove the clan leader Lan Qiren to a near aneurysm almost every day, without fail.

One day they received a letter from said clan leader, detailing all the “shameless, impudent, undisciplined” doings. It is nearly floor length in height.

Hua Cheng suggests using it as kindling, but not before taking it upon himself to send a letter back in return to the Lan sect leader.

“Fuck you, my xianxian is an angel.” It says, in the shittiest handwriting Lan Qiren has ever seen.
